I have a team of over 151,000 and only about 10 active. We just keep plugging away and hope to have one or two more become active. Hang in there.

I have had a busy week touring with friends here in CO. They left today and we go tomorrow. Good thing too as this AM I ended up with a major muscle spasm in my back and have laid low the entire day. Did fix dinner of french toast and eggs to get a little more protein in. Back is still very, very touchy with movement. And it's only on the left side so have been a little lopsided today. Hoping it settles down as we begin our trip to NE. for the wedding.

I had a lot of trouble posting my daily blog so lost my streak!! It was lots of pictures of Pikes Peak and 1 pic. was missing the little bracket so it wouldn't post anything!! Found it today and finally got it posted. Had gone to the tech site and Coach Jen tried to help. I think my PC is the cleanest around!! I continue to have to log in 10-15 times a session which is not my problem but SP can't find it on their end either. Computers!!!!!

Will try to chat again tomorrow! Hugs to you.

Well, guess I'm going to throw in the towel on this one. Just seems to be little interest. So, I will be stepping out of the leader role and the group will go defunct. Feel bad, but that's the way it goes sometimes...

Thanks Eileen. A bit of encouragement always helps. Bad day this morning even with taking the 8 hr. pain meds. If you didn't know what/why I was so slow in the morning and just watching on a movie or something I think it would actually be funny to watch as I very slowly manage to get out of bed and very very slowly begin to walk around the bed, then start to speed up a bit. LOL. I have a chiro app't this afternoon. Not sure if he'll do anything yet today unless they have an x-ray right there and he can look right away. I know I've never had one that would touch me until they had seen the x-rays. Unless we can get one from my other chiro in MN. But it's fairly old so doubt that will fly. So I imagine it will be coming out of our pocket to pay, but I sure need something.

Yes, Eileen, slow and steady always works. In the loosing weight, in overwhelming work or situations. The house is still needing much work, but it's coming along. Had to take dad to the bank yesterday and was able to get the shots for the dogs- I'll give them to them when DH is home to help me hold them. Years ago I had a vet teach me how so I give them the shots myself which saves alot of $'s. Been doing it for years now. 5 shots for $60 (with tax added) so the shots were just over $10 each. If the vet does it it always seems to be at least $25 each. So glad I can do it.

Well, I'm off to get something started for the day. Pip has had his meds, laundry is going. Now to get me going. Hahaha!

We had a good travel day. Drove through the west park of NE. but more to the south of the interstate. Didn't go through the sand hills. Did see a lot of rolling hills and cattle. Dad would always buy his feeder cattle from this area. My uncle was a cattle broker and dad got them through him. We saw cattle lots that had thousands of calves, young cattle that sure looked to be the feeder cattle. Taking our time as we are a few days too early for our CO. reservations. Tomorrow should get into CO. and find a place to sit for a couple days. Then on Sunday go into the campground we are to be in for a week. Did a quick stop at WalMart for a new hair dryer. Mine began smoking and smelling of fire while drying the dogs after a bath. Daisy didn't get dried and has a thin coat so get cold quickly. Have a new one and can wash my hair now too.

Carol, you are right to take one thing at a time. Focus on that and it won't get you down. And yes, progress will be seem and made. So sorry you are going through all this. Prayers for you and your dad!! The PET scan does scan for cancer and is very detailed. i hope and pray it's not but you have to prepare for the diagnosis. Do what you need to do. We will be here when you need us!!

Good morning gals. Hope you are feeling better Starr. Your anniversary sounds like you had a great time, Eileen. Sorry I had to send belated wishes, yesterday was a looooong, loooong day. Worked, got a call from Dad's Dr. about the CT scan, he has a mass in his right lung so now a PET scan whatever that is. I will be shocked if it's not cancer, so the road is looking a bit bumpy here. Bear with me if I am not such a good leader here for awhile. I'll do my best. Please say some prayers for me and my dad.

Have to call Dr. to remake app't now that I have the PET scan date, need to get dogs in for shots, I have GOT to find a chiro. Man, I am in so much pain, I can literally hardly get out of bed in the morning, I am not kidding. House is a pit right now, I am so behind. I'm nearly overwhelmed, but just made myself start in this morning on it, thinking "1 thing at a time". If I look at the big picture I can barely start, not knowing what to do. If I just do one little thing at a time, well, suddenly things have started to fall into place, be put away, calls made, etc. and it's not so much to look at. I just have to keep that in mind or I'll never make it!

Hope you have a good day ladies. Are you rolling down the road today Eileen?

We celebrated our 46th anniversary today and it was good. Had the kids around us at our son's new house and he put on a BBQ. I brought 3 loaves of banana bread that turned out DELIC!! The crew ate one loaf and wanted more. Sent half home with the other son with chocolate chips on. One GD loves banana bread with chips so it was kind of for her but she didn't know it, she shared!! Was then told by the other DIL to not touch the last loaf. It was theirs!! Okay, I have one in the camper that's rolling down the road with us! It really turned out good!!

Carol, one of the blogs I read introduced me to the Craftsy site but didn't get enough time today to look at it and haven't signed up. I have so many thing on the coals that I don't dare go off and look for more!!

I have spent nearly the whole day watching Craftsy classes!!! Getting some recipes for my pressure cooker, learning some painting tricks, a little about threads, making Italian soups. I'm pretty much "Craftsy-ed" out by now. LOL. But I learned alot. Called a good friend who is an artist and told her about the first one I watched (knew I should start with the most important to me one) which I was sure she would like. She LOVED it and is going to purchase it which is what they are hoping for ofcourse. I have lots of my own classes so don't want to be purchasing any more at this point until I've gone thru them all in much greater detail. I've done some but not all. I have some on photography that I haven't found the time to study yet. I do love Craftsy, so nice to learn things and have them "whenever" and for as long as I want to watch them.

We've been having lots of problems with armadillos, they are just digging the heck out of our gardens. Yikes. Also learned yesterday that the house below us that has been for sale for some time now has finally sold. That's good. Houses seem to be selling here- this is the 3rd one that sold in the last several months. DH met them briefly yesterday - they are near us in age, maybe just a little younger. Supposed to close in Oct.

Yes, I have been working on my Hardanger and really enjoying doing it. The lady who is doing the HAL (Hardanger-a-Long) is in Canada. Her name is Nina and she is so helpful and gets back to you generally within a day or 2 if you have a question. Very nice and helpful.

Well, time to get going and head off to bed (with my dinner) so I have a good night of rest for work tomorrow.

emoticon emoticon emoticon I hope you all have had a emoticon Labor day weekend. Mine has been quiet. Which is ok. To be honest, I am not feeling all that well today anyway. Not sure what is up with that.

Carol, you said a few days ago that you were going to try to sit down and do some of your hardanger. Have you been able to get to that yet? I hope you have.

