Dianne, safe travels---like you, I am not sure how much I will be on after today esp. when we are on the bus trip to Maine. Might be able to just pop on and say Hi on those days as I don't know how busy we will be on the trip. I hope we will be super busy and see lots of things.
Betsy, nice to get all those raspberries. Hope you got everything set up so that you and Dh got the jam completed in a timely fashion. Glad you figured out someone to be her primary. I like nurse practiconers a lot---they seem to care more than doctors. I think we all concentrate more on the main sections of our homes and not our private place so much. I collect Holly Hobbie dolls---but no new ones in years---they are rag dolls and are old fashioned. figured since I didn't have any daughters, that I should get dolls for Christmas when the boys were younger---LOL Most of the M & M things are the ones they used to come out with each year that dispensed candy---and they are Dh's but I like them, too. Not much in orange up there though. We will be going to Disney World---driving down there and back. If I was going to California, I would have to fly at that time, and then I would not be able to visit Terri---LOL---but I am hoping that I might connect with a couple of Spark friends down in Florida but not sure about that either. What a shame about your friend having a stroke but it sounds like a good thing he will be recovering in a nursing home---it must be like one of ours here that has a rehab section. If they feel you cannot go home after the rehab period, then they find a place for you. And Medicare covers the rehab entirely for a certain period of time but not the nursing home totally. I know this from Mom being in there. Hope your shoulder didn't hurt too bad after the swim. I know what you mean about being in the pool making you feel good. That's why I chose leaving on Thursday this time so I could make my 2 classes of water aerobics as I won't have that while I am gone.
Terri, wow, quite the book---but that's okay. What a mess with that guy selling sick pigs to the kids. He really blew any credibility doing that and kind of cut his own throat there. Thinking it is about time to head back to cut grass in the canyon. Do your neighbors let you know when the grass is getting to that point? With having no rain for quite a while, our grass hasn't needed to be cut every week but now that we had all that rain on Monday, Dh will have to cut grass or get Mr. Jackie to cut it for him. I don't mind having him cut it---I am sure he needs the money and Dh needs to watch his back so it is worth the money for that. I would cut it myself if home if not super hot---which it will be by the end of the week here. I think I am heading to where it will be about 15-20 degrees cooler according to the weather report I saw. I am thinking the kids that moved might not do as well this year at the fair. But does that mean they won't get as decent a price for their animals at the end? That sure is a lot of money to spend on an animal to raise.
I did get my car washed and cleaned out yesterday---and Dh came out to help so we ended up washing his truck, too and he cleaned out the inside of his truck---including the back. Luckily I left my wool poncho in the car as I needed it at the car dealership when I got my oil changed. When we went out to dinner, I was still kind of chilled so I put on a pair of jeans and took a jacket that I needed there---LOL I think I finally got warm later when we got home and I took my 20 minute walk and did laundry. Moving around helped a lot then.
Today is last laundry, pack the suitcases, and make lists for Dh ---LOL OH, and I need to go to the bank, get my hair cut, and get new window wipers for my car---cheaper elsewhere than at the shop. Hope to have time to pop on in the morning before I leave but no promises.

I came on and read yesterday's posts last night, but was too tired to return the favor. I did some hard labor at the ranch again yesterday and came home hungry, tired and dirty. I opened a couple of jars of turkey soup and added some noodles for dinner, took a shower and went to bed soon after. I slept well and woke up before 7:00, which is closer to a normal time for me. haven't been taking my vitamins lately and am thinking that might help, since we've been doing more physical labor than usual. At least I am. I think that's why my body is needing more sleep.

Mary finished the little baby outfit and it turned out really cute. She put snaps in the legs for diaper changing and that was a pain, but she learned something new. She bought some more fabric and is now planning a few more projects and may be able to do them on her own now that she's done this one.

Dianne, my first thought about DD1 pushing you to run is "Misery love company" I have never been able to get to that euphoria they talk about, so have never been able to love running. I like lots of physical things, but not running for the sake of running. I know that you're happy that your family is getting back into it and keeping their weight down, as you've mentioned your concerns about some of them in the past. Training for a race while on a cruise vacation would definitely NOT be on my list of Fun Things to Do! Good for you for working up a sweat today. That was me yesterday and I have a bruise on the heel of my hand from pulling out nails with the claw hammer. I'll give it a rest for a day or two and find some other work to do.

We've had a man come and take measurements for gutters on the log house this morning. He just left and will work up a bid for the project. He wasn't intimidated by the angles or the height of the roof in the front, so that's encouraging. Steve did say the he would rent a man lift to do the front of the house (the highest point from the ground) and the rest can be done on a ladder, I guess.

Steve was not able to get DIL's AC working in her minivan, so that was disappointing. He's not sure what the problem is, but may do some more research and try again. Today, he's researching my Viking range. The oven is cooking hot again and the broiler won't come on. We had it serviced and paid over $400 to have a part replaced last December and it's doing the very same thing again. The part itself was almost $300! I can't be doing that every year, no matter how much I like the stove. But, we have to have it working properly when we sell the house, so if Steve can't figure out how to fix it we'll just have to bite the bullet and pay for the repairman. I have an appt. for the 17th just in case Steve can't solve the problem.

Betsy, your Sunday morning sounds like so many of mine. I don't usually have specific plans, but it seems that whenever I do, things conspire to belay them! I can't begin to tell you how many times my plans are sidelined by other people or random events. The situation with Megan's family is heartbreaking, for sure. Stupid drugs! Stupid people for taking drugs! I hope that man stays in jail for every bit of the 5 years and more if he hasn't straightened out by then! Grrrr! Would the family consider allowing the baby to be adopted? That would doubtless be the best option, humanly speaking; however, you never know what will turn a person's life around. This isn't the same girl you had before JB is it? I didn't think she could be 23 yet. Where did they come up with that name?

DS1's kids have been faithfully walking their animals twice a day and we often hear the bleating of sheep in our driveway when we least expect it. They live on a hill, as do we, and then there's a low-lying orchard between us, so it's "uphill both ways" as they walk. It's all dirt road around here, so they aren't out on the county road at all. That would be comical for commuters, but dangerous for the animals--so they won't be going that far. They've got far too much money invested in them to take chances. The kids pay a lot of money for show-quality animals for 4H, so they give them a lot of extra attention, unlike the regular farm animals who can just be put out to pasture. DS2's kids (on the ranch) are actually a little behind with their animals due to all the upheaval of moving and getting settled. They have the two steers in the round pen and can work with them there, but to work with the pigs, they have to put the steers away in their stalls, move the 5 horses to the round pen, and then take the pigs for a walk because the pig pen opens into the field where the horses are being kept now. This is going to be a hard year for them, but we kind of anticipated that. We just didn't know HOW hard it was going to be. One of their pigs was actually sick when they brought it home and eventually died, as did several other pigs bought from him by other kids in our area. The parents of the other kids threatened a lawsuit if he didn't replace the pigs or refund kids' money, and Sarah just insisted that he find Rylan another pig that he could use for the fair--which means it will have to be the right breed and size to compete. He has promised to do that, but we haven't seen the replacement yet so I'm still hoping it will turn out okay. Sarah spent nearly $500 on vet bills for the sick pig that died and they can't afford to eat that expense and still not have an animal for the kid to show and sell at the fair. Needless to say, that breeder will NOT be getting any more business from our club or our neighbor club. Although, he seems to be making things right with the kids, he still sold a lot of animals that were sick and that's not good business. DS1 raised pigs and sold them for a few years, but they weren't "show quality" animals and DIL is getting tired of having so many animals to look after. It does keep them tied down and that's why Steve doesn't want me to get any animals to care for--even though it would have certainly helped keep the grass down in the canyon! Of course, it's not practical for us while we have to go back and forth all the time.

