I only could have small dogs. I hope you find one.

We worked today rounding up a 3rd load of stuff to haul off tomorrow. The second load of metal is in the truck already. The third load will be an old fridge, a box full of aluminum, a bunch of car and lawnmower batteries, 4 bags of trash. Rain tomorrow for us but we hope to get all of this hauled off. They won't pay much for the fridge. It's not a ton of money but we get $15 - $20 a load.

My friend and I spent yesterday looking at dogs in shelters around here. There were a couple I liked, but problems with having them. One was a very sweet pit bull, but we can't have them in this city. The other was an older husky, but he was too big for me to ever be able to afford. I saw something about fosters for a family of dogs that had been abandoned and am thinking maybe I can foster, but I might not qualify for that because of my house being too full of things. My friend just wants me to get one of my own and her neighbor will help with adoption fees.

I am working on the house, though. I haven't gotten real far yet. I have a bag of recycles and will need to get more bags or refill that one a few times. I'll also probably throw things away that I have always kept. Just too much stuff here. Can't do anything about the fence, though. Maybe Pete and I can figure a way to support the fence more. Some people who used to live there tore up part of the fence to put in a garage and then didn't fix it. I can barely open my gate because of how they stuck the fence boards between the fence post and my fence.

Hubby is usually resistant to downsizing but right now I am easing him into it by getting him to haul off junk. We rounded up a truck load of metal yesterday and hauled it off to the recycling center. Rounded up another truck load today and we will take it Monday.

Yeah, and I wasn't shopping that often. Now I kind of do, but not getting very much at a time.

Today I took my truck down to get the emissions test done and get my license renewed. That is one thing I haven't had problems with in my truck other than having the money to get the license. I am always a month late to get it. That is the one month we are allowed before they start charging $25 a month penalty. I think over the next 2 years I will try to get spark plugs so we can do a tune up before the next emissions test.

They usually like you to scan once a week unless you didn't shop and then you can indicate that.

We often eat on salad plates too.

Watercolor class sounds fun. I have never seen pickleball.

Oh, I didn't mean buying something from that company, I just meant that I needed to buy more at the stores I shop at, then scan in or fill in the information on how much I spent. But they wanted it done more often and I couldn't afford to do that. I don't remember if they paid you or gave your something that you chose from their "catalog," but I think it was the latter and they kept making it more points to earn anything.

I usually use a salad plate to eat from. I just don't eat much at a time, but guess I eat the wrong stuff all the time. I sure don't lose anything, even when I am playing pickleball twice a week (which I need to get back to). I played Tuesday, but today was trying to get a little practice at watercolor painting before class. Turned out class was cancelled, but I didn't find out until pickleball was over. Oh, well, there is always next week.

We don't eat full servings. Everything I eat fits on a dinner plate and it's not heaped up. I don't have pie - no pastry. Just the apple part. I stay in calorie range and carb range.

The phone I have now cost $49.

I don't have to buy a certain amount of anything with Nielson. They don't sell anything. They just record what I buy and let vendors know like Walmart and Kroger. They don't pay me for it. They just give you gifts for participating.

That's a really busy couple of weeks. I wouldn't be able to eat half of what you had for Thanksgiving. I did finish off my apple pie, but it took me through yesterday and I only had part of the pie here. I haven't gotten my turkey yet, just had some at my friends'. I might get a chicken, or maybe a turkey breast. I would like to get a good rib roast for around Christmas. Maybe for the actual day.

I am always ending up with the phone that they are discontinuing. The one I have now is discontinued, but will have the support for a little while yet. I cannot afford the newer ones. They are all something like $199 and up. Replacing my broken one was $59.

AT&T doesn't seem very nice to you. Thinking of them, I had to pay them for a leased phone that didn't work for years. I kept telling them it didn't work, but I still had to pay. Finally after about 10 years they told me how to disconnect that phone (it was a wall phone) and I don't have to pay to rent it anymore.