Elieen, I know that you are looking forward to getting back on the road with your DH.

We had our eye appt. today and both of us have very little changes but we were both told that there is a hint of the beginnings of cataracts. Hate to hear that word but until I have difficulty seeing, not going to do anything about it. And that could be yrs. down the road. Otherwise both have healthy eyes.

Stopped at Culvers today for dinner as I hadn't gotten anything out and tired so Roger suggested eating out. That's not normal for us but sounded good. Had an original butter burger plain, fries and a drink. Tasted good for a change. Tomorrow will be good and then Monday for lunch we have been invited over to our son's new house for a BBQ. Taking our laundry with and will do while enjoying all the kids together. It's our anniversary too so double celebration.

I haven't heard of the Craftsy site. Not that I have time to do what I have pending over the past few yrs. I really enjoy counted cross stitch and have 3 or 4 undone and several kits to get into. Time is flying and I really should get some completed. Have done many many and given them away. Got into crocheting dish cloths and now pot holders and then there is adult coloring which I find relaxing. We have a group that gets together a couple times a week. So as you can see, I need to mete out my time much better than I do!!

Off and running tonight. Take care

I understand your frustration Eileen. I feel the same way, it just gets harder and harder to loose as you get older. I've learned that for some reason when you don't sleep well or enough it actually makes it even more difficult, so it may be because you are so tired from working. I know your body has some "survival" mechanisms that trigger it to keep the weight on and that must be one of them- when you're tired somehow it must slow the metabolism or something.

Starr, I'm going to send you an email for a "link" just in case you don't get anything on it, but Craftsy has a "watch anything all day for free" on Mon. I am hoping to take advantage! I plan to have a notebook so I can take notes. Have a couple of classes I would like to take, but don't want to buy - so just would like maybe a bit of info from them. :)

We aren't going anywhere, may go into the "huge" town of Blue Eye to the big yearly reunion today if we feel like it. Right now it doesn't appeal, I'm just feeling lazy. :) Plan to do a load of laundry, make a Greek cuke/tomato salad, and freeze some summer squash and make a "bread pudding" with replacing part of the bread with spaghetti squash. I've done it a few years ago with grated summer squash and the spaghetti squash should work I would think too. Wish I had written down what I did, so I'll be "guessing" again but it was really good, and I'm sure much better and less calories for us. I also will freeze some of that if I can find room! Made spaghetti yesterday, I love it over the squash so much better than pasta.

Have a wonderful weekend and stay safe- I think we all are staying home in this group and not running around or going anywhere for the holiday. Starr, hope you are doing ok.

Another day of work! This time it's for us. Had our dogs in for their shots on Weds. and as we sat waiting, the one I was holding showed some dandruff. Rubbed her fur and there were fleas in the fur!! They had left their marks with making her shed her skin. So they got flea treatment right there. We had bathed them a couple times with tick and flea shampoo a couple times but never found any. Yesterday I brushed the one with the very long hair and didn't see a thing. The Vet. did say the pill given would kill the adult fleas within 20-30 mins. and then the topical would get the rest. Sure did!! So today I moved all the furniture and vacuumed well. Then I shampooed after. The camper is small to be moving furniture but got it done. Busy day again.

Tomorrow is eye appt. day. Not getting the glasses here if they need to be changed as they are so much cheaper in Mexico. Will take the script there. Sunday dinner with the kids then Monday is our Anniversary. Tuesday we pull up stakes and start our trek south by going west!! Seems to have gone so fast!! Hoping the roads down to the RGV in TX are clear and traffic not too heavy but then, we won't be getting there until mid Oct. Several of our friends will be arriving before us and that's really unusual. We normally get there and clean houses and patios just before they get in. Will miss that on some of them.

The more I work then more I gain!! Again today it was another half pound!!! So frustrating!! It's now up 12# and i haven't changed my eating just added more activities and work!!

Hope you all have a good weekend and holiday! Safe travels if going places on Labor Day! School starts on Tues. here so figure the parents will be doing last minute things on Mon. and we will then be starting out on Tues.

I can't believe how fast this year is passing. All of a sudden it is September!!! My 2 DD's b-days are soon here- youngest on the 3rd (she'll be 40!) and oldest on the 10th. I don't have to worry about gifts as I took them up in June and gave them to them early. I got them pottery- a covered casserole for the youngest and a "wonder" pot for the oldest as she likes to do new and "interesting" things in cooking. It is one of the things you can put a can of some sort of liquid in the center and place a whole chicken over it upright with a ring around to place veggies, etc. and catch the liquids from the cooking. You can use it to make rolls, etc too. Figured they may as well start to use them and I certainly didn't want to mail them!

So, I've been half-heartedly trying to loose some weight, I can't say I've been truly committed with so much going on. Now that the cooler weather has started and the garden is nearly done I was thinking it was a good time to get a little more serious. So, if you guys would like to join me I would be thrilled. Not just weight loss but sort of a "lifestyle" thing. I will post a new post for it. Hope you will join me- more details on the post. Hope your week has gone well.

What a lovely house - I hope it is a blessed home Eileen. Thanks for the photos- fun to see. Hopefully the move all went well and you are maybe back to "normal". :)

Well, today is going to be a day of rest for me after a very hectic couple of weeks. It was nice to see Deb, but it was so rushed I felt bad, we didn't really get to relax much here. Did watch a couple of hours of movies with a glass of wine, and had fun running around Branson, but so much garden work, and cooking I just felt run off my feet. We had a fairly good day at work Tues., sold a reasonable amount - for us. We are a small store and very limited clientele so we don't sell "gangbusters". But I'm told it will really pick up toward the holidays. Then yesterday was taken up with dad's app'ts. Now we wait and see what the CT scan shows. Today I am planning to just sit and do some needlework after I clean up the kitchen and tidy the keeping room.
Well, gals, that's my morning news. Starr, how are you doing?
By the way, if there's anything you would like to have here, games, prayers, etc. just mention it. I can use some help thinking of "stuff"! I did post prayers for TX.

Good evening to you all. Starting with 2 pics of the kids and their new house.

The garage is full and not all is in there. Washer and dryer go tomorrow with the big moving truck Jason rented so did the last of my laundry today. I can run over there and finish laundry before we head out. Don't want to have to go to a commercial laundry for a long time!

The rain has stopped for now and the week should be nice for moving. Jason figures he can get most everything in the 26' moving truck he rented. Needed a big one for the frig.

You can buy moving straps now that you have loops over your arms and slide the straps under your item but they cost $50 a pair. He got a appliance dolly to help.

Not much else going here. Tired and ready for bed. So will chat later. Hugs to you'all.

Eileen, you be careful with all the moving & activities that your doing. Will be glad to hear about everything when you get back.