Dianne, I'm not sure how many items are allowed as fair entries, but I think there's a limit of 2 in each category. When Ali entered her stuffed animals, she was allowed two and the livestock kids are only allowed 2 entries for the sale and showmanship. Pablo is entering 2 pigs, Ali and Christian each have a pig and a lamb, Ben and Blaine each have a steer and a pig, and Rylan has 2 pigs. We bought turkeys too and Sarah entered Ben to show a turkey just in case his pig didn't work out, but when it comes to fair time he'll only be able to enter with 2 animals. His turkey won Grand Champion last year and we ate the larger, 50 lb. runner-up for Thanksgiving. It dressed out to 38 lbs. and wasn't entered in the fair because it was too big for "market". Best turkey I've ever eaten, though!

Betsy, I have a book that has all our User Names and passwords (in code) in it, too. When we moved back to the canyon and began to get our mail there, I didn't want any of our bills or bank statements going to the rural box, so I switched everything to paperless and started paying everything online. Most of our accounts are on automatic payments that go on our Amtrak credit card and then I just pay that. Some of them have to be paid manually, but I still do it online and put it on the card. We don't have the same user names or passwords for everything, so I had to write them down and have them in a book where Steve could find them if anything happens to me. He wouldn't be able to access anything without the book! We've accumulated enough points using the Amtrak card to take a nice, long trip if we ever have enough time to do it! What I'd really like to do is take the whole family on a train trip somewhere sometime. I think that would be a blast--even if it was just to Disneyland, which is a one-day trip, but even better if it were a longer run.

Why wouldn't your personal doctor take your DD2 as a patient? I realize that she's an adult and technically a new patient, but it seems that the doctor would want to encourage the family to come for care. Government interference has certainly screwed things up! Jenny still can't get her family covered with the same insurance plan. She and SIL can have an HSA, but the kids have to be on the "welfare" plan because their income isn't high enough or low enough. I think certain politicians are trying to force us all into being dependent on them for everything and can't leave us alone to provide for ourselves. In order to "supposedly" provide insurance for some, they've taken it away from many, many others who were doing okay without their "help". I hope you and Dianne are able to squeeze in a visit while she's there. I recommend Panera!

Lindie, I love the muu muu! It looks very comfy. My mother-in-law wore "house" dresses in the summer time, but they were pretty much like yours. I'm glad it's such a good fit for you. I could've shortened it for you in about 10 minutes and wouldn't have charged you a nickel. I might let you buy me a mocha, though. I've been doing laundry today and found a hole in a pair of Steve's jeans that I'll patch. He must have caught it on some barbed wire or something because it's just in one spot. Mending will extend the life of those pants and save me the cost of a new pair for a while. Mary Beth is a meticulous planner and is great with budgeting and saving money, so I hope her dh appreciates her for that. She's not much of a gardener, but I think that may change when she has her own property and home. Her dh likes to plant things, but is often gone during the growing season, so the watering and care falls to Mary and she works in a bank and doesn't like to get her hands dirty. She loves to cook, though, so canning would fall into that category. She does enjoy doing things "old school" and has recently made some baby quilts for local baby showers. They're really cute and I think special. She isn't sure the recipients were as excited about homemade as we are, but that's on them. Mary said that the one is a young, 19 yo girl who will be a single mother who probably has never had anything homemade in her life, as that's just not the norm anymore. I told Mary not to be surprised if the girl shows an interest in learning from her someday soon, because that's often the way it goes. My DIL (Sarah) has a Roomba device that she calls Higgins that she turns loose in her house every day. With 4 kids and a dog, she says it cuts her sweeping time to a fraction.

emoticon to the meatball warmer, Anne! That is so funny that J will tolerate that, but not a nice pot roast in the crock pot! I thought you were going to say that you used the chicken for Chicken Parmesan or something using the extra sauce. I'm assuming that it's Italian sauce? That reminds me that I might want to do another pot roast soon. It was such a huge hit last time and the leftovers were turned into a nice stew that lasted another couple of days on the ranch. When we had a crew out there working , it really saved the day. I'm glad you were able to find the number for the house-cleaning donation. I could use a few of those! Glad you also caught the tax info mistake before it was too far behind you! I see that Dianne answered the question about the gentlemen not being able to help with Communion. It's a political/safety issue for him, I'm sure. We had a woman in our church with a similar issue many years ago, when the Taliban was in control. She came to talk to us about her new Mission, which she could not call a "mission" because Christian missionaries were not allowed in that country and would not be safe. She was a nurse and was being allowed to go to work in a women's clinic, but would not be allowed to hold Bible studies or proselytize, and she would have to wear the burka whenever out in public. She couldn't even tell us WHERE she was going because, if it got out that she was a Christian missionary, her life and the lives of many others would be in jeopardy. Her main prayer request was that she would be able to love the oppressors there and not become embittered toward them.

Betsy, what a nice treat those raspberries are! I need to go down and check ours again. I'm sure many have made the birds happy because I just couldn't get back down the hill to pick again after the last time. The blackberries are ripening at the ranch--at least the ones we haven't mowed down. They are so invasive and have simply consumed too much area, so they will be cut back on a regular basis; however, in the meantime we'll pick from the ones that are producing right now in places we don't need cleared yet.

I should have broken this post up, but had a second window open to refer to as I typed so just kept going. Sorry about the book.

Cathy, I decided to create an individual post related to everyone's July comments and you're up first. I may not get through everybody today but I WILL do it. I will read June but won't comment on those posts as I feel the time for that has passed.

