Sharon - I have to say our governor is being very understanding, saying that he realizes that there are some areas that we can handle very sensibly. The only things that is totally closed are hair salons, gyms, tattoo places and places that have close contact. Dining places are closed to sit in meals. Those that can accommodate drive thru or curb side delivery are still operating. I'm not sure about home delivery. I do know I saw an ad in the paper for one of the restaurants that is offering delivery of easter dinners so they must be able to do that. We've been able to access our Menards but they have put restrictions of having to be a certain age. Most of our stores are putting up plexi glass barriers and are wearing masks and gloves.I haven't been to any other stores so I don't know about them.

Well I better go figure out something for lunch. It is harder to have to thing about meals everyday.

Morning!

I am still up in our rooms enjoying my alone time. Nala not so much! So would rather be downstairs with all the commotion. Their two dogs are so huge and rambunctious compared to Nala but Nala handles herself well. She only puts up with just so much and then she turns on them and they give her respect and back off.

Eileen - the people in MI are very upset with our Governor Whitmer! She has added so many new restrictions. Most of the virus outbreak is over on the east side of the state so it seems unfair to the West side of the state. The east and west are becoming so divided. So many Muslims over on the East side and they are running the state. The West side would love to see the state divided like Virginia did. It will never happen but it doesn't keep the residents from wishing to be separated from the east side.

TC - I hope you are doing OK with these workshifts. A 12 hr shift so soon after your surgery sounds hard on you. I hope you get breaks where you can get off your feet for awhile!

Arlene - I agree this Shelter in Place is harder on our men! Darrell is keeping busy with his cabinet. One of the newest restrictions is MI that Governor Whitmer set in MI is no lawncare workers and she has closed all the non essential depts in our Big Box Stores. All the garden, flooring, plumbing and home dept are now closed as she said we should not be using this time for remodeling projects and putting the workers in danger. The men are really upset as their projects are keeping them sane and now they can't get supplies.

Marianne - I am glad your community is checking up on the people living alone. Keep communicating with the older gentleman. It is important he knows he is not alone.

News rules again. Our park keeps everything open but the county set our rules as well. as of today, we now must remain in Hildago Cty. If we leave and come back to our home, we are to self quarantine i our house for 14 days. Guess we won't be leaving the Cty. or mom will not be eating well for 2 weeks. Still taking dinner over to her house. We see a rare person out except early morning when a few go for walks. I don't get moving until later in the AM and it's getting a little warm for me by then. Today was humid and 95.

Decided to close up the slideout on the camper as if we have hail, we would prefer to not have damage to them. (Walked in and the thermostat said it was 105 in the camper). Just have to worry about the skylights which we can't do anything about. That's what we lost in one hail storm with our other camper as well as the awning with was rolled up. Beat the attached area so bad, it just pealed away from the camper.

Just checked out radar and had a big red cell heading directly to us. It go to the Mission area and began breaking up. passed over with nothing for us. The usual but still have hopes for the middle of the night.

PJ, glad fishing has picked up for Frank. With our new rules here, we don't know if we can make it up home without being quarantined along the road. Hope you don't have problems when you choose to leave.

Brenda, that had to be quite a storm going through. Last night we did hear of a tornado in AR. somewhere. I do have a WII here but never could figure out how to attach it to the TV. Strange you should mention that. Just looked up and an ad was on for a med. She was using the WII. Have seen it on TV for eons.

Carol, we do hear that the states around us haven't closed up so our Gov'n has apparently ordered a little more than usual for safety sake. We fear that's a lot of what we may run into if we started up from the Valley.

WG, glad you were able to get out and get groceries. Yep, that's the highlight of our days right now. Only Roger has been going out for milk and bananas plus others fruits if needed. We can only get 1 item each trip so it means going out a little more often.

Tammy, it's good to hear from you. Glad mom is improving. Roger's mom did the same thing on hospice and they took her out of it due to great improvements. And I understand the accusations that get tossed out. Hang tough. Good you can get outdoors and work to relax too. We have 5 feet around this house so Roger gets things done in 5 mins. Have some pretty little pink flowers that come up on the north side of the house so he hasn't mowed there yet. Our neighbors love to look at them. Hope and pray your DD is clear of the virus.

Sharon, glad there wasn't damage there. Lovely place and love the pictures. We have more cases here in Hildago cty. It's up to 146 cases with Camaron just passing us in numbers. So it is growing rapidly here. Our "big rain storm" fizzled yet again. No a drop. The front is still moving down but doesn't look promising. Just hot and humid!!

Marianne, I would love to start a garden here but the jackrabbits and cottontails are here in huge numbers. They show up when the people leave!! They would eat the plants right away. Something did eat one of my fancy begonias I got from home last spring. The email idea is a good one. Mom has been in the house so long, she would probably go stark raving mad if we didn't share a daily meal with her. She hasn't complained at all but I can tell it's tough on her.
Love the picture of Pete and the dogs!! He looks so much younger. (sorry, Pete)

Arlene, it has been a rollercoaster up there. MN. got snow a couple days ago after temps in the 60's. It was 39 there this AM. Kind of glad to not be there BUT it's hot here!! This is a good time to do all the reorganizing and throwing. I am sure it's the same there but we can't donate anything until after the virus has cleared the area totally. So the clothes will stay in the closet this year.

TC, the heat makes the neuropathy much worse. That's why the sandals only. Shoes makes the toes swell terribly and are quite painful. Glad it stays in the toes and not up into the foot.

Having a hard time typing. Nails are too long and hard to file down. The barin doesn't want to work well either. So off I go!

Eileen

Marianne - I'm not sure who's the cutest, Pete or the puppies! I must admit Pete looks so different that I barely recognized him!

Supper was good and I ate well. Today was my best day of eating since arrival!

As Carol has said it's not too nice in ND again. Temps are cold and the wind is blowing. As I've said before my body doesn't like it.

We keep busy. Darrell is busy working on my craft cabinet. Like I was afraid of it is hard on him at times. He tends to push too hard at times. He really would like to have the garage doors open and of course he can't. The unit is going to look really nice when he gets done.
I'm still "removing" a lot of stuff from the craft/computer room that I haven't used in way too long and realistically know I won't use again so it's going in containers to be put on a rummage sale when it's gets possible. I have so many knit and crochet patterns and stuff that I can't use any more because I just can't do it anymore. I did hang on to a few patterns for doilies that I like to do and I'm thinking I may try them.

This being kept home is harder on Darrell than me. The dismal weather is what gets to me. We had one day when we were able to get out and walk in the neighborhood and that was nice. Hopefully things will change so we can do more of it.

Sharon - you sons house looks really nice but I understand it's just not home.

Brenda - keep enjoying those nice flowers and the birds that have come back. Our new birds right now are the Juncos that have stopped by on their way north. It's the longest they've stayed so they must know something. The robins and house finches are coming back too.

I did a quick glance at the posts but right now I don't remember too much.

Tammy - I hope your daughter gets a good report from her test. You have enough stress going on right now.

I will try to get some more of the posts read. I've found I have to do it during the daylight, the evening lights tire my eyes out.

Sharon, I can understand wanting to go home but what a gorgeous place to hunker down. I miss our seven country acres and our family home, plenty of space to walk and browse in nature. Loved Downton Abbey, glad youíre enjoying it. Weíve been watching a Canadian series, Murdoch Mysteries, and the long running British Midsommer Murders.

Tammy, thinking of your DD and hoping sheís ok. Your poor motherís memory issues (dementia?) arenít helping in all this stress. My mother was sure my niece was stealing from her and complained constantly to me ó hurtful for my niece and absolutely not true, sigh. Glad you got out to do yard work; Iím waiting for more warmth in a few days.

WG, yep, sad when the grocery run is the dayís highlight. emoticon

Carol, not being able to get to the nursery for flowers for my patio containers is annoying, I wish Iíd started some from seed earlier. In our old home we had raised beds with wire on the bottom to discourage gophers, and a fenced garden area to protect against the deer and rabbits, to some extent. Pete built the raised beds and I did everything else. emoticon

Brenda, walking is good therapy, especially if I can avoid people. emoticon

PJ, itíll be interesting to see what your travel is like when you do leave for home. Glad the fishing is good.

Eileen, wouldnít you think social distancing with golf carts is acceptable? Iím worried about the mental/emotional toll this virus is having on the many people who live alone in our community, especially the ones who donít have family. There are a small group of volunteers who banded together to organize phone check-ins. One older gentleman Iíve checked on is now sending me daily emails that donít often make sense, but I respond to let him know someone is listening. Our county is on its 5th week of stay at home. emoticon

We had storms move through this morning that woke us all up. Other than a few tree limbs down, they was no damage here. One of our RV friends are on their way home to MN and they had a bad hail storm yesterday! Their beautiful MH seems undamaged, however, their brand new Equinox really got dinged up bad. They said they have insurance so I hope it all works out for them.

I took a nice walk thru the foot paths this morning. As dense as the woods are, there doesn't seem to be many bugs or mosquitoes so it is enjoyable. I took my phone and snapped a couple of the things I ran into today.

I found my way out of the woods. That is Norm in the picture. He just finished skimming the pool.

One of the projects Casey and Norm plan to do is to relevel this cazebo. It off to the side of the pool area. Looks fine to me but Casey is not happy with it as is. Norm agrees so it will be a nice project for the two of them.

Tammy - praying for your DD. Perhaps her tests will be negative, if not, praying she recovers completely. C & Z introduced me to Downton Abbey. We have been watching a couple episodes each evening and I am loving it. I understand you watched it and enjoyed it. We are late to the party as the series started in 2010!

WG - a grocery trip actually sounds fun! When we came in we passed a huge Dollar General just about a mile down the road. I would love to browse the store, perhaps before we leave.

Carol - this suite is very nice but it wouldn't be good as a MIL suite as there is a lot of steps to go up and down. Norm and I are handling it just fine now but I can't see it working out if either of us was struggling with our hip bursitis right now. I pray we don't have any issues before we leave!

Brenda - sorry you had such a down time. Mike was good to help get your through the difficult time. I don't mean to sound ungrateful as I truly appreciate being here, but I really would just like to go home. This too shall pass.