Carol, I know about the moving thing too. Since 1995, when me, Alan & the kids got out of the Army & moved back to Oklahoma-we have moved 6 times. UGH!! And people wonder why I really, really dislike moving. emoticon

I have a bible study with a friend today. I've been meeting weekly with her for about 2 months now. I always go to her church, which is on the other side of Tulsa from me. She does not like to drive out of her neighborhood. Even though I don't like driving outside of my small city, I try to accommodate her. But she's not even willing to meet me half way. I am thinking, within the next month or so, I am going to end the studying. Especially before winter sets in.

You know that I have been getting weekly allergy shots for the past 14 months. I had my follow up appointment with the allergist a couple weeks ago and told her that the main reason I was seeing her (almost constantly runny eyes) was because of my eyes, and that the allergy shots had not relieved them at all!! emoticon And that, in fact, I did not really see improvement with any of my allergy symptoms. She said: "oh. Well perhaps you have dry eye then. I which case you should go see an optometrist." I needed to have my eyes checked & get new glasses (knew that my eye sight had worsened in 3.5 years.) anyway. I did go get my eyes checked, and indeed, I do have "dry eye". Optometrist prescribed a RX for that. And the eye exam revealed that my eyesight had worsened over the past 3.5 years. emoticon But back to the allergist................I asked her about the other allergy symptoms. She said that she will put me on a higher dose of medication. Which is what has been done every 5 weeks thru out this past 14 months. I am ready to go to her supervisor. emoticon

Ok. I got to go. sorry so short. Time got away from me.

hugs,
starr

Eileen, I am sure this is going to be a very busy couple of days for you. We'll look forward to hearing how the move went! Hope it all goes smoothly. I know from personal experience how hard it is to move. My DH and I did it here all on our own, just the 2 of us! We were shocked that us 2 old foggies could even do it, but it started because we HAD to get the wood burning stove in, which was in the middle of the trailer so that it could be installed and they were coming to do it. So no choice. We tried to find someone to help us (asked around alot of folks- anyone willing that they would know of, we would pay them). Nope, no one was interested at all. Things aren't like they used to be and we had no family here so it was "us, us, or us" as our choices. LOL. Hardest thing was my dad's queen size mattress. That was awful.

Well, many little chores today, then work tomorrow. If I have any time or energy I will work a bit on my Hardanger. I got it started over the weekend. So excited to finally be doing some, have been wanting to do it for a year or so. Sure wish I could find those books. :(

Carol, it sounds as though we are quite similar with our bodies!! And the sore butt! We have a foam mattress in the camper which we absolutely love. It's 4 different kinds of foam and good support but we both sleep well on it. They kids wanted us to come into the house to sleep and we said no. We would have to drag so many things in so the camper and great mattress was our choice.

Got word our great niece is safe in her dorm room on 3rd floor and her car is on 4th floor. She won't be going any places any time soon! Her parents are in MN. and went to the State Fair yesterday with their other DD who goes to school and the University (they are twins) They can't get back to their home which is as of today, flooded. I do have other relatives that used to be in the area and don't know where they are. Not in contact with them.

Had sunshine and clouds today. We were sitting here reading the paper and a sudden downpour came out of no where!! Lasted about 5 mins and was done but it's more rain. Now it's good for Jason's new sod. He won't have to water as much. Looks like Tues. is going to be a good day and we are moving him in beginning with the big stuff! Will be sore then!!

Gotta get going. Again, it's getting late. Will hope to chat tomorrow but lots to get done.

Oh, Starr, I am so glad you will get to see your son and GS's. I know you are thrilled about that.

Yes, Deb called me when she got home. She made it safe and sound in just about 12 hrs., much better than her coming down time! LOL. Still a bit longer than it should have been since she again missed a road, but she did better by far. So she'll "get it" eventually. LOL. She has today off yet, and then back to work tomorrow. So she can rest up a bit which is good.

Eileen, is it a family group or just friends that you meet in CO? I had to laugh when you said 1am bedtime. That sounds like me, altho I have been trying to stop doing that and trying to get it more at 11-11:30pm at the latest. I've been doing better. I just sleep awful- or should I say I don't sleep well? LOL. Meaning- I am good at not sleeping. Hahaha! Now I am needing a chiropractor so badly- I just literally can barely move in the mornings and man, I ache all day long badly. I mean, my butt cheeks hurt to sit on! Everything hurst. It's my back and neck, but they affect everything. I stopped to try to make an app't. last Mon. at one, but he's semi-retired and only works 2.5 days a week, one of which is the day I am working. So that was a no-go. When Deb and I were out I saw one so may try to go and see about that one, but would rather go to one in Kimberly City as that is where my bank is and it's closer so I could do the bank and chiro at the same time. I only need the chiro about once a year, altho now that it's so bad it will take longer.
Eileen, I have a 12 yr. old GD too. My other 2 are 19 and 21- GD and GS. GS is in the army nat'l guard. I have my mom's washer and dryer in my laundry right now, they got moved at the point we could put them in here, and mine are up in the pole barn. Well, mine are so much larger and nicer, and I would like them put in, but it's one of those priority things. Mom's can barely wash the blankets, and the large quilts I know really shouldn't go in there. Mine also does mini loads which, tho I don't do that often now and then with delicates that I like to wash separately it's really nice. Ah, such large problems. Hahaha!
Well, hope you guys have a good Sun. I am sure looking forward to seeing your painting of Magic Starr. Deb was happy with her coloring page. She didn't get it finished but she got quite a ways. I found my metalic pencils for her for the flute and she really liked that.
Have a good day ladies.

Starr, we are still in MN. and will be helping our son to move on Tues. That is also the birthday of our middle GD. She will be 11 so that gives us a 10, 11 and 12 yr. GDs. Mon. I want to do the little amount of wash we have accumulated as the washer and dryer will go no Tues. They bought their new ones and didn't like mine that are falling apart, so hooked theirs up and I have been using them. Not sure if we will hook our old ones up or wait until we get home next summer and buy some new ones. Really do need them both.

Our anniversary is the 4th and we are leaving here on the 5th for CO. and a campout. Going to Colorado Springs in the area of the Garden of the Gods. Small group this yr. We then head out to south of Omaha to a town called Weeping Water. Our nephew is getting married and will be having a western themed wedding. We are not to dress fancy, more cowboy style. Then we are camping right where the reception is to be at the county fairgrounds. Great sites and lots of room. Not real expensive either.

I broke off a tooth again last night and need to find a dentist here as mine has retired. That will be this coming week too. I have lost the majority of my molars and am working with a dentist in MX. to get implants going. To do all the molars there is about $1800 whereas up here i had one done several yrs. ago for $6000!. Mom lives in TX in the same park we are in and she chose to have an implant on the US side for about $9000. So I am being patient and taking time to spend much less money.

