DH is doing well after surgery but is pretty much confined to staying put. I'm trying to keep up with all the things that need doing.

Glad you had the strength to get your errands done.

Where do you live that it is so hot? Hope it cools off and get better for you.

KRYS

So glad your eye surgery was so very successful.

JANE

Hope you get your meds soon.

I so understand about sitting on a chair that hurts your body. I have to be careful how I sit too.

Hope you are better today.

Dalton, my roommate Trish's son who lives with us, and Landon, her son who lives in California, and his girlfriend, Brooke, arrived about 8:30pm last night from California. Jim, the boys, dad, and Chris, their step mom came over and we had a nice visit. It is nice to have them here.

We had breakfast and a visit this morning, and then this afternoon, they all left to show Brooke the childhood places of the boys that they wanted to share with her.

I had not met Brooke before, and am so glad that I did now. She is a very sweet girl and fits right in. I love the boys, so it is nice.

Trish and Landon and I did a show together at my local Community Theater together about 6 years ago, and the three of us became good friends then. So, a few years ago, when Trish and Dalton moved back to Toledo to live, they moved in with me.

It is helpful financially for all of us, and we have a pretty good arrangement. I am grateful.

After they left, I rode my stationary bike, and took my shower. I will be going to pick up a clicklist order in a couple of hours with some stuff for me and mom and dad. I will take them their stuff after I pick it up, or maybe tomorrow depending on the amount of energy I have left. LOL

Wishing you all a great rest of the week.

Bonnie, they have hired 14 people here to help with the backlog. That will really only work if they have added people stateside.
Glad you are using your stationary bike.

Krys, glad your eye is much better.

Roz, praise God for His help.
Hope you get enough rain that things do not dry out so there ends up being fires.
So glad you posted.

We went to Red Lobster and sat under a tent for lunch. The food was great but I was having problems with the chair I was sitting in. I finally asked for another chair which the waiter was very nice about getting for me. When I finally got up to go home I could hardly walk. I came home rested took all sorts of pain things and still hurt so I am posting on SP in shifts.
It has been beautiful here today until about sunset and then the black clouds came in and it poured. I am so glad I am in the house and dry.
I have had to get my insurance company to give me a 30 day supply of one of my meds because it has been stuck in Hawaii for two weeks.

Take care all.

Hope everyone is keeping as well as can be expected in spite of
.
Today I had so many errands to take care of and I did not feel like going out but by God's grace I went and was able to accomplish all so far.

We have been having such very hot weather these past few weeks not much rain at all even though it's the rainy season but I'm not complaining.

Tomorrow I hope to be outside by 6am so I can do some yard work before sunrise so we'll see how that goes.

Have a great night's rest everyone or a very pleasant day depending where you all are and when you do see this.

Stay blessed, stay safe,
Much Love,
Roz.

Thanks for the information. That makes sense with what has happened even here on the mainland with the mail service. Hope it improves.

Yes, we should have a nice visit.

Nice that your son called you.

Enjoy your lunch!

Kind of a dreary day here today. I am going to get up and get on my stationary bike in a little while. Kind of lazy with the dreary day. LOL

Bonnie, the problem is the postal service. Because so many people are ordering from the states there is a back long even worse that the Christmas one. They have just announced that the main facility will be open for pick of of packages for 24 hours a day. Not sure how long this will last. Also, two of the other offices will have extended hours. About time. My problem is the delay of getting things here from the states. I have home delivery but the one item was sent September 30, and is still in route. I will need these meds by ThursdayÖ
Sounds like the visit with Landon and his girlfriend should be fun.

Krys, I will pray for him. You be careful with your eye.

My son that lives here called this afternoon and we chatted. I am the one who usually calls him and my grands.
Going to Red Lobster for lunch tomorrow. My Tuesday group has a reservation for an outside table as there is no inside dining at this time.

Stay safe and well.

JANE

I hope at least some things, like getting your meds on time, will get back to normal soon. This has gone on long enough for some normalcy to return, especially in these important areas.

I did some house cleaning today. Dalton, Landon and Brook will be here tomorrow, and Trish had to work today and tomorrow, so I picked up some of the slack Won't kill me. LOL

Looking forward to the visit from Landon and Brook, his girl friend. I have not met her yet, so that will be nice, and will be glad that Dalton will be home.

Have a great week all.

Sharon, a belated Happy Birthday! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Hope it was a good one even with the snow. Potato soup and fresh bread sounds delicious!

Bonnie, I agree about the trade offs. One year when I was in the states and traveling in the mountains I found prices were about the same as Guam. This was at small stores and getting things there I guess difficult.
I do not think I would come out here as a retiree. If I had to return stateside I would not live in Oregon or Washington because of the wet coldness. I donít mind the wet but cold, ugggghhh!
I go through spells of seeing a chiropractor and have not since the pandemic started. When I go stateside I get shots in the lumbar area especially after being in so much pain when I flew stateside that I ended up coming home within days.

Krys, until this pandemic I have been able to get my meds within seven to fourteen days. Not true right now.

I went to church this morning and heard a good message. Afterward I stopped at Jamaican Grill and got a take out.

Do stay safe and well!

Jane - so glad you got your meds. I've lived overseas and we had to order Christmas presents in September, at the latest in order to get them on time from the States.

SHARON - oh my goodness, snow already! We're still trying to get rid of our 80'sF. Potato soup sounds yummy. One of my favorites.

Bonnie - sure hope this new chiropractor can help you!!

So sorry for poor Hallie. Hope she gets better and you both can sleep.

Snow already? That would be just too much for me. If I had my choice, I would probably live somewhere like Guam, with Jane! LOL But, I was born a midwesterner, and will undoubtedly remain one. LOL

JANE

So very glad your meds came in the nick of time! YAY

My friend on my other thread Michele, lives in Japan. She has told us how most everyone has worn a mask for a very long time. I suspect we will all have to get used to it too. Whatever it takes to keep all of us heathy.

She has also explained that they have some of the same issues that you have on Guam. There are some things she is unable to buy there.