I had one of those survey/scan your purchases programs for a while, but it was so hard to get it to them and they lowered the rewards every month or so. I just didn't buy as much as they wanted me to. It didn't include the TV. I have tried a lot of those survey programs, but never get anything from them. Then they will make me go through the entire survey and after I've finished it (some taking over 30 minutes) they say I don't qualify for it. I wish I could find something honest that would help me make a little money.

The temps are up and down here, mostly down. Lots of wind and plenty of rain. No more snow yet. Hubby took some time off for Thanksgiving so he was home 9 days. It would have been nice if we could have spent some time relaxing but we had to get ready for winter. By day 8 we were exhausted and about ready to kill each other. We got a lot done though. Hubby and I got the rest of the summer outside stuff put away like the pond fountain, A.C. unit, backyard fountain. The high winds finally brought the leaves down so hubby was able to leaf blow and Mow N Vac most of them up. He even got on the roof and cleaned them off and cleaned out the gutters. The weather cooperated, though it was far from warm. i I got the raised beds all cleaned out finally. We hauled off all the bags of aluminum cans but never got around to rounding up and hauling off a bunch of metal stuff and batteries which I really wanted to do. I spent the day before Thanksgiving fixing our Thanksgiving meal. There is just the 2 of us so I don't fix a lot - a turkey breast with gravy, stuffing, candied sweet potatoes, bacon green beans, whole homemade cranberry sauce, rolls, relish tray of olives and pickles, apple dessert, pumpkin dessert. Small amounts that are made as healthy as possible. Very little processed foods, no added sugar, easy on the fat. We finished it off today.

Hubby got the humidifier going and it sometimes helps some of our problems. My arthritis is improving Less back pain, less knee pain.

I spent some time working on my computer and on the phone taking care of important things. I got my Medicare Rx plan chosen and hubby's insurance plan.

I called AT&T to cancel my landline and they asked me to wait and said they would send someone out and they didn't and stood me up AGAIN. But the next day, when I was gone, they showed up. They say it still needs more work as we need a new line run. The deadline was Friday and they showed up today. Put in the new line and now the phone doesn't work at all. LOL. My Tracfone is being phased out so I am going to have to get a new one soon. I am destined to be phoneless, I guess.

I have been a member of the "Nielson" Homescan for over 20 years and they sent me an anniversary gift for that. It is this beautiful soft blue blanket. For Homescan you do things like fill out a booklet telling them what T.V. shows you watch. We did that for several years. You record all of your purchases with a scanner and answer surveys and questions about your shopping preferences. I assume they use it to learn to learn how to market to different groups. You earn points for doing it and I have a lot. They have a gift catalogue and I have enough points to get most of the top gifts. We are talking about nice things like T.V.s, laptops., ipads, all the way down to flashlights, jewelry. Gifts of all kind. I can't scan without a phone so I have not been able to do that for quite some time.

They are supposed to be putting in a new power pole for us so hopefully they will get that done soon. They said December but they did the neighbors and not ours.

I am taking a break from medical tests. They want to schedule them all when it isn't likely I can do them. Winter here isn't conducive to travel.

I am so sorry to hear that you are suffering so bad after the loss of Cassie. I know how you feel. Try to remember that she would not want to be the cause of you being so sad. You gave her a good life and you made her happy. Hugs.

Had to call my friend for a ride to church. After church we got a battery from Walmart and after stopping for lunch brought it home and I texted my friend who does my mechanical work and asked if he wanted to install a battery. So now I have a truck that runs. Got the supplements mailed off. Went to Walmart and got some lights for the house. They had LED lights for $4.97 a 4-pack, so I picked up one of those. Walking back down a middle aisle they had a bin with 60 watt lights for 97 cents a 4-pack, so I got one of those, too.

My friend took my Christmas tree away. My lights on it don't work, so she was going to see if she could see which one is causing the problem and fix them, plus clean the entire tree (it's small). Guess if the lights won't work I do have some here to use instead. Then she is going to put it on top of Cassie's crate so it is easier to get to.

