I'm reading Glenn Beck's, "It IS about Islam," as well as,"Wicked Business" by Janet Evanovich. I need a little humor to go with the terror of what is going on with ISIS invading Europe and the USA. I've printed up a sign that says: "Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10, to help me keep calm.

I enjoy reading mostly cozy mysteries. Presently reading a book called "Staged to Death"
by Karen Rose Smith. Fast and easy read and interesting. I belong to a book club on Goodreads and we share what we like and offer suggestions too. emoticon
My library is trying to get me a book by Karen Kingsbury, called "Room with a clue."
Hoping she can get it for another library if our library does not own it.
I also like to do the daily Crossword Puzzles from our newspaper. M-W are pretty good, then Thurs. and Fri they get a lot harder.
Enjoy the evening everyone.

My goodness ILOVETOCRUISE, how fast do you read? I am so envious of those that can breeze right through a book and retain all that they have read. I have a feeling you're like that. I'm still working on "Daddy's Gone A Hunting" by Mary Higgins Clark". I am enjoying the book though!

If you believe, you can achieve!

Hi there! I too am a fan of James Patterson and so far, I've enjoyed all his books, some better then others. I just finished 'Kiss The Girls" and it was great. How did you like 'Red'? I have it in my bookcase but haven't gotten around to reading it yet. Another book I recenty finished was Ben Carson's 'One Nation' which was excellent. I currently have two books going at once, 'Where Are You Now?' by Mary Higgens Clark and Dinesh D'Sousa's 'America'. It's a bit dry, so it's going slowly, but it is interesting.

I just started a new one for me. C J Box.."Three Weeks To Say Goodbye". I've not read him. A church member lent it to me as I had lent him, Things that Matter by Charles Krauthammer.
I pick that one up and read it sporadically. I highly recommend it.

My review on Montana Bride:

Montana Bride; A Bitter Creek Novel by Joan Johnston

From goodreads.com:

"When Karl Norwood’s mail-order bride meets an untimely demise on the way to the Montana Territory, Hetty Wentworth steps in to take her place. Hetty has no idea how she’s going to pretend to be all the things she isn’t—including the mother of two kids. She only knows her deception is necessary if she’s going to save two orphans from the awful fate she suffered as a child.

Karl smells a rat when a much younger woman than he was expecting arrives with two children who look nothing like her. But his mail-order bride is so beautiful, he doesn’t object—until he realizes that his charming new wife has been lying . . . about everything. Can a woman forced to keep secrets and a man hindered by distrust ever hope to find happily ever after in each other’s arms?"

Leona's Review:
This is the first book I have read by Joan Johnston and the first book of the Bitter Creek Series; the others are Texas Bride and Wyoming bride but this book can be read on it's own.

Hetty takes the place of the mail order bride for Karl Norwood after the death of the one he is supposed to marry. Two orphans, a boy and a girl, were pretending to be the children of the deceased woman so they could find a home. Hetty is encourage to do this by Bao Lin, the Chinese man who was sent by Karl to escort the original mail order bride, Mrs. Templeton.
The readers get history lessons in this book about the area, what like is like in this time era and how hard it is. People begin hard work at an early age at this time (late 1800s) and young girls age quickly. Karl has an interest in plants and flowers and tries to teach the children as they travel to their new home.
There is some sexual themes and moments in this book but not too much as far as I am concerned. Some language but very little and usually the person is corrected in their speech.
I personally did not like the cover of the book. It does not describe the contents at all.
Some characters are:
Henrietta Wentworth- the main woman character who came from a wealthy family. She has sisters she is unable to locate.
Karl Norwood- the main male character who wants to begin a family and accepts the fact there are already children from the woman he plans to marry
Grace and Griffin- the orphans who are the supposed children of Hetty. They are older than originally lead to believe.
Dennis- longtime friend of Karl
Bao Lin- the Chinese man who has many Confucius sayings.
Andy- someone from Texas who falls for Grace
I liked this book. I did not do my review so re-read it and I liked it better the second time. I found it a personal book in the fact so many had low esteem about themselves and were trying to find their way in life. A quick read.
I received a complimentary copy from the author on librarything.com to read and review. I give it a 4 star rating and look forward to reading more of Joan Johnston.
You may find the author at www.joanjohnston.com.

Nina, I so agree with you, I would rather read a good mystery than watch TV. If you like Jack Reacher I just finished one in a similar vein, The Forgotten by David Baldacci. I started reading it when I was with DH waiting for his doctor appointment, they were running way behind but I didn't mind at all sitting in the waiting room for more than two hours. Lots of good reading.

"Queen of the Night" by J.A. Jance. I usually like her books, but not this one. I suppose the main thread of the story was okay, if you could follow it. Every few pages she inserts the date, place, time of day, and temperature, which disrupted the story for me. Then it is presented from several viewpoints, which I don't like. Maybe she was experimenting with a new style.

Anyway, I read a lot, usually mysteries. I like my imagination better than I like TV.

Leona, I just starting to read "May Day" by Jess Lourey. I downloaded it from bookbub. Some of these books are good and some not so good. We will see how this one goes.

I am finishing Moon Cursed (A Nightcreature Novel) by Lori Handeland. This one is on the Loch Ness Monster in Scotland, Nessie. I have been there and a beautiful area. H2 channel happened to have a show on Nessie Saturday.