PJ - I don't know how they can control people going from state to state. We saw a lot of traffic. I can't say too much as we traveled here but I do believe there are ways of doing it responsibly. I did see where the county we were in in Rockport now has two cases so it is spreading.

Eileen - sorry about no rain! It just never seems to rain a lot in the RGV except for the first winter we stayed in Mission!

Hi, friends...

Yesterday was a lawn work day - Tammy weedeated, Joe mowed and it does look nice. Monday and Tuesday were Mom Errand days, being as careful as I possibly could in my mask from the Surgeon General's video - and lots of hand washing and not touching my face. Today is a kinda lazy day.

My mom is doing better than she was three weeks ago when hospice care began. She's still on oxygen 24/7, but that started when home health started prior to hospice. The swelling that was in her legs is much better and there is a hope that today her wrappings can be a thing of the past at least for the time being. I actually think in many ways she is better than she has been for months. She has been exhibiting her lifelong paranoid tendencies - I was helping to get things "in order" as she has been concerned about for years and have now been accused of trying to get her stuff. I've been calling her daily to remind her to take a second water pill so that she isn't up to the commode all night long and today it was "is that the only reason you call me?" She's told my niece that we are all waiting for her to die. Sheesh...so much for worrying during a pandemic...

In the midst of this going on, my DD was sent home yesterday - fever - and then had a Covid-19 test yesterday afternoon. I guess the guidelines are less stringent for health care workers. She had her test around midafternoon, so if it is indeed 24 hours, we should know in a few hours. There were different time frames given as she was at different places in the process...our particular county's numbers have stayed the same since the weekend, which I am cautiously optimistic about.

I so enjoy coming here and reading...have a good day.

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

Hi everyone. Beautiful day. Clear blue skies, no pollution (thanks to sheltering) and quiet. I got my groceries today. Since we are supposed to stay home and not even go to the store, it was an iffy thing, but I needed some fresh food and social distancing is working. The number of new cases here has dropped and it is good news.

It is a sad thing, though, when the grocery trip is the highlight of the day.

Brenda, this whole thing is very disrupting to our peace. I'm glad you can get out and do some things. it is quite a change for all of us, but especially for those of you who are actually on the road a good part of the year. I'm glad you could vent. I miss my WII. When I remodeled, my DS took it home and his kids play it every day, so I'm fine with them keeping it.

PJ, if things are pretty settled at home, going home should be safe. It is interesting how much we will all enjoy the things we have done and the services we are used to. I'm looking forward to a return to a life we are used to at least on some levels.

Good luck with your grocery run. It is frustrating to not be able to get everything you enjoy or need.

Eileen, I'm glad that the area is clamping down on activity. While it is hard, a couple of weeks without much activity will be helpful to reduce the spread. With the beaches nearby, your area may need to be stringent for a longer period of time. The nice thing about the golf cart parade is that people stay at least 6 feet apart, but I can see being more cautious.

I'm going to try to sew some more today. I like to take these chunks of grandchildless time to do some sewing as I can leave stuff out without having a problem. Then I'm going to enjoy some berries and fresh food. I do love some fresh stuff.

Have a great day.

Brenda, I loved the flower pix, but kinda made me sad as I don't know when I'll be able to go to the nursery. Up here, of course we don't yet have flowers popping up. It's cloudy, the wind is blowing 30-40 mph, and it snowed a bit.

Sharon, your son's place looks marvelous. Did they build that way with you and Norm in mind?
Glad the guys can "play" together. Tell Zona that my DH likes every one of her recipes I've made.

Marianne, we've had a couple of garden businesses start up; you buy "shares" and they let you know when produce is ready to pick up. We haven't done that yet, Bob likes to do his garden. I hope he relents and buys some black dirt to put in. We live on basically the side of a bluff leading to the Missouri River. We're like on the second tier of 4 and our soil is primarily blown in dust from the hard pan in the area. If you pick up a handful of dirt, it looks mostly like sand, not the black loamy stuff that's the best. We'll see. We compost, but with only 3 months of the year warm enough for the veggie scraps to break down, it doesn't decompose fully.

No border patrols yet for our neighboring states of MT, SD, and MN. There are several towns that have twins across the border where somebody works in one town and lives in the opposite state. We're still doing pretty good up here.

I wish everyone well,

emoticon

They have started screening people coming to Texas from Louisiana and some roads are closed.

Eileen I seen the rain report on our news this morning. I believe we are in the path of that rain also but we have had some rain here off and on. Your mom is lucky just getting the perm. We all (me included) will be ready for haircuts etc.

Marianne those fresh fruits and veggies sound really delicious. I make a menu using whatever I can find at the store.

Brenda love the colorful pics. Looks like spring. I finally saw 2 deer walking yesterday. And a first for me a beautiful orangey colored snail crossing the road the shell was the size of a quarter. I just wish I had taken a pic with my phone. I wasn't sure if it was you or Mike that liked to be on the go the most. I know you take a lot of drives and take pics of you excursions which I love

TC take care sure have been thinking about you this week now that you are back to work

Sharon you may never want to leave. That is a 5 star room for sure. Enjoy all the family time you can get. Sorry to hear Casey is laid off but great timing with Norm there. Those 2 can get a lot done.

WG sounds like you are staying busy with reading making masks etc.

Heather Hi to you and Alex.

Praying for everyone's safety especially those that have been exposed.

We are making another grocery run today. I did manage to come up with a face mask sort of. I cut off extra length of some pillow cases and we will tie that around our face. It should be better than nothing. We are thinking about heading home before the end of April just taking it a day at a time. The fishing is getting a bit better so Frank is enjoying himself more.

Take care everyone.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Well, again we are "threatened" with rain. I will believe it when I see it or hear it :-)
Too many times have we heard this and nothing. So maybe we can enjoy rain on Thurs. night through Sat. AM.

We have had more stringent rules placed which begin tonight. No individual 17 or under is allowed out of the house unless accompanied by a parent. I am guessing the beach and parks are too much of a draw but that's tough going. Also all the state parks are now closed for even walking. We gained another 50 active cases here in our county today. They have really clamped down on the shopping too. One person from a car can go in, certain # of people in the store pending they Sq' footage. No more than 2 people in a car. Getting a little difficult for us to get groceries. But the rules should be helping not spread the COVID-19.

There is a rumor going around that we won't be able to have our fun golf cart parade any longer. Drats! Took dinner over to mom's tonight and didn't see one person on our entire route. Coming home was the same as well.

That wraps up the news from the RGV. Nothing is going on anywhere in the park. Will have to find something to report for tomorrow night. until then..................

Hi everyone. It is nice and warm here. The dogs played outside for a while and DGS who really wants a dog came and walked him so he got some good exercise.

Spent the afternoon sewing masks. I had sewn some but didn't love them. They weren't comfortable. I found another I like and is easier to sew. Made about 20 today so I'm done for a while. I think we will be wearing masks a lot longer than we think as there is a possibility that the virus will flare in the fall when the weather turns cool. Probably not the same as now but it will be there. Now I understand why the Chinese and Japanese are wearing masks all the time. They just don't want to get sick.

The Dinosaur's teacher dropped by a treat. Since he lives in another school district, he officially lives here, especially since he started the school year here.

My state borders have "closed" and everyone entering the state are being screened. That really isn't happening since there are so many back roads, but it is a good idea.

Marianne, love the freggies. I'm sure you will enjoy them a lot. It is great that you have the opportunity to get fresh produce. I miss that since I moved away from California. Enjoy your meals.

Eileen, take a break and get your water in. I'm sorry you are hurting. I'm not a lover of heat either. Hang tough. I'm glad you are going to get your mom outside.

Heather, I think it is great to have a little competition but if it is too much, it is too much. Good for Alex to drop back and go at his own pace. There are plenty of rewards with the device anyway.

Brenda, love the flowers. I'm glad you got a bit of spring in your day.

TC, I hate reusing masks. It is terrible and not safe at all. Still, it is another time and we do what we must. I'm sorry that PT hurt but I'm glad you are able to do lungers. Hope the knee behaves on Thursday.

Sharon, love the MIL suite. I'm sure you can enjoy it for as long as you need to. Keep watching the numbers. You may have a hard time getting there for a while. Take some walks and read some books and enjoy your meals. I'm sure they aren't in your plan but you can do this.

It was such a beautiful day, and so quiet. Lovely time to be outside. Even better, the neighbors who live behind me played tennis last night. The dog has some new balls.

Have a great day. I'm off to clean up a bit and have some dinner.

Brenda, nice to see some spring flowers. emoticon My 13 year old grandson has grown 1/2 inch since we saw him last ó heís now 6ft 2 in. tall! We see pictures but I agree, itís not the same as hugging your family.

TC, hope you have been eased into the physical labor of your job ó yikes on the mask situation!

Sharon, even a coffee maker! emoticon Beautiful living quarters, and I really envy your outdoor walking paths. They sure live in a lovely area.

Received a big box of farm to home veggies yesterday and a grocery order, so Iím cooking up a storm. So far broccoli/apple salad, roasted Brussel sprouts, and a fresh asparagus and pea risotto. Yesterday we had a spinach and onion quicheótomorrow stuffed peppers on the menu. I also have 2 lbs of strawberries and a few kiwis so a fruit salad is also in the plan. Wish everything hadnít arrived at once but not much control.

LOVE all the pictures! Sharon, you aren't going to want to leave emoticon

Roger went to the grocery store this AM. I chose to stay home as restrictions are getting tighter. We do have over 100 cases in our county here now. I the park we are to wear masks, cloth are fine. Any youth 17 yrs. or younger can not be out of their home unless accompanied by a parent. Only one person (family member) in a store at one time. Roger and I could go if we have mom's order too. Just trying to keep everyone safe here. So far TX. has been doing fairly well. The RGV is doing well.

Seems I am getting lazier and lazier through this. I could complain but don't need to. What would be nice is my usual massage, getting my nails shortened and hair cut! All in due time. I need to work on motivation! Guess I should say my feet are hurting a lot more in this heat and it's harder to get around. I try not to take a 2nd pain pill but today wasn't one of those days.