Can't stop crying, I miss Cassie so much. I didn't do too bad after leaving the vet's last week and managed okay through Thursday. Now I can't stop crying.

I'm sure that Cassie would be glad to know that her medicine might help another dog. Hope you can get to where you need to go. Hugs

I tried to get out to mail the supplements I had left to a lady whose dog was just diagnosed with lymphoma. I had stuff given to me and I figured to pass it on to someone else who needs it. So I went out and found a truck that wouldn't start. Guess it needs a new battery, which I can't get because I need what I have to get the license for the truck. They charge $25 a month for late fees. One of my friends was able to charge the battery and I got things done, but it was too late to take anything to mail. Besides, I needed packing tape to send it. Don't know if I can get to church on my own tomorrow or if my friend will have to come get me. Guess I should head for bed early so I can get out and check the truck in the morning early enough. Not sure how to get to pickleball after this.

I did get the 3-day stuff I wanted from the store. They had Northern TP on sale for $3.99. It is regularly $8.49 now. I also got gas so when I can drive the truck I will have some. For $40 I only got a half tank.

It sounds like Orzo is missing Cassie. It will be a while before you both adjust to being without her. emoticon

I got my box on Wednesday and yesterday went to my friends for dinner. Came home and promptly fell asleep. Orzo work me up early for breakfast and has been wanting to be fed the entire day even after he had eaten breakfast. He didn't want me to sleep again after he woke me up. Today I have just been sitting around. A friend called from Germany. Hadn't talked to her for a long time.

Darlene, I didn't receive this email about Cassie and am so sorry to hear this. Cassie was such a pretty and sweet dog. I feel so bad for you and Orzo. I know how it hurts. I'm sending a prayer and hug to you. I wish the weather had been better and you could have seen the train and got your food box.

Jazzy, in my life I have had 2 cats, 3 dogs, 13 dwarf hamsters, and 9 chinchillas and losing all of them was heartbreaking. Thanks for the advice on the phone.

I didn't make it to see Big Boy. Would have left too late. There are some pictures on Facebook, though.

Didn't get my food box today, either. There was so much snow that they were closed. They told King's, but not the news channels that post what closures there were, apparently. I checked the closure list before I went out to shovel my truck out. It took me an hour to just clear a narrow path around the truck and the sidewalk from the back and it was a dry snow. Just around 10 inches of the stuff. So I will have to find out if we go the same time tomorrow or if they have some different times. They do half on Tuesday and half on Wednesday usually.

So I stopped at King's on the way home and have been home with Orzo since then. It's sad in here, but still calm and warm.

we are suppose to get a storm starting tomorrow night. I hope it waits until then. I want to go see the Union Pacific Big Boy and the closest I can go to see it is about 50 miles east of here (maybe not quite that far) and out there the roads get really bad. Tuesday the storm is really suppose to be here and that is the day I pick up my Thanksgiving box. They have a really strict schedule there to get it and I am already scheduled for an hour later than I should be because of my pickleball games. Of course, in that weather I skip the pickleball lately. It's only suppose to be around 20, I think, and what one of my friends was checking indicated they expect up to 12 inches of snow (he works at a school and was checking if they would possibly be closing the schools).

So far nobody wants to go with me to see the train. My one friend has to work tomorrow. The other one I think thinks it's a waste of time. Will see about him later. Need to get a good night's sleep so I can make it there and home.

For the last 3 months we have been fighting Cassie's lymphoma. Today we lost the battle and sent her to Rainbow Bridge. She didn't want to come inside after I let her out. Last night she was bleeding. She wouldn't go on by herself and was still following me everywhere, though she could barely walk. The vet clinic now has a really nice room like a small living room or den with a sofa and tanks of fish and blankets. I laid down on the floor next to Cassie, with my arm around her. The vet even got her a folded blanket for a pillow. He is so sweet. I couldn't come home afterward, though. I just can't stand it here without her.