It was a great idea to do the chat theme for two months, I don't think any of us would mind if you wanted to do that at another time of year if it is easier for you. I had to laugh at your DH having a small hoarding spot because you described exactly what my mother used to have. Also, we have several small (and large) hoarding spots all over our house now! We started tackling our bedroom on Sunday and I hope to complete another one of those problem areas in there today. I also had to laugh at the grunts and sighs of your DH dusting. Sorry, but when I informed my DH i was going to dust after I put clothes away, he did it ( without grunts and groans) but he did need a few tips from me. One was that you can't just dust the top surface of the nighstand, you must dust the bottom one too! emoticon emoticon
The PT gave me a really good core strengthening exercise and that has helped my back a great deal, thanks for asking. Sorry again, but it was good to hear someone else had a bedroom full of dust, ours was awful.
Lunch on July 3 with Cheri was wonderful and I liked it so much I took DD1 back to the same place for lunch the next day! My day did "go long" on July 3 partially because Dh texted the wrong time he needed to be picked up so I was stuck out there for quite a while. I wasn't wearing any sunscreen so I stayed in the car and read. My phone was dead or I would have posted.
We have a charcoal grill so running out of gas isn't a problem for us. Fortunately the store isn't too far away if we run out of charcoal and a bag isn't too expensive. "Extra" gallon of milk? We barely get through one before it expires and there are three of us here. Sorryagain but I had to laugh when you said you didn't get to the bedroom because you ran errands, that sounds just like us!
Are you going to DisneyLand in CA or Disney World in FL? How exciting! You're right about the craziness and crowds during holidays. We were there on Christmas Day and couldn't even get into the Magic Kingdom because it was at capacity in the morning!
What kind of dolls do you have? My grandparents gave us dolls from all over the world and they were beautifully displayed in our home. I still have a few of mine but they are packed away in boxes. My favorite one was from Holland, she stood on her own in wooden clogs. I didn't know yo you collected M&M items either, I bet you have lots of orange ones, don't you?
Where are you and Joy going in Maine? My brother's X wife, 4/5 of their children ( soon to be all five) and their families live there. One of them recently bought a really cool historical diner and the menu always looks interesting. Before he bought it but I believe when he was a chef there, it was featured on a TV show.
Did you have aftereffects from your first shingles shot? Do you want an iPod or an iPad? My iPod only plays music but it is quite old.
DD1 did have her online banking set up but we still need to fix it so she can deposit her own baby/pet sitting checks. We'll have to go in when she's off next monday. We did get an estimate for her car damage, made an appointment for her tire alignment, got a new lift for her walking shoes and finally selected a nurse practitioner for her primary care provider. We chose her based on a youtube video that I wish all of them had. Every one we looked at except our choice was very young or at least very new to their practice. DD2 wasn't comfortable with someone younger than she is and at her age, I don't blame her. I just hope and pray we made a good choice.
Talk about the day taking a turn! Marcia, our friendly orchard grower, just called and offered six quarts of freshly picked raspberries. I will pick them up after this post and then turn my attention to washing berries, scalding peaches and other preparations for raspberry peach jam.DH will not be thrilled when he comes home but if I have everything ready, the process will go much quicker tonight. We used to tackle 26 quarts or more at a time so six should be a piece of cake!

Dianne, I know you said you may not get here this time but if that changes, let me know, I am off work until July 22. emoticon

I got up early and went into town to take advantage of the 8-8:50 adult swim time at the city pool. My shoulder is yelling at me but I did take Aleve before I went and it was very refreshing to start the day with swimming.

I do need to shower but wanted to mention another prayer request. The husband of a friend of mine with special needs had strokes on both sides of the brain yesterday. He weighs 400 pounds so she can't care for him so he'll have to recover ( hopefully) in a nursing home. She is beside herself with worry and doesn't understand what to do. Fortunately she has a support system via Facebook and has ben getting a lot of good advice. Her name is Linda and his name is Bill. You may remember me telling you that they had their children taken away years ago. They are still very bitter about that but it really was for the best.

I'll be back...

Morning! Cathy--even his voice on the tape could be bad. We are blessed that we can all pursue God in the way we choose.

I went out to run/walk this AM--did over 2 miles and then pulled weeds from my iris bed. I am pretty much packed up but don't leave till tomorrow! I do have to do laundry today but don't need anything from that load.

Lindie--I think making a sash could be a great idea. That is a pretty dress.

I like to look on my own as well when I go to a museum or something like that. Hubby has learned that!

Better get moving--I was sweating enough after my run that it was dripping off my nose when I was weeding. I need a shower!

Dianne, I am putting off the 2nd shingles shot until I get back for just that reason. Let me know if he had aftereffects this time, too. We just don't realize how important our freedoms are in this country---until we meet someone like your guest speaker. Did they not tape his speech? Or just not put the camera on his face while speaking? We have a local station that is sending a group to the Domincan Republic this week---and saying that they are trying to break the circle of poverty at one village. But really, how do we do that when to break the cycle jobs are needed for those people--and not that we can invent and pay for jobs for them. All we can do is provide them some needed materials. I don't think they use their brains when they make comments like that. Glad you are holding strong on saying no to the run. You know your body plus that is hard on the knees as we get older. Running is not for everyone anyhow---they need to stop pushing you.
Lindie, Looking at the dress I was thinking it still looked like it would be long on you. Did she even listen to you about what length you wanted? I am sure it will be comfortable, but do be careful climbing steps in it. Some of my skirts are way too long and I have to roll them up some but still have to hold them up to climb the steps.. Good luck with dust bunnies---I think some are still lurking under my bed---LOL---because I haven't done dh's side yet---and it might not get done---sigh. If there is enough material you could maybe make a sash if you wanted to belt the dress to make it a bit shorter. Decide not to get a smart phone---Michael said that an Ipod would do what I wanted without having to pay extra for data which I probably won't use. I can take pictures and hopefully figure out how to share on here with it---he said he would help if I don't figure it out. Figure Joy would be able to help me with that anyhow on how to do it.
Betsy, it is hard to find a primary doctor---I still am having issues trying to find one---but then I haven't really looked for one seriously. Glad you did have some fun time with dd1 and hope you got all the issues settled for dd2 yesterday. I keep a book with passworks, too. And boy, do I hate when they tell you that your password is not strong enough---duh, if that is what I want, then accept it! I don't do banking online just because I don't trust it and don't want to deal with more passwords for that. Seems like all systems are vulnerable now so why add to my vulnerability.
Anne, I agree, some places you just want to wander on your own. When I took Steve and Terri to the Holocaust museum, we agreed to just go our own ways and then meet up at the end. That way we could all find what interested us plus I am a speed reader so I would have read stuff and possibly when waiting for them to finish up. Joy and I often wander off from each other when we go places and have no issues doing that and then share things we spotted that the other might not have. I think that is why I like going to the Flower Show by myself when I was taking lots of pictures---that way I didn't have to go searching for the rest of my party.
Terri, did you spend all day at the new place again?
Boy, did it pour while we were out yesterday---dropped off my car for an oil change and Dh picked me up and we went to Chick-fil-a for lunch. It was just too wet to go anywhere afterwards so he dropped me off at the dealership---and they hadn't even started on my car---and then they couldn't because my oil cap is stuck and they need a replacement cap which won't be there until today---so back to the shop it will go to day. So I think I will go outside this morning to wash it and clean out the inside.
I did get my scrapbook bag out and packed the stuff I want to take---went thru all my papers and I am only taking paper I think I might want to use. Found all the pictures, post cards and brochures to use for the book on my big trip. Hope to get a lot of it done. I kind of know what I want to do so I can buzz thru a lot of the pages once I get going.
Suitcases are ready to be packed but won't do that until tomorrow. Might get my hair cut either today or tomorrow.
Have a good Tuesday!

Anne--the gentleman could help with Communion at our church but we do a live stream on Facebook and, if anyone in his country saw him or associated him with church, he would be kicked out of the country. So they didn't even come up front for Communion--we took it to them.

Hubby just got shingles shot #2--I hope it doesn't affect him like the first shot did--he lost 2 days.