Mom is the lucky one by getting a perm the week before this all happened. She has washed her hair for the first time in yrs. but the perm is good and her hair looks lovely. Took a couple of our patio chairs over to her place to get her out the door for a little while when she gets a mask.

Read the posts and glad everyone is doing well.

Heather, good to see your plants thriving. How is Alex ? He deleted his fitbit profile. Does that mean he has given up fitness ? I agree the over 65 should stay home. From what i understood, the retirees would care for the non covid patients to free more current nurses up to help the rest getting burned out.

WG, WTG enjoying the small positives each day. I do love that about you. Poor pup is bored. Too much energy. Good thing he will eventually grow out of that. Kind of cool you see the grands and enjoy videos from them.

Eileen, i hope you get a bit more rain. Neat that you have virtual church. The golf cart parade sounds fun for sure.

Ruthann, glad you made it home. So, is dear son living in your yuma place for now ?

Sharon, i am glad your travels were safe. Wow, that house looks amazing !!

Carol, i bet they would take a psych nurse. They are desperate from what i see but i would not if retired. It takes too many years to get to retire. Stay home and stay safe.

Marianne, so sad to hear of your neighbors son passing. Prayers for comfort in their sad times. It is good you can stay busy and are crafty enough to sew the masks. We are not allowed to use the cloth masks yet but they are making us reuse the paper ones until they are visibly soiled. Yuck ! We have to put them in a paper bag in the hall until next days use. I have mine in a plastic bag and in my locker and will probably soil mine on purpose if taking care of a covid pt. I am not willing to reuse it. The hospital also said no more foid donations to staff because of potential exposure. I do not care for me since i only eat my food any way but there are many who do not cook.

Brenda, sounds exciting having new neighbors but i hope they will be curteous. I am enjoying the sunshine today and took squeek for a walk.

With the stress of being back at work and not knowing any of the new regulations, i find i want to eat sweets. I do not need it. I sure crave it though. Therapy was rough today. My inner knee is buckling and throbbing after doing lunges there. Later friends !

Several of you are curious about our home away from home so I took pictures first thing this morning. We are on the second level (lots of stair climbing in my future!) There are two other bedrooms and a common bathroom along with our suite.

You walk in to a rather large sitting room

We have a nice TV to enjoy! Across from the reclining couch!

The other end of the sitting room. Notice the fresh flowers Zona picked from her bushes outside.

The bathroom is off the living area and is huge so I took several pictures.

And then we have our bedroom. Bed at one end and desk at the other. The window overlooks their swimming pool.

As you can see, we have very comfortable surroundings and will be comfortable here as long as necessary. Got to go have a sandwich with the others for lunch!

Hi everyone. Binge watching movies and making more masks. I need to get them out and have been a slug for the past couple of weeks. i knew it would be needed.

Read some interesting stuff (for the nurses) about possible reasons COVID is so bad for people. According to this study, it replaces the heme molecule in the blood so it cannot carry oxygen. All the blowing in the world won't help. Also why the meds work as they are for blood disorders. The article recommends giving the meds earlier in the illness to keep the blood intact. They suggested transfusions may also help as it would give the body some fresh cells to use.

Eileen, your parade sounds great fun. I'm glad you have fun things still going on.

Brenda, it's so hard not seeing the kids and spending time with them. And all my kids live within 15 minutes of my house! Still, they need to stay safe and they are staying away so I will be safe as well.

Sharon, I've got a few pretty good books lately. Can't remember which site but they were all free. I do enjoy a good read.

Have a great day. My machine is calling me.

Good morning , Sharon glad you made it safe to your destination , TC glad your day wasn't be bad .

Jenny is still working I am glad she is back in the store by themselves (bakery) sort of blocked off of everyone else , Brandon her boyfriend just got fur lowed., Andy is also still working and Sarah is off and staying home with LiIlya It has been since Feb 28 since we have see Lilya and its getting to me and not seeing the kids yes Andy facebook chat a couple time which we love . But boy it is so hard not seeing the kids and sis or brother not calling that's the normal for them but it is harder during this time Just a quick hello would be better than nothing . I at times want to cry but trying to stay strong you all know how I love to be on the go . Mike is handling it better than me watching all those men shows but staying up till way late and then sleeping in I can't get on my normal schedule & worrying doesn't help the mind either OK enough of that garbage. I will be ok .

Today is going to be a sunny 70's day beautiful out , we did get new neighbors haven't seen them yet but did hear & see a dog such a small house for a big dog . will hopefully we won't we hearing the loud music in the early morning when they get home like the last renters .

Thanks for letting me vent talk later have a great day .

Morning!

We got a good nights sleep and are ready to face our day. We have our own suite upstairs, with a huge bedroom, large sitting room and a luxury bath. Norm and Nala have left our suite but Zona works in the morning so I am no hurry to leave.

Casey did get bad news yesterday. As of Wednesday, he is laid off. He accepts it as most of the nation is laid off! He said a stay at home vacation isn't all bad as now him and Norm can work on a few projects he needs help with. Zona is happy that Norm is here or Casey would go crazy as the two of them are a lot alike and need to stay busy.

I will have to post pictures later so you can see our home away from home. I would like to go home but they are talking us staying weeks!!! We will see..........

Eileen - the parade sounds fun! It sounds like you have several people still in your park. It is very large and I'm sure you have full time residents. I sure worry about your mom so I pray she is being extra careful. Every day we are hearing more people getting the virus and more deaths. I know you are taking extra precautions with her.

WG - if we have to be sheltered down in our own homes, there are so many other ways to connect through all our tech devices. I am glad your family is reaching out to each other. We will make it through this together!

Marianne - I am so sorry to hear that your neighbor and friend lost their son to this virus. So many are dying alone as they can't even have visitors. Then no funerals during our this Pendemic. It is so sad.

I agree with Heather about calling retired nurses and doctors back. On one hand the elderly are supposed to take extra precautions due to our age and yet they want the very same to go out to the front lines, so to speak. Of our retired nurses here (Carol, WG, Heather, Eileen) I wouldn't expect you to go back.

Have a great day and stay safe!

Good morning !

Busy chore day ahead. Will try to read posts later. sun is shining which makes me happy. Rain supposedly later.

First day at work yesterday was a bust or not ? They are trying to keep everyone working so they have a resource pool where we man doors, bar potential covid passers on, and clean. I sat all day at the front door and doing net learning so no idea what the walking at work will feel like yet. With all the noise and chaos going on, i was never so happy to leave early. Came home and walked my dog so had 6k in steps by end of day. Going to therapy today. Therapist talked his boss into being open couple hours those days for some of us not able to do mon, wed, fri.

Supposed to be 75 degrees today so sitting in shorts / capri's. Sat around fire pit last night. I am sleeping poorly. Awake every night around 1 am. Wondering if kid is waking me since she stays up really late. That has happened before so not sure. Good news is i will have my house to myself friday, sat, sun. I am excited for that.

Our street was damp this AM and then the humidity rolled in. Will have fog tonight. Would love to have a nice old garden variety rain!! And again for us, it was the same ole same ole.

We went to the parking lot for the golf cart parade and didn't see any one there but did see carts roaming around so just sat for a minute and they began to pull in behind us. Didn't want the lead but several ladies have electric scooters and they were the ones that began this so they and a few bikes lead us. We picked up many more as we rode around and never did see the end of the line!! The gals just kept going around and carts started to peel away from the pack. Don't know the number but hope to by tomorrow. I can say there were more than 65! Had people sitting out on their patios waving us on. Fun half hour.

WG, it sure is relaxing to not hear much traffic on the interstate. We are a block away and during the night, all night, there is racing going on and motorcycles reving their engines. Don't miss it at all.

Sharon, glad all has gone well with your trip. Sit back and relax for the next few weeks and enjoy your family.

Marianne, we are again hearing that there is rain coming. I will believe it when we see it. Last week we had a level 2 risk for bad weather and got the street wet as this AM. Now the humidity is high as is the temp is getting into the 90's.
Hope you don't float away!

Carol, it's good to hear from you. I am with you on the retiring the license and not let others encourage me to work again.Had my fill of hazardous work!

Hi everyone. It's been three weeks since my kids and I got together. it has been three weeks since I have been out in a store. It has been three weeks since I have done much but stay home. On the other side, I've quilted a quilt, made a lot of masks, done some knitting, and some reading. I even did laundry which is pretty desperate for me.

I did get some masks sewn for my kids. I worry more about the adults. They are going out and shopping and working. The kids are truly home all the time.

Ruthann, so glad you are settled in. Don't you need to stay there for two weeks to make sure you aren't carrying the bug into another place? Although you spent several days traveling, you may have been exposed along the way even though you are careful. I expect you will have a better idea in a few days, but it may be safer to hold off.

It is hard for the neighbors to not be worried. The whole "unclean" and leper thing really does exist. Not everyone exposed to the illness gets sick. It reminds me a lot of the H1N1 flu a few years ago. It was pretty bad but it was something we could control.

Carol, I'm with you there. I didn't renew my license and have no intention of going back. Many of the jobs are non patient care but I'm doing my bit by not being a patient. Stay safe and enjoy your quiet time of social distancing.

Eileen, online church is a good thing. I'm glad you were able to do all the things you wanted/needed to do at church. It isn't ideal but we can do this. I'm glad you like puzzles. They interviewed a guy who draws the pictures for the puzzles in his company. He does some super detailed but informative pictures that are fun to put together. He can't travel but has a large stockpile and is sending out more puzzles than he does at Christmas. Wonder if you can have a puzzle exchange by putting them in a place/box and taking them after 4-5 days and doing that one? It is an idea and it's going to be a few months.

Marianne, I'm sorry your friend lost her son. I think there will be events that touch us all on some level. I hope that you and your family stay safe.. I'm glad you are wearing your mask. It helps a ton to have something between you and the world even though the experts act like it makes no difference at all to those receiving, just giving. Since it has to be effective both ways, they are just playing a numbers game. Regular surgical masks are about 44% effective. The N95 ones are closer to 90% Anything between you and the world will help you stay safer.