I am not ready to get a new dog, but we did go to where they had an adoption event going on. My friend thinks that means I am ready, but the very day? No. I just didn't want to come home, so we went to see puppies to try to cheer me up.

I think that Orzo knew what was going on. I closed the door on Cassie's crate this morning while she was outside and he just kept looking across into the crate. He is a sad boy. He didn't like her at first, but grew to love her.

I think that with the sadness here I will go to see the train. It will keep me away from here for a little while. Of course, I need to be here for Orzo too.

Cassie napping a few years ago.

Orzo showing Cassie his love.

Monday AT&T didn't show up and didn't call so I called them. They wanted me to wait all day again and I said no. So I will be cancelling my landline with AT&T. Doesn't sound like they can fix it anyway. They said the problem is not just my phone.

Hubby and I got 2 new tires for his work vehicle yesterday and some windshield wipers. We went to 3 different towns to run some errands. DMV, Walmart, gas station, Rural King. We looked at cell phones. Got some fire extinguishers for the house and car.

I had so much work to do today and have been chipping away at it. Vacuuming, cleaning, 4 loads of laundry, plus a lot of miscellaneous smaller stuff. There were 30 things on my to-do list. Some of them probably won't get done today. I am down to 8 left. The goal was to get the big stuff done and as many of the others as I could and it worked. I didn't sleep well so it has not been easy. I had some vertigo in the night and some GI problems then and today. Hubby was sick a lot of yesterday but feels a little better today. There is plenty of flu in the area now. Everyone is hacking.

Hubby got the old truck fixed and starting dealing with leaves this weekend. I finished cleaning out the garden and perennial beds. Picked up more limbs. Waiting for AT&T all day long today. So far they have not shown up. They have an hour an 15 minutes left. It's almost dark already.

I got all my work done yesterday and some extra but it was brutal. I am getting too old for this much work. Too sick.

We set weather records today. We had 9 degrees this morning and 2 inches of snow. I don't like snow and I don't like 9 degrees.

We worked outside all weekend. Hubby worked on the truck and it is almost done. Just putting some fluids back in it. I spent the weekend getting ready for winter, pulling up more plants, planting perennials, emptying and washing flower pots, cleaning and putting up the decorations and lawn furniture. I only have a few things left to get ready for winter next weekend. And winter has arrived. There is a Winter Weather Advisory which started at noon here until 9 pm. Windy, cold, temps plummeting, dark. Rain switched over to freezing rain, sleet, and then snow. 1-3 inches possible but I would say the lesser amount. 11 degrees tonight. I don't think I will be going to my doctor appointments this week. I'm worn out and need some rest. I'm not going to fight this weather.

I know I am not around as much as I used to be but I am here as much as I can be. I'm having some health challenges, as most of you know. My husband too. Symptoms like malaise, fatigue, aches, back pain, sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, fever, sweats, ear problems, dizzy, wheezing, scratchy throat, post nasal drip, eye drainage, swollen lymph nodes, nausea, occasional cough, hematuria, hematochezia, etc. Thus I'm having a lot of medical appointments, tests, and exams. Some are routine, some not. Filling out tons of papers. Seeing almost all new doctors. We assume the problems are nothing serious but this is lingering too long. There are a lot of communicable diseases going around here right now. So far we have found out we both have an inner ear problem which is apparently contagious as a woman at work had it first. Due to this we both suffer from intermittent bouts of vertigo. If you have had it you know what a nightmare it is. I am doing some better - less problems with balance. Still careful when I turn my head or look up or down. We also have a mild Upper Respiratory Infection which a man at hubby's work had too - basically a cold. It's a cesspool there right now. Having a weakened immunity has caused us both to be in an active state of MRSA. I thought it felt like MRSA but I didn't have any outward signs at first until my hubby had a MRSA lesion and then I had one. Oh goodie. I have a sinus infection, asthma problems, my R.A. is active, my seborrhea is active, my Reynauds also, my genetic neuro problem has started up again. My hypoglycemia is causing some problems as I often don't want to eat - the inner ear thing is not conducive to eating. My doctor seems to think the worst of it for me is out of control allergies. The titers here were off the charts according to him this year as the weather was different. More rain than usual, less heat. He seems to have narrowed it down to a problem with mold which is difficult to avoid when you live in a woods full of leaves. He sent me to the new ophthalmologist for eye problems and I have beginning cataracts, dry eyes, bilateral allergic conjunctivitis so I have 5 eye drops a day now. Plus a daily allergy med plus a new allergy spray. The good news is I don't have any signs of retinitis pigmentosa or glaucoma. The "B" eye doctor last year lied about the glaucoma. I did get my dental cleaning done. The xray machine was broken so I didn't have to do that. My teeth are much healthier except that I have bruxism (teeth grinding) and TMJ ( joint trouble) so the dentist wanted me to see my doctor about it and I did. He gave me a plan for that - dental guard. They both agree on an OTC one. My mammogram is out of the way - good results. My yearly wellness exam is done. His recommendation to me is that I do too much for a woman my age. He wants less exercise. WTH! Ever heard a doctor say that? It doesn't happen often. I'm not all that happy about that as I feel I need to move more, not less. I'm still a lot healthier than many people my age. Winter is fast approaching and I have so much work piled up.

