I love challenges & want to join in on this one emoticon
My month starts on the 13th day of each month. I'm starting out using last month's minutes, mileage, and steps. I will edit this original post with my new month of July 13 - August 13 at least once a week.

Fitness minutes - Goal is 1,500 fitness minutes per month / 60 minutes each day for 25 days out of the month (June 13 - July 13 emoticon )

Mileage - Goal is 50 miles a month (June 13 - July 13 emoticon )

Step Goal is 30,000 steps a month (June 13 - July 13 emoticon )

I know that we are already 10 days but starting a challenge late is better than not starting at all. I'll be doing two challenges this month.
Fitness: 600+ minutes
Mileage: 40 miles

I'm doing a Fort Worth to Galveston Texas virtual challenge. I'm hoping to get to Galveston Island by January 1st, 2020. Then hopefully do it for real one day to raise money for First Responders.

Am I too late join in? It's been a very long time, but I'm now financially invested in my well-being. We got a family membership at the Y! I'm so excited! We've only been members for two days, but I have been there working out both days. Would I be allowed to count those days in the challenge?

Working out this week so far has been a bust. Unless I count the times I've half lifting up my boys - in and out of the car. ( St. Bernard Lab mixes ) And major clean up duty. For a week that has literally gone to the dogs for me. ( Three times this week already. ) And why I have been virtually MIA all week to, other than a quick check in here and there.

Wednesday night I rushed in my big boy to find out that he did not in fact have pavo but a stomach flu virus going around, Just to turn around on Friday and rush in one of my oldest that somehow managed to break his hock / ankle. And then once again early Monday morning for another stomach flu attack. On a plus side I was able to bring in my very hurt one for his bandage change at the same time this morning, instead of a turn around later on this afternoon for him. I keep looking at my other two and telling them that this is enough for this week and they don't want any part of it. The few more days left of this week will tell if I got through or not.



I still have a couple of days left to do a little something, which is still better than doing a whole lot of nothing. Oh and, Good Happy Tuesday Morning Everyone!

Stressed.....do not allow that to become desserts! Had to do taxes and popped into a dine-out with hubby...dissaster city through Saturday. *Always* pack a healthy bag for those on the go trips. By the time Sunday hit oh boy I grabbed the salad and fruits with tracker app in hand and only went to kitchen for water and dish washing. Yep punishment for allowing a AWESOME week to be SABATOGED (sp). But I will say pat on the back for sticking to 21 days of check in. emoticon Fess up time - How many made the teams their goodies and made something healthy for those watching the trackers?

I got really sick and missed two weeks of life. Still have a cough but feeling much better now. Went to P.F. yesterday and it felt good. Day before I put boots and jackets on my dogs and walked them. It's been bitter, actually had a warm day today and reached twenty degrees Fahrenheit. I'm not normally that person but cabin fever is getting us all.

I need to kick my butt in gear on exercising. I didn't get any in like I should have yesterday or today. And I had no real excuse not to today. The temps were even in the low 60s so it would have been great walking weather. My daughter and I are going to the park in the morning to go walking. She's a cross country runner in college so there's no way I'll keep up with her but it will get me out there.

Wow, participating in the monthly minutes challenge for November was really eye opening, more than just tracking and the charts and what not. I am no where near my goal. I hope we do one for December so I can get better. I think I will list my excuses so I can keep track of that too. Maybe it will help me bust them.

Thanks for the note!! I've been doing good the last few days. Got a great 5 mile walk in yesterday. It was awesome!! I plan on getting an hour in this afternoon. I'm heading up to band camp early today and going to walk around the outside of the school until it's time for me to start breaking stuff down.

@VICKYLYLES - I have many days where I just don't wanna do anything, no even get outta bed (depression sucks). But once I get moving the funk dissipates. It's just the push to get up that is so difficult. I tell myself it's only 8 min or 15 min depending on what set I'm doing. next thing I know, I'm at 100. I almost took a rest day Saturday but thought to myself why? All I was doing is lounging on the couch watching TV. I still watched and got my fitness on. Now on day 31 of my unintentional 100 min a day streak. Monthly fitness goal met with 8 days to spare! Just gotta find that spark. Not trying to sound cliche. Hell, it took many years and restarts for me to find mine. But if you stick with it , it'll happen. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Ok, good; I'm glad I wasn't missing something when I tried to use my app for the forums.

So that is my challenge - getting on the computer when not at work. I suppose if I just log my food and exercise, I can go back and look for activity minutes to then log on the challenge post. :-)

I do mine from the computer. Sometimes I log my food in on the app if I'm out and about. You can log in your exercise and food on the app.

As for the forums, you cannot access them from the app (unless they have recently change that). You would have to use safari in order to get to it. I only use the computer for the forums since it is much easier for me to do it that way.

Question - do you use your phone app to log food or exerciese? Do you post stuff in the forums on your phone?

Or do you use your computer?

If you use your phone, when do you do it?

I ask b/c I'd like to start using the phone app more, especially so I can log in on weekends more for food and exercise more accurately. I don't think I can enter the challenge groups from the phone... but I could at least log minutes and food. Just need some pointers from anyone that uses regularly.

I actually did walk to the Salvation Army for lunch today and its just over 3 miles round trip. I didn't want to go but 2 friends were going to be there. I was grumpy the whole walk there but have been ecstatic since I got home.

looking for friends to connect with, get to know, and encourage each other along this journey. :-)

I upped my fitness goals this month and have totally crumbed out on myself. I used to do about 12 miles or more a week. I wanted to do 15-21. I haven't even done 12 either week so far!! I'm not sure why. I know it's been cold but a mile tasks me only 18-20 minutes. Now the weather is good and I'm still not putting in 3 miles. Just choosing not to. I'm not getting any emotional not getting that spark of emotional joy I used to get from walking and logging out and watching it grow.

Any suggestions?

Please post all chat to do with any or all of the monthly challenges here. DO NOT chat in the challenge threads and only post ONE post in the challenge threads and EDIT your original post each day/week.

Each month our team has 3 challenges - a fitness minutes, a mile challenge and a step challenge. You can participate in any of them or all of them. It's up to you. These are just another way to motivate people.

Fitness minutes - you set a goal of how many fitness minutes you want to get in during a month. This number is totally up to you. My original post in the section has all the dates listed for the month. You copy these and paste it into your post. You can mark you minutes for each day. Each person has 1 post for the month. If you go to the bottom of your post you can click edit and update your stuff daily.

Mileage - this works the same way as the minutes challenge except you put how many miles you did for that day. Miles don't just have to include walking/running.

Step you set a goal of how many steps you want to get in a month. It is recommended that you get in 10,000 steps a day. The goal is up to you.

These challenges are great. For me personally, it gives me some accountability. I don't want to see a bunch of zero days in my fitness minutes or miles.