Sharon, I am glad you got to Casey's safely. I'm sure you will enjoy your time with them even though you want to go to your home. Stay safe and wait until things settle down in the next few weeks. The virus is going West and not so much East so keep an ear to the ground.

I love that the earth is quieter now. I love that the world is quiet and I can be outside and not hear traffic from the highway a few blocks away. I love that I have some time to reflect and to figure out what is important going forward.

I'm having a great time video chatting with the kids and sending messages. I love that the family has a chat text and is keeping it busy. I love that my DD is sending me videos of her walks and her kids. I'm also glad that the other grands are sending messages to each other and staying in touch.

I've been enjoying the good news and the wonderful supportive things I'm seeing online and from others.

Life is good and it is important to think about the bright things in this time when the news wants us to see the negative things that are happening and the very sad things that are happening. It can be overwhelming and I'm all for finding fun and happiness so I stay well mentally as well as physically.

Have a great day.

Sharon, good to hear your trip is going well and you and Norm will arrive at Caseyís today. Stay safe. emoticon

Eileen, tons of rain here for a few days. I know we need it but going outside for a walk is my mental health activity. emoticon Seems odd to be unable to go to church for Easter services. emoticon

Ruthann, sure hope youíre staying out of that pool and Yuma may be a safer place to stay than southern CA right now. So glad you and your son arrived, that was quite a drive.

Iíve made a few masks for us and a couple of friends who donít sew. Everyone is wearing masks outside here now, even to walk the dog. Both the number of cases and deaths have continued to go up in our area. Sadly, my friend and neighbor lost her son to the virus last week. He lived in Michigan and after he got sick, both she and his wife could only talk to him on the phone. An only child, he had diabetes which it doesnít sound like he managed too well, but my friend is naturally devastated.

I haven't been on this thread for a while. Hmmm.

Heather, loved the sprouts pix. Lucky you! I usually order some seeds to try from an online store, and because the company is protecting its workers, they're only taking farmers' orders till April 15. That's okay; we can't plant anything out till the weekend before Memorial Day down here. Also, I'm with you on the calling old nurses back into service. I'm 68, and didn't renew my license after I retired. I don't think they're looking for old psych nurses anyway emoticon

Stay well, all.

Morning! All is still going well with our travels so we are thankful for God sheltering us!

There is a lot more traffic today. We are just changing from I-10 to I-65 to head north.

Eileen - I wonder how many will participate in your golf cart parade. Isn't that later today? No rain for us. It is sunny and upper 70's.

We had our video church this AM. Short sermon. Also had a virtual communion. We supplied the bread and juice and pastor did the ritual. Haven' done that before. Mom didn't look at her email so didn't know about it. Told her at dinner and she will see "if" she can find it in her email. May have to over and set it up for her tomorrow.

A few more drops of rain this AM. It has gotten very quiet here. Have only seen a very few residents today. We did our usual of R&R and working the puzzle and procrastinating with taxes. So tomorrow is tax day and Easter decorating in the windows by the street.

Sharon, glad all is going well.

Ruthann, so glad your trip went well and you are now back. I can't believe the pool is not closed there. We closed everything here at least a month ago, maybe 3 weeks. Enjoy your time there.

So far things are going well. Very little traffic this morning. Houston was busier but not like normal. We found a truck stop and gassed up. Yes Norm wore a mask, disposable gloves and used hand sanitizer when finished. We pulled over and parked to eat a sandwich. Now we are traveling again. I am staying mostly inside except I walked Nala to grass when parked for a potty call. The grass was so full of sand burrs she was quick to do her thing and go back to the MH!

Ruthann - so what is the plan? Will tour son stay in Yuma or go back to Terry's with you. Where wilk he be looking for a job? I am glad you can relax for awhile now that tge trip is behind you.

Good morning. I am getting a break from all the goings on from March 24th until now.
Life is relaxing and we are enjoying every minute of it.
I did get two women this morning who lives in the park and they were nice and just was concerned about the MA. Plates. We told them we were very happy being quarantined. And that we were well.
And nothing was said that we had to leave. I donít think they could make us. We are both share holders.
They told me the pool was still open. That is weird. That is a pull to have people gather. ????
My old park that I lived in closed their pool a month ago.
I can get some work done around here while I have help.
Terry wants to come get me. NOT YET! I am enjoying the weather and time in my place.
OK. I feel like going outside. So I will be back later.
Relax and enjoy the new world. We now have less pollution.
There has to be good in this quarantine.
Stay smart and safe.

Heather: Buy your son a coffee pot for his room.
Sharon: stay smart.

84 degrees today. maybe go run through the hose.

Well, the treasured rain left us with about 20 drops this time. The forecast was totally off in our area but 100 miles north of us, they had huge hail and 60 MPH winds with 4+" rain. A couple mobile homes lost their roofs. Of course we didn't want that but we are more than 3" behind and that would soak in totally. Our temps went form the 80's to the 60's when the front came through.

We have an order to wear masks when out of the park of some form beginning tomorrow. Just heard we have lost our 1st person with COVID here in the RGV. So when we go out of the park, we will definitely have the face covered. So residents are also wearing masks when walking in the park.

Puzzle is going well finally. I will try to get a picture when done, if ever. Will probably have to stand on a ladder to get all of it in. It''s as long as out patio table and width is about 3/4 of the table. (a little bigger than a card table size)

Sharon, glad you are finally getting on the road as you are needing to. I know all will go well for you as knowing you, you are over prepared, well so. We did hear on CNN that the Gov'n of GA. wasn't aware the virus could be spread 24 hrs. before the symptoms appear. Hard to believe when we hear it every day. Safe travels dear friend!!

Heather, we use caution but aren't out in the public at all. We do grocery shopping once a week for mom and for us. Stores are limiting shopping to 1 person per family as the Hispanics come as huge family groups. Too much to be out and about. We do Senior hour at 6 AM to 7 AM. Sorry your son is in and out so much. Adult children can be a pain at times. They are still kids to you and I!! (If you want a good laugh, see my last blog. It's a stitch!!
I agree with your rant about 70 y/o nurses being called back to work. I let my license go and they tell us here they will pay to reactivate! Nope, no duty for me. Love retirement!!

TC, I am pulling for you going back to work. I do hope you take time to sit some while charting or with what you can do. I do hope you can do the full 12 hrs. Don't go backwards!!

WG, I haven't gotten "bored" yet. Roger is bordering on it but he is on the go all day long. I am enjoying working with the puzzle and cooking more as well as planning meals versus thinking about it as I am preparing it. Reading more too although I have taught myself to read myself to sleep. So getting ip earlier in the AM and then reading, seems to require nap time :-) I am finding things to do.

Eileen

Glad things are warming up for you these days!....

The thing that puzzles me about calling back retired nurses & doctors ....is that most of us will be around the 70 yrs old mark.
SO what is this...70 yrs & over should stay home! In One Breath! But 70 yr old nurses can be put in the thick of this virus emoticon

HI everyone. It is finally warming up here. Hopefully it will stay that way for a while. I'm so ready to go outside again and hate the cold. The dog and I can go out and he will run around and get his wiggles out. He is trying to be good and loves his walks but gets bored when the grands aren't here to play with.

Ruthann, welcome back. So glad you traveled safely. Enjoy being home in seclusion for a couple of weeks. It is a bit challenging, but necessary. I'm sure you and your DS will feel better resting and being away from the thick of things.

Heather, I remember having snow outside the back door on the 4th of July when I was younger, but we lived in the mountains and it was a lot cooler there than it is in other places. It is a challenge, for sure. I'm glad you get to see your DS. It is so hard not to be with people. I'm a solitary person and I am having a hard time. 6 feet is good. Wiping down or washing hands before touching face or food seems to be helpful.

Love the seeds. Spring needs to be here and things need to grow. It helps us all feel better.

Eileen, that is a big carrot if there is plenty for another meal from one carrot. It has to be nice to have a break and just be for a bit. I know you really prefer to go all the time, but it isn't always possible.

TC, good luck at work. The nurses here are going nuts and we really haven't had that much COVID-19. There are a couple of dozen cases in my town and 2 deaths in my county but I'm not seeing a lot. We have been staying apart and staying home for 3 weeks now so most people are obeying the rules and staying safe. Hopefully it will flatten the curve and reduce the spread.

It's a bit nerve wracking, I'm sure. They are calling for retired nurses and doctors. Life is interesting for sure. My nurse friends are a bit nervous and I think they like to be drama queens. If they are complaining now, it will be pretty awful in 2 weeks when we should be at our peak. We are short masks and gowns but have been promised more. It will work out.

Sharon, safe travels. Some people are using a t shirt to cover their mouths and noses. It seems a bit silly but it works well but so would a tea towel or a handkerchief. Lacking all of those, a pillow case would also be helpful to cover the mouth and nose. I'm sure you will be able to travel safely.

Marianne, stay safe. It seems like you have everything in hand.

I think I'll do one more grocery run. I can still order online and will also drop in to the local grocery for a bit. Last night, there were teens on their electric scooters running through the store. Someone on FB was upset and one of the kids who grew up in my neighborhood thought it was petty to fuss. He was a brat growing up and caused a lot of problems.

Remember, folks that even with all the death and illness most of the people of the world even in the hardest hit areas are doing well and either did not get the virus or have recovered and are doing well. We want to be careful so we aren't a statistic but not being important enough to be a statistic is good in this case.

Take care and I'm with Heather, laugh and smile and sing. We need to be happy to be strong. Have a safe weekend.

TC....Notifications fixed the day I complained & RE-subscribed emoticon
emoticon you are having so much grief with Mike's niece....not one bit surprised he is not much help....Men seem to think that women are all natural mothers! So he has left it all to you!
I keep ppl out of my space no problem! I have NO problem putting up my hand and asking them to please step back! emoticon

Carol....we are doing better than you in a way....we have no had snow now for about a month. But our huge snowbanks from the winter snow blowing will take forever to melt down! Our temps are over freezing all day now....we've had some rain off/on....and even night temps are not below freezing any more. Still the banks are not going away fast enough for me.