Cathy, glad you were able to sleep in a bit. I do like white fish and will eat fried calamari, shrimp, and lobster...but can definitely skip those last 3 without any issue. I was tempted to get one of the pub burgers, but figured J would give me a hard time about being so close to the ocean and not having fish, lol! Hope you got enough rain to water the flower beds, grass, and gardens, but that it stopped so you could wash your car. When are you leaving?

Betsy, picking new doctors is a nuisance! I see the nurse practitioner at my PCP's office now...it is much easier to get an appointment with her than the doctor. I wonder why that is! I really like her a lot, so I usually ask for her if I have to call the doctor's office. Hope all the issues didn't take as long as you expected!

Dianne, your DD2 is crazy! I hope she drinks in lots of water the next few days! Too funny that she used understand no at 2, but no longer as an adult! I am sort of surprised that you didn't want to run the 10k, though. Is your church not affiliated with other churches of the same denomination? Are only your pastor and parishioners allowed to minister to the people? We can have priests from all over the world say Mass, Consecrate the Eucharist, and give out Communion. Do you have much to do before your trip?

Lindie, I love the muu-muu! Using some of the material as a ribbon on a hat is a great idea! I agree...use the items you already have to chase those dust bunnies...exercise while cleaning, lol! We go to Newport a few times a year, but every time we've been to the Fort Adams area it is closed or the last tour had gone out...they do tours til 4:00 pm. Yesterday was the first time we actually went into the Fort. We also go to Castle Island which is the home of Fort Independence. J has been in there, but I have not. They only do tours there once in a blue moon. I would like to go to the zoo...we have a few we can go to. I actually would like to go alone so that I can watch the animals I want to watch and not have to either linger at the ones I don't or hurry from the ones I do. Hope your weather stays similar to today for a bit...it sounds delightful.

Had a productive day, though I didn't accomplish any banking or billing! Instead I worked on getting the picnic team paperwork in some semblance of order. I also took care of finding a way to contact the person who donated 3 hours of house cleaning. Her number wasn't on her gift certificate. Fortunately I saved all the emails related to the wine tasting/auction evening and managed to find an email from the parish secretary asking about the offer as a donation. I've been to the gas station, resolve a mistake I made back on June 4th...rang in a part as tax and didn't catch it. It caused our tax filing information to be whacky, which my boss happened to catch. I have already fixed all the spreadsheets that had the wrong information, printed out the ones I keep in a binder, and also did my regular paperwork. I just wish she had texted me so that I brought my computer into work instead of bringing the work home with me. Now I just have to remember to bring it back tomorrow, lol!

I had some meatballs and sauce frozen in 2 different containers. I thought one of the containers was just sauce, but surprise, surprise...it had meatballs in it, too! I put them in the crockpot...yes, J does not have a problem with heating meatballs up and keeping them hot in the crockpot...it's just a big meatball warming machine to him. It is way more than I expected and now we will be eating meatballs for a couple of days, lol! I had pulled out of the freezer some chicken last Friday and never cooked it, so it went into the oven with a bit of BBQ sauce. That will need to be eaten during the week, too. Good thing...a few meals are prepared (sort of). Bad thing...we will have the same stuff all week. Thank goodness J doesn't have issues eating leftovers!

J just got home. Back tomorrow.

Have a good night!

Happy Monday friends, its a sunny afternoon for a change and not bad temps either - it was cloudy and rainy over the weekend with cooler temps, but I like the cooler temps - my daughter Dee gave me a cheap battery operated vaccuum that I can just turn it on and let it go around the room - it was funny to watch and the dust bunnies all got caught but it filled up fast - only works on wood floors, Gene thought of buying a real one and I said no, we have enough things here to get the dust bunnies but if we don't use them, the dust bunnies win LOL I went and picked up my MuuMuu dress from the alteration place -the seem work was ok - she matched the thread up great - and its still almost to my ankles but it will be short enough - I have the excess material not sure what I will do with it, maybe get a straw hat and put it on there like a ribbon thingy .... laundry done and put away too.

it does look good on me - the chest area fits just right - not too tight and not too loose, that usually does not happen - I like how it will flair out and of course it will look better on me then the bed, or hanger !!

Betsy, I hope you can encourage Megan to keep trying, we all have to work hard at some things and sometimes it seems like one thing after another - I agree with Dianne about the password book - I have one too and beleive me sometimes, I can't read it lol but I tend to stick to passwords that I can remember, like a statement or a saying - course banks are different my bank password is different for my card, account, and visa - I have fun keeping them in order ! Sometimes I will use a password like 2Timothy3and1to5 - or I will use a date in combination with numbers and symbols like 04Apr@19 - then again something more simple would just be IloveApplePIe. I hope everthing works out ok.

Dianne, I thought about the wife that you will be comforting - I find Ps56:8 - Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book? King James Version - another versionof that scripture is You keep track of my wandering.Do collect my tears in your skin bottle. Are they not recorded in your book? - New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures which is the bible I read daily - I have access to other bibles online and like to read the verses in other bibles too. Funny how kids don't know that word NO - wait till they think your the child and they are the adult ! then its really fun ...

Anne, glad you had a good Sunday - we went to the Vancouver Zoo, which is not actually in Vancouver - If I believe correctly, you go there a lot to the Fort Adams ? I hope your day today is going well!!

Terri, I hope the boys can walk the animals ok, but really they have had a lot on their plate this summer with moving and then going to the other place to help, its hard to take care of animals when there are other things that call for attention too - all a learning process - that is so nice of Mary to make an outfit for her sister's baby - she is wise to have some $$$ put away before starting a family as it is so expensive but I bet you some of you has rubbed off on her and she might just do her own canning and gardening - how is her hubby doing, is he back from Alaska ? I know a lot of California fire fighters went to northern Canada to help - in Alberta ... it is forrest fire season now - I imagine in your area too ...

Cathy, are you excited, did you get the bedroom finished ? I need to clean up mine - my night tables are a disaster and I keep ignoring it ... I know it will not go away ... Did you find a phone yet ?

My Iphone plan is simple, less data more money figures - 4 gb as I never use the 5 gb - I tend to use my home WiFi to download things as that also has 5 GB and I would rather use the internet one then the phone one - I still pay 110.00 a month just for the phone. Then internet is 69.00 and if they keep it at that I will stay on but they are changing things because of the complaints about how the 3 major internet companies charge too much for data - and so now they are renaming things and setting a high price - well if they want to keep me as a customer, they better come up with better, like I told them last time, I am not paying 200 a month for data plans, and if one has to go it will NOT be the phone .... lol

Maybe I should go clean my night stands now .... LOL

Guess I missed yesterday--and I missed a LOT!

Terri--sounds like the 4-H kids take their animals seriously! We never did critters but I made $$ at the fair by entering LOTS of sewing and other projects. It seems so different now. Glad you aren't bothered by the earthquakes. DD1 is not--and even my brother in Las Vegas had no issues with glass shelves. Glad you are getting some sleep--sometimes we just need it!

Cathy--we have the cooler weather and rain today but hubby has the AC on. He is going with me to WI but he is flying out on Saturday--I am going to help the wife of our friend for a couple of days. Not looking forward to the tears but glad I can help her.