Hubby did get my old Sierra truck fixed 2 or 3 weekends ago and took it for a test drive. The day after we went to town and one of our neighbor's dogs ran out in front of my truck and hubby slammed on the brakes, skidded, and tore up the truck trying to avoid killing it. The dog was frightened and hopefully it learned a lesson from this. It's owners are idiots. When we came to a stop the truck was smoking like a chimney. We were able to limp the 3 miles home with it smoking the entire way. So I didn't get to drive it after it was fixed and he is back to trying to fix it again. The brake line is torn and the transmission has some damage. Thankfully the work he did before was not damaged - the new muffler, exhaust are okay. Not sure when it will get done. I have given up thinking about it. After the wreck I had some mid to lower back pain, hip pain, left knee pain which hubby had some of too so we thought it was the wreck but who knows as later I passed a kidney stone and had another bout of acute diverticulitis. Bleeding from everywhere so I'm hoping things are going to calm down soon. The moral of this lesson is that if you let your dog run loose you need thumped.

This is the reason I have been silent. I have spared others this cheery news and have focused on getting better and on keeping positive. I'm positive I'm sick of being sick. LOL.

The temps has been up and down a lot but it is, in general, much cooler and bitter temps will be here later this week. The leaves are turning and coming down. I started pulling up plants in the garden. Starting gathering up the lawn furniture and decorations to clean and put away. Started picking up limbs. I'm progressing. And I still have some good books to read, like the Laura Childs tea shop mysteries.

Hubby got our new driveway alarm installed. He put up our new motion detector light on the front porch. Hubby washed both trucks.

Our land line is on the blink and I found out my ancient flip Tracfone cell phone will no longer be usable either after this year. So now I have to figure out about that. I know nothing about cell phones.

I have to choose Medicare plans and hubby's insurance plans. Plus all my other work.

Too much.

I go through periods like that too. Especially when it cools off. It's irritating.

I picked about 2 gallons of tiny unripe tomatoes because it was going to snow. What does one DO with this excess? I created a recipe last night that was AWESOME! ONE pan! 5 ingredients! We gleefully ate every last bite! And it is SO simple to make! The small amount of sweet dried fruit balances the tart acidity of unripe tomatoes or tomatillos, and the feta cheese creates a creamy, slightly salty "dressing". And tarragon is perfect with mushrooms.
I posted it under "Vegetables" in the Recipes Section, but I thought I'd post it here too!

Koshie’s HOT TOMATO SALAD serves 4
The tomatoes are better when unripe/green! This is AMAZING!