Starr, you asked about if I was in Harvey's path and no we aren't. We are at the very tip of TX. right by McAllen. Harvey came in about 4 hr.s north of us. I hear they didn't get a drop of rain yet. Hoping to as the TS turns and goes back out to the gulf!

Carol, glad your DD could use the roaster! I love doing my roasts in the crockpot or slowcookers. I have sever different sizes and kinds. The best is the rectangle metal pan that is removable from the heating plate. We could do 2 hot sandwiches on the plate too but don't. I use my big ceramic oval one for homemade soups and stocks. I don't have a roaster but have used the churches when doing big meals for there.

Haven't done my sparking yet, just been writing to everyone since 7 PM so need to get on the stick and begin so I can get to bed by 1 AM, my usual!! Hope you all have a good night and super Sunday!

Eileen

Hi there ladies--

Carol, I am sorry that you did not get to say good bye to Deb. I hope that she makes it home without any problems.

Like you all, I also like cooked cabbage. Yum.

I don't blame you for taking a few days to rest up Carol. I hope you enjoy your HAL. If your like me, you'll find your books after you don't need them. Or, like you said, if you re-buy them, you will find the others!!!

Eileen, it is neat that you & Carol lived not far from one another in Minnesota. Too bad that the two of you couldn't have meant one another before she moved out of that state.

I can't remember what you had said as far as your location. Are you guys in Texas right now where they are having the hurricane? I hope that your not. But if so, please, please be safe and take care of yourselves.

Yes Carol, I am still working on the painting of my Chi Magic. She turned 11 the week before last. I think it has been about 3 months now that I have been working on it. At my art group on Wednesday, everyone just kind of did what they felt like doing in the line of art. Some painting (watercolor, acrylic) some chalk pastel, adult coloring, drawing, a few people crochet--I know there were more things being done, but my brain has gone on temporary vacation. Sorry. emoticon I took all of my painting stuff (acrylic) & Magic and working on that. Next week we will have our monthly birthday luncheon to celebrate everyone in our group who had a birthday in August. It is always pot-luck. I am trying to figure out what to bring.....but so far I am coming up with a blank. The quick & easy is what I like, and I try to stay away from sweets, as a lot of ladies tend of bring sweets. It's not a very a very balanced meal when it is mostly sweets. emoticon

I found out yesterday that my son & 3 grandsons are coming down from Virginia for my eldest DD wedding in October. We are all excited about that, as we have not seen the 4 of them in about a year now.

Ok guys, that is it for me for now. I'm ready to go get into bed, read some and sleep.

Hugs,
Starr

MAKE 2020 THE BEST YOU CAN.

Starr - missing hearing from you. How did your painting session go? How is your painting of your doggy going? I know you've been working on that awhile. I hope you post a photo of it. Your lunch with Savvy sounded very good.

Eileen, yes, it was Jonathan, I had thought that was it but didn't want to say wrong and then you might not know either. LOL. So, you live near that area? It's nice out that way. Have never heard of Brandondale. It's nice that your son will finally get to move. Big week ahead of you guys I'm sure. Good luck.

Well, my roaster pan I had to laugh. They are almost identical in size. So I called my youngest DD as I knew she had wanted one some time back and no, she had never gotten one. So Deb took mine back and they will get together so DD can pick it up. Gives them an excuse to see each other. We always called Deb "Auntie Deb", she was like a sister pretty much. So my kids know her well. So it all worked out ok, and we're all happy. LOL. I did use the new one, had it totally filled and no room for the summer squash!. I cook "big" Eileen, and then I don't cook for a couple days, or freeze it for busy days, etc. Have always done that. Works for us. So I use large pots, slow cookers, etc. I like my roasts and corned beef best out of a low, slow oven, they always get more tender for me than in a crockpot. Weird as that is low and slow too, but it just never comes out as tender for some reason. But we have lots of nice veggies now and I saved some of the cooking water too so I can make more cabbage as there wasn't enough of that to please us, and my dad likes that, one of the few veggies he actually likes. DH has decided he has to go for a load and leave today so I will be on my own after several busy days with people. Feast or famine as they say. Deb left really early this morning. Not sure what time. She said she was going to leave about 7am, but when DH got up at 6:15 she was gone already. So it felt funny not getting to say goodbye, but it is such a long drive I understand why she left. If I had known I would have gotten up.

I am so tired from so much garden stuff, and being so busy I plan to do "not much of anything" for the next couple of days. I do have to freeze some summer squash, and do some dishes but otherwise the only thing I want to do is start a Hardanger piece. I've been wanting to do that for awhile now, have the stuff to start but couldn't just remember "how" to start! Have only done a very small amount and that was years ago. Found an online lady in Canada that has a "HAL" (Hardanger-A-Long) using a free pattern from Nordic Needle which is very pretty so I'll do that to get going again. Have my fabric cut, zig-zagged, and the grid stitched in and ready to start. :) I had a number of books I'd purchased from Nordic Needle over the years, they have a contest each year and the books are the winning piece designs. Well, I have not been able to find them since the move. So I am not happy about that. They MUST be here somewhere in a box that somehow has managed to hide itself. They are just gorgeous designs. And out of print now, well, you can purchase them and print them out or they are printed out already, don't know, but they are not the books, so you pay like it's a book but it's just cheaply printed. :( And I don't want to re-buy books that I already have. Ofcourse if I do, then I will find them. LOL.

Well, I guess I've rambled on and on here haven't I?

Carol, I guess you were lucky with not putting the mower in the barn!!! Sometimes there is a reason for something to happen and that seems to be one of them!

Hartland is in a small industrial area up past Johnathon, which is the town you were thinking of. It didn't take off and take over Chaska so they are just an "area" with the Jonathon name. So you probably know just about where we live. We were in Brandondale from 72 to 79 when we built this house. Haven't moved since. Can't afford to:-)

Getting rain right now which is good as DS sod got laid yesterday and he can now close on the property on Mon. and we begin the move from our house to his new one.

We haven't heard anything about the house in TX but besides power outages I don't think we will have too much winds and rains. It looks to be about 2-4". Glad to not be in the eye of Harvey. The winds are now 130 sustained and possible 35" rain over Corpus Christi and into San Antonio which we travel through when heading down to our home in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) It's only about 2 and a half months or less we will be heading down.

You sound like the shopping trip was very successful. I hope you weren't disappointed with the roaster. I use various crockpots versus roasters. We just don't eat that much now and we don't have a garden to do food prep with.

Getting late and I haven't tracked yet so will close for tonight and hope it's not too noisy tonight as our one little dog is very frightened of storms and keeps us up. We did have one crack of lightening/thunder that shot us out of our chairs and she is sitting by me fairly calm right now so who knows what the night will bring. I see lots of stuff out west heading this way. And of course living in the camper, the sounds are magnified.