Betsy--that poor young lady! Too much for one her age to handle--or anyone--without support. I hope you get your "stuff" dealt with. Suggest to DD2 that she start a password book--she can make note of them and keep that in a drawer so she can look them up if needed. We have one--in a "code" but hubby and I can figure them out that way. I can't remember everything either! Sorry the clinic is giving you difficulty...

Anne--sounds like you had a nice weekend! I have to agree--some days church just seems LONG. Wasn't yesterday--we had a visitor from another country--he can't be a "missionary" cause they aren't allowed but he tries to share God's love. Very interesting but I ended up assisting with Communion since he couldn't -- our services are on Facebook and he couldn't be seen--so I help the chalice.

oh--DD2 did run 33+ miles yesterday in 7 hours, 25 minutes. It was 50 kilometers. She is crazy. She expects to feel very stiff today--people warned her that Monday would be worse than Sunday. She is prepping training plans for half marathon in October for DD2 and DH. She wants me to run a 10K. Doesn't seem to understand the word "no" when I say it. She knew it when she was 2 but....seems to have forgotten! LOL They will all be training on the cruise--I will maybe count laps for them--that is all!

Cathy, I am not surprised at all the issues in Megan's family, just that there are so many at once. Megan is really trying to improve herself but keeps hitting road blocks. I agree that her mom shouldn't get custody with her health issues and feel Rekkon would be better off in another environment, poor baby. Yes, Cathy, I did find some time to relax with DD1 while she visited for three days.

Anne, each skillet was $13.99 but that's not bad for the size. Thank you so much for adding Megan and her family to your prayer list. I agree that I would also change his name and believe if Megan and her mother get him, they may come up with a different name as well even if Rekkon is on the birth certificate.

Ugh, I finally chose my own doctor as a primary for DD2 and just learned that even though the website says she is accepting new patients, she is not. Back to the drawing board....this issue and financing the mower have taken up so much of my time. Mower is here now so I am halfway there. Nobody wants to go to the clinic where DD2 is going so I can't get referrals from anyone and need to research nurse practitioners on google. Before you ask why we are staying at the clinic that even the doctors are leaving in droves, the answer is her eye doctor. He has been there since the accident happened and he will refer her to Madison so we need to keep that. DD2 has been having leg pain and realized her old tennis had a lift and her new ones do not so we are going to the PT office to take care of that today and then we are going to the credit union together. She needs to learn how to get on her online account again and how to use it. I did not want to know the password but I am going to have to get it because she didn't remember it from a very short time ago. She has off on Mondays and there are some other issues we need to take care of but I won't go into those, suffice it to say, it will be time consuming. That said, I better get to it and remember I am always thinking of this wonderful team and I will have Spark time tomorrow.

Anne, sounds like a really nice day for you and J. I would have enjoyed all activities but not the meal---LOL Joy has checked our meal itinerie for the trip to Maine and 2 places we were concerned about will have a different choice for us since Joy cannot have shellfish and I don't like seafood. Did you hip feel better?
Betsy, glad to finally hear from you. You are posting less on vacation than you do when working---LOL Are you actually taking some time to relax? Are you really surprised at what Megan is going thru? Working with the kind of kids that I do in my school, that sounds about normal nowadays. Why work when you can be supported by the government? Feel sorry for the child to come---he deserves a "real" family ---so many people would adopt a baby if they would just allow it. And it doesn't sound like Megan's mom should have custody with her health anyhow. Glad you have had time with family on your holiday.
Terri, do they take them walking along the road or just around the property? Do the pigs give them issues when made to walk? I don't think I would want to walk one of them. Your body is getting used to staying in bed longer. I know i am finally able to sleep past 6 now and this morning it was 7:30---so I will need the alarm on the day I leave to make sure I have enough time to do last minute things and get on the computer a bit plus walk around to get the blood circulating.
Dianne, are you cooler today?
Reason I think I slept in so late is that my room did not become light filled---we have had some rain this morning and more predicted for the morning hours---woohoo---and cooler temps afterwards for a day or so. I am very happy with the rain but there went my plans for the morning. I was going to vacuum out my car and maybe wash it---but now I will do it after I get an oil change at 1 today if it is not raining still.
It's Monday---need to remind myself what day it is---LOL

Betsy, glad the tractor got there...but dang, why give suggested arrival times when they are just going to show up whenever! Yay to huge skillets! I hope they didn't have huge prices! Poor Megan! That is way too much for a 23 year old to have to handle! She and her family will be added to my prayer list. If I ended up adopting Rekkon, I think I would have to change his name. I pray he will not have drug related and/or withdrawal issues!

Terri, was Steve able to fix DIL's ac? That is sweet that MaryBeth is making the outfit for Anna's baby! It is nice the kids have that kind of a commitment to their animals and 4H! I hope they do very well!

I am sitting here getting very annoyed with the stupid ad that is right next to this posting box. It is from Home Depot and it has about 10 items in the box. Each item pops up larger then gets small and the next one pops up. They stay inside their ad box...but the popping up and down is driving me crazy! According to my "pop-up" blocker information, pop-ups on Spark are supposed to be blocked and I am supposed to be asked if it is allowed. Well this has to be something else because I would not allow it! Grrrrr!

We had a nice day yesterday. We went to Fort Adams and J really enjoyed the tour. It was an hour tour through the fort and only cost $24 for both of us. Afterwards we went on part of the Cliff Walk along the backside of some of the Mansions of Newport. Then we went to dinner at the Portsmouth Publick House. J had fish and chips (though he exchanged his "chips" for a salad) and I had baked haddock casserole. It was a good way to end the afternoon. J kept saying how much he enjoyed the tour. It did make a difference having a guide!

Today is catch up day...laundry, banking, bills, etc.!

Have a good Monday!

Anne, I am still here, just busy with usual and unusual things. DD1 left later last night and just when I thought I would have some me time, DD2 came home early from her evening out with her friends. This morning we were all dressed and ready to go to 10 AM Mass when our lawn tractor ( supposed to arrive between noon and four) arrived. Thankfully, we had another option at another church at 10:30 but that just slowed down our day. We might have made it but Montana, one of the delivery men was one of DH's former students so they had to chat for a bit.
After Mass we went out for breakfast and all of us got skillets. All of us have enough left to last for a week, they were huge!

Our former Little Sister, Megan, now 23, is having a rough time with her family and we are trying to be supportive as much as possible. Her mother was taken off the ventilator today and is now doing well but it was scary for a few days. Her older sister is due to have a baby in August and she is living in the crisis shelter. Her name is Nikki and she has been in and out of jail multiple times for drugs, alcohol and violent behavior. She thought she would take advantage of her mother being away and tried to steal things from the apartment so Megan had to call the police. A few weeks ago the father of the baby tried to inject Nikki and the baby with heroin so he is in jail for domestic violence and may stay for five years or more. All of this stress coupled with stress from yet another sister has caused Megan to have sinus trouble. She can't drive ( too expensive so never got a license) so we brought her some of her favorite clear drinks. Oh, I almost forgot, the poor baby boy is going to be named Rekkon Wolf! Megan's mom has already filed for grandparent custody because they are fully expecting the baby to be taken away. Megan's mom isn't well so Megan will most likely wind up taking care of Rekkon and the cycle of poverty will continue, so sad.

