Hi all! Catching up on everyone's January. Scale pose. WOW!

I did well following Yoga With Adriene's 30 Days of Yoga.... up until this past Tuesday. Work really drained me this week.

I had the day off today so I did Tuesday's and Wednesday's video. In a few minutes, I'll do Thursday's and today's video to finish up! It has improved my posture and core strength!

Tonight’s yoga at the gym focused on hip openers. Just what I needed! (16 of 12 for my intention)
I’m 5 miles over my walking goal for the month. YAY!
Meditation and prayer every morning like clockwork. Such a good habit.

Been so busy I haven’t checked in.
My ear is still plugged but the docs have an eye on it.
Thursday I had a good practice at the gym. We did buddy yoga some of the time. (10 of 12)
Last night we practiced with straps to help with stretches. (11 of 12)
Headed to the gym again in a moment for another practice. Looking forward to it. (12 of 12) I guess I set my intention too low. So I’ll keep on practicing.

Yes! 1300 days of Headspace today!

I would say to keep a streak going, you have to make it a priority. Now I did miss that one day (but I guess Headspace forgave it?) but other than that, it's really become a routine habit. So it's easy to keep going once you have a routine like that. And I feel the meditation really helps keep my mind calmer, less agitated.

So as of today, I'm at 19 days of yoga/meditation for the month.

YESTANGO you can adjust along the month if you feel you expectations went beyond what you actually can do. The important thing is to keep going to the mat and put your walking sneakers. emoticon


KAYOTIC 1299 days of Meditation on Headspace, that is awesome, some advice to keep going? what is the most important thing you have learned from Headspace site and from meditation?

Hi all! I did the next Yoga With Adriene video last night. A bit challenging since I had been on a group run a couple hours before.... 3 miles in 19 degrees! I had a couple laughs at how shaky I was but it felt good.

At one point she had us in a wide-legged forward fold. I put my elbows on a block and it felt really good hanging there. Then she had us roll up into starfish. Can't describe the feeling. I felt graceful and powerful at the same time!

Way to go on the meditation Kay. I would like to get back to my meditation habit. I've accepted that work is going to be very challenging for the foreseeable future with the projects they have lined up so I need a little more gentle self care. Thanks for the inspiration.

I went to a 2 hour Yin Yoga class at my instructor’s house. It was wonderful. She has them once a month. I love them. (9 of 12)

Tonight I went to a good practice at the gym. Seated and standing asanas. (7 of 12)
With my right ear still completely plugged my balance isnt the best, but it feels good to be back on my mat.

I went for a long walk this afternoon. I’m starting to breathe more easily. After, I rolled out my mat and did a nice stretching practice. (6 of 12 for my intention)

Glad you are starting to feel better!!!

My abs are still barking at me from Yoga With Adriene's Tuesday video. A woman I work with is following the 30 day series as well and said the same thing, coughing is a challenge!

I plan to revisit that a few more times after January to keep building core strength.

I peaked at today's video and it looks relaxing so I'm looking forward to that one later.

I made it to practice at the gym yesterday and tonight. (2 and 3 of 12 for my intention). It felt so good to be back with the community. I didnt cough through either practice.

I’m still battling this upper respiratory illness. But I’m going to stay positive and make healthy choices.

My intention for January:
-12 yoga practices at home or at the gym.
-Meditation and prayer daily in the morning 10-15 minutes min.
-walking 50 miles

TGIF!!

I did the 45-min Yoga With Adriene video in her January series. I rarely do longer than 30 minutes of yoga lately. I need to slow down and remember how beneficial the longer practices are. I slept SO good last night!

Happy new year!

The first day of Yoga With Adriene's January series is always an "instructional" video... let you know what the month will hold, followed by a few cleansing breathes.

So I did her Yoga for Flexibility, adding some yin yoga poses afterward. Yin yoga is very good for me.

In January I am going to walk 2.5 miles 20 days. I will also do yoga and meditation 20 practices of at least 30 minutes each.

A Buddhist monk had also said, memorably, at the end of a meditation practice, "Appreciate and be thankful for your natural openness, your natural intelligence and your natural warmth."
(I love that when spoken aloud at the end of practice. om)