Good morning ladies. Well, goodness Eileen, what a small world. When I was still living in Jordan I worked for a couple of years up in Chaska! Out just past where that "town" that that guy tried to start was, can't think of it's name any longer, it flopped but there are lots of houses out there. I worked in an area that was all big buildings, I don't know if it was called an industrial park, but it was like that. There is a catalog company that is still there called Heartland, it was just down from where I worked. I recently started getting the catalog, thought I was going to order something, didn't end up (long story) but talked to a lady there for awhile and they are still in the same place. :)

We had a good time yesterday, did a lot of shopping/walking. My friend Deb bought herself some pottery where I work. She said she's always wanted a pottery casserole, and doesn't own any casserole!!! So she was tickled. She also got a lovely small vase, and later she found a mantle scarf which she plans to put on her tv stand which is fairly long- she is filling in the area where the tv was, which is empty as her new tv sits on top. So the vase is to help cover the cords that go down the back behind there and the scarf will help too. It is a beautiful cut work scarf. I had no intention of getting anything but we were in a kitchen store and they had little small casseroles that are just perfect for warming up dad's dinners for $5 so I got those, then at a place called Tues. Morning I happened upon a large roasting pan which I hoped was the right size - I had literally just been telling my DH I needed one between the Dutch ovens I have and my turkey roaster which is too big. When I make roasts, corned beef, etc. we love loads of veggies and I never have quite a large enough pan. This one has a big domed lid like a turkey roaster, but I don't think is quite as large as my old blue speckled enamel one. Won't I be surprised if it's the same size (and not happy, LOL) Anyway, I will find out later today, I will compare them. May use it today too. Having corned beef, with cabbage, potatoes, onions, carrots, sweet taters, and going to try putting in some summer squash just to see how that works. We have lots right now. Hahaha! Went to dinner last night at Red Lobster. Yum. I have to go out and pick beans soon, then clean them and some toms. This afternoon we will go down to the studio and "play". She is coloring a page in an adult coloring book for a contest at her store- it is a music store and the book is one they carry all musical instruments with fancy designs. She is color blind so has a hard time so she wants some help.
We were VERY lucky yesterday. DH mowed the lawn, then for some reason he didn't put the mower (riding) into the barn. He parked, started to walk away and smelled something. Turned and there it was on fire! If it had been in the barn it could have started the barn up and we could have lost everything in it! Tractor, 5th wheel, saws, tools, etc. Oh, my gosh, we were sooooo lucky. But now we have no mower and he's not sure it will be worth fixing and we really can't afford a new one.... Gads. But thank the Lord for a very large blessing. I'll take this problem over what we could have had!
Have a great day ladies. Starr, what are you up to?

Well Carol, it is too bad we have wasted all these yrs and not know each other! I live in Chaska and have been here since 1972. We are just up the hill on 41 and down on crosstown hwy by the Lions Park BB field. We have been to East Union and West Union at various times. We go through Jordan when we go out camping. It's too hard to head north out of the TC in the summer to go camping. I grew up in NW IA. and used to go through Jordan at least monthly. It is a small world!

Looking at the weather and watching the hurricane info. We have a home in the area, McAllen, TX. Our county is under a watch whereas just north of us it's warnings and evacuations. Our park is just on the west side of 281 and on the east side they have to have hurricane insurance and tie downs. We don't and I think we are about 300 yds. away from 281. Mom is there too and she didn't think much of it last night when I talked with her. I don't think she was paying attention to the weather.

Our son got his sod down today so they can close on Mon. and move on Tues. Can't get the truck until 10 AM so won't have to get up too early. (LOL)

Eileen, where "exactly" do you live? I grew up in Burnsville- graduated there, and then 7 yrs. in Richfield, then moved and about 20 yrs. out in the country near Jordan. Kids went to school there and still live there (one across the river closer to East Union if you know where that is). Gosh, here we may have been able to meet way back when! Do you know when you will be leaving? I did a bird and animal atlas for the Mdewankaton Sioux tribe (100 drawings). It's online somewhere on their website but I can't find it. LOL. I worked with a biologist there, (not Indian) who was very nice. As far as I know he's still there. He was just a couple of years ago.

We're off to Branson today. Think we'll be seeing a show. She wants to see where I work so we'll stop in there. She got some Moonshine jam last time she was here and says she loved it so wants to get some more. Hopefully they still carry it, I'm not sure as I don't work in that part of the store. But it's full of gorgeous stuff. :)

Well, time to get cleaned up and ready for the day. Hope you have a good one. When do you leave Eileen. Do you have an actual start date? Starr, hope you have a more restful day today.

Carol, I am glad your friend got there. We live on the SW corned of the TC and I think we are about 15-18 miles from I-35 so depending on traffic and CONSTRUCTION, it can take us a while to start rolling. (drinking that cal. ladened coffee for a snack now:-))

Starr, it sounds like you had a really nice day, busy though. Our eldest son is the one that is beginning to cook for mom and dad or take us out while the other son and DD are too busy. Have hardly seen them this summer. 2nd DS brought his daughter over again today so mom could rest. Our GD again had a wonderful time with the other girls. Good for her to get out among others as her summer has been only reading.

Had my mammogram today at the health care system I worked for. Found out some gossip from the gal doing the screening. The manager of the imaging center retried this week and I had worked with her for years!

Decided this evening that we wanted the chicken wild rice soup that is at the casino and stayed for a little play time. TX. has no casinos and we enjoy going about 6 times a yr. So got our last one in before our travels and they have the very best soup ever!! Then off to get groceries. Home in the dark or deep twilight time. So am late in posting tonight again.

Enjoy your Thurs. both of you!!

Yes, she made it. Eileen, we used to live in Forest Lake which is 45 min. north of her and we could make the drive in 12 hrs. She got a 45 min. later start and then missed a turn which ended up costing her nearly 1.5 hrs! But she made it safe and sound. :) So glad your DIL is doing so well. Good news is always nice.
Making spaghetti to put over spaghetti squash for dinner tonight. DH made it home so he will be joining. Tomorrow we will head into Branson for a fun day.
Have a good night all.
Eileen, I think we should make 3 cal. coffee our team beverage. Hahaha!

Good morning ladies,

Carol, did your friend make it to your house ok?

Eileen, I am glad that your DIL is doing well after surgery. And that grandpa took the kids to the park so that you could get laundry done.

I had a pretty busy day yesterday. Saw allergist in the morning, and then had eyes checked at the optometrist office. I've not had them checked in 4 years, so knew that I would need a stronger RX. My eyes have become much weaker in the past couple of years, making it hard to read both close up and at a distance. And it is difficult for me to see in the dark, so I don't drive at night now, unless I have to.