It gives me a very different perspective on how others live, and I think that is a good thing. I am grateful for what we have, but I can tell that there are definitely good things about the smaller places where you are as well.

I guess life always has it's tradeoffs.

KRYS

Thank you for the good words regarding my back. It is a pretty big mess, but I have learned to live with most of it. LOL I used to always go to a chiropractor, but I stopped that about 1 year or so ago because it did not seem to be helping, and it was expensive.

I have decided that I am going to try a new chiropractor that my friend Pat goes to that is very close to my house and see if he can give me some relief in my arms, especially. We will see.

I know pretty much what to do and how to adjust for most of my issues, but a bit of help couldn't hurt. LOL

Have a great rest of the weekend all. Enjoy

Good morning. It is snowing lightly out there this morning and hopefully it will melt this afternoon. I would like Marshall to mow one more time this year and pick up the leaves. It is time to put the mower away and bring out the snow blower. I am not sure what I will do today. It will depend on how I feel. Tina will get groceries and I might just do some cooking today. I feel like some nice hot potato soup so might just make a big pot of that today with a fresh loaf of bread. Sounds good to me. Hailley was only up twice last night so that wasnít too bad. I feel for her when she gets like this and she sure does get demanding when I cut her food back. I will increase a little today but keep the treats down. Well, hope we all have a great day.

Bonnie, I do not think we will ever go back to what it was before March 2020. People in Japan have worn masks for a long time when they are out. We may have to do that also.
Glad you were able to vote in a short time. Glad you got some good Mexican food afterward.
Hope you back continues to improve.

Krys, yes, I am aware many business have closed forever. Some of them were in the process before the pandemic hit. I know many Kmarts have closed all over the mainland but many places have Walmart that they can go to.

I got up this morning and got my groceries for at least a week. I also got a McDonalds sausage biscuit without the egg or cheese. I have been getting coffee but I do not think I will get it anymore.
I put in a request for one of my heart meds back in mid September from off island. Things happened and it got delayed. This is Saturday evening and if I did not get the med today I would have to wait until Monday and then try to get some from a local pharmacy. But I would be out Sunday and probably Monday. The med came to my lock box just before 5:00 p.m. PTL! God is so good!

That has to be tough to have things shipped and for them to be half empty. Frustrating. Covid has been a tough thing for everyone, but, like your island and you all, some are suffering much more than others. So sorry.

KRYS

Have a good day.

My friend Pat, picked me up early this afternoon, and we went to the early voting building. The line was not nearly as long as before. I took a chair, but the line was moving quickly enough that I did not sit much, but leaned on the chair more than sat in it. Everyone was so nice and kind. That was wonderful. I think it took about 45 minutes or so to get in and vote. So not too bad at all. We then went to a downtown Mexican restaurant. It was a bit chilly, but we ate outside.

We had a nice visit, and felt good about getting out votes in

My back is pretty sore now, but I have been working on it with the theracane, and the heating pad, so it will be better.

Glad that is done

Looking forward to a good weekend, and wishing you all a good weekend as well.

Sharon, sorry you did not get the rain you need.
I hope that Hailley does not itch and is comfortable.

Roz, emoticon back at you! I have missed your posts.

Bonnie, I donít need a microwave right now but since I was at Kmart I checked would have bought one if they were in. I am not sure what condition a microwave would arrive if I ordered off island.
Sorry the rain interfered your your cousin get-together.
Sorry about trying to change your health care plan being so difficult. Glad you have a good retirement program that pays your medical bills.
Glad the stationary bike reduced your stress.
Nice to have a cat around to keep you company.

Krys, thank you. Tourism is our main income for the island. We have had businesses close and will not reopen because the lock down has lasted so long.

I am expecting meds from the states so have been checking my mail box daily.
My doTERRA oils came in with two bottles that have lost about half their ingredients. They are wrapping them differently so this is the second month this has happened. I will call them tomorrow. They use a different lid for the Deep Blue and after going in the air three times things leak.
I plan to get groceries tomorrow morning so hope to get to sleep early for me.
Stay safe and well everyone.

Our K mart stores are all gone as well. I do miss them. When I was about 18 and 19 years old, I worked at a local K mart store while I was in College. It was a pretty good job at that time.

JANE

Hope you can find a new microwave. Mine went out a while back, and I ordered one on line so I did not have to go into the stores. Do you have that available in Guam?

ROZ

Hi, back!

SHARON

Our weather is about the same as yours. I was supposed to meet with some of my cousins at a local park this afternoon, but the cousin that organizes these meet ups called and cancelled because of the rain.

It was ok as this was the first day that I could call my retirement system and make a change in my health insurance for next year. That is never fun. I called and spent about 2 hours on the phone with an agent, and the phone hung up. I called back and someone tried to get her to call me back, but she did not. So, I called again and talked to another agent. The first agent had puts notes out on my account, so we could go from there. By the time I pick a plan, and answered all of the questions, I was on the phone for another two hours, or maybe a bit more. Because I am changing from one type of plan to another, I have to call back on December 1st to complete the changes.

It is just something that I have to do at this time of year each year. It is kind of a pain, but I don't like to complain too much because my retirement system pays me a monthly amount of money in an account just for medical, and it covers all of my insurance costs. So, whatever hoops I have to jump through, I will. I am VERY lucky and I am very aware of that.

So, I was grateful to have my stationary bike to get on and ride to get rid of the stress from that. LOL YAY Stationary biking!

Took my shower and am now just resting with my roommates cat. LOL Dalton, who also lives with us is in California with his brother right now, and his cat is very needy. So, she is downstairs with me much of the time. It is an easy way to enjoy a cat. My girl died in March, so Bo, their cat, is company for me too.

Dalton, and his brother, Landon, along with Landon's girlfriend are coming here next Monday. So we will have company for a few days. That will be nice.

SHARON

Hoping that Hallie is feeling better at least. My friend Joyce has a dog with allergy issues, and I feel so sorry for her. Hope your girl gets some relief. I don't blame you for not giving her drugs if they make her feel bad.

Have a great rest of the day/evening all. Take care.