Just found out yesterday that our seasonal campsite in my home town probably won't open till at least June 15th .....maybe longer depending on what's happening at that point.

We cannot see any flowers yet because of our snow banks....but Alex planted seeds last Monday....and yesterday.....Friday ( so that would only be 5 days )
We saw this....

Good morning !

Heather, I hope you get your notification problem fixed.

Benda, I am glad you were able to get most of your shopping done. I, for one, am glad they are enforcing no children in the stores. I wish all of them were doing it. Parents are not thinking since children touch every thing.

Eileen, those carrots are huge ! I am glad they are sweet. Here, the bigger they are, the more woody they are. I am glad you found out about the golf cart parade. I would wear a mask all the same. As we nurse already know, most bacteria and virus' love metal. That is why the knee, hip, shoulder replacement patients are warned not to get an infection.

Sharon, I see no reason why you can not spend time with your family and see the house. Wash your hands. Be aware. Car trips are fine. If you get out, wear a mask to be safe as you can not control others getting too close or coughing on you. Mike is content with the situation as he does not have to cook, babysit, etc. One of the reasons. I am willing to try and get back to work. I had a small meltdown on the challenge thread... LOL !! Better now.

PJ, too bad you had to move sites again but I am also glad you are staying safe for now. Too bad you had to report the kids partying but glad you did.

Marianne, those are a bit extreme measures but with Pete, it pays to be a bit more careful, IMO. I was wondering about coming home from the hospital. I hate bathing twice a day but will not go to bed coming home from all those germs. I sweat during the night so have to bathe again in am. I have decided I will leave shoes at back door like I usually do, wash hands in kitchen, and disrobe in bathroom.

WG, I agree, that poor woman at the desk should definitely wear a mask ! I am glad the kids are being safe.

Kat, I am glad you have a job. Try not to get worn down.

Arlene, I hope you get to take your trip july 4th.

Back to work Monday. I am being positive but a bit nervous as I am hoping no pain or minimal. It is hard to simulate 12 hrs on my feet at home. I can get the steps in but not the constant standing. It will be good to get away from the kid. I think there is less stress at work or different stress any way. Therapy is only open mon-wed-fri but they will get me in tue-thur this next week since I am working. I thought that was nice. They are as anxious as I about how I am able to handle work. LOL !

emoticon to have been MIA on this thread..
So far behind ...... so will not even try to respond to the posts ( I have been reading them every day )

Just wanted to reassure Sharon & Norm that I think they are making the right move & that I also think that they are NOT heading into doomsday.
If you keep your distance from ppl if you are out of your trailer.....Norm wears disposable gloves at the gas pumps......etc...etc... ( basically things you are doing where you are now)THEN all will go well.
And this confinement time will be SO much nicer for you both being with your son & his wife.

I have been busy Spring Cleaning in the house. But my son is coming & going even though he has finished work a week ago and therefore not using the spare room as an office any more.
His girlfriend & him are not getting along & her 14 yr old triplets continue to fight all day when she is working as a tech at a pharmacy.
My son now comes on the days she is working to get away from the kids so he can have some peace & quiet.

We stay 6 ft apart when he comes in.....he goes to the spare room.....and only comes downstairs where we are to make a coffee.....we are either somewhere else....(not in the kitchen ) or we make sure we are 6ft apart as he makes his coffee.....
Something tells me these 2 will be breaking up.....so he will temporarily move here till he finds his own apt. emoticon
My emotions are running rapid..... emoticon emoticon

Anyway.....enough moaning ...I hate moaning! Would rather be joking & laughing any day!

Good Morning!

Well, our rain started late yesterday and it's still raining. Today is our last day here and it's supposed to rain all day. It will give us plenty of time to get ready (put things away) so we can travel.

Yesterday we had our last gathering. We had three couples and we sat well apart. We all agreed this year was so different from previous years. No going away dinners, no hugs! One of the other couples are leaving in the morning too. The other couple are waiting for their truck to be repaired. They are waiting for a part to arrive so they can fix it. They hope they will be out of here when they get their truck back.

Eileen - I think your golf cart parade will be fun! We sure have gotten the rain overnight. I hope you got some rain too.

WG - I don't know what has changed (again) but today we have our TV reception once again. So we will be able to watch some TV today. Thank you for reassuring me that we will be OK to travel to our son's place. Most everyone is full of fear so they think we are headed into our doomsday! I believe we will be OK or we wouldn't go. Doesn't mean me don't have a healthy fear but that is OK too.

Marianne - I know you enjoy your glass cutting so I hope you can get out to your shop and spend some time. Pete is doing fine with the computer, it sounds like.

PJ - I am so ready to just move on. We have been thinking and rethinking this entirely too long. Now that we have made a decision, I'm ready to move! I would also like to think we will all get along better after this but with the election coming, I don't think it will happen!

Arlene - It's difficult to think of you still having snow! It has been so hot here the last few days. I am looking forward to some cooler temps! Sorry your Easter plans had to be canceled. Lots of canceled plans for sure. I do feel sorry for the Seniors who will not graduate this year.

Ruthann's trip seems to have went well. She texted me yesterday that they have arrived in Arizona and were approximately 6.5 hrs from Yuma! I'm sure they will be glad to arrive and get some good rest!

Nothing new the past couple days. Cook and clean. Work on my puzzle etc.

This evening heard a new weather report and it sounds a little strong. Do hope we get rain but not the hail and strong winds. Might be a short on sleep night and day tomorrow but we have battened down the hatch and ready for whatever! Might get a few drops.

No Friday night games so watching our usual Friday night programs. I think we are all looking forward to the golf cart parade on Mon. Talked to several other that didn't know and they will be participating as well as us. Could be a big one!

The carrots are DELICIOUS!! Had one for the 3 of us with leftovers. So sweet and tender!!

Hi Everyone. Wile we've been social distancing for two weeks, we are now going to the next level. It doesn't change what we have been doing. My kids have been good and not taking their kids out and have been home except for three who work at essential jobs. The rest work from home.

Eileen, love your carrots. I'm glad you have been getting good fresh produce. It's so fun to get some. The carrots look great. Enjoy your meals with them. It sounds like your park is doing a lot to keep the residents safe and happy. I'm glad you have those opportunities.

Heather, hope you get your notifications again. It's a bother.. Hope you are safe and doing well.

Sharon, I'm sorry that your plans aren't going well. I agree that it would be nice to get to go. WIth bad reception, it makes it harder still. Hopefully you can find some things to do so you can enjoy while waiting. You should be safe leaving and traveling. You will be extra careful. I"m sure your daughter will understand. It is pretty bad in MI.

It looks like New York has peaked. They are thinking the rest of the country will follow and the middle states will peak in two weeks. We will peak in 3 weeks or so. Hopefully that is the case and we can start to breathe and do more normal things. I'm not planning on the restrictions being lifted here before the end of May at the earliest. I think it may actually not happen until late June.

In your MH, you will be safe and will do OK. You can do this. I'm so glad you can be with family and have more to do, not socially but in other ways. It will be nice for Norm to have a project and you can spread out a bit.

PJ, glad you have moved. It is nice that you have a nice place to stay and are comfortable. You might not mind the shade as it will be getting warmer.

Brenda, glad you are making plans. It should be good and everyone will love having visitors. I'm still crossing fingers that life will be much more normal in a few months. It will be nice for the world to have things settle down.

Kat, take care of you. So glad you are doing well.

Marianne, I'm glad you are getting produce as well. it has to be so nice. I loved living in California and having so much produce available. I do miss harvesting the strawberries after the field had been cleaned. it was so much fun.

It has been Ok here even with all of the restrictions to go for a ride or bike or walk outside. It has been OK to hike and to be in the back yard. The idea is to not share and not be with others. I can't see a two hour ride being a fun thing every day but if they feel better, that works.

My son came by last night and took the croquet set. They are trying to find ways for the kids to have fun. One set of grands does a biking trail every day. It works and sometimes they even do it with others but the others come separately.

Today besides play with the dog is to get some more things done. I have sewing to do

Have a great day.

Eileen, those are great carrots. I signed us up for a farm to home veggie delivery box every other week, and am looking forward to the first one next week. Sorry about the heat. emoticon

Sharon, problems with the tv sounds particularly awful now that weíre all stuck at home. Pete is doing lots of website work for several organizations but I drag him out to walk the dogs with me as long as the weather allows.

PJ, Iím seeing examples of compassion and care in our area, but youíre right, not holding my breath for the politicians. We have RV reservations, paid for, on the California coast at the end of May. I suspect that trip may not happen. Our state leaders donít want anyone on the road unless itís for medical or grocery reasons. Beaches, public and state parks all closed. The virus numbers are super high in the Bay Area. emoticon

Brenda, sure hope the Yellowstone trip is possible. As soon as things calm down weíre going to visit various family members and a few friends ó all spread out over our state.

Iíve been sewing and cooking, and if the weather warms up a bit more, I can go work on glass projects in my unheated shop. Iím kind of anxious to get out there and the bonus is no opportunity to snack while cutting glass. emoticon

I sure hope all this is over for the future trips everyone is planning.

Sharon I don't see a problem with getting in our own cars and just driving around. I just keep thinking about Heather and Alex shopping when he said well we do sleep together. SO I don't see any harm.

As far as getting groceries it is in and out for us too. But I do enjoy getting out of this campground once every 7-10 days. Oh I think we will all appreciate it so much when things get back to normal. Hopefully we as a human race Americans can get along better and be kinder. With that being said I don't think the politicians will act any differently Unfortuntely.

Every one take care

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Everything is going okay for us. With hopes that all of this will be over by July we made our reservations for our annual stay in Bismarck for the 4th holiday. They did say that if there is still an issue they will refund our money.

We have a covering of snow and the temps are way too low for my liking but we know that at this time of the year it won't last long. Easter will probably be a bummer though since we had planned on going to Jennys with a day trip to Fargo to see my sister. I haven't seen her new home since they moved back to ND.

We do have to make a grocery run today some time but we always make it a quick trip in and out with no visiting.