Eldest DD asked me to go by the pharmacy to pick up her medication, that she had forgotten to get when she was in town earlier. So I did that as I was going out to her place to have lunch with her anyway. She & I had a pork chop, sliced cucumbers, backed sweet potato & ice water. It was a yummy meal. When I got back into town, I got some money from the bank, filled up my car with gas & got some Excedrin Migraine medication from Dollar General. Got home and did two loads of laundry, paid a few bills, washed dished from dinner & breakfast and did some painting.

Today I am going to my art group with ladies around my age and older. There is a lady there that had her 95th birthday last week. The only main disability she has is that she is almost deaf. Even her hearing aids do not help, she says. But I am amazed at what she can do at her age.

Ok, I am off. You all have a great day.

Starr

Carol, I guess I am a little lost with your note. Your friend is from A.V and coming from Forest Lake? A definite 45 mins and add another 45 mins with all the interstate road closures around here. It really is very difficult to figure out how to get to where you are going!!! So that could have been part of her problem. Glad to see she is probably there. Enjoy your time together and Branson. We are thinking harder and harder about spending some time there before heading to the RGV for the winter. I can almost picture your place in the hills as you described it.

Our DIL that had surgery yesterday is doing well. Was discharged from the hospital about 11 AM and home. Their daughter was over here in the house with her 2 cousins and they had a grand time!! Grandpa took them to the park and they played there for an hour while I did laundry in the house. Like the machines the kids got but they will be taking them to their new house next week and my old ones will go back in that need replacing. Or they can continue to sit in the hot tub room until we return next spring. Looks like the sod can be laid tomorrow and then they can close next week. Rain predicted Thurs. through Sun. here. YUCK, more rain!!

I am drinking my 3 cal coffee this evening giving me 2 12oz servings!! LOL!! Black Columbia is the best in our eyes.

LOL, Eileen, I consider 3 calories nothing. It's the cream and sugar that would get you. ;) I drink mine black.

Yes, she is from Apple Valley. She's not here yet. Not sure if she started later or just drove slow. She said she was going to start at 6am, well it's after 7:30pm now and she's not here yet. (At most it should be a 12 hr. drive, and that was from Forest Lake, which is 45 min. north of A. V.) Starr, she had a harder time finding us by far than you did! She gets panic stricken and that ofcourse makes it worse. So she gets so shook up she can't think and does silly things- like the last time she pulled into the house below us- why I have no idea, it is empty and for sale- anyway, she knew it wasn't us. Well, she got to the gate that you went thru up on the ridge which was locked when she came (usually is) so drove right past our house as you did. But then she called so very upset (now Eileen, this is less than a 1/4 mile from our house which is visible, at least the pole barn is from where she was and I had told her "we are the only house on the ridge, so if you see a pole barn and a house, that's us). She kept telling me she was at a gate and something about a sign "beware of dog". I could not for the life of me think where that would be. Turned out the sign was a tiny one on the house below us but in her panic she's saying it like it's on the gate! Why she thought I would know anything about that sign I have no idea! You were calm when you "got lost" just past the gate. She was not calm at all and really upset. So I worry until I know she's here, and it's getting dark now so it will make it harder for her. She doesn't have GPS. :( She has lived in such a little world, that she's terrified I think out in the big wide world - but she's missed so much in her life, never goes anywhere except to fly down to see her folks who are in really bad shape so she mostly nurses them at this point for the week. I feel so sad for her. So, we will go into Branson and do some fun things hopefully she'll have a good time. Opps, she just called and is almost here. :) Now to get her here.

We only had an 83% eclipse today but more rain came in and the clouds covered the sun well. We were driving to the hospital to sit with our son while his wife had surgery. Got there and they sent us right to the pre- op area to wait as they surgery was backed up 2+ hrs. Took her in about 10 mins after we got there. Sat for 4 hrs. before any word and all good except a minor problem found in addition to her procedure. Our son came by to pick up his daughter at 10 PM and out son living here got back from their eclipse weekend at 11 PM. so all tucked in and safe and sound.

Carol, I was actually surprised when I began putting coffee into my tracker and it does have calories, minimal but it's 3 per 12 ounces. That's brewed grounds. Enjoy your time with your friend. Does she live in the Twin Cities area?

Next total eclipse is in 2024 and going through at a totally different angle. Catching TX this time. I still think I prefer to watch it on TV.

Well, Starr, we'll just play it by ear. Maybe it will work out, maybe not. We'll cross our fingers.

I just have to ask Starr- what is "diet" green tea? I don't think tea has calories, like coffee has none. If it's a sweetened drink, I will implore you not to drink it. Those diet things are really not at all good for you. You are drinking chemicals. How can that be better for you than a natural thing? And has it really lost you any weight? They have now learned that butter is so much better for you than margarine. I can't remember all I have read about that but butter actually does help things in your body work, helps it absorb things, etc. I just do not touch all that "fake" stuff. I have yet to meet anyone it has actually helped to loose weight. In fact I've read articles that say it is actually harmful to loosing! I don't drink enough water either, but I try too! LOL.

Friend arrives from MN tomorrow night. I have to leave for work extra early tomorrow as they are doing road work and DH said it took at least an extra 15 min. to get into town. Ouch. :(
I'm off to bed. Have a good week gals, I'll pop in whenever I get a min. :)

Good morning.

Carol, I don't know if I can work out care for Tammy. I would have to have a firm date & time period. Even with a firm date & time, my eldest DD has backed out on me. So I can't say for sure. emoticon

You have been busy as a bee. I hope that will slow down a bit for you soon. And, I hope that you'll be able to find a trustworthy chiropractor. They are hard to come by, I have found.

Eileen, I hope that your DD's surgery went well.

Our news says that we (in Oklahoma) have a 80% chance of seeing the eclipse. IF there are no clouds or rain. To be honest, I don't really care about seeing it. I saw the one in the 70's and did not think it was that big of a deal. For the past week the news has been announcing that veterinarian's are warning people to not let their pets outside between 11:30 AM & 2:30 PM today, as the eclipse can hurt their eyes just like it can humans. So I have 3 of my cats (who are inside/outside cats) in the house till this afternoon. And one of them is NOT happy. She continually meow's-loudly-in protest!!! emoticon

Ok you all, I better get off of here. Have some things that I need to do.

Our DD didn't come for dinner. She and her brother, SIL and niece were all at the Twins ball game and DD was just too tired to est. So told them to let us know she wouldn't be here. Had a wonderful pot roast, lettuce salad and apple cake. just enough roast left for a roast beef sandwich. DD sure did miss a good meal!

