If you see my update blog, it's been agreed for me to get the x-ray tomorrow.
Our insurance is thru another state and with hospital precedures, we only have to pay 10% of the cost. But when hubby was in the hospital for 3-1/2 days the bill was $26,000.00, NOT counting him seeing 3 doctors, and other specialists. Our insurance and his medicare paid about 85% of the total bill ( total over $42,000.00), but that left us paying the balance plus he was seeing 3 doctors, a physical therepst, and a home health nurse, plus on oxygen for over 18 months. The bills just skyrocketed. And his medicine is $113.00 every 3 months after insurance pays part of it. We live on less than $2200.00 a month (pension and SS); just our car payment and rent is $1100.00. Add utilities, cable, insurance on the car, life insurance payments, groceries, and $40.00 a month pocket money for a few odds and ends we might want, it leaves very little. I pay what I can every month to the doctors and everyone has been fine with it. It's just the hospital now fussing and we owe less than $250.00 to them now. My x-ray will cost us another $41.00 that will be added to the bill. I haven't missed a payment in 2 years, so I don't know what their problem is. Thankfully we don't get the harrassing phone calls.

Good Morning. I got my walk in yesterday and this morning. It's up in the air right now if I'm going to be able to get the needed x-ray in the morning at the hospital. Billing is squaking over the payment plan we've had for the last 2 years. They want me to up the monthly payment 10 times what I've been paying monthly and we simply can't afford it. The woman in billing was going to talk to her supervisor today and call me back but depending what she says I may not get the x-ray. I went this morning to my doctors office and explained what was going on and asked for an antibiotic for the infection. It won't show what's causing the infection but maybe it'll clear it up. I'll know later today if I'll get the prescription or not as I couldn't talk to the doctor myself. So I'll keep you posted on what's going on.
