Nina and Jan, here's praying you both are much improved tomorrow.

Nina, yes a real broom, though not a straw one. Long handle, the kind you would sweep a floor with. I save it for in my bathroom, only for the tub.

Poor hubby.

Used the newer snow blower this morning, it broke down. This is not the porch one, that is only for the porches.

Used the old truck this afternoon, it quit working, and blew a tire.

Used the old snow blower, it quit working...

He has had one awful day trying to get rid of snow. He didn't get the whole drive done, but at least it is 2/3 done and we can get out.

He is going to town tomorrow, and is going to check and see if he can get a plow put on his "new to us" truck with the large tires. If not, we will probably have to get smaller tires, about $1000 hubby says, before he can get a plow on it. We also still need a working snow blower for paths around the house and out buy the mailbox. Oh to live in Michigan in the winter...

Crystal Mountain ski resort is opening this weekend...early.

Here's what happened today. I needed a shower before I called the doctor (in case she said come down now) and when I got out I was so exhausted I went in to the unmade bed (bedding in the wash) and lay down. I was able to lay down without constant coughing and slept for 2 hours. Got up for a bit and ate toast and tea. Went back to bed for 2 more hours. We'll see what tonight/tomorrow brings. I may try to go in tomorrow.
Thank you for all you prayers and suggestions. Wish I could see some of that beautiful snow.

Good Afternoon you all

Got to moving this morning and not hurting as much. Will take some Tylonol or Ibuprofen when it starts hurting again.

A busy morning here for me. I got beans in the crock pot so I can freeze them in 1 cup servings. Got my hamburger cooked and packaged and in the freezer. Made an apple pie with JoAnna's Crumb Topping on it. Made my apple pie spice (needed that for the pie). Also made some air fried onion rings for DH for his lunch.
Have done 3 loads of clothes and one hung up outside. Chickens feed scratch. Whew I am ready to sit down.

Will order my groceries I get from Walmart so we can pick them up tomorrow.

Patty – every time you had so much snow last year and went to town, I would say to myself the same thing. If she did not go she would be inside the house all winter. At least you grew up there and are use to it. We ordered some antibiotics on line from a fish ordering thing. It is the same stuff. We have used it if something like what is happening to Jan and it works. I was afraid at first till I researched it and got on some chats about it and read it. Also the lady at the pet store said she sure sells a lot and smiles when DH bought the first amoxicillin for me. After all these years of mainly the same problems we know what they would prescribe for us and how long. On the $1 broom are you talking about an ordinary broom?

Jan – sounds like you are not getting any better only worse. Sure hope you get to see the doctor or they give you something for it. Tonight I may put that heat rub on my knee and see if that helps. Between me and my husband we should have bought stock in the company that sells it :)

Karen – enjoy looking at the snow. Praying for your relatives and friends that have to go out in it.

Karen, glad you can stay in today. Yes it is worth $1 to pay it online.

Girls, I used comet cleanser and my $1 broom from dollar tree on my tub...awesome. That
$1 broom is amazing to use on the tub...no bending and stretching. I got some water in the tub first to wet it, then sprinkled comet, then broomed it.

hubby took me to get blood drawn, no one told me it was a fasting blood draw. So they couldn't do it today, I have to go back tomorrow morning. bah

We got several inches of snow & more coming. The snow is pretty to look at! It is suppose to reach 24 today. Schools are closed. I worry about those that have to drive on slick roads, especially my granddaughter who took a factory job about 20 miles from town.

I cancelled my massage appointment & am thankful I can pay my utility bill on line. It is worth the dollar fee to not have to go out today.

Jan.... I hope your dr has some answers to help you feel better. I am thinking I read somewhere that a flu bug has started early in some states. When you cannot sleep, it is hard for your body to heal. Praying for you to get feeling better.

Stay warm everyone!

Jan, hope the dr. can help you with this. It seems to be getting worse, right?

Up here they don't give you any meds for sinus or bronchitis. Not unless or until it turns to pneumonia...we just have to suffer through it. horrible thing.

