Thursday morning my internet server shut me down for lack of payment. When my credit card got hacked in August I got it changed and called the places that I have an automatic payment made. Something got switched so no payment was made of September / October so things went haywire. I got the net reinstalled but then another problem arose that did not get rectified until this afternoon. I now have 17,800+ unread e-mails that I have to go through. ugggggghhh

It is going to be the last of the good days with sunshine and in the 40ís and light wind. I will then become cloudy and in the 30ís for at least the next week. I guess that is the average temperature for this time of year. It is almost November so it is expected. Tonight is Halloween and I am ready for it. I donít get a lot of trick or treaters but like to give out candy till about 7 and then it seems like it gets to be the much older rowdy kids so I shut things down. Yesterday was a better day and I did my 60 minutes of walking and had a total of 10,160 steps for the day. I did get out and I finished putting the garden ornaments away and covered the rose bushes. I also got the bird bath cleaned and on the deck and filled so now they will have water all winter. It is plugged in now. I rolled up the hoses and got my nice glass planter emptied and washed and I will put my chives and parsley in it today. I feel like I actually got something done yesterday and today will finish things up. The only thing I wonít get done this year will be to cut back the Iris and some of the plants in the garden. They will be there in the spring. I canít do the bending to get that done. I am off now to get my meds done and get busy for the day. I am anxious to get the outside done today and get that stress out of my life. Hope you all have a good Halloween whatever you do.

My Crown Plant has bloomed and the monarchs have found it so I have caterpillars and soon chrysalis and then more monarch butterflies! The Crown Plant is a cousin to the Milkweed so is the host to the monarchs in the tropics.

I am still under the weather but delighted to see the butterflies back in my yard.

It is Tuesday and going to be about the last of the nice weather here. We had a little light shower during the night and today will be sunny and in the 50ís but may be windy. I hope to finish up outside with what has to be done. There are lots of things I could do but only a few that have to be done. Yesterday was a little better and I did get my 60 minutes of walking with a total of 9,671 steps for the day. I did three loads of laundry so up and down the stairs I went. I also got out and put the garden decorations away and filled all the bird feeders. I was glad to get those things done. Hope today will be just as good and I can get things done once and for all. I am sure it will help my mood a lot. LOL. Have a great day.

The nose leak has slowed down from a gush to a dribble. I got some over the counter
tablets yesterday that has helped with the congestion. There was a place at the counter of the grocery I went to to donate to the typhoon. I plan to give more later but I did put in some then. There has been a local boot drive that brought in I think $29000. People here are very giving and have experienced bad typhoons in the past. To have to ship in drinking water is very expensive. Saipan has a couple of water places who have been producing and giving it away. The one in Tinian was destroyed so now it comes in by air or ship. Getting two bottle of water a day really is not enough when working in this heat.

I am still under the weather but doing better.

Take care everyone.

Jane

If all else fails and you want to help with the typhoon relief send a check to the Guam Salvation Army and mark it for Yutu Relief. I am sure they will put it to good use.

Jane - thanks for the good information. I knew about Red Cross.

SHARON - glad the stay helped Hailley calm down a little. I love Hallmark movies and I love Christmas so two great things coming together! LOL

Krys, Tina is my daughter and they stayed in the lower level of the house and she kept the dogs down there unless she was up here and then they were up here with us. It really wasn't all that bad. They all got along and that was good because Hailley was not a nice girl at that time and I was afraid it would be a battle but it worked to my advantage because she got to be so much butter after their stay.

Good morning. Today will be a nice day with maybe a little shower or two. We are going to be coming to the end of our nice days in a couple then it will be cold. I will take every nice day that is left. Yesterday was a little better but still didnít get a lot done. I did do 60 minutes of walking and had a total of 8,172 steps. I did a few little things around the house but it wasnít until late in the day that things got better. I did read some and finished a book and caught up on some more of the taped shows. If I keep it up I will be all caught up and then what will I do. HallMark has started itís Christmas movie season and I am loving it. It does seem to get to be a little long by the end of December but I love that they are all clean, nice movies. That is what I like about HalMark. Today I have some things I really want to get done so hope that things will go well with my breathing. I will work on it.