Good morning. It sounds like another windy day today with temps in the 40sí. We had just a very light drizzle yesterday but it only lasted a very short time. We need a good rain. Yesterday was so windy I was chasing recycles all over the yard as the bin blew over and stuff blew out. I really hate that when it happens. I doesnít happen often as those bins are really pretty heavy. Hailley got her hair cut and she is not as good as I hoped skin wise. I feel so bad and as Tina said there really isnít much I can do for her except to give her those drugs that are really hard on her body and at her age I am not going to do that as long as she doesnít seem bothered by it. As long as I can keep the itching under control that is all that counts. Well, I am hoping to get some things done today and time will tell. Hope you all have a good day,.

Sharon, getting interrupted when trying to get things done can be frustrating.
When merchants put things in the aisles which interfere with carts passing it is frustrating. I have complained before and was told that as long as there was three feet for passage it was allowed. It takes more than three feet to go around a corner. I could have passed if going straight in.
The scrape is not bad just irritating that I got it.

Bonnie, our outages are generally not for long except for after a typhoon/hurricane. Then they can be for days or even weeks.
I was looking for a microwave. Mine is usable but I did not want it to quit and not have a replacement. Kmart has been out for awhile from what I understand. I did get the underwear that I really needed.
So glad you could take your mom out for a ride.

Krys, Guam does not have any other big store such as Walmart. When tourism was big Kmart would be crowded with tourist buying things to take back to give to family and friends. This is especially true of the Japanese and is expected when someone travels.

I have not done much today. It is raining more again so cloudy and rainy off and on.
Glad we had a couple of sunny days.

Stay well!

Jane

Jane - glad you got your meds. ALL of the K-Mart stores in my area have closed down.

SHARON - you were just meant to have an easy restful day!

Bonnie - hope you had a nice ride with your mom. I'm sure she appreciates getting out.

Glad your eye is so good. I had a similar experience with my left eye, and was very glad. My right eye has nerve and muscle problems, but it is still better than it was.

Good luck with the other eye too.

JANE

What a pain that K mart does not clear the aisles. Hope you still got what you needed.

Glad you have the option of the motel. We are pretty lucky in that we don't lose power too often.

SHARON

I think an unproductive day is a good idea once in a while anyway. Unfortunately, I have more than a few. LOL

Our weather has turned cold and dreary today, I thought we had one more nice day coming, but I was wrong. Oh well, it is fall.

Going to pick up my mom and take a ride and spend a bit of time together.

Take care all.

Today we will have a front move through and again it will be very windy with clouds and cooler in the upper 40s. It is definitely fall. Yesterday turned into a day that didnít show any accomplishments. Barb stopped by with some books and the oxygen delivery guy was here and it seemed like every time I wanted to get started something came up. I ended up with a very slow day and napped in my chair. I knew I was tired with not having slept well. I donít feel bad about it because today is another day. Have a good one.

Bonnie, sorry the toilet is leaking. I live in a house that was built in 1928 so know all about the old houses, Have had mine renovated so it is not too bad right now. Thank goodness for my son as he helps with keeping things working.

Kry, hope the second surgery goes as well as the first and I am sure you will be so happy to have it done.

Jane, It is nice you were able to get out and get some shopping done. Hope the scrape isn't too bad and hope the fix the problem. Sounds like you had a busy day,.

Sharon, wow 5,213 steps!
Fish can sure be smelly. Hope the smell is gone by now.
Glad Hailley had a good bath that should help her skin.

Bonnie, batteries that would last long enough for the power to come back on would really be expensive and I would probably need more than one.
Sorry your toilet is leaking but having a house that old can be fun.

Krys, most, if not all our hotels have backup power because we have enough typhoons they are needed.
Glad your one eye is doing well and hope you can get surgery on the other eye soon.

I finally got to Kmart today looking for underpants. I really needed some new ones. I had not been there since February! The place was almost empty! I use an electric cart but the aisles were blocked with circular baskets so hard to get into. I ended up scrapping my ankle so sought a manager and reported the problem. She apologized and said she usually checks the aisles when she comes in but had not today.
The day had been sunny when I left the house but when I came out of Kmart it was pouring! I waited awhile but finally walked to the car and was soaked by the time I got there.
I had ordered meds from the pharmacy where my primary doctor is so went there to pick them up and came home.
I was supposed to go to church this evening but was still wet and cold when I got home so stayed home.

Stay safe and well everyone.

Jane

Jane - smart alternative, hopefully the hotels don't lose power as well.

SHARON - yes, the charcoal should help with the fishy smell.

Bonnie - I am still awed at what I can see. Go back the 22nd for final check-up and hopefully can set up the other eye's surgery. Thanks for asking.

I am very blessed with people in my life. I am grateful.

How are your eyes doing?
JANE

I looked into getting a battery for my C pap one time some years ago. At that time it would have been about $900, so too much for me.

Glad you were able to have an outing and enjoy yourself.

SHARON

Glad you were able to get the frig cleaned out. Always feels good to accomplish something.

Good for you for walking. You did great.

Rode my stationary bike and sat in the sun reading my Kindle. It was a lovely day.

My downstairs toilet is leaking into the basement. It is either the toilet, or more likely the soil pipe. My friend Dennis is working so he cannot get over to fix it until Sunday, I hope. We will get along with one toilet, and I will just the downstairs toilet very little.

Living in a 104 year old house one gets kind of used to these issues. Hopefully it is something he can fix for me.

We will see.

I had a pretty good day in spite of the toilet.

Take care all

Good morning. Another day with wind but a nice fall day. I did get my fridge cleaned out yesterday and feel great about it. I need to do the freezer today and then get outside. Still have lots I would like to get done out there. I will see how the day goes. I did walk 20 minutes yesterday and had a total of 5,213 steps for the day. It was a good day. Hailley had her bleach bath too so that is done. I am hoping today is as good as yesterday.

Bonnie, I have read several of the prey series and am now reading a book call Holy Ghost by him. It is pretty good so far I do like his writhing.

Krys, I found that it was fish that had leaked when it was thawing out. I thought I had gotten it all up but seems like I didn't. It still has a little bit of odor even after a good scrubbing but I put a couple pieces of charcoal in there and that should take care of it. It seems much better already.