2 c firm-fleshed tomatoes or tomatillos, in large chunks (~ ¾” cube)
2 c chunked fresh mushrooms (roughly the same size or a bit larger than tomatoes)
2 t chopped fresh tarragon, or ½ t dried
½ c crumbled feta cheese
2 T dried cranberries or other dried fruit, minced
Saute tomatoes until they begin to soften and brown in a VERY hot cast iron or nonstick skillet (you don't want them to make the pan wet.) Add mushrooms and continue to sauté over VERY high heat until tomatoes begin to fall apart and mushrooms are showing signs of caramelization. Remove to serving bowl and immediately toss with remaining ingredients. Serve.

I love the blessing of the animals. Our Farmer's Markets this year were not very good.

It is nice here but is going to cool off late in the week. Hubby has the old truck about done. It is back together but has to put transmission fluid back in, test for leaks, and get it off the ramps. I did cleaning and laundry today.

They changed the forecast for Thursday. Now they are down to the low 30s. I didn't see what the rest of the week was.

I ended up getting out of church too late to go to the farmers market today. Hope it will be nice enough to go next week. Might be able to go Wednesday (before all that cold hits too hard), but I'm not sure that the vendor I want to get from is at that one. It's a smaller market than the Sunday. After church I went to get help setting up my phone. He did something to transfer everything from the old phone and it took a long time. Well, the last one was only about 2 or 2 1/2 hours.

This evening I took both Cassie and Orzo to the blessing of the animals and they got blessed by both priests.

Nice here. We will have several days in the 70s before it cools off next weekend. I like the 60s.

Some people are very healthy in their 80s and 90s and some people aren't. My body doesn't like to be stressed. My doctor only allows certain activities like walking, swimming, and gentle yoga, qigong, dancing.

I like my doctor and his nurse a lot so I look forward to being seen by them.

I am so sorry about Cassie. Chemo is bound to be taking some energy out of her. She is eating though and that is a good sign. I sent a prayer for her. Hugs.

My hubby is working on the truck and I have been catching up on chores inside and outside. It's trying to rain here and my arthritis is letting me know. I am going to take a bath and read.

It was back to some warmer weather today. Tomorrow is suppose to be in the upper-60s and Sunday lower 60s. Thursday isn't suppose to get to 50, but between Sunday and Thursday in the 70s. Not too sure I want the 60s and 40s for the highs.

We have a lady who plays pickleball that had both knees replaced after years of playing tennis. The surgery didn't work out too well for her because she has a lot of scar tissue that keeps her stiff. She does all sorts of things trying to get them better. There are a couple other people who have had knee replacements, but they are doing really well after them. One man there just got a pacemaker and he was so upset because he had to sit out for 6 weeks. He is back playing now. He is 2nd oldest there at 87 (I think this month or close to it). The oldest guy looks like in his 60s, but turned 87 in June or July. I can't play anywhere near as well as they do.

My doctor's appointment is Monday. They send us the paperwork over the internet that we have to fill out. It only allows one reason for seeing the doctor and includes if you have diabetes. The questions just don't make sense for me. It asks if you experience all these things that are symptoms of LOW blood sugar, but I don't get lows, just highs. I am thinking of going to another rec center and playing pickleball in the morning. It is somewhat on the way to the doctor's. A bit to the east, but north of me and the doctor's office is north of there.

Was going to go to the store today, but never made it. I definitely need to get there tomorrow because I need to get Cassie some more meat. I got some ground beef out for tomorrow and she will get that raw. The chemo she is on is not working and is causing her lymph nodes to double in size when she gets it. Vet wants her on it another week before she gets something else. I am still thinking I need to take her off or she won't make it till next week. She is still eating fine and loving her food, but today she didn't even bother to explore the yard like she usually does. I am really getting upset over this.

Darlene, we are not anywhere near that cold yet like you. It was in the lower 50s this morning and it felt nice.

Beef is expensive but I like it. It's is hard for me to digest though. I get GERD from it so I don't have it often.

I'm not healthy enough to do group sports. I'm certain I would hold people back.