I just saw it is nearly midnight so I must sign off but hello to everyone. emoticon
DH has off tomorrow and I have some loose ends to tie up with DD2's insurance and banking so I will probably not be here much until Tuesday. DH and DD2 will go to work and I will have a quiet house with a computer at my disposal for posting. emoticon

I can't believe how I'm sleeping so late these days! We have been staying up late when we're home and watching some Netflix and that might explain it; however, even when we've been working at the ranch and go to bed earlier, I still sleep until 8:00! I haven't done that in years. I feel fine, so am not worried about it. It's just strange.

We joined the online church service at Parkside Church this morning and now Steve has gone over to DS1's to try to get the AC working in DIL's van. It's too hot to be drive without it if it can be helped.

Christian, Ali & Pablo have been walking their 4H animals around the neighborhood lately to get them into shape for the fair next month. The sheep need to get used to being walked and then standing in the right position for the judge, and the pigs just need to walk to firm up their muscles and increase their endurance for the show ring. When they've only lain in a pen for their entire lives, they will do the same when they get into the show ring and the judge can easily tell that the kids haven't spent any time working with them. So the kids will be walking the sheep and the pigs twice a day from now until fair and watching their weight and conformation.

Mary didn't finish her sewing project and plans to come back this afternoon. She's making a little outfit for Anna's baby. I think she's getting some baby fever herself, but wants to be in a better financial place before they start their family. I think she's planning on next year, after they pay off their truck and build up a little nest egg. I have some mending to do, so might get that done before she comes back today.

Hi all!
Cathy, sounds like a lot of cleaning went on, despite not getting into the corner area! We went to Disney twice in June and once in August...it was very busy and that was 32, 40, and 41 years ago! I guess places like that are always busy, but have much busier timeframes! Yes, I told J that I was NOT talking or shopping trucks this weekend! Enjoy your luncheon!

Terri, it was nice and smart that MaryBeth stayed over. I hadn't heard anything about fires in Alaska either. Or is her dh there for training? Glad Steve brought the log back so that he could use it when he and it are ready...no need to stop and get it! I miss the charcoal grill, but do appreciate the lack of waiting for the coals to get hot enough to cook on! Hope you continue to have no issues due to the aftershocks that seem to keep rolling on and on!

Lindie, I heard that the iPhone X's camera is fantastic! Glad you are enjoying that aspect of the phone! My plan comes with 4 gb of shared data...we hardly use 2, but we do pay about $150/month for it...that does include about $30/month for J's phone. Mine is paid off and I won't replace it until it starts having issues. Ha, ha, ha...I have trouble sewing a straight hem with an iron and ironing board, lol! J usually does it for me if it is a long piece. Guess I have a crooked eye, lol! Hope Gene appreciated your picking up his "fatty" cream!

Dianne, good for you getting out for all the different exercises in this heat! Hope you are drinking lots of water! Yes, the Fathers can cut their own watermelon. I think both of them also forgot about it. I also think they, unless they really need something done, will let me do things that I say I will, even if I don't do it right away. Of course, I generally try to do things right away because I do not want to forget, lol! I'm sorry about your friend's diagnosis. I do hope they caught it sooner than later...keeping him and his family in prayer!

Betsy, where are you? Are you trying to figure out the new computer, lol! I hope you are doing something fun and that the weather is cooperating more!

When I got home from work yesterday J was goofing on his computer...watching YouTube videos on making flies for fishing. It was too oppressive to do anything outside. We did go to Mass yesterday. I have to admit, my heart wasn't in it though. I didn't like the music, Fr. L's sermon went in circles, and it just seemed like it was very long. We did leave during the recessional song and it was 5:06. I generally don't care how long Mass is, but yesterday it really bugged me. You'd think I had evening plans, lol! Nope, just came home and had dinner. I had hoped to go to Castle Island after dinner, but the winds and thunderstorms came through. Instead I watched stupid TV and then went to bed.
No plans yet...J is still sleeping. I've been awake since 3:15 and physically up trying to stay quiet since 5:35. I watched the movie Left Behind before I got up. I have to say I preferred the book, but that isn't unusual. It is absolutely gorgeous looking out. The sun is bright, the sky is a beautiful blue, and the temps are only going to be in the upper 70's. It is supposed to be humid, though, but at that lower temperature it should seem as bad...I hope!

Have a blessed Sunday!

Anne, Did you tell J you weren't going truck shopping? Did he catch anything? I did get down all my dolls and dusted them and then Dh took down the M & M displays so I could dust them. But we didn't tackle the dresser or the floor in that corner. But it needs to be done very soon. Hope you slept better. sitting sideways on the bed probably was not a good idea. But if you continue to have pain, let the doctor know. Maybe use biofreeze on it before you go to bed or if you wake up in the middle of the night because it is hurting.
Dianne, here's something your dd can do to keep ants away from the food and water dishes. Have her get a regular cucumber---not the burpless kind---and just peel stripes on it---then slice the cucumbers and place them around the dishes--maybe 4 or 5 slices per bowl--replace when they dry up completely. That will keep the ants away from those bowls. Using cinamon on window sills and door sills will help keep them out. If she discovers ant hills outside sprinking the cinnamon on them or some corn meal helps get rid of them and won't hurt her cats. Also taking cucumber peelings and scattering them around them also helps. Sorry to hear about your friend having cancer--hope they caught it soon enough. Is your dh going with you to visit your family or just you? You haven't mentioned him so figuring he is saving his time off for the other trip. Hopefully, it won't be too busy during that time but it has to be better than trying to go in the heat of summer.
Lindie, I can handle the crowds at Disney because I love it there---LOL---but often don't go where there will be horrible crowding, like going on a Holiday there would be just miserable. Glad your wallet was turned in---you were lucky there.
Terri, glad you are not feeling any of the earthquakes up there. Nice that you had a houseguest you weren't expecting. Are there fires up in Alaska? Haven't seen that on the news but that doesn't seem to mean much anymore---they just want to talk politics way too early nowadays. I can understand everyone wanting to have another family gathering at the log house---I was wondering what would happen to your big Christmas Eve family affair..
Luncheon at church after service today. That's all that is planned---hoping for rain today--it is supposed to be much nicer tomorrow---if we get those storms and the front comes thru.

I posted before reading the new posts...

We didn't feel any of the earthquake or the aftershocks here, buy we are a long distance from the epicenter. California is a long state.

Steve measured the log before he cut it to length and was able to load it into his pickup and bring it home to dry. It will be used in the new wall for looks as well as potential support in the future. I'll post a picture when it's done.

I spent some time visiting with Sarah yesterday and then went up to the pool to tear off more of the old decking while Steve did his project. I was using a pry bar to pull out nails and tossing old boards into a pile and worked up a big sweat! I didn't finish, but made good progress and have another pile for Steve to haul away. I'm looking forward to seeing some rain so that I can burn some of this stuff! Once we get the old decking gone, we'll be able to assess the situation and plan the next phase.