Krys, Saipan and Tinian are not good but Guam is fine. We are about 100 miles from where the eye went across the Marinas and had only tropical storm winds which are not a problem.

Things on Saipan and Tinian are going to be bad for months as power lines and poles are down, gas stations were damaged, the air fields were a mess but are able to get relief planes in now.

The people need drinking water and non perishable food as well as bedding, towels, clothes, batteries, diapers, tents, tarps and other items that were destroyed in the typhoon. Many homes may have had cement walls but tin roofs. Homes which were supposedly typhoon safe had the windows blown out so the wind and rain came in.

If people want to donate to help with recovery Guam is collecting money and will be shipping things to both islands. You should be able to go on line, Type in Typhoon Yutu Recovery and find a place to help. Do not give through the Red Cross because most of the money goes to pay expensive salaries.

Jane

Jane - are the roads still real bad? Glad to hear the grocery store is open for you to get your food.

SHARON - how nice that you have such helpful friends. I can't imagine 5 dogs in one house, but it was more than a challenge.

Good morning on this Sunday morning. It is supposed to be the pick day of the weekend and be in the 50ís with sunshine and no wind. I would sure like to feel well enough to get outside today. Yesterday was another tough day and I didnít do much of anything,. I did get 50 minutes of walking and a total of 7,111 steps for the day. I will do better today. Tina did my grocery shopping for me yesterday and I havenít had to do that in a long while. It was nice to have time to chat with Tina and hear all about the work they have been doing in there home. Tina and Jim were the ones that lived with me a few years back while they built their new home. They have 3 dogs and I had two at the time so it was quite a challenge. It really went very smooth and it was quite enjoyable. It was nice to have someone cook for me every day. LOL. She is a great cook. I really missed them when they moved into their new home. Well enough for today. I need to go and get my nebulizer treatments and get on with my day. Take care and keep moving.

Feel better Jane.

Another day of house confinement so I am getting a little stir crazy. I may have to go to get groceries tomorrow because the cupboards are bare... I did not buy perishables last Wednesday because if we lost power things would spoil. I am also going to miss the lunch tomorrow with the Monday Lunch Bunch.

Hope you all are doing better than I am at this time.

Good morning. It is foggy and going to be a fairly so so day. Temps will be in the low 50ís today with clouds and maybe a little sprinkle or so. It is wet out there so will not be doing much in the yard. I will see what happens. Yesterday was not a good day but I got through it. I did 30 minutes of walking and had 6,304 total steps for the day. I only did a few small things around the house. I have to say that my breathing was not good and just didnít seem to be able to get any air in. I donít know if it is blockage or just COPD. Hope today is better. I will try to make it better in all the ways I can.

Good morning. It is going to be a good morning and I am the one who will make it good. I have things to do inside and things to do outside so will see which ones work today. Yesterday went by too fast but I did do my 60 minutes of walking and had a total of 10,343 steps for the day. I had my eye appointment yesterday and they said that both eyes are healing great and looking really good. I will have another appointment in a month and that is when they will check to see what prescription I need for my glasses and if I need new ones. I will also go off my glaucoma drops at that time to see if I can go without them. It would be nice not to have to do drops every day. I did do some small daily chores around the house and then Barb and I went out for dinner. It was good to see her and have a nice visit with her. She was tired after being out of town all week so we didnít hang out too long. Just time to enjoy each others company. I am hoping to get some good things done today and will work at it at a very slow pace so that I donít overdo it. Hope you all have a great Friday.

Jane, hope things don't develop into a full blown cold. Feel better soon. Picture looks devastating and will keep them in my prayers. Glad that you are safe.

Jane - so glad you are okay, but certainly sympathetic to those two devastated islands. Saw some on the evening news and it looked pretty bad. I imagine it will be a while before that airport can be used again.

SHARON - glad you got about and had some chores accomplished.

A friend sent this picture. I think this is the Saipan airport after Super Typhoon Yutu. If not then it is the airport at Tinian.