I used the snowblower on both porches. We got soooooo much snow.

Hubby is using the snowblower on the driveway. Maybe too much snow for the plow? Not sure why he is using the blower instead of the plow. He doesn't want me using the other blower on the driveway...I think everyone thinks I can't do much. I can do and handle more than people think I can.

Need to get in the shower and get dressed...yes, I did the porches in my jammies. It sure is cold out.

emoticon I still feel lousy. I'll call my doctor today. When I lay down it's constant coughing so I lay on the sofa a bit and then sat up in my chair most of the night.

Glenna, The snow must be so pretty. I hope you have a good day of getting things done.

Patty, I've heard when you live in snowy places you just have to deal with it. Most of us don't have to plough our driveways! I hope all goes well with the blood draw. Too bad the baby vest is not something you like but you learned what you'd do next.

Nina, I hope you feel better. When Bruce was having that assessment and he mentioned his knee gives him trouble the PT said "Likely you are one of the people over 35 who has arthritis". What do you do for it? I remember my Mom used to fill the bathroom sink with really warm water and soak her hands to help them.

It's mostly cloudy here today with a high of 55. We're having some light rain right now.

Good Morning Everyone

Was up at 4:30. Having sore muscles and joints. That time of year. I noticed last year the colder weather seems to awaken any arthritic symptoms in hands etc. Of course that will mean I will be sleepy tonight by 8:30 :)

Have to cook hamburger I was thawing today. Make my apple pie spice too. I already have pinto beans in the crock pot. Will bag them and freeze them when done.

Need to make a vegetable soup for lunch for me without tomato sauce in it. The chili I made of Jo's with the macaroni in it was really good. I did add one more can tomato paste and 4 cans water to it. Made it go farther and less calories. Also added another Tablespoon chili powder. Just cannot have too much tomato products because of the IC bladder.

Need to check out what I need in groceries for Wednesday. We will go shopping tomorrow or Friday which ever day we choose. One store has Friday specials sometimes.

DH is still having sinus problems because of the smoke or some virus we picked up. I felt the same last week and just thought it was the smoke or undoing from being in the smog in Calif.

Well need to open curtains and let the sun come in. It is almost up. It can warm our house up when I do that.

Have not figured out supper yet. Breakfast will most likely be pancakes with applesauce.

Glenna – good morning. I thought I had saved what your mother drinks before having some foods because of the IC. I used water and ¼ teaspoon baking soda but not sure the amount of baking soda.
Stay warm inside today after chores with the snowy weather.

Patty – that is a lot of snow. If we got that much we would not even think of going to town. You are so use to snow that you are all prepared for it. We get it but it just does not last but about a little over a week here, before it is melted. Stay safe on the way for blood draw.

We got almost a foot of snow overnight...oh my, and it's 17 out. Supposed to get to 23 later. I need to go for a blood draw later today...hubby will have to plow the driveway out first. Winter snow warning until 6 PM

Glenna, glad you weren't dumped on during the night.

WW has 3 plans now. The purple one, they have potatoes, oatmeal, brown rice, whole wheat pasta for 0 points. So lot less figuring out points. Wish they would get steak and pork chops on there too for 0 points...lol

I'm thinking of taking out the first baby vest I made. Not very pretty to me. Should have used a different color than the variegated yarn. Also should have made the increases on the body instead of having it come down straight. It's done, already made, so will probably let it be, but I really don't like it very much.

Have a good day Girls.

Good morning,

I woke up to snow and cold today. Not a lot of snow, but the wind sure is cold. We are supposed to have a high temperature of 32 today. At least it is supposed to be sunny and warmer (40's) by the end of the week.

An indoor day for sure. Maybe I can do some more cleaning today after work.

Jan, Hope you are feeling better today. How is the weather your way?

Nina, Are you crafting or cooking today?

Karen, I am sure you are enjoying winter weather, too. We are under the winter weather advisory until 7 pm today.

Patty, How about you? Is the weather nasty at your house today? I am glad you and dh got to enjoy his birthday yesterday.

New question is up! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