Good morning team! We had an uncommon houseguest last night. Mary Beth stayed over with us for the first time since she got married last year. Her hubby is a firefighter and has been in Alaska for the past two weeks and she wanted some help with a sewing project last night. She knew she was coming back today for her dad's and brother's birthday bbq, so she just brought an overnight bag and stayed.

We sat up yakking until midnight, so slept late (again) this morning. Now I need to put the potato salad together that I had intended to do last night. I've got the last load of Sarah's laundry in the washer and will have Steve mop the floors once I'm done in the kitchen. Mary is upstairs in the sewing room, working on her project.

Mestena, I'm glad you're stopping by and hope you're having a good visit with your daughter. I'm curious to know if you sold your property and moved and how your dh is doing. Better, I hope.

We don't use our bbq often because it's just the two of us and I hate the cleanup. It's not a gas grill, either--so we have to have briquettes. We use it when we have a crowd, though.

Time to get moving or this salad won't be ready in time. Have a great Saturday.

Good morning Friends, WOW Cathy, Disneyland, never wanted to go myself but I am not a crowd, people person as you yourself are - you are quite comfortable with people, where I prefer smaller one on one ! Take a book for those lineups depending on what you will be doing ! Smartphones are ok but most want you to also have a data plan and that can be costly - data has become a gold mind. If you are not posting on the internet, remind Michael that you simply want to text and call - but data allows you to send pictures as well - I hope you find one you like. I like my IphoneX the camera on it is phenominal !

Dianne, I have no iron or ironboard, or propper cutting scissors or I would have attempted to do the hemming myself, as my grandmother did teach me how to hem, but not being able to iron the hem to help hold it in place might have resulted in a crooked hem job - LOL I hope your friend is going to be ok and they did catch the cancer in time. Ants - a while ago we had an invasion of ants, Gene sat in a pool of them just outside my door - I grabbed McCorrmick's cinnamon and started to sprinkle it on them, what Gene did not vaccuum up went right back into the hole they came out of real quick ! I had to take pictures to show the bug guy when he came and he did NOTHING cause I actioned it ! I think it was Cathy who posted a long time ago about ants and cinnamon and I am glad I paid attention !

Terri, hope all is well at both places, what did you get up to yesterday ?

Anne hope you can have a true "me" day as we do need to recharge our batteries from time to time.

So yesterday's adventure: I went to Safeway and got Gene his fat cream for his coffee and some cheese strings ( 10 airmiles ) and a frapachino at Safeway Starbucks ( 10 airmiles) and headed home. On the way home my credit union called and asked if I had used the bank machine - I said yes. They said you forgot your wallet here. I said no, I had it with me at Safeway, what is going on ! They said they had my wallet, well, I checked my jacket pocket and sure enough my wallet was NOT there !! So I told the rep I would be there shortly as I was only a block or so away. Turns out someone, a good samaratin, found my wallet and took it to the credit union - EVERYTHING intact including the 20.00 that was in the outside pocket ! No idea where I dropped it and they said the person who handed it in was a client, so I said I would bring in a thank you card for them for returning my wallet intact ! That will be my project this weekend. Tomorrow if its not raining, its the Vancouver Zoo, which is not actually in Vancouver - otherwise, maybe a museum, time with the sister and daughter.

Have a fun day today folks !!

Morning. .We had a nice dinner with friends last night--longest friends we have in NJ. Found out he has colon cancer--hoping they found it early enough....They may also have a microwave oven for DD2 to use--she did take an apartment (studio--and they are adding a small stove for her) and she'll move the end of this month. (Her boss offered help and a trailer to move her bed/mattress so she may not have to rent a truck.)

I got out for a step class today--today is the first day of the summer 5% challenge--and I need to drop 5%!! So I am going to focus and I will do it! DD1 is running a 50K race today--more against herself than anyone else. It is out in the bay--on a spit of land so should stay cooler. Others are doing 100K so I won't complain that she is doing 50. Her hubby is there with her--they just got home last night from their trip. And they found ants in the house AGAIN. They get into the cat feeders--even with the water moat.

Terri--sounds like Steve is being productive. Hope you don't get sucked into too much at the ranch.

Anne--I hope you get some quiet time so you can recharge. You would think the fathers could cut a watermelon....

Cathy--sounds like a fun trip to Disney--sorry Raegan isn't allowed to go. Are you going during the first full week of Nov? I hope not--that is "NJ week" at Disney--our schools have 2 days of teacher convention so many parents pull their kids that week to go to Disney. Have fun with Joy!

Lindie--that mu-mu sounds pretty! I guess you don't do much sewing? That would be an easy fix for me. This reminds me--Bob had another coat he wanted me to fix. Forgot it the other day. Well, Gene can drink the non-fat or go buy his own! LOL

Betsy--hope all is fine! Mare, you, too!

Cathy, glad you are still going to Disney and now you have the reservations made! Your bedroom will still be there when you get back...and the non-heavy cleaned side is Howard's, lol! Interesting idiosyncrasy Howard has! J's is needing "big" things.

Terri, I saw all the aftershocks going through CA on the Geological Map. I hope those plates settle down! Did Steve bring that log home or leave it at the ranch to dry?

I was in the tub when J and his brother came in. (I heard them pull in and headed up there.) I am not sure why I am feeling so grouchy lately...must be all the lousy nights of sleep I've been having! My hip is a bit achy this morning. I was sitting a little angled yesterday while sorting papers on my bed. I hope my exercises will help make it feel better and not worse! Off to b-fast with J & Rich! No plans for after work yet...but I refuse to go truck shopping this weekend!

Have a great Saturday!

Anne

Dianne, every time dh gets a new grill, he gets an empty tank with it. We did have 4 but he gave one to Michael, I think. LOL Dh freaks out if he only has one extra gallon of milk in the fridge. Occasionally we are on the last gallon before he buys more---have no idea why he is like this. Hope your dd1 didn't have any affects from the earthquake last night. I agree that she if officially crazy to run a 35 mile race in the summer! I remember when you worried about her weight way back when you started.
Lindie, wish you could send that rain my way. You would not like our heat and humidity---but then neither do I! But I wouldn't like your cost of living or living in a big city. I don't mind Salisbury, actually living in town means we are a lot closer to lots of places. Nice that someone gave you that dress--those are comfortable.
Terri, what is he using the logs for in the basement? Nice that you have those at the new place to bring back for it. Does he cut it to size before taking it back? Hope you didn't get sucked into some project while you were there. Did you feel the latest earthquake?
Anne, glad the paperwork went quickly. Sounds like you had a busy but uneventful day. LOL to the watermelon. I should remind Dh that he can get a watermelon while I am gone and I won't be here to complain that there is no room in the fridge. Hope J caught some fish and was in a good mood when you got home.
We ran errands yesterday instead of doing the bedroom. I needed some things from the Dollar Tree so we stopped there first---it had just been enlarged so we wanted to see how this one was---closer to our house than the other one. Then we went to Walmart---I got a few things for my trip---as well as stocked up on some items plus got cat litter---boy, that is a pain with those big tubs. When we got home I got the 2 carts to bring stuff in with. It took 2 loads on each one but it makes it so we can get those cat litters in the house a lot easier. Then I had to put stuff away. After doing all that and being in and out of the heat and humidity, I was done for the day and Dh was definitely done after dealing with the cat litter bins.
I did call Disney yesterday and I have our reservations all set up for our trip in November. Now I can really get excited and we have to decide where we want to have our meals at so I have to get Michael and Ashlie to look and see where they would like to eat.
Michael is supposed to take me to look at smart phones sometime this weekend---kind of hope it is today. But we still need to work on that bedroom!