Good morning. It is cloudy here today and chance of showers. Looks cooler and cloudy for the next 3 to 4 days. Yesterday was a better day. I was able to walk 60 minutes and more and had a total of 10,240 steps for the day. I did a bunch of little chores around the house. It was the first day this week that I didnít have somewhere I had to go. Today I have an eye appointment and them I donít go back to the eye doctor for a month. Thank goodness for that. I did get the chair cushions for the deck chairs put away for the year and that is good that I got them in before they got wet again. I hope to get out and get some more done today if it isnít raining all day. I would like to change and fill some of the bird feeders. It will still depend on the weather. Hope you all have a good day.

Super Typhoon Yutu devastated the islands of Saipan and Tinian. The meteorologist are saying it was the worse storm for the last century for the states. The Northern Marianas are part of the Untied States. I never lost power and the winds and rain here was minimal.

There are people here gathering things to send to the people of Saipan and Tinian within the next few days. They are putting things into a 40 foot container to ship it there. Things like bottled water, diapers, clothing, bedding, candles, batteries. There are two islands who really need the help.

Good morning. We are going to have a few clouds today and maybe a little sprinkle of rain too. Yesterday I had my ultrasound and that was about all that got done. I had a very hard time breathing and did a lot of coughing and needed to clear the airways. I finally got that done last night. Now I feel good. I walked for 45 minutes with a total of 7,131 steps for the day. I will have a much better day today. Not sure what I want to do but need to get outside and put the hoses away for sure and maybe fill the bird feeders and get the bird bath up on the deck and plugged in for the winter.

Jane, stay safe and hope you don't lose the electric.

Krys, hope to hear something today regarding the ultra sound. Not sure how long it will take.

I am doing this early because I may have no power later this evening. Super Typhoon Yutu looks like it will pass between Tinian and Rota sometime tonight / early tomroow morning. The eye is big! At this time Guam is expeceted to experience tropical storm strenght winds but that could knock out our power. If you do not hear from me I am fine. My house is concrete including the roof, the metal shutters are secured on the windows. If we end up without power tomorrow I will go to a hotel for the night so I can use my bipap machine. People here who are living in substandard housing are being urged to go to typhoon secured shelters.

Remember, a typhoon is another name for hurricane.

Take care everyone.

It is Tuesday and I have a ultra sound of the abdomen today to check the gall bladder. The doctor would like to see what it looks like. I finally told them about the attacks that I think are gall bladder attacks so they scheduled the ultrasound. The dentist went well yesterday and I am now good for another 6 months. It was a up and down day yesterday. I had a tough start and then was good and able to get in 60 minutes of walking with a total of 7,834 steps for the day. I did three loads of laundry and several small cleaning chores and then the day changed and things got rough again. Was up most of the night and sure hope I can get things cleared out before my appointment this morning. Enough said. I am going to have a better day today. Off to get ready. Hope you all are well and have a good day.

Krys, I think the uroligist would have recongnized a cyst. She seems baffled and does not want to wait around until it develops into something else if it is worse.

Our Tuesday lunch bunch went to Olive Garden today. It opened at the beginning of the month. It was great. Within a year we will also have Red Lobster. When I came to Guam in 1964 we did not even have a Pizza Parlor or McDonalds. We had one fast food place that served cabbage on their hamburgers because lettuce did not survive the boat trip here. I cannot remember when we got Dairy Queen here...

Thank you for your prayers and kind comments. It's still raining in some parts and there are land slides thousands of persons have been displaced lost everything but everyone is chipping in to give assistance. This is the fourth day since we've been having black clouds and grey skies very unusual for us here even in the rainy season but God is in control.

Today I took my car to be tested for being roadworthy this is mandatory by the Ministry of Transport here. The fee used to be $165 TT and over the past two years it has gone up to $3oo TT . thankful that my car was passed so I don't have to worry about that for another 2 years. If one is stopped by the police and found to have an out dated or no sticker to the effect the fine in court is $5,000TT! so it is beneficial to pay $300 up front and be on the safe side of the law.

Hope everyone has a blessed time of day
Much Love,
Roz.

Roz, prayers have been sent. Glad that you are safe.

Jane, hope that the spot in the bladder turns out to be just a watch and see. Hope the news from the oncologist is good news.