Our son is going to drop his daughter off here tomorrow as they head for the hospital. She isn't too happy about that as she would just like to stay home. We haven't had much of a change to see them this summer so I don't think GD knows us well. She is really into her books. But we are heading to the hospital after our DD goes into surgery and will be sitting with our son. We are going to try to time it so there is about an hr. of wait time for our GD.

Our son living here will be back tomorrow night. We are watching their cat and dog. Hope they can see the eclipse in KS. We are to see about 83% IF the clouds allow and IF the rain doesn't come in then. It will be tight but then we will be at the hospital anyway.

Hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow. Sweet dreams.

Goodness Eileen, you will be busy too! Hope things go well with the surgery and for your son's move. You just never get rain when you need rain do you?! LOL.

I am soooo stiff this morning I can barely move, am waitning for some pain killers (just acetominaphen and aspirin) to kick in. I really, really need to find a chiropractor here. I only need to go once or 2ce a year but it's been over that by more than 3 months now. I went to my old one last year when we went up to MN for GD's graduation. I loved him, hoping I can find a good one here, I've had some really bad ones and a couple good ones. You just don't know until you go a time or 2. I'm so bad at this point it will take at least a couple times to get it worked out. emoticon

Well, the ladies will be here in less than 3 hrs. I made a big venison roast with tons of veggies yesterday and will convert the rest to stew, the pot is still full, full so will have plenty for today and tomorrow possibly. That will be good with such a busy day tomorrow. Planning on spaghetti on Tues when my friend arrives after I get home from work. We have a ton of spaghetti squash growing (volunteers) so plan to use one or 2 of them, assuming we can find ones that are ready. Have never grown it so have no idea when to pick them! They are much yellower as they mature than the ones in the store. We've cut a couple and they weren't quite ready but weren't as yellow. (Had a vine growing in the compost pile which DH had to kill when he re-distributed the dirt from that so tried a couple that were going to rot anyway if we didn't do something). I love spaghetti over that squash, much better than just over pasta. So hope they are ready. We'll have plenty. LOL. Our road runner likes to sit up on the 6 ft. fence we have around the garden and watch for bugs I think. He likes high places. Has been known to sit up on the roof of DH's truck. LOL
Have a great Sunday ladies. Hope it is a good week for all of us.

Plans have changed for Jason and family. The company refused to extend the loan forputting the sod in. Didn't make any difference if they had mud and the landscapers can't get into the yard. So they have to refinance and the closing goes back another week. We are to get more rain on Sun. night into Mon. so only time will tell when they can move. We may not be able to stay here and help.

Roger decided to put the new awning in so called our son, Aaron to help us. Really need 4 people but we did it with 3. He took one cotter pin out that holds the spring from releasing the roller but the other one broke before getting it out. Not sure what to do. Worked about an hr. on that and even went to YouTube which he had already done so will think tomorrow of something different.

Tomorrow we are having Arron and family and our daughter out for a roast beef dinner. Jason and family are in KS now to watch the eclipse. The others we haven't seen a lot of since getting home. Aaron's wife is having surgery on Mon. and we will have our GD with us for a while. Will be going up to sit with Aaron while she is in surgery. Our GD will go with us then. Praying that all goes well for her!!

Carol, you have a busy week ahead. Enjoy and don't work too hard!!

Starr, do you think you could arrange something for Tammy so you could have a visit? Wouldn't that be fun- and then I could give you your Christmas present. LOL.

Just picked the beans and toms. Going to be a really busy week starting tomorrow. I have 2 ladies coming to finish up working on a scratchboard class I was teaching. Then have to go grocery shopping before the week itself starts. Mon. morning I want to attend an art guild meeting which I've been wanting to do for several months now and never could. Will stop at my bank beforehand- right across the road. Have to watch the time tho as I have piano lessons starting at 3:15pm now that school has started, and it's a 30+ min. drive so need to figure to be home by 3pm. Must leave by 2:15 at the very latest. Then work on Tues. Tues. night my friend from MN will be here until Sat. Whew. So I may not make it on here too much this week. Forgive me. :) But I'm so glad to have you ladies back to talk with. What a nice part of my day.

Carol, we enjoy the Branson area every couple of yrs. and we have talked about heading there before going on down to our winter home in TX. Too hot right now and even in Sept. to be down in the RGV so will be traveling some. That would be fun to meet up. I have a SP friend in Nixa and a former co-worker also in Nixa and hope to stop and visit them too. We will be camping as we travel so will think of a place easy for the 3 of us to meet and greet. Will keep you all informed when we have some concrete plans, that will be in Sept.

Our son was going to be moving out of our house on Weds. but due to our copious amount of rain, 6 days out of 9 and heavy, he can't close so they can move. So our plans will be tight with timing.

Well, Hello again Eileen!!! So glad to have you join us. Hi, Starr. I am hopeful that maybe we can get this group a-goin' again! I know it's work and will take time but if we can get even 5-6 of us to really participate that would be wonderful. Back when I first joined this was such an active group until the gal who started it got ill, after a few months a total stranger just showed up and took the leader over which our group had left for the original to take back when she recovered. Well, that just killed the group, and it died for awhile, after that leader left I took it on (I had talked with the original gal, she was so disheartened when she lost it, and still was suffering from whatever weird thing that had attacked her, she never came back.) emoticon I wish I still had her phone #- I might get her back if I had it.
It is soooo good to have you back Eileen. Starr and I have kept in contact for years now, and she and I were lucky enough to meet once part way between our home here and hers in OK. and then last summer (was it really just last summer Starr? Seems like 2 yrs.!) she came for a visit for a few days. We had fun just being silly and doing just for us fun stuff. I have moved from MN now to Ark. - just 29 miles from Branson, MO so if you travel there be sure and let us know. Maybe we can get together. Wouldn't it be fun if we all could meet? Starr could come here and stay (too far to just drive for a short visit) and we could all get together and have a wonderful "Sparked Chat"!
I'm in the process of cooking up lots of summer squash today, and will be teaching a piano lesson on Skype shortly to my youngest granddaughter. For some reason SP didn't send a notice that there were responses here! So I am late, I apologize, but it has been so hectic here with the garden, etc. I froze another qt. of gr. beans yesterday. With the cooler weather and rain my garden has gotten "young" again and has started producing again! I'm sort of happy/sad as I love the fresh stuff but am getting worn down with so much work all the time.
Well, looking forward to keeping in touch and catching up again. Love and hugs from Ark.
Carol

Starr, good to have you back. Missed our chats and would think about them. We are home at this time, living in our camper until the kids move out. Actually we will continue living in it as we leave here in about 3 weeks and not worth taking everything in the house and back out. Heading to CO. for a 9.10 campout then NE. or a family wedding on 9/30. Then roaming like we did this spring.