Jane, it is good that you use it when lying down because you are so right that you could fall asleep and that is not good to be without it. Glad the storms are done. Nice that you were able to have lunch with the seniors.

Sharon, sorry about the wind and not much rain that you need.
At this point I think 2,156 steps in a day is great.
I use my bipap machine when I lie down even if it is to read because if I fall asleep I want it on. My machine is almost six years old so I am not sure how much I actually use it as it does not have what the newer machines have for keeping track.

Bonnie, we have not had a power outage for some time but if we have a typhoon we usually loose power for a day or more. Then I go to a hotel so I can sleep better.

Krys, I would have to be able to store a generator and then set it up and right now that would be really difficult. As I told Bonnie if I know we will be out of power overnight I will go to a hotel.

The rain and thunder storms have finally let up and we had a beautiful day today. I joined my senior ladies for lunch at a nice outdoor restaurant where we could enjoy the breeze and beautiful beach and ocean.
We all wore our masks except when eating.

Hope your day is good.

I use a C pap at night too. I hate it when we lose electricity. We are pretty lucky, and it doesn't happen often, but it is tough.

SHARON

Have you read the Prey series, with Lucas Davenport? I enjoy those.

I think you did well to walk at all with the difficult weather.

I am having a lazy morning. Will get on my stationary bike in a bit.

Picking up a Clicklist order from Kroger later this evening.

Take it easy!

Good morning. I am hoping today will be a much better day. Yesterday the wind was terrible. It did blow in a little rain last night but it wasnít much. Yesterday was a very bad breathing day and I got nothing done. It was a struggle to walk across the room so only walked about 5 minutes and just made 2,156 steps for the day. Not too impressive but that is okay because today will be much better. I will hopefully get some more outside work done and I need to clean my fridge because there is a strange odor when I open the door. Not pretty. I think my jar of sauerkraut is leaking. It will be windy again today but not near as bad as yesterday and temps will be in the 60s so not to bad a day. Hope you all have a great one.

Bonnie, I love John Sandford and the Virgil Flowers series is good. Some language but a clean book. Krys sure glad the weather didn't turn out too rough. I did get some things done the day before yesterday but yesterday was a bust.

Jane, We had some rain last night too but no severe weather. The wind yesterday was terrible. It was one of those days where the garbage cans blew around. How much time do you use your bipap machine? Didn't realize you used one.

Bonnie, glad you have had some warm weather. I am sure the rain is needed.
You are wise to ride your bike after cleaning.
I am not sure if I have read any John Sandord mysteries.
So glad the Laura and Derek took you to dinner in honor of your birthday.
Do wait about going to Florida because of this pandemic.

Krys, glad you avoided the tornadoes. I have never been in one.
My son is doing okay. He has not seen my grandson for about a month because of the pandemic and he is working. There is also concern of giving the virus to my grands mom.

Sharon, glad you got in 3,506 steps. How many hoses do you have?

Last night we had several thunder storms during heavy rain. The phone call with my son got disconnected then at midnight the power went out during another heavy rain. I came back about 40 minutes later. I use a bipap machine so breathing without it is a challenge. I was glad when the power came back on.
I have had a quiet day. I did check my lock box for mail as I am expecting medicine and donít want it to sit in the heat.
Heard Kmart here is closed for deep cleaning because some of the staff has covid. They plan to be open tomorrow.

Stay safe and well all.

I ended up having a very nice day.

After I posted this morning Derek called me and invited me to dinner with him and Laura. They are my friends who lived with me. Laura moved in with me in 2003, and Derek and she got together and he moved in with me and Laura in about 2005. They got married and lived with me until 2010 when they bought their own house.

We are very close and they are very good to me. So, I had my last Birthday dinner tonight. They took me to a nice restaurant and we had a great time.

They are selling their home, and moving to Florida next month. I will miss them, but this will be a good move for them, so I am happy.

I told Derek, I would come to Florida after they get settled, and he told me "I will buy you a ticket". They are really wonderful friends to me.

So, while I am sad that they will be gone, I know that we will keep in touch and stay close.

Life is about change.

Anyway I had a good day today.

Take care all.

I am on a John Sandford kick, so I am reading one of the series with Virgil Flowers. They are murder mysteries for the most part. I never know what the name of the book is because I read on my Kindle and I don't see the cover. LOL

Not sure what I will do yet today, but it looks like it will be a good day.

Good morning. Today is going to be a very windy day with sunshine and then a temp in the low 70s. I am hoping to get out and work outside a little again today. I would like to get the bird baths cleaned and all the feeders filled replaced. Then I can put the last hose away. Yesterday was a fair day with about 12 minutes of walking and total of 3,506 steps for the day. I did get out and got some things done. It wasnít a lot but it got me started. Hope you all have a good day today.

Prayers that you girls are all safe from the bad weather.

We are having unseasonably warm weather for a couple of days, but it is supposed to cool off tomorrow. We are to have some rain as well, not sure it it is from the storm or not. Sometimes we do have rain and weather as a result of the storms.

Did a bit of housework today. Took my small area rug out to the back deck and sprayed it with rug cleaner and cleaned it up a bit outside. It came out pretty well. It is not an expensive rug, but it lends a bit of dressing up to the living room

Ran the sweeper and cleaned a couple of the other floors a bit. It is very hard on my back to do housework so I don't do it until I really have to. LOL

Rode my stationary bike after for an hour. If I ride my bike first, I am done. So. it was a good day. Sat in the sun on the back deck and read after my shower.

Had some leftover chili in the freezer for dinner.

A decent day.

Wishing you all a lovely rest of the weekend.

Sharon, 3,271 steps is more than I am getting in.
Glad to hear that Marshall is mowing your lawn again. Does he chat with you while he is there?
Glad Hailley is doing well.

Bonnie, how wonderful that you could take your mom to visit some friends and have lunch together. And your dad came to fish in a pond!

Krys, glad hurricane Delta is not really affecting you. Showers are bearable.