We are heading into another week and I am going to do better this week. It is going to be warmer and sunny this week and I will try to get out a little to enjoy the weather, Yesterday was a better day and I did my 60 minutes of walking and a little more with a total of 11,139 steps for the day. I got a bunch of small clean up chores done that needed doing and had a really good breathing day. I watched a few of my taped shows and read some and just plain had a good day. I made soup in the crockpot for dinner last night and it was pretty good. It was a German type soup with sauerkraut and sausage. Easy to make once it is in the crockpot. I have been trying new recipes lately and enjoying that. With the weather being nice there are a lot of things I can do outside that do not require bending over or lifting heavy things so will try to work on those after today. I have a dentist appointment early this morning and need to do laundry today. Hope your day goes well.

Oh, Roz, the storms keep coming... I am thankful that you and your family are safe.

I saw the urologist today. There is a spot in my bladder that she is not sure about. It is raised and red but has not become a polyp since she noticed it first four months ago. She is sending me to an oncologist for possible treatments. Everything else looks fine and the lab done on my urine was good. We will see.

Take care everyone.

Just about managed to get into and out of the city on Friday before the heavy showers thank God.

Since then we've had the worst floods in 100 years due to excessive rainfall and the entire North of the island is a disaster, homes businesses cars all lost in the flood the main highway is impassable the south bound lane is under water so the north bound is being used as a dual carriageway and some of it is still under water only trucks and SUVs are allowed. One of the largest rivers burst its bank. My family and I are not affected as we live in the South of the island.

As a result many schools in the North have no school tomorrow and lots of persons who live in the South and work in the city cannot go to work, this includes my older daughter.

The Government , private persons, churches , and many organisations are all giving the needed assistance but it is not an easy task,.please remember Trinidad in your prayers , My family and I are safe and not affected .
The forecast is more rains expected until Wednesday. Lord have mercy!!

Hope everyone has a great week.
Much Love,
Roz.

Jane - I do use the aloe for burns. How wonderful that you are teaching the children the majesty of God.

SHARON - good job on all those steps! I agree, sunshine can give us energy.

Good morning. It will be warmer today and less wind and sunny. I will take every nice fall day we can get. Yesterday was a better day and I did my 60 minutes of walking and more and had a total of 10,334 steps for the day. I did a few little projects around the house of putting things away every day things. It felt good to be a little more active. Hope to do better today. I love the sunshine and I think it gives us so much more energy. I did read a little yesterday and even watched some more of my taped shows. If I am not careful I will get them caught up and that would be very good. LOL. Hope you all have a relaxing day today.

The Aloe Vera cactus leaf centers are good to put on scrapes, sunburns, other burns, skin irritations and some people boil the leaves and drink them for medicinal purposes.

I had a good day at church. I am teaching my Children's Church Class about Joseph and tying in his father Jacob/Israel as we have just finished studying about him and what Jacob had done in the past greatly affected what happened to Joseph. We reap what we sow.

Jane - I like having that plant around the house to but it sure grows fast and becomes root bound quickly!

SHARON - did you have a better day today?

Good morning on this lovely Saturday morning. It is supposed to be sunny but very windy today and cold. A high of 39. Yesterday was not a good day. I was just plain tired and couldnít get going. I was having a tough time breathing. I did get groceries in the morning and that is about all I did. It seems like the day was gone. I only did 40 minutes walking and had a total of 7,102 steps for the day. I guess my body must have needed the rest. I fell asleep in my chair before I got my last walk in. Today will be better.

Sharon, sounds like wonderful news about your eyes. What a blessing.

I went to a Ladies Fellowship this morning and then a friend stopped by this afternoon to get some of my aloe vera plants. She plans to plant them at her home and at our church school grounds. I have them in a big pot and it does not show that she took anything.
Tomorrow is Sunday. emoticon

Jane - happy to hear she has such a great support system.

SHARON - hooray for good news from the doc. Hopefully all those drops will go away!

Have dinner theater to attend this evening, so looking forward to that event.

Today is Friday and another weekend is here. It is going to be a cool and windy one for me so will be inside days for me. Yesterday I did finally do my 60 minutes of walking with a total of 9,217 steps for the day. I had my doctor appointment in the morning and it went well. He said the eyes were healing great and everything looks very good. Hopefully I will no longer need to use the glaucoma drops when this is over and I have been using a eye drop for inflammation in the right eye for several years now and I might even be able to get rid of that. I gave Hailley her bath yesterday and also made a nice loaf of bread and put some pork chops in the crockpot and they turned out so moist and tender. It was a new recipe and I know it is one I will use again. Today I hope to be able to do a few things around the house.