Well I should get busy around here. I never seem to run out of things I "should" be doing.

Morning!

Another day! Our TV reception is so bad we really can't watch it. So we are reduced to reading and puttering in the MH. These last few days are going to go slow.

Our community back in MI had a big discussion on FaceBook yesterday. It was over whether it is OK to pile yourself in your car and just go for a ride. Our neighbors here go sight seeing for a couple hours every day. They never get out of their car so they don't see any reason they have to stay at home. Plus, the media encourage us to go to drive thru restaurants to keep them from losing their business. The line is so blurred, everyone is confused!

It's overcast today and later the rain is supposed to move in and stay around for the next few days. Norm is going to put everything outside away before it starts raining. He will take our steps apart and store them. Nala won't be happy but oh well.

Kat - thanks for popping in and letting us know you remain busy but are OK.

Brenda - I am glad you are moving ahead with your trip to Yellowstone. I hope and pray we are over with this shut down by August!!!

Eileen - I loved those big carrots. I expected to find them here but no such luck! I guess that is a RGV thing! So how long do you think you will be staying in your park? At least you will be able to participate in the next golf cart parade!

PJ - Nice that you can still see a little of the water! Hopefully, you won't be there too long or the darker site with more trees sounds like it would grow mold with the heat and humidity in Texas!

Good morning , not much going on here just piddle around the house yesterday.

WE did make reservations for Yellowstone for the beginning of Aug hopefully this will all be done by then we will just have to watch & see and cancel if need be .

I see Menards are not letting children under the age of 16 in at all. I think it is a good idea. and our 2 Walmart are closing all doors except the grocery side to get in and one person out one person in . as I posted earlier when we went by it looked like a normal day shopping . and Meijers looked like it was Christmas time.

going to be fairly nice today maybe 60 . so the weather is getting better .

Eileen those are some Huge carrots ! Going to go have a great safe day

Trying to eat healthy exercise daily, slow down my pace in life think positive and all in all get in Better Shape and Keep Heart healthy and enjoy the life God has given me.

I was going to work on the taxes today but got distracted in the kitchen. Ended up reorganizing all the drawers and the pantry. cleaning out and organizing the frig. Had to run the dishwasher with the changes. We had several leftovers and ended up making a roast beef with corn and rice in a gravy. Very tasty. Had potatoes leftover and used it and a potato topping. Then of course we had cinnamon candy apples, coleslaw and pudding salads. They had freshly made homemade bread. Most that came out of our frig so it does look much emptier than after shopping yesterday!

Our veggies man came for the last day this season and I got my wonderfully huge and sweet carrots. 2 of the carrots as so big, they will make at least 3 meals for the 3 of us. Here's a picture with them sitting by a gallon of water for reference. The ones on the left are the huge ones. The other are very big as well. Hope it's not sideways!

Found out about the golf cart parade. It was spontaneous and they gathered in the parking lot to wish a Happy Birthday to our neighbors. Decided they had so many comments that it will happen every Mon. at 7 PM. So now that many more of us know, the parade will get bigger than the 65 carts. And people will be out of their units to watch the parade! Being creative!

Hope you all are doing well. Read the current posts and glad you are all doing your thing. It's the best we can do. When we leave when we can, we will have the most shiny truck on the road. Roger may start on the camper but it's not needing chrome cleaner nor waxing.

Got the trailer moved to our new campsite this morning. Frank is outside finishing up and I have been cleaning inside. This site doesn't have the lake view and is darker more trees less open. So it will be a change. We can see the small cove next to us just not the main lake.

Morning!

My mood has lifted since we decided to leave on Sunday. Now I can get ready to move. I have been thinking a lot about us leaving. I certainly have a fair amount of fear but I also know that most of our park has left and have had no problems traveling so that reassures me some.

That being said, we do have to do one last grocery run, either today or tomorrow. I also want to get my laundry and bill paying caught up.

Eileen - you are lucky you have room to move around. Ii never realized how small our MH feels until confined to it all day! I went through my closet and pulled out the clothes I can no longer wear (I did lose some weight this winter) and intended to put them in a drop box. But due to the local shut downs, they are not accepting donations at this time!! I never even thought about it.

WG - it sounds like you are doing well and have some contact with the kids and grandkids! It will be difficult to go home and not be able to visit my DD in her new house. I am anxious to see it. She will not be happy to find out we are heading to Casey's. She thinks we need to stay put. But, I think we will be fine. Casey & Zona have been "stay at home" for two weeks and so have we so I don't think we'll be passing the virus around.

Brenda - sounds like you are stocked up to weather this storm. I sure hope our restrictions are lifted by the end of the month. Our best friends here are from Carthage, IL and they have decided to head home on Sunday as well. They live on a farm out in the middle of nowhere so it's just the travel they have to be concerned about. Yes, we have discussed the men having to gas up. We both have disposable gloves and will wash after gasing up.

Marianne - I think Norm and Casey will love the time together as they are close. Casey already has a couple work projects he's hoping to get Norm's help with. Zona and I will be OK but we both like our solitude so we will be mindful of that. During the week, Casey and Zona will both be working so it will be mostly evenings and weekends that we will spend together. They expect us to stay the whole month of April! We will take it day by day and see how it goes.

PJ - just seeing all the people here leave makes me want to move to. I sure hope we don't regret it! It is also getting so hot here. 90+ in the day time and only down to 70's at night. The a/c is running so much but at least we are comfortable inside. I agree if we went home, we could only spend time in and around the house. Hopefully, this shut down will end at the end of the month! Will you head home after May 1st?

We got our groceries without difficulty this AM. Again, the people were great in line and also at maintaining social distance. We are on shelter in place but can go for gas, groceries and medical only. It was reiterated again today. Some areas people are not following the order. We consider sheltering in place as in the park. At this time we don't have anyone ill here but Hildago county (our county) had 8 new cases this AM with out total of 46. There are 79 cases through the entire Valley so not rampid as of now. We really would love to get home and that would allow us to do more but we do have a house here and not living in our camper. And mom doesn't have anything she is interested in doing except our dinner each night.

Sharon, we didn't know a thing about the golf cart parade. Just saw them start coming by our house. Would have loved to join them but they were gone before we realized it. There are a lot of golf carts in the park and the full time residents have the majority of them. RVers can rent them in the park. Our neighbor rents a lot of them out. We have had some chalk writing on patios which have been fun. Guess we are all trying to break up the monotony of not cards or games unless in private homes. I wish you the best in your travels. Be sure Norm wears gloves when fueling up. They pushed that hard as the virus can live on metal for 3 days. When we go we will remain self contained as well. Stop for gas and a parking lot for sleep. Not sure we can find a campground let alone going into the office to register.

I think I am going to have Roger get our Easter decorations down out of the "attic" and see if we can decorate a little out doors like the golf cart and steps. Might be kind of fun. We are told we might get a good rain on Fri. night and all day Sat into Sun. Let's hope they are right. Enough dirt flying around, makes one sneeze! Gardenia trees are in full bloom too. Several in the park.

Eileen

Wow, what a difference a day makes. It is nice to see that everyone is having a lot happening in your lives. Of course, I would rather it was truly all fun, but it does help break the monotony.

Eileen, it seems like a lot of work to get your groceries but I'm glad that WM has enough to keep you going. It is so hard when you can't visit your regular store and find things you need. It sounds like you and your mom are eating well. That is a good thing. I hope it doesn't get too hot for you.

I love the idea of a golf cart parade. It sounds like such fun. I'm glad there were so many and you could enjoy them. It is fun to see how many ways we find to rise above our challenges and enjoy life.

TC, I can see why you would need to go back to work even if you don't feel well enough to do so. Hopefully you will be able to do well anyway. Do you wear support hose when you work?
It sounds like your convalescence was not restful. I do hope that the kid and Mike enjoy doing their own cooking. I don't know which would be worse, cleaning up after them or having to cook every day.

The kid is frustrating. I wish I could connect her with my niece. She is needy also and they could talk for days about how unfair life is. My niece isn't sexually active, though and I'm pretty sure it would gross her out to think about it.

I was at the local hospital today. It was interesting to see all the "patient care staff" wearing masks and having to go through the "tent" to be screened. However, the lady at the admission desk was sitting across from me less than 4 feet without a mask. This nice lady was certainly in the demographic that she shouldn't have been there without PPE (personal protective equipment.) It was frustrating that they decided she didn't have direct patient contact.

That is my rant for the day.

Sharon, I'm so glad you are going to your son's. You will be fine in the open air. Norm needs to wash his hands after each gas fill up, but other than that, the virus isn't going to jump out and get you.

Social distancing with your son and DIL sounds much better than being stuck and unable to go anywhere with more amenities shutting down. It will be a hard year for everyone but it will pass and we will all survive and even thrive.

It sounds like your plans are pretty solid and it isn't too far. Take care of yourself and do what works for you.

I do see my grandkids a little. I have the Dragon here right now. He's six feet away and came to walk the dog. They have such fun together. I've seen all but two of the grands since the sheltering order came two weeks ago. I don't hug or do much with them, but I do get to see them and talk with them.

The kids are all now doing Marco Polo and they talked me into doing it with them. I do see videos now and we "chat" as a family quite regularly. It isn't the same as being with them, but I have some contact and since this will probably go on through the entire summer, I need to get a fix whenever I can.

PJ, glad you got your grocery run in. I think of Matthew McConnaughey and his wife. When they were in Louisiana, she cooked all their meals from Dollar General food. It was eye opening. I'm glad you can get what you need there.

Have a safe move to the next site. I'm glad you were able to get the kids gone. It is the kids who aren't being careful that can cause problems.

Marianne, it is so hard not to do things with the grands. I think your sheltering is more restrictive although three counties near me have placed that order as well. It is silly since if people had just had social distancing and followed the rules, we wouldn't have to make them more strict.

I hope that this quarantine is going to work for your communities and the spread will lessen and you can return to your life and visiting your family. I'm glad Stacey is far away. I'm sure she is being super careful.

I'm glad you have dogs to walk so you can get outside.

I'm going to visit with Dragon. He's having such fun. Have a great day.