Hubby is taking Monday off for a 3 day weekend and he will be working on my old 93 Sierra truck. I hope he gets it done. I miss my old buddy. It isn't pretty, doesn't get good gas mileage, and takes practically a month's income to fill the gas tank but I still love it. He is going to put up our new driveway monitor too. We had one but it stopped working so we are replacing it. Hubby picked the veggies from the garden again so I won't need to do that.

I have to fill out my papers this weekend for my wellness doctor visit. I'm not exactly well but I'm not feeble either. Okay, maybe a little mentally feeble. LOL. I have some plants to plant. A hosta, a peony, a couple more perennials.

I got my errands done for the week. Checked out some more Laura Childs tea shop books from the library. I wish we had a tea shop here. We do have a Republic of Tea manufacturer in the county west of us so we do have lots of tea offerings.

We didn't stay so pleasant yesterday. The official high was 53. This morning it was 43 when I got up and in the house it was down to 60. I just wanted some cocoa to warm up. Spent the morning under a blanket and I'm about to get under it again. I did get some dishes washed and soaked a basket/drawer that goes on the one cabinet. I've started Cassie's veggies, but still need to add some peppers. Guess I'd better go do that.

This afternoon I had a pickleball clinic, so actually got some exercise. I was a little unsure I should even bother after someone yesterday told me "you know it's for intermediates." Well, yes, I did go through her beginner 4 week clinic. She had told us to play for a month or so (actually, it's been 2 months) and then take the intermediate. I felt like people didn't think I should go to an intermediate clinic since sometimes I still have problems hitting the ball. They do too, though. Then at the end of the clinic today the ones from the Tues/Thur games I play in were all in a huddle discussing getting together for a lesson with her. I just feel like I am just not good enough (not meaning at the sport) to have anything to do with. So tomorrow I will not be sitting near any of them. I wouldn't want to get them dirty by sitting near me or talking to me.

What I had eaten the other day was a little roast beef and some gravy. I ate some of that for dinner yesterday and had a problem again. For lunch it seemed to be okay. I can't afford it very often, but it seemed good for a change. It wasn't a fatty roast. Maybe Cassie can eat that kind.

Plateaus are a pain.

I am starting the month off right. I'm eating better and I'm still getting my steps in. I am resisting a lot of temptation. I got tons of paperwork done yesterday and mailed the bills and correspondence off today. I had my first appointment of the month today with my dentist for an exam and cleaning. No cavities. No gum disease. But.................. my bruxism is so bad that the dentist says I am going to destroy all my crowns so I have to wear a dental guard to bed now. My sparkfriend, (Cindy) has the same problem and I think she said she had a dentist made dental guard and didn't like it and went with an OTC one instead and likes it better. Here the dentist mouth guard is custom made and costs $160 and the OTC ones are around $20 so I am thinking that is what I want to try first. A thin one. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. I went by my doctors to pick up 8 pages of questions for my hubby and me to fill out for my Medicare Yearly Wellness Visit and they had just tried to call me about them. I finally got my brace for my broken wrist that won't heal so that should help me a lot. I had 5 choices to try and this one was the most comfortable one.

You must be eating something that is causing your intestinal problems. My doctor says that doing an elimination diet is the best way to find out what the problem is.

I am overwhelmed with work too. I just keep chipping away at it. I rest a little and then get back to it.

Have a great October!

-The food here is terrible, and the portions are too small. - Woody Allen

We had a mild 76 today. Now it is cold; down in the 50s. Tomorrow will only get to the low 60s for a high.

I started working more on one of the counters in my kitchen and getting it cleaned off. It's a butcher block counter and it is all stained. I tried getting it to blend all together, but no go. Guess the only way is to sand it. Of course, getting everything off there means my table is all covered up again and the sink is full again. I just can't seem to get ahead. That is just the first room. Had the gut problems hit every time I started to do anything in there, too. I am so tired of that. Not sure it will let me make it to pickleball tomorrow and that is the only time my gut doesn't get upset.

I hope everything goes okay for you the coming month.