I went to the senior hour to get groceries for a week or more this morning. Not buying a lot of frozen items because if we have a typhoon and power outage I do not want to throw a bunch of food away.
I almost turned the clock off and went back to sleep because I had little sleep last night. Hope that does not happen tonight.
I have not done much else since coming home.

Take care and be safe.

I think you are doing really well with your steps. I took yesterday and today off from riding my stationary bike, but will ride tomorrow.

I am kind of tired. We had a lovely weather day today, in the low 80's and lots of sun. I picked up my mom, then picked up her cousin, June, and took them to their friend Mary's house. We had a little lunch and sat on the back porch It was very nice.

Mary has a pond in her back yard, and my dad came a little later so he could fish. He was still fishing when we left. LOL A pretty good day.

JANE

So nice that you love where you live.

We could use some of that rain, and we may get some next week.

Have a lovely weekend, all.

Here we are at another Friday and this week has not been very good for getting things done. I need to look at what went wrong and try to fix it. I will start with planning one project for today and get it done. I will see if that will work. I was tired and napped a lot yesterday and only walked for about 12 minutes. I had a total of 3,271 steps. It is time to call for the maintenance service on my furnace so will do that today and see if I can get an appointment to have it checked out for the winter. I need to pick up after Hailley as Marshall will mow today or tomorrow. It is supposed to be so nice here today that maybe getting out to clean up after Hailley will get me moving on somethings that need to be done outside. I guess time will tell as I see how the day progresses. Hope we all have a good one.

Krys, Hailley loves all the attention she can get.

Bonnie, glad you were able to visit with family and the kids enjoy your company too.

Jane, I would mind this weekend being wet but it doesn't look like it will be. I need to get back to my book. Maybe a little today.

Sharon, 5,101 steps! I am impressed!
Weather in the 70ís sounds nice.
Glad you are breathing better.
Good that Hailleyís skin is improving.
Thank you I really do love the island and people who live on it.

Krys, staying safe for those of us in our 70ís is really important.

Bonnie, how delightful that you have ďgrandsĒ who make a big deal of your being around.

Guamís weekend is wet. Not real hard showers but all day long with gray skies.
I have read today but not much else.

Had kind of a lost day today It was a beautiful weather day.

Went to my cousin's granddaughter's house and visited with her and her two daughter's, who call me "Gramma Bonnie" and make a big deal over me. LOL

That was nice.

Sat in the sun on my back deck and read my book. But not much else.

Talk tomorrow.

Jane - working hard on staying safe, as I know you are too.

SHARON - hope your day was as nice as you hoped. Give Hailley a pet from me.

Today will be a lovely day with more sunshine and not quite so much wind today. It will be in the 70s. I really do need to get out and get the hoses put away and do some things today. Yesterday was a much better day and I did walk 20 minutes and had a total of 5,101 steps for the day. I didnít really get a lot done but did do some small chores around the house. I am breathing better again so that helps. Hailley is starting to show signs of skim improvement and will get a haircut again next week so that will let me really see where we are at. She is one real pain but very loved. Hope it is a good day for all of us.

Bonnie, good job on the bike.

Krys, I am sure the air quality was fine, It was just my copd and mucus blockage that I had to break up and get up.

Jane, It is good that you have such a nice island to live on and that you enjoy it.

Sharon, sorry your breathing cut up so you were not as active as you would like. Still 3,011steps is nothing to sneeze at.
I will check what is brought me next time and not get served white rice.

Bonnie, until my son started working as I flight attendant I had only been to the states once when my brother took me and my sons.
Glad you are getting your bike back.
I love this beautiful island with the ocean around us and the warm weather year round.
Krys, thank you the doctor was impressed.

I havenít done much today.

Do stay safe.

Bonnie - indeed, Buffalo always got the wet lake-effect snow and it pretty much was normal to have snow tires on by Halloween and not take them off until May. I know you are happy to get your car back.

Jane - that's great news about your ability to walk so much better! Sorry to hear your food order wasn't correct; I hate when that happens.

SHARON - sorry to hear about your breathing issues. Is the air quality bad in your area?

Sorry about having a bad day. I Think you did really well for a tough day.

Hope you are better today.

JANE

How nice that your son is a flight attendant. Great that you are able to travel.

Guam sounds like a lovely place.

Rode my stationary bike, and now am going to pick up my car. They finally found out which little fuse, or whatever, was causing the problem saying that my started was faulty, so I am going to pick it up now.

Have a happy day,night.

Well, here we are at another mid-week. This week is going by fast. I am going to get outside today and get some things done. Yesterday turned out to be a very rough breathing day and I didnít get anything done. I did walk for about 12 minutes and had a total of 3,011 steps for the day. Not to impressive but it sure could have been worse. I rested most of the day. I had a good nights sleep last night after finally clearing my airways so am breathing so much better for today. Hope it is a good one for all.

Bonnie, lunch with a friend sounds really lovely. Sorry you didn't get to vote.

Krys, Hailley is slowly improving but is not good yet. She gets another haircut next week so that will tell me more.

Jae it is good to hear that the knees are better since the shots you had in them. It is hard when these places mess up our orders and not a good time to do it. I am sure any business they get is precious to the stores right now.

Sharon, 5,691 steps is a lot especially on the stairs.
Glad you could get out and do some yard work before the winter weather set in.
Glad the cake was good to eat.
Yes, now my nails do not snag on things. I had trouble cutting them so there were no snags.

Bonnie, glad you were able to have lunch with your friend even if you were not able to vote. I plan to vote on November 3, but will stay in my car and have them come to me. If you have a handicap placard you should be able to vote in your car.
I am not a winter person so living on Guam is delightful. I do have some family here and as long as my son is a flight attendant and this pandemic is under control I can travel and enjoy family and friends in the states.

Krys, glad you got the patch off and can see the colors you have been missing.

I had a follow up appointment about the shots I had in my knees. I showed the doctor how I am able to walk without the cane and do so in my house. She was pleased with the progress. I will be getting a steroid shot in my left knee where it still hurts at times.
I stopped for take out at one of our restaurants and they really messed up my order. I will be very careful when I order from one of their places again.