Eileen, golf cart parade sounds fun and something we could do here, but not until after shelter in place order is lifted. I might suggest it as a way to celebrate when we are able. emoticon

TC, emoticon Such a difficult spot to be in with Mike and his niece.

PJ, glad you are able to get out and do your own shopping, and I get how strange things are. Our deaths and virus cases are doubling every few days in our county; Iím literally afraid to go out and possibly bring CV back to Pete. I have to order groceries online at least a week ahead, with no guarantee theyíll have what we need, drive to store parking lot and wait for them to put order in the car. No toilet paper, Iíd have to shop in person. Then I have to wipe everything down before bringing it in the house, remove clothes in laundry room and shower and change. These measures may seem extreme but are recommended in our part of CA.

Sharon, actually I think your son and his wife made a smart decision, especially since they have plenty of room. You both will have each other to talk to and the space to get off by yourself when needed. You and Norm will be safer. My son in law tried to get us to join them in the country but weíd be in our RV quite a bit because their house doesnít have an extra bedroom. And Pete would be far from his cardiologist if needed, but I am torn. Iím with your DD, I miss my grandkids so much. At least mine are old enough to understand the situation and talk on the phone ó toddlers must get confused.

Sun and temps in the mid-60ís all week, before rain returns on Saturday. Good opportunity to get Pete and the dogs out for a walk.

Did our grocery shopping yesterday. Bought as much as was on my list as we could at Dollar General (they had eggs) and got our Aleve etc too. Then to Family Dollar they had the coffee filters that we needed. Then on to Walmart. They were limiting family members to one (unless a handicapped person was involved) So I went in by myself. I will say it was nice not to have a crowd and the shelves did have more on them but I will tell you it was spooky felt like I was in a SciFy movie for the end of time. I was almost in tears it shook me up. I had not been afraid before, taking all the precautions recommended but this really hit me. I was a bundle of nerves. I asked the checker if they had any hand sanitizer She told me all those type of products plus toilet paper were being placed in the Layaway area (I'm sure to keep better track of them). I did not go back to get any as we still have some in the trailer.

We had more rain go through last night and have texted all the kids. All are ok. The Granddaughter in law is expecting baby#2 May 2 so is quite nervous. As we all are for her and the baby.

They had to run off a group of college students out of the park on Sunday as they came in with out paying were drinking and playing loud music. I called the park office and asked them to send someone over to check (It was right across from us) They ended up throwing them out. We went up to pay up our bill today and the manager told us that the sheriff and other law enforcement had called to tell them that the socializing must be strictly enforced or they would be shut down. He also told us that if we see anything wrong to immediately let him know. I am so thankful we are able to stay here but do hope we don't have to stay any longer than May 1 and hoping we can go home before then. But not expecting that to happen

Sharon I have mixed emotions about you leaving but so glad you will be with your family. Tony sayds they are still watching the grands (they only live a few houses away) but it is helping things feel normal for both of those families and the grands) or at least somewhat normal. I definitely undersand you wanting to move on. I know all this is wearing on me nerves are stretched to the ends but at least we do have people around us here the only thing we could do at home is work in the yard and try and get groceries.

TC I pray you can get along ok at work. It will be hard but it will get you away from the issues at home. I think you have both of them spoiled so maybe make sure they have to eat leftovers instead of fresh as much. Take care at work and if you can't do it say so.

We change campsites tomorrow and the reason we have to move is the site we are in has been reserved This is a regular that reserves this site starting April 1 and has done that for years. We do understand and are just grateful they had another site we could take for a month on this same loop. Frank is out packing up what he can for the move. I have a pork roast in the crockpot for dinner tonight

Everyone please take care.

Good Morning!

Well, be it right or wrong, we have made the decision to pull out of here Sunday morning and head to our son's place. After chatting with them last night, they talked a long time and decided they want us to be with them. So they called this morning and encouraged us to come there. They have a huge home and lots of land and said we could be quarantined with them!! The second floor of their home has a sitting room, bedroom and kitchette so it's almost like a MIL suite! So we have decided rather than sit here alone watching TV, that we would enjoy the time with them instead.

Our MH is self contained so Nala and I won't even have to get out. Norm will have to get gas along the way but otherwise we can be there in two days. Our closest friends are also leaving Sunday so after Sunday we would have no one here to visit with. We continue to sit outside together for a couple hours each day. Doesn't sound like much but it really does break up our days. We really hated the thought of being here by ourselves. So we are getting excited to go.

We hope we are making the right decision. Our camping neighbors that left on Sunday have had no issues. I talked to her this morning and they will be home by afternoon. They are glad they left. She said there is quite a bit of traffic on the interstates so not everyone is staying put. Lots of snowbirds are traveling home.

TC - I don't blame you one bit for how you are feeling. I wish I had answers for you. Are you making any progress on getting her out of your home. Or is Mike OK with the situation and not pushing. I do worry about you going back to work already. I know it will be nice to get out and be with other people but you do so much walking!

Eileen - by leaving on Sunday, we will go get a few essentials at WM at the end of the week. I will also get my laundry done as well. Why the golf cart parade? Was everyone just waving goodbye? I bet it was fun. Our park is so small, we only have a couple golf carts in the whole park!

WG - do you have any of your family come over? My daughter was feeling sorry for herself last night when we talked. Up until this weekend, her married kids came to visit. On Sunday MI has a no more family gatherings. If you don't live together, you can't visit. She misses her grandbaby so much. Wayde is a toddler now and he keeps taking his shoes to his mother and say "Bye, Bye" He, too, is missing Grandma!

We are enjoying another hot and humid day here with lots of wind! I am really tired of this wind and look forward to getting away from it.

Good morning team !

Even though we are doing without some things, we at least have essentials. I really worry about all the pets being adopted so people are not so bored at home. What happens once the crisis is over ? Pets are expensive and some people will not be going back to work possibly.

My knee is much better but my thigh continues to be swollen and sore. P.T. Thought it may be a tight IT band so doing more stretches. The incisions are healed, small bruises. Going back to work next week and kind of nervous. Just getting in the door is a pita.

The kid is on my last nerve. She sneaks up on me while i am working. I cuss her under my breath because i feel like if i correct her or ask her to do anything she will have a melt down and threaten suicide again. She makes it a point to tell me she folded the blanket on back of couch when done using it because i nagged her. I have asked her ONCE to do this and it was not even that day.

She always has a better story or the same thing has happened to her when mike and i are talking about other things. I ask her to clean up after herself, otherwise i do not ask anything. Meanwhile, i baby sit when mike leaves town, i entertain her, i do laundry, groceries, cook, potty all dogs 4 times a day, pay all bills except gas electric, clean house. If the cooked meal is fresh, both of them are right there to eat it. Both of them prefer fresh cooked over left overs so often eating freezer meals, junk foods etc instead of left overs. Sorry gang, i am frustrated.

Another day and we wondered what to do. Roger chose to wash the truck by hand. Had a couple neighbors stop him and ask if he has a tool they needed. Yep, he had plenty. Kept him busy. I relaxed and then went to work on my puzzle and to my surprise, I got several groups of pieces together. Small pieces as well as on large one which is the female Cardinal.

Made dinner for us. A Rump roast we found last week with potatoes and green beans. Mom enjoyed but it was a little too pick for her. By the time we got piece on our plates, the pink was gone. She couldn't get her food processor to work so we put that together so she can make coleslaw for dinner tomorrow night.

We will be heading out to WM tomorrow for our 6 AM shopping spree. Going to the big store as our Neighborhood store just can't get resupplied. What little they do get goes out the door fast. So we figure we can drive a mile farther for a bigger choice. Mom is getting groceries too so I do have to go with Roger.

Somehow the park got together and had a golf cart parade. We didn't know about it but they came down our road and kept coming and coming. Found out there were 65 golf carts. Maybe they didn't want 66 (bad number:-)D)

Heading for bed early tonight as I will need to be up about 5-ish tomorrow AM. No rain...... means no grass to cut, no weeds, only dirt to blow around!

Hi everyone. It's cloudy/rainy here today. It was supposed to be warm and sunny from the forecast last week but it isn't. I did my grocery run this morning. Fortunately I don't need TP yet so I"m in good shape. I mostly got fresh food so it was an easy run and I got everything I needed.

Sharon, I'm sorry you are feeling in a funk. I know you hate being isolated. It makes it harder when you don't sleep. I hope that you can find a new normal that is social enough to be OK. It looks like you made a good choice to stay where you are. Keep the curve low.

Marianne, I hope your next grocery order is a bit better. I think things are getting better slowly. It may take longer than the two weeks that we I talked a few minutes with the grocery clerk when I got my order. She was very nice and pick up has minimal contact. We had a fun visit about crazy people and the terrible panic buying they were doing. I'm sure there will be a lot of foods that are thrown away when this is over because they bought things in quantities they couldn't use.

Eileen, it sounds very peaceful but unsettled. I'm sure you would rather be able to keep to your schedule but it is probably good to be there anyway. Hopefully you will get rain soon.

I'm off to get some things done. I didn't sleep particularly well since I had to be at the grocery store by 9. I often get my best sleep between 6 am and 11 am.

Have a great day.

Morning!
It is really quiet here in the park. I didn't sleep well last night. I heard Norm get up to go for coffee with the men (only 4 now) but I decided I would roll over and go back to sleep. Then the park maintenance took to mowing the lawn at 7:30!!! No more sleep for me!

No rain today (yet) but it is overcast and looks like it could rain any minute. I think that is why the mowing started so early so it could get done before the rain and the heat of the day.

Eileen - sorry you guys aren't getting the rain but I am glad you are forced to slow down.

Marianne - it bugs me that we should be headed home but aren't but you are right, we are better off here. I just hope we can leave by the end of April!

TC - I am glad you aren't working right now. Those medical that are really have are on their feet much longer than you should be! Your roasts sound delicious.

PJ - good luck on grocery shopping today. We have a Family Dollar that has been a good place to find stuff by us.

I hope everyone is surviving this shut down without too much emotional distress.

