That's wonderful that you could be there for them in that moment, Patty...it's wonderful when God uses us in his work!

I don't have a brag today (yet!) but it sure is interesting to read everyone's daily brag blog.

PotRidge--We do underestimate ourselves, that's why we need to set our goals and why we need each other to keep encouraging us to meet our goal...thanks for sharing your thoughts. Makes me want to go exercise right now!

53PinkRoses-- emoticon you made up for those days on the road! Did you have a nice Easter? It's my constant challenge too to eat the right foods while traveling. I'm sure it's harder in a foreign country. I'm able to pack a good 'lunch bucket' (that's what my husband calls it:) for myself, but even with that with me it's so easy to grab the carbs and sugar and junk that's available. It is amazing how good, good food can taste!

Check out my new blog as I undertake a new challenge in my life!

DIET IS A FOUR LETTER WORD!!!!

We are constantly creating our "karma" or destiny through our intentions, thoughts and deeds in this moment. It is achieved through countless deliberate acts of selflessness.

It's hard to be happy with others if we are not happy with ourselves.

Just keep on moving and you'll get there.

If you ever want to feel good about yourself, go out and help someone else!

Wow, I'm just now seeing this thread. How fun! And it looks like you all are "really getting into this bragging thing", as Deb said. LOL

My brag is that my diet was about 95% just fruits & veggies today-and it was SOOOO good! I was gone for 4 days and I had little choice but to eat mostly carbs, fat & sugar...that's what the average Brazilian diet is. But I believe I made up today for the lack of those 4 days!

Well, OK, there could be better things to brag about but I thought that was pretty good myself!

Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart, for consider what great things He has done for you. (I Samuel 12:24)

Good job Pattysh! emoticon that's dedication!

I have to brag a little about yesterday (Easter) I'm on call this month as a flight attendant. I had to get up at 4:30am yesterday morning (saw a beautiful Easter sunrise)and drive from San Diego to LAX where I'm based. I only had 4 hours of sleep yet I stuck to my diet plan all day. Usually I end up turning to sugar to keep me awake and going when I don't get enough sleep but because I knew I would have to record it I ate the right things!

I have been playing "catch up" in my walking since my company left and for awhile it looked like I wasn't going to be able to get my 10 miles in this week--BUT, I have really pushed myself and I will reach that goal today after all! Whew.......

CB--thank you! And while it IS good to be grateful and to brag on others, as VERY nice women, we probably DO need some encouragement to brag on ourselves a bit! ;)

And here's one--I stayed under my calorie limit again today! And did my walk--but I was too mad at my husband to go workout...!

But I did forgive him and not make him pay--dang, I'm really getting in to this bragging stuff now!! emoticon

Sue: How kind of you to say that! emoticon You've really made my day!

Deb: It really gladdens my heart that you did this. Nurses work very hard and sometimes take more than their share of abuse. It is one thing to know you have a good nurse on your team and quite another to honor her in this way. Whether she wins or not - thank you for your efforts.

OK--I found a brag!!

We have a wonderful nurse in our department, who's been there with me since 1997. I have nominated her for the Florence Nightingale Award, and I'm working hard on the paper describing why she should win. And I'm proud that I'm following through--almost all done, in fact--instead of just thinking "Oh, I should do that", and then letting it go!

You are so right, CB. Good for you to care enough to give her the prod she needed. I'm sure whe will thank you for it.

BTW, did I tell you that you inspired me with you stair climbing? I probably not do it everyday, but at least on the days I can't or don't get outside to walk or run. I have 15 steps at 7" each. I went up and down them 13 times before I stopped the other day. I had just done a lower body workout the evening before, so that was enough for that day. So I am bragging on you for giving us a great challenge!

well... it isn't much... but I did inspire my friend to make the doctor appointment and get her routine tests going. She is very smart lady - taught school for many years, is fluant in 3 languages, is a workhorse at exercise etc... BUT she hasn't had a mamogram, cholesterol check, or bone density done in over 10 years! And she has never had a colonscopy or Vit D test done. So today we had a 'heart to heart' talk. She is 58 and these things need to be done!

I'm afraid I've been a slug for a few days! The best thing I can brag about is that I finally MADE myself read about matching up the UPC code with the ISBN number--and beleive me, it was a feat that I made it through!!

I'll do something brag worthy soon, I promise! ;)

Some of you may know that I went on an excursion with a group from our church to the Sight & Sound Theater in Lancaster, PA. I was priviledged to share a room with a friend who was recently widowed and suffered a broken leg at the same time. She is still having a bit of trouble getting around and has to move slow. I was happy to spend time with her, instead of feeling I had to get out to walk or do my own thing. We had a lovely time together. I can walk this next week.

Hmmmmmmmm . . . with all of the "stuff" happening at our school I need to find something. I found the energy to teach synthetic division and finding the zeros in polynomials after a week of ridiculous pull outs of students from my Algebra III/Trig. class for track, baseball, softball, chess club nationals, FBLA competition, VICA competition, AIMS science and math testing, and Career Day the last 20 minutes of the day on a Friday when my students were finally given back to me to the 10 sophomores that missed that really hard lesson. Phew!

I'll start--------

Today, I did a really fun lesson with first graders using the book, "Have You Filled a Bucket Today?" by Carol McCloud. We had such a good time being "Bucket fillers" and not "Bucket Dippers"!

Sometimes we forget all the good things that we do, or our family does. Let's use this board to brag a bit and toot our own horn! What did you do today that you're proud of ? What did your grandchild do? Anything at all......we want to celebrate with you! It's time to pat ourselves on the back!!