This has been a long day. Stay safe!

Jane

So glad you are good. YAY

Well, if you grew up in Buffalo, I have NOTHING to complain about with winter here. LOL That is a very, very wintery place, from what I have been told. Never been.

Here in Toledo, Ohio, we do have some tough winter weather, but not like they do.

I am not a winter person, but I have never left here because of my family and community. When I was younger, I thought about leaving, but not now.

I have done some traveling and at this time in my life, I am very grateful that I did. My body does not travel well anymore, and because of my back, walking and sightseeing are not really possible. So, I am glad for what I have had.

Good luck with your recovery. Talk later.

Bonnie

Bonnie - thanks! Had patch removed and it amazing how much clarity and colors I've been missing! I grew up by Lake Erie in Buffalo, NY. It has been decades since I've been there. No family left there.

Jane - glad you had a chance to get your nails done.

SHARON - thank you, I'm amazed at what I was missing. How's Hailley doing?

My shoulder and arm do feel quite a bit better. I am going to leave my bed as it is and hope that is the reason I am better.

Took today off from exercise.

SHARON

That is a lot of steps. YAY

Yes, it is tough to lose our pets, but that is the way of the world. We were lucky to have them

My friend and I went to the early voting building. We wanted to vote, but the line was all the way around the building. We went to lunch instead. LOL

Actually, we were pretty sure that would be the way it would be. We were planning on going to lunch anyway.

We are going to try again. We have 30 days. Neither of us are physically able to stand in line and wait for any period of time, so we will just keep going until we can get in. Hopefully soon. I am glad that people are getting out to vote, so it really is good news.

We had a nice lunch and ate outside. I t is a nice day, but a bit windy. I guess we are going to have a very windy day tomorrow. I really don't like the wind, as I find it unsettling. I think, living so near one of the Great Lakes, Lake Erie, I should be used to it.

Have a great rest of the day/night.

Good morning. It is going to be a lovely day. It will be in the mid 70s with lots of sunshine but it will be windy. We are in the fire warning phase of fall. It is dry and with the wind it is a fire hazard. I think today will be a good day to get outside and leave the cleaning inside for the bad days. Yesterday was not a great breathing day but I did walk for 20 minutes and had a total of 5,691 steps for the day. I did 4 loads of laundry and that gave me lots of stairs for the day. I felt great but just short of breath and that is to be expected with my copd. Hope today is a great day for us all.

Jane, cake is good just a little overdone due to oven rack placement. Glad you got your toenails trimmed. It must feel good.

Bonnie, it is the season for aches and pains to rear their ugly heads. I know fall is a bad time for me, It is always hard when we lose a pet and I still think of my last two dogs and miss them so much.

Krys, glad the surgery is over and that things went well. It will be good when all the drops and that are behind you. Enjoy the new vision.

Sharon, 5,362 steps is terrific!
Sorry about the cake. Hope it taste good even if it is not what you expected.
Glad Hailley got her bath.

Bonnie, sorry you are still having trouble with your neck and shoulder. Arthritis is no fun.
Glad the sun is out.
Sorry you lost your cat. She was really old.
Yes, my friend has a lot of feral cats. They are in an enclosed area now but they are still wild.
Glad the changes in your bed has made a difference.

Krys, so glad the surgery went well. Do be careful.

I got my toenails trimmed this morning. That is the first times since February. I have worked at trimming them a few times but it is so hard. They really look nice now.

Yes, I am cutting back on the neck and shoulder exercises. The issues in my back and neck are so varied that it is difficult to know how much and what to do. I have been doing about the same amount for quite a while. However, I think with the changing weather, more damp and cold, that my arthritis is making a comeback. I wish it were just me, not the arthritis. LOL

I am pretty good today. The only bad area is my left shoulder and upper left side of my arm and back, but that is pretty normal. So, all in all, pretty good.

Not sure what I will do today. Just getting around. The sun is out, so will try to spend some time in the sun today.

SHARON

Sorry about the not so good experiment. That's ok, it's how we learn.

You did really well on your steps. WOW

JANE

Your friend must have a bit of a cat sanctuary. So good of her. I have done some rescuing in my day, but right now I am "catless". My roommate has a cat so she comes and visits me from time to time. I lost my girl to cancer in March. She was about 15 years old, but I still miss her.

The changes in my bed seem to be making a difference.

Thank you.

Have a great week. all.

Good morning on this Monday morning. The sun will shine and temps will warm but it will be very windy. I have laundry to do so will stay busy again today. I walked 20 minutes yesterday and had a total of 5,362 steps for the day. I baked a loaf of bread and made a small pudding cake that I am not sure turned out very good. I will have to try again as I think the oven rack was too low in the oven and I think they got way too done. The flavor was good but they were overcooked. Gave Hailley her bath and did a few small everyday chores around the house. It was a good day. Hope yours was too.

Jane, it isn't all that much energy and I am determined to get my steps back up where they used to be and walk longer during the day. That is a lot of cats your friend has. I think it is just too many for one person to care for.

Bonnie, good job on the bike and it is so good that you ride that long.

Krys, ended up baking instead of cleaning the stovetop.

Sharon, 4,175 steps and planning to add another 5 minutes every day! Where do you get all your energy?

Bonnie, so sleeping with the bed in angles is really helping you? I sleep with a big pillow under my feet and lower legs which seems to help me.
You are doing great in riding your bike.
I am delighted with the sidewalks where the handicapped park.

Krys, if you play the games and join our team challenges you will be busy so I understand being careful.

I took newspapers to a friend who has a lot of cats (over 30) today. I usually give them to her when the Monday Lunch Bunch get together but we have not met since February.
Stay safe

Jane - glad they got that road way paved. It will be nice to be on a team I'm not a leader of. LOL Mine keep me very busy, but I will drop in as often as I can.

SHARON - how's the stove-top coming along?

Bonnie - it might do well to cut back on some of those exercises or do them in very small amounts to start with and build up from there.

You are doing a great job being consistent with your exercise. WOO HOO. That is so important.