I haven't watched Love it or List it for a very long time. The few shows I did watch, I thought the couple were very annoying! I have lots of things to watch. Today we watched a program on wild life in taking care of the new born. Also kind of made my eyes tear up as they had an arctic fox with a nasal fungus and long story short she died while getting the medication into the nasal cavity. She looked so like Angel and it brought back too many memories on her death.

Did get a few drops of rain, enough to wet the street. Looks like we will be waiting for the next chance to see if the clouds can find us!

Nothing significant happened today. We didn't do anything besides getting dinner over to mom's and dining with her.

Brenda, loved the video of Lilya and the piano. She is sure growing fast. My phone died so wasn't on it today. I have been working on my puzzle and finding about 5-7 pieces that fit, in over an hr. A really tough one that I hope to have done before leaving. Probably not!

Sharon, we had problems with sand burrs in a couple parks last summer and Daisy had to remove her own while we could pick out Keeleigh's. We can't have visitors nor are any RVs allowed in. We are 5 days into this and it's going well. We do drive by golf cart visits when someone is out!

TC, how's the knee doing? Glad you are getting around but as we say, don't push it too hard.

Eileen, glad you were able to slow down and take it fairly easy for a day. I sure remember how hard it was to get my mother to give up driving, her doctor was finally willing to acknowledge her dementia made her dangerous just as we convinced her to stop after she ran into a fence post and then took out our newspaper delivery tube.

Heather, that gal in line behind you probably got lots of laughs re-telling your story. emoticon

WG, unfortunately, we canít order TP, and many other paper products yet. High demand items arenít showing up on the website for either of our major grocery stores.

PJ, my friend went to Dollar General in the early morning a few days ago and was able to get TP and water before they sold out. She lives in an area where they canít drink the tap water so was getting desperate. Good luck.

Sharon, glad youíre not heading back to MI very soon ó looks like there are quite a few cases there. As I said on the other thread, weíve been staying at home for nearly 3 weeks. Difficult at times, for sure.

TC, I like the premise of Love It or List It, and watch occasionally, but frankly, both of the hosts are annoying. emoticon We have Roku and a subscription to Acorn, with several fun, new-to-us programs.

There have been a series of rain storms and hopefully they take a break tomorrow. Of course, neither dog is thrilled to go outside when itís cold and wet. We do have artificial grass behind the house which makes cleaning up much easier.

WG, sorry to hear you are sleeping poorly. I think most people are just because of the virus stress.

Sharon, I am glad you do not HAVE to move yet. Stay alert. Symptoms do not show up until 14 days after exposure from what I am reading.

Heather, I am like Alex. LOL !! I get lazy after I get my 10K in also. I can just hear you in line.., LOL ! What a hoot !

Brenda, I have been watching movies instead of regular tv. There area a ton I have not seen since I do not walk as much as Mike and when I do, I prefer outdoors. I have never liked the show love it or list it. Something about the woman irritates me... LOL !!

Eileen, I am glad to hear mom did not drive herself ! Wow !

PJ, I hope they have enough produce for you to stay healthy. They are slowly restocking shelves here. Maybe the panic will die down a bit.

Marianne, I am glad you are staying safe but what a pain to not be able to get what you need when you need it. Makes us more grateful for what we do have, eh ?

Nothing new here. Cooked some yesterday. Got a good deal on roasts so in freezer now. I still have a chicken left over that I need to cook in a casserole since it was raw from the rotisserie.

Heather thanks for the laugh. I think you and Alex really have a good sense of humor maybe one day we will get to meet

Yestereday was a dreary day so it was an inside day. Today the sun is out but I am so missing family and home. Even though I realize if we were home I would still not be able to see my family. Just so we all stay healthy so one of these weeks we can see all again. Thats what really matters.

We will be attempting to get groceries tomorrow. I think we will try Dollar General first as it is the closest and go from there. I hate the thought of Walmart but I know we will be there also.

I pray all that are traveling will be safe.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Morning! Another of our good friends (our next door campers) pulled out this morning to go back to their home in NC. I hope they don't have any problems traveling.

As of midnight last night, we are on a "Stay At Home" ordinance until April 14th. That means our little pizza gathering we had last night is no longer allowed. Fortunately living in the RV park, we can walk around the park for exercise. I took Nala for her morning walk. She went off the road into the grass to do her business but I had to pick out 12 sand burs when we got back home. So no more grass stops! The burs are really bad around here.

Eileen - we also pray those workers did not bring in the virus. They have been here a week now so I think we may be OK. With the new ordinance, the RV parks are also on a shut down so they can't allow any more RV's to come in.

Heather - I understand about the store! The guy in front of us only had a couple items. He put the bar divider up so we started putting our things on the belt. A store employee came up and requested we step back to the red line which is the 6 ft social distancing. We never thought about looking on the floor for a line! Not a problem but I chuckled as all the way throughout the store no one stayed 6 ft apart. H.E.B. has now started an outdoor line and will only allow people in the store as others leave. So it's a pain which helps keep everyone at home.

WG - do you live in Utah or Wyoming? For some reason I thought you lived in Wyoming but something you mentioned made me wonder if you don't live in Utah! We are hanging in as best we can but our county's new ordinance will keep us inside even more. We will do it willingly with no complaints as our county is still virus free and we want to keep it that way.

A very lazy day! Worked on the puzzles and found a few more pieces.

Had gotten a pizza for dinner. Roger and mom a regular pepperoni and me a cauliflower crust cheese as that's all there was. It sure didn't bake up well. Thought I was eating cheese on top of mash potatoes. It was small and I could only eat half.

Waiting for some rain now.

Our neighbors drove home in their car. No camper so would have to stop twice at motels. Took lots of cleaning supplies with. I would be more frightened to try that than going in the camper.

Sharon, I do hope the workers didn't bring the virus to your park!! La. is becoming a big hot spot since Mardi Gras. It seems to have been a very lazy day here too. Must be the weather and staying in.

WG, I think it's just old age forgetfulness bur the stubbornness has been there the entire time I have known her. Sewing is very relaxing. I have to think about getting mine out and enjoy.

Heather, I had to laugh at your standing in line!! We sure to have to have "spirit" in our lives right now. Any line either of us have stood in, people are good about being at a distance. Reminds me of the song "From a Distance"

Eileen

Hi Gang.... emoticon

Eileen......I think that basically the USA & Canada are all in lockdown in some form or another. We have been asked to stay home and not have any gatherings. We can go for groceries but the stores now only allow certain no. of people in the store at one time. Partly to prevent over crowding and also because they only had every 2nd checkout open.
We can also go to any store that sells food like WalMart & even Dollar stores and Giant Tiger.

I did notice a BIG reduction in traffic at all the stores that are open though. We had to go to our Atlantic Superstore today for a few things....we were first in line at the door....and a single woman came up behind us.
Alex stepped on the first red line and pointed at the one behind him and told me to stand on it.

I SAID......I think not! Alex says your suppose to...!
I SAID .....Oh for goodness sake sweetheart.....I sleep in the same bed as you every night! emoticon
The lady behind us cracked right up! emoticon emoticon emoticon
THAT's right.....she said!

Our local paper had photos people sent them with all this stay home and social distancing and what they were doing.
There was one picture of 2 sisters out for a walk.....and the caption said.....
So & So ....siblings.....out for a walk and practicing social distancing. They were walking approx 6 ft apart in the photo.

Alex & I chuckled at that one.....they were walking 6 ft apart out walking but were going home to live in the same house??? Some things people are doing are not making sense to me.

A woman I know who works at the Superstore was working today. She told me as we chatted each on the other side of a floor cooler......that she was very nervous working because of her older sick husband with a compromised immune system.
Told her that if ppl approach her to ask her where something was or just to chat like we were doing.....that she should not be shy or afraid to put her hand up ( as in halt! ) And ask them to please step back to talk to her!
She asked if I thought ppl would be upset if she did that.....told her * To Bad *.....it is YOUR right!

TC..no we are not sitting all day. I am getting some much needed cleaning done. Alex has been back on his treadmill but does tend to sit and watch movies once his 10,000 steps are done LOL
Today we worked out back chopping some built up ice and planting a few seeds in the trays in the hothouse.

WG.......sewing can be a nice stress reliever.....good for you. We had take out pizza tonight for supper......back to home cooking tomorrow though.

Sharon.....we have been sleeping in most mornings as well. Guess we are all * over tired * from doing nothing eh? THAT is really hard work you know! emoticon

Marianne......I am going to try to get out for a walk.....it is getting warmer....sidewalks are improving....even though there is a fair amount of water from the thawing that is starting!
We can order online if need be but we both are healthy ....( no compromised immune systems ) and we are not talking face to face with anyone when we shop.

PJ......we always have something in the fridge/ freezer to use here and our menus are all in the air each day.....
But we always manage even if we do not feel like going shopping.

TC....please do not over do too soon with your walking/steps Like Sharon said....re-injury can nake things worse and will keep you off work even longer emoticon

Hi Everyone. It is cloudy here and snowed a bit again last night. I'm looking for warmer weather so the dog and I can spend more time outside. He loves to run around but won't do it alone. A bit too cool to do sit and watch him.

Marianne, I have had things not available as well. Just keep ordering. The stuff will come in soon. I know that cleaning supplies and TP are showing up in the stores again here.

Eileen, glad you have a moment to relax and take care of your mom. CVA? dementia? chemical imbalance? sight or hearing problem? It's so hard to see loved ones start to fail. It makes it harder when there isn't a lot you can do for her. Don't know why we get so stubborn when we get older. It is so hard to let go of being independent even if it takes a lot of effort on others parts to keep us that way.

I hope your friends get home safely and can be safe at home. It is so hard. If no one has been in their home in the past few days, they should be safe anyway and not need to live in their MH.

SS, glad you are taking a rest. It is hard to not do a lot. I hope you are finding some fun reading and you and Norm can enjoy some good movies online as they are playing nothing but old ball games.

Gotta go and get sewing. Will finish quilting a top today and maybe get a top sewn. It was close. I will make some masks when I'm done with that. I have a birthday for Snow White next week and need to get something made for her to enjoy.

Have a great day.