Good for you Sharon. Make sure you do the follow up with the doctor and eye drops.

Krys, the widow has a great support group here. She has friends who have spent the night with her and the daughter of that friend flew in yesterday evening so was here for the funeral. Her son is here and will be returning back to the states sometime next week. She has decided to stay here until spring because she does not want to face the cold winter.

The service was nice with people that the couple have worked with, bowled with and been active in other ways. Even a couple of poloticians showed up. A couple of Pastors officiated and we found out that one of them is a cousin to some ďadoptedĒ family members from Palau.

Jane - how said to lose a partner you've had that long. I imagine she's feeling pretty lost.

SHARON - so glad the surgery went well. The follow up appointments are important and I know you'll be happy to get them over with as well.

Well I made it through yesterday with flying colors and today is going to be a lovely day. It is supposed to be sunny, calm and 69 degrees. Now that is the fall like weather I love. Surgery went well yesterday and now it is just the pesky doctorís appointments and the eye drops to put up with. I am glad the surgery is behind me. I did get 60 minutes of walking in yesterday but that is about it. I had a total of 7, 678 steps for the day. I rested most of the rest of the day. Today I have my follow up appointment with the eye doctor and hope to get a little more done. Hope you all have a good day.

Sharon, hope the surgery went well and that you waited to get on the internet so there will be no damage.

I have not done much today.

I am going to the funeral of the 95 year old gentleman who passed away last week tomorrow. His son is back and it sounds like his widow will be going stateside for awhile. They were married over fifty years.

Sharon-----Hope all goes well with the eye surgery .two years ago I was preparing for mine since then I don't need glasses to see only to read fine print.

Krys----Lovely wedding photo.

Yesterday I actually did 3 hours yard work and it felt so good. Since my birthday I gained some weight and I'm trying hard to curb my cravings. I have been loosing 1 lb a day .

Even though I'm not back to my usual walking routine I'm glad that I'm doing some walking again and should start swimming again too.

Have a blessed and happy Wednesday
Much Love,
Roz.

Well, the day I have been waiting for has finally arrived. I have my left eye surgery today and that will be done with. Thank goodness. Boy, they sure know how to starve a person. My surgery wonít be until 2:00 so it will be a very long wait before I can eat. I am hungry already and it is only 6 in the morning. LOL. I think the worst is that I canít have water. I really miss that. They do allow a piece of toast with jelly on it. But just jelly. I didnít eat it last time and probably wonít this time either. Yesterday was a lovely sunny day and it was a little warmer. Today will be the same but a little more wind. I did my 60 minutes of walking and then some with a total of 12,417 steps for the day. I got all the trash and recycles out to their bins and out to the curb for pickup today and I did one load of clothes. I also did a few little things around the house and just plain stayed busy. In the rest times I watched some of my taped recordings. I sure am behind. I am still on Sundayís shows. I will get caught up but it will take time. I need to stay off of the tablet. Well, I guess I am off to get some things done. I want to get most of my walking in before I go so need to get started. Have a great day.

Krys, love the picture of your brother and niece.

It has been cloudy and rainy here today which means the temperature has been in the 70's instead of the 80's which has been nice.

Have a great day everyone.

Krys, she makes a lovely bride. Nice picture and good to see you back.

Good morning. We are warming up and the sun is shining. It is wonderful. Marshall was over last night and he mowed the yard and did a little clean up for me. I am so happy with him. I did my 60 minutes of walking and had a total of 9,134 steps for the day. I also did 3 loads of laundry and that took me up and quite a few stairs. I am ready for the left eye surgery tomorrow so will have to get things done today. I am hoping to get a few things done today. Canít wait to be done with this. If I had it to do over again I would wait till after fall clean up. Hope everyone has a good day.

Our Tuesday Lunch Bunch is down to four right now. We will have the widow of the 95 year old gentleman again after she returns from the states to visit her grands. Her son is here now to help with the funeral arrangements. She is 80 and very spry.

I did see the chiropractor today and my back and hips seem much better than they were a few weeks ago. I also did a load of wash.