I slept well again last night. I do feel better again today. So I am pleased. I was also doing some exercises for my back and shoulders that I have decided that maybe I was overdoing, so I have cut down on them. Not sure just what is helping, but glad something is. Sigh.

Rode my stationary bike for an hour. Had my shower and feeling pretty good.

KRYS

Thanks for the encouragement, Thanks to all of you for the encouragement. I think it really helps me.

JANE

So nice that they put down sidewalks for the handicapped area. Because I also have difficulty walking on stones, and uneven ground, I know how important that can be.

So glad you had a nice socially distanced service.

Prayers for all of the people suffering from this horrible virus.

Take care and have a great week

Good morning and it will be a good day today. It will be near 60 today with sunshine and that will be nice. It has been very windy and cool here lately and so sunshine will be nice. I have lots of things to get done today. Yesterday I took for myself. I was tired and decided that a down day was okay. I did walk 15 minutes and had a total of 4,175 steps. I felt pretty good with that. I was able to keep my steps for the whole week at least in the 4000 range and that is good. I hope to add 5 minutes to my daily walks and raise the step level a little this week. I will finish cleaning the microwave today and work on the stovetop. That is a disaster. Hope you all have a good day.

Hope everyone has a pain free day.

Bonnie, I am delighted that it has grown so much.
How wonderful that you can change your bed so you can sleep better.
Hope you are able to ride you bike more.

Krys, I saw where you had joined us. We were doing fine with three leaders but when I go stateside in the summer it had been hard for the other two so we added a backup. It has really been a blessing because all of the leaders have had health and family issues that someone else has stepped in and covered for them. I seldom read blogsÖ
We have over 20 very active people on the team and then the others.
Nas, is a widow of a diplomat from Bangladesh and is stateside right now visiting family. As you can see we are very diversified

I was able to attend church this morning and yes we did pray for our president and his wife as well as others struck with the virus.
Our church has a gravel driveway and parking area which is really hard to walk in when I am not feeling well. While we were closed down they put in two cement walk ways in the handicapped area so now I can step onto cement and if someone is using a wheelchair they can get in the wheelchair on the walkway. What a Blessing!
We took our temperatures and names and cleaned our hands then observed social distancing.

Take care and stay well.

Nice that your seedling is growing. WOW!

I am much better today. I have a bed that is electric, and last night I put the knees up and raised the head more than I had had it. I think it made a difference and I am not nearly as sore today, and I slept long and well.

I was able to sleep in my back, but bent. LOL

I am hoping that it will continue to make me better.

I rode my stationary bike for an hour. I usually ride for an hour about 5 times a week, but this week it was only 3. I am ok with that, but hoping to feel well enough in the coming week to get back to 5 times.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend all.

Sharon, 4,750 steps! Wow, good for you!
I think we are at the age that we do not do as much as we use to but we expect to be able to. I am amazed at what you get done each day!
Water pills are my pain.

Krys, you would be very welcome to join us! Our group is not big but we do have fun. Sharon is also a member.

Bonnie, on your left side sounds about right. Glad the pillow helped alleviate the pain.
Sorry the weather has changed and you are in pain.
Hope you got a good nights sleep.

We need to pray for our President that he has a quick complete recovery.

I was going to take old newspapers to a friend for her cats today but it has rained off and on all day. Some thunder was put into the fray also. So I have done a lot of reading.
My avocado seedling is about two feet tall!

I was on my left side for the echo. My left shoulder is bad, so that was tough, it did help when she put the pillow behind my back against the wall. Sigh. It is over. YAY

SHARON

I think you get an awful lot accomplished. I ride my stationary bike because I have found a way to do it that it does not hurt my back. But, housework kills me. My friend Joyce will come and do it for me on occasion.

My body is hurting today pretty badly. I think it is the cold damp weather on the heels of all of the hot stuff we were having.

I did not ride my bike today at all. I had a luncheon this afternoon with my friends from work. We had a nice time together. I had a salad with chicken, egg, and cheese and lots of really nice vegetables.

I think that you are pretty positive most of the time. We all have a down day

JANE

So glad you were able to get your berries. Glad you are better.

Nice that the store was so helpful.

I am hoping to go to bed early tonight and sleep long and well. I have been somewhat restless this week.

Take care and God Bless friends.

Jane - your Grandmother's team sounds interesting. I will check it out.

SHARON - that's a good attitude to take that you don't have to do it all at one time. I can give you a written guarantee that all that stuff will wait for you. LOL

I find that I have become very negative and need to be more positive. I might not get the whole project done today but I will have part of it done today and that is a great feeling. It is not what I didnít do but what I did do that is important, I need to stop feeling I need to do it all at once and get on with my life and what I can do. It will never be what it used to be so I need to make it what it is and make it the best that I can. I did clean the oven and the oven drawer and the front of the stove. I even got it vacuumed underneath and so did accomplish something yesterday. I didnít get the stovetop done but that is another day. I walked 15 minutes and had 4,750 steps for the day. Today will be another cool day and I canít believe I am already using the furnace. I usually get to the end of October before turning it on. Hope we all have a great day.

Bonnie, good job on your riding the bike. You do well with your exercise. I have not had an echogram and would have a hard time with one. Jane, so glad that you are feeling better.. It is good that you discovered what your problem was and yes the water pill will do that to you.

Sharon, thank you for your kind words. No chemo is no fun. At least I do not have it going through my whole body.

Bonnie, when I had my echoís I was on my side. Hmmmm

Sharon, you are doing so well with your steps. Hope you keep up the 4,000 or more this week and then are able to increase them next week.

Bonnie, nice that you could take Tishís son to the park so he could walk and you read in the fresh air.
Sorry about the echogram. Did they put a pillow under knees? I have found that helps when I have to stay on my back.
Sounds like you had a great day.
If the goodie came from me my name, YIGOBUTTERFLY was attached. It it was from the team then it was Krys or another co-leader.

Krys, I am a leader on a couple of teams but very active on The Grandmotherís Fitness Club. That one, this one and a couple of others have helped keep my sanity during the lockdowns Guam has experienced.