Good to see this team start again!! I had dropped off, keeping the team but not active. I will work at chatting. Carol, I lead a team of 152,000 members of which about 20 are active. We still work hard at keeping those folks going!! It takes time to build a team esp. what was going here.

About me, MY hubby and I are travelers and took the spring to go from our TX. home in the Rio Grande Valley up to Big Bend National Park where it was over 100 all the time. We then went to Carlsbad and ended up in a big hail storm!! Over $5000.00 damage to the truck and camper but we pushed on. Over to the Gulf coast to FL and up the east coast to NC where we had to leave our journey to return to MN for my hubby's 50th class reunion. Since then we have been on our camper pad by our house one of our son and family are building a house and had sold theirs. We are gone all winter so it was a blessing to have someone there. They are starting the move out and will be in their home sometime next week. We won't be moving into the house as we will be on the road a couple weeks after that heading for Colorado Springs for a week and then to NE for a nephew's wedding on 9/30. After that we don't know where we are heading as it's still too hot to go on down to the RGV (McAllen, TX) May go to Branson or the Hill Country in TX but don't know.

About me. I am a retired RN that worked as an ER nurse and a Hospital Administration Supervisor. I retired after 40 yrs in the business and have really enjoyed life. My hubby retired a few yrs. later and it was then we began big time travels. We have 3 kids, 2 sons, 1 daughter and 3 granddaughters ages 10, 11, 12. The 12 yr old is a gymnast working towards the 2024 Olympics. The 11 yr. old is strong into Karate and the 10 yr. old is dance and theater. So they keep parents busy and g/parents when around.

I love reading, camping, crocheting, coloring, and counted cross stitch of which I haven't done much of anything this summer! I had lost #111 and seem to be gaining some back so need to kick myself in the butt. But traveling 7,000 miles this spring and summer isn't conducive to weight loss. Looking forward to the pools and exercise rooms when we get back to our winter home. I direct the Christmas Choir in the RGV and my hubby and I chair the Sunday evening Ice Cream Social. A little bit of work but fun!!!

All I can think of right now and have to get going on my Sparking!! I will try to be much more active here! Good to hear from you Star and Carol!!
Oh yes, we have 2 rescue Chi's one from a puppy mill and we don't really know her age. The other from a private home where they had not socialized her nor ever had her outdoors. She is a super camper!! Both are and they love traveling as much as we do!!

Good morning Carol. As you did, I will just start with info about me.

My name is Starr, Teeny was a Rat terrier that I had a few years ago. I rescued her as a puppy and she passed away right after her 6th birthday. A very short life for a Rat terrier. When my DH & I got Teeny we had a Chi who we'd had since he was 6 weeks old. He was 13 years old and passed away not long after we got Teeny. Now I have two Chi's. One of them is black with a lot of gray from being up in years (As a puppy & in her younger years, Magic was as black as a piece of coal. She is 11 years old and her name is Magic, and Hank is brown & apricot. He will be 4 in October. Even though there is a 7 year difference in my Chi's ages, they love to play together. When I go to bed, both of them spend at least 5 minutes rolling around on the bed wrestling & play fighting. But Magic does prefer a lot more resting then Hank does. LOL! Which ever one of them passes first, the other is really going to miss their friend. And I have 4 cats. Tulsa, Mischief, Gizmo & Shell.

I love all animals. But aside from dogs & cats, I am especially fond of owls. I actually collect owl items. I have ceramic owls, pictures of owls, key rings, a plate, a cup, a bath towel, shower curtain, bath mat, hand soap dispenser, toilet seat cover, yard stakes, necklace, wind chimes--just to name a few.

Three & a half years ago my DH passed away-he had ALS. (Lou Gehrig's disease). ALS is an awful, horrible, terrible, tragic disease. My Alan was an Army veteran.

I very recently started learning how to paint with acrylic paint. Right now I am trying to finish a painting of my Chi, Magic. I also like to crochet, but have not done much of that recently. And I like to color in adult coloring books as well.

I live in Oklahoma, have three adult children & 4 grand children. My youngest (27 year old) is mentally challenged and lives with me. My middle child (33 year old) is getting ready to get married the latter part of October.

I have lived overseas-in Germany. When my DH was stationed there with the Army. We were there when the Berlin Wall came down, in 1989.

Ok, I can't think of anything else, at the moment, that anyone would care to know about me. So I will post this. I hope we will get lots of folks to join us on this team.

MAKE 2020 THE BEST YOU CAN.

REMEMBER, JESUS LOVES YOU--ALL THE TIME!!

OK, gang, we're going to see if we can get this group up and running again now that the folks that kind of hi jacked it are gone. Please join in here so we can get to know one another. I am one of the original group that started this way back when. I can't really find any of them still here on SP so I guess that makes me an "old dog alone". LOL.
I am taking on the group as team leader as long as we can get a good group going. I won't stick here if I only get one or 2 to participate. Being a leader is a big time commitment and a challenge so it needs to be worthwhile for me to do this. Please, please join in. We can be a fun, supportive group with the same love for our little fur babies. This was a wonderful group in the past, I'm hoping it will be again.

To start us out here's a little bit about me. My name is Carol, Sammie was literally my guardian angel. He only lived to be 8 yrs. old. At that point I didn't need an angel and I guess someone else did. emoticon I still miss him immensely but I was blessed to have him. I now own 4 chi's and one Valley Bulldog. They are the lights of my life.
I work 1 day a week at a wood carving shop, I teach piano lessons, I live in Ark., just below the MO border, and I work in MO (Branson). I garden, both veggie and flower and my flower gardens are for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds and my goodness I was blessed this summer with many "outside pets". I feed the birds in winter (hummers in summer), I am an artist, mainly I do miniature paintings which I sell thru galleries, but I have been a professional carver for years- started carving in 1978!!! I judge, compete, and teach, now mainly in this area but in the past all over the US and Canada. I raised chi puppies for several years, and previously to that I and my mom raised toy poodles for a number of years. Chis and Valley B's are my favorite breeds, and I've had many in my life- I've always had 2 or more dogs in my life after my first one at age 5. And I'm an old thing so that means LOTS of dogs. LOL. I love to read, never enough time for that. My favorite shows are Anne of Green Gables and the Brit Sitcom As Time Goes By. I love to cook, was lucky enough to go to the Pillsbury Bake-Off in 1988. That was a WOW trip- paid trip from MN to San Diego, CA and treated like a queen for 3 days. Once in a lifetime experience.
I have 2 grown daughters, and 3 grandchildren. My grandson is in the Army Nat'l Guard and he and my oldest granddaughter are both in college. My youngest is 12 and I am teaching her piano lessons by Skype. Not ideal, but blessed to have it and be able to do that.
Well, that's me in a nutshell. Now tell us about you!
