I sprinkle tumeric powder on eggs, meat, soups, stews. etc. Just because I like it. No problem with that. Don't know about supplements.

GD continues to absorb the fluid on the brain. Neurosurgeon now consulting with peer in Seattle on the gamma knife treatment. Still looking at April to either make a decision or do something. She has been okayed to return to school part time with conditions. However, school is not to keen to be responsible. Lots of paper gathering and meetings. She is finally feeling like getting out of bed and out of the house more.

Taking prednisone and it is making me feel wonky. I had a few good hours though over the last few days. It has been helping the back pain.

I started the 10 day cleanse yesterday and I ate so many different vegetables that I think I might explode! Actually, I have had little gas and there were times my gas issues were out of control so that is already a good outcome.I made a vegetable chili that had two eggplants in it so that was the main substance. It was pretty good and I can use that for a few different meals. I find that I need something quick for lunch since I run home to let the puppy out and don't want to spend too much time cooking.

50) I am thankful that a variety of vegetables are readily available all through the year.

I have tried the Turmeric supplements two separate occasions and ended up with severe diarrhea so have had to stop. I would suggest googling anti-inflammatory foods and it comes up with charts - in the book he uses oregano oil and cayenne oil which he supplies recipes for. basically it is grape seed oil mixed with the spice (oregano or cayenne). I will probably just add them separately. Coconut oil and coconut full fat milk are also used in a lot of the recipes. Avocados and berries are highly rated along with some leafy greens like kale, swiss chard and spinach. You can find some great recipes on Pinterest and you can also preface the search with anti-inflammatory.

Cathy - I can understand - my Joshua had to go through brain surgery 4 times and it was extremely stressful. I will keep her and your family in my prayers.

49) I am thankful for technology that allows us to find information very easily - although we should always be careful that it is a trusted source.

Above is a link to a good short video on how to use the inhaler.

Rinse your mouth with water after as the medicine is hard on teeth.. Hope you feel better soon and avoid the pneumonia.

Val
Thanks for the book It looks pretty good. Not sure I am going to buy it, but some of those recipes look yummy and it looks pretty much like the foods I am suppose to be eating.

Had food poisoning or something Sunday night. Missed work, book club and TOPS yesterday. Feel fine today and the sun is shining. GD had followup with MRI and CT scan and Neurosurgeon. He is still giving me whiplash with how frequently he is changing his mind. Now talking surgery again instead of gamma knife.

I use an inhaler and my instructions are to shake it well for about 30 seconds, place the mouthpiece between my lips, squeeze it twice to get the medicine in my mouth and down my throat. inhale as you do it, and hold my breath for a s long as I can hold it in. After using mine, I am supposed to rinse my mouth out with water.

I have used other inhalers that don't require rinsing after use. Some have a spacer that keeps the inhaler several inches outside your mouth because it allows the medicine to cover more area.

I hope I helped some. Read the directions that come with YOUR inhaler as there are so many different types out there.

Saw my PA for the followup, and I still have some wheezing, and a cough, have another script. for another 10 days, and I'm to go back to see her in 2 weeks, she also wants me to use, an inhaler 4 times a day, so a script. for that, I've never used one b4, nor have I ever had to, so, I don't know how, has any of you ever had to use one,? My PA explained to me how, but, I don't remember everything on how to do that, like she explained.

I work hard at reducing inflammation. Turmeric, ginger, garlic, oregano and CBC oils are supplements that help with inflammation and so do some of the foods I eat as well. The level of pain is significantly reduced since I started using them. After my second knee replacement in April I hope to be nearly pain-free.

Well that is good that you are getting prepared for the inevitable. I sometimes think I'm going to end up with a scooter for everything if I don't get these knees in order. I am really hoping that focusing on more anti-inflammatory foods will help. The book arrived yesterday and I read his introduction. He had positive results in just a few days to I'm really going to put forth the effort to do the 10 day cleanse and see if I too feel that much better. There are a lot of recipes I like for that cleanse and then there are a lot that look good when I add meat back to y diet. I think my husband will also enjoy some of those recipes so we can at least eat the same meals at night.

I am going to lose my drivers license one day and I alternate between disrepair and joy. My children have bought me a mobility scooter and I use it sometimes just for practice. I have something to do every day (groups) but don't go everyday. The bus stop is close. I am going to the pool today by car a bit far for the scooter.

Val, yup, I agree, with that, and, sometimes, I do that, now tomorrow, I have an appointment with my PA for a followup on this/Beginning of the start of pneumonia, but, it's at 1:00 p.m. so, I'll make sure I'm ready and leave early enough, even though it's only a few blocks away from my house.I ate a bowl of oatmeal, and had a half glass/cup of OJ, and came back here to sit down and get back on computer, and all of a sudden I felt a surge of energy. :) emoticon But, today's going to be a sort of lazy day for a while. I need to lose a few pounds, but, not sure how I should do, or, try??

Rosie I find if I make myself get out there and do things I'm better off for it. I do love being home with my fur babies, and my newest addition at least makes me get outside with her and walk her around. I think she has helped push me this winter so I'm not as much as a homebody.

The book is - Fix It with Food: More Than 125 Recipes to Address Autoimmune Issues and Inflammation: A Cookbook

I was with a friend yesterday that was telling me about an anti-inflammatory cookbook she has been making meals from and how much better her joints feel. I decided today to purchase the cookbook and try to change over my diet to some degree to more anti-inflammatory foods. I believe the book has a 10 day cleanse which I'm sure would be a good way to start off. With the way my joints have been feeling I think it is well worth a try.

46) I am thankful for friends and having reconnected with some I had lost touch with.

Thank you all for the support.

Tax office told me not to come in for a couple days. I think it was because my brain wasn't functioning well. Hopefully they will let me come back in Monday. I need to get some hours to replensish the down payment on the van.

Put together the cot for the van. It was exactly everything I wanted, except the dimensions weren't as advertised. However it is sturdy. Sending pics to the company