I have been much better today.
I woke up about 4:20 before the alarm this morning and stayed awake so I could do my grocery shopping.
After I came home I called to see if Cost-U-Less had the triberry mix I wanted and to find out if they had a senior hour. The senior hour had just finished. I got them to hold two packages of the berries and two packages of prunes and then went for them around noon. Walked in got my temp taken went to the front desk and was out in a little over five minutes. What a way to shop!
I figured out why I had trouble holding the chemo on Wednesday. I forgot and took the water pill! Hopefully I will not do that again.

Take care and stay well.

Jane

Bonnie - thanks for the encouraging words. Most everyone has said it is an easy recovery, just tedious doing drops afterwards. I know about the echogram, they can be tedious. You can thank my marvelous co-leader for the goodie!

Jane - hope you feel better. I understand about the work involved. I have 7 teams, not all are very active.

SHARON - thanks, I'm ready to have it behind me.

So sorry about the tough day with the chem. Hope you are feeling better very soon.

SHARON

YAY on your steps.

Had a busy day today, I rode my stationary bike for an hour, took my shower. Then I took Dalton, my 2nd roommate, Trish's son, to the park and sat and read for an hour while he took a walk.

Came home rested for a bit then went to the clinic and had an echogram of my heart. That was NOT fun. Lying still is difficult for me, and to do so for over a 1/2 hour was tough.

Picked up my friend Joyce and we took a ride into the country and went to a small restaurant in a little town about 1/2 hour away.

Home and sitting in my chair. Take care all

Good morning. Cool today with temps in the upper 40s and windy. We had a light shower last night and might have another this morning. It is an indoor day. I have things to do and plenty of time to do them. Yesterday I ended up not accomplishing anything but it was a good day. I walked 15 minutes and had a total of 4,159 steps for the day. I must have been moving but happy to have the steps. I would like to stay in the 4,000s for this week and then hope to increase them next week. I am trying to build up my strength again. It is slow but that is how it should go. Hope you all enjoy your day.

Bonnie, hope you enjoyed the pedicure.

Krys, it will be done with and all behind you soon.

Jane, hope you are better rested and feeling better today,

I have been at the computer too long today. As a team leader I set up the October activities and since the chemo was rough yesterday sitting hurts.

I'll read you posts and make some comments tomorrow.

Sorry,

I do remember now about the cataracts Good luck. I found it to be a pretty easy surgery. Hope it is the same for you. Good Luck.

Jane - so sorry to hear your chemo went badly today. I don't expect to be out for maybe a day or two, with luck.

SHARON - thank you, I will hear tomorrow (Thursday) what time in the afternoon I'm scheduled.

Bonnie - Having cataract surgery on Monday afternoon and anticipate I won't be on here for a couple of days. Sounds like you might be getting an echogram test.

It sounds like our weather will be about the same as yours. Hopefully will see a bit of sun tomorrow.

Great job on moving around. I think that is so important.

JANE

I really would miss the seasonal fruits and veggies that we get. I would love your weather, but not that part.

I have an appointment today for a pedicure, and not much else. Will probably ride my stationary bike when I get home.

Tomorrow I am to have an heart test. Forget which one. I guess it is for my Medicare physical. Echo, I think. Have never had one before. The nurse told me I would have to lay still for about 1/2 an hour. With my back, that will not be fun. Sigh.

KRYS

I seem to have missed that you are having surgery, and when. Hope it all goes well.

JANE

So sorry about the chemo. That sounds so tough God Bless and wishing you a quick recovery.

Take care all.

It is going to be a nasty day today. It will be in the 50s with high winds and cloudy. One of the normal bad fall days. Lots of leaves will be coming down today. I intend to work in the house today. I ran the self clean on the oven so will clean it out today. Hoping to get some other kitchen clean up done. Yesterday was another good day. I didnít really accomplish much but did move a lot. I did walk for 15 minutes and had a total of 4,745 steps for the day. I took it a little easy and so feel pretty good again today. I am done with my prednisone so hope I keep feeling good. Letís all have a great day.

Bonnie, glad you were able to get back to the bike. It is so good to exercise and it really does help with depression.

Krys will be thinking of you when you have the surgery and glad the pre-op is done.

Jane so sorry the chemo didn't go well. Hope you feel better soon. I am sure it is really not pleasant to go through.

Sharon, 4,613 steps is a lot! You do have a lot of energy and that is great!

Bonnie, I miss the peaches. They come here so green and hard they really are not enjoyable. That is on of the things I missed this summer because I did not go stateside.
Hope your sinuses are better soon.
Cars are important so maintaining them is too.

Krys, good to hear your pre-op paperwork is done. We will plan not to hear from you for a few days after the surgery is done.
One of the blessings of Guam is the way the people care for the elderly. I try not to ask often but when I really need help I do ask.

The chemo procedure was rough and hurt today. I got poked with the catheter when it was inserted and yelped! I could only hold the chemo for an hour. I had four cups of water yesterday and a sip this morning but had a big build up while trying to keep the chemo in.
I am sitting at the computer for a short time and then taking a break.
This will pass, I just hope quickly.

Jane

You put me to shame. Great job.

JANE

Hope you can get your berries soon. I usually have a banana and in season a peach with my blueberries in the cereal. I will miss the peaches when they are no longer around.

Rode my stationary bike for an hour this morning . I really needed it mentally. I was feeling myself slipping into a bit of a depression, but think I am ok now. I did not ride for 2 days because my body was very sore, and I was fighting the sinus infection.

I think I am ok, now, and will get back into my regular routine.

Take care and have a good day/night. I have to get to the dealership and at least get some oil put into my car. Sigh.

Good morning. Going to be a breezy but a little warmer day today. I am hoping to get out and get a few things done like put hoses away and little things like that. It is time to start doing a few of those things for me right now. Yesterday was a great day and I walked for 15 minutes and had a total of 4,6153 steps for the day. I washed a load of rugs and a load of dog and chair blankets too. I got the living room floor vacuumed and mopped and did a few other small chores around the house,. It was a good day. I feel like the house is presentable again and will try to start doing some yard clean up now if I can do it. If not it will be there in the spring. Hope we all have a great day.