Hi all!
Cathy, having 3 tanks of gas is probably a good idea with all the grilling Howard seems to do! Good idea to bring only what you need, lol! Are you doing the scrap booking in ME or near Joy's?

Dianne, you must be getting excited about your travelling soon! I'm not sure if I missed it, if I forgot, or if you haven't mentioned it...has DD2 found a new place to live? Does Emma have one of those "shirts" that cuddle and are supposed to help anxiety in the dogs?

Lindie, Gene must be one of those guys that freaks when it says low-cal, low-fat, low sugar, or "free" this or that on labels. J thinks they are all nasty, lol! Hope the weather cleared up a bit for you!

Terri, lots of stuff heading to the ranch! Hope they enjoy those cookies! Did you have the right sized vehicle if Steve wanted to bring that log back to the log house to dry? I hate waiting for things when you are trying to finish up a project! Hope the light comes soon!

Betsy, Mestena, "Hi!" Hope all is well!

I was finished with work quite quickly this morning, including some extra paperwork. Of course there was only the gas drawer to deal with and no repair sales. I went and opened the church, then went to the rectory to cut up the watermelon that I forgot to cut up on Wednesday. I actually thought one of the priests may have done it, but guess they weren't in the mood for watermelon, lol! Or maybe it was too much labor to cut up and clean up. emoticon Did I say that? I waited for everyone to leave the church to lock it up and then went home. I forgot to go exchange some paper plates that I picked up at BJ's yesterday...they were not a bargain! I'll do that tomorrow morning. Once I got settled at home I set up the July spreadsheets for the gas station, tried on some clothes my sister gave me, and went through some of the paperwork that Fr. Bill asked me to reorganize. Then I went to the gas station...just finished up before coming on here. Going home to make dinner. J is fishing with his brother...I hope they've already come back and his brother has headed home...I'm tired and not in the mood for company. I actually want to go to bed for the night, but it is still too early. No plans for Saturday or Sunday yet.

Have a good Friday night!

emoticon Just passing through on my way out to the ranch. Taking a few things out for the family (cookies that I baked with overripe bananas & don't need here, washed clothing left over from the last sleepover, and some empty egg cartons that I hope they will fill) and picking up a few things to bring back (some big tubs to plant these tomatoes in and more laundry if Sarah has some for me to do). We don't plan on staying out there very long this time because Mary Beth is coming over after work this evening for help with a sewing project.

Steve needs another log from the ranch to work on the basement project, so he's going to cut and peel one today and leave it to dry. I don't think he plans on bringing it home today. He's still not finished putting the ceiling in the pantry back together, but has ordered the lights for it. So, we're in limbo again on that. It's always something~

Good morning Friends, I see you are all doing well and that is great to see ! A wet and cool day here today so inside activity might be the order of the day, but not sure if it will be cleaning lol !

We also have had earth quakes off the coast of BC since Wednesday - latest one was at 5:58 am this morning off the coast - I did not feel it and the tremmors continue - plates under neith are restless I think ! The one this morning was 5.1 on the scale - no damage - Gene has an app on his phone that tells him when quakes happen.

My cousins are in Italy touring the area of Vesuvius and they climbed that vulcano - another one near by has errupted - they also toured Pom Pei and got some amazing photos - also another small town that was hit back in 79 ad - they have been sharing their pictures and I have enjoyed seeing them. Well not the skeletons that are still there ...

Dianne I like that you will leave Bob a message or note stating that you are away so he does not think he has been abandoned yet again - and perhaps a post card from a destination will be nice for him to receive in the mail. That must have been quite the work out - I am going to ride the bike and then just walk around here unless the rain lets up or Gene decides to go to walmart then I can walk in there - its no where near where we live its a good 15 minute ride away by car !

Terri, hope all is going well with the ranch and your place as well. Did you get those dust bunnies ? My daughter is giving me one of those rooba style vaccuums that can vacuum with given peramitors - I will let that get the dust bunnies under my bed lol it does not seem to matter what i use, there are more the next day, course there is construction down the street and the dump trucks with 2 beds of dirt go by several times a day and I am sure that is NOT helping ... I hope you have a good gathering of the family this next weekend.

Cathy, don't you have carrying bins for your scrap booking ? Actually it would make sense not to take what Joy might already have with her - We have been cool and rain all week and next week too - its ok by me as I prefer cool. I would not be able to handle that heat at all!

Anne glad you had a quiet day as we need that from time to time. Any plans for the weekend ?

Something funny - I bought fat free creamer this time and put it in the fridge - Gene pulled it out this morning, came to the door of my room and asked, "what is this "? I looked at it and said, healthier cream LOL He was not too happy he wanted his fat cream - well he barely uses it ... So I suggested he go buy some.

A friend gave me a muu-muu - hawaian dress - and its yellow and green and not something I would buy based on pattern at first glance. I tried it on and it fit well and looked good so I took it to the seamstress for her to remove 5 inches of fabric and then hem it - that will make it mid calf. I pick that up on Monday. I looked them up online and saw some amazing muu-muus I would like to have ... lol

Morning! I have been to the gym--did a HITT workout--those are hard. I just modified exercises so I could do them.

DD1 and SIL didn't feel the earthquake but they were driving around Lake Tahoe at the time and concentrating so much on the nutty drivers! They are heading home--will sleep in their own bed tonight and see the cats--I don't know if the cats will "speak" to them or not after being gone so long. DD1 runs a 35 mile race on Saturday--she is officially nuts.

Terri--glad Steve is making progress and you two got to stay at home for a bit. A get-together next week sounds good. I know people are leaving CA but more are still moving in--Google and Facebook and the other big places are hiring. I do hope DD1 and SIL can sell their place when they want to leave.

Cathy--we have a 2nd bottle--can't see the need for a 3rd! But hubby does refill as soon as one is empty. Congrats on having so much done! That is great!

DD2 was dog-sitting this week--she did give Emma half a pill yesterday cause there were some booms and she was getting anxious. DD2 had to work so she moves back to her place today after work--hopefully work will close early since VERY few folks were even coming in. Someone had to feed the birds anyway so she saw no reason to use a vacation day.

Betsy--my folks' roof hasn't been touched--too much rain! So of course it is still leaking. I hope they can get to it sometime--likely while we are there. It will be interesting with no living room for that visit! My friend's wife isn't sure she is ready to tackle his office--so I may not be able to help with that but there are other things. I fly into Chicago Wed.

Anne and Lindie--hope you are doing okay!

Anne, we have 3 tanks of gas at our house so Dh won't run out of gas when cooking---LOL---he gets worried if he doesn't have a spare handy so when he has to put the 3rd one on, he has to have those 2 refilled immediately. Glad you got to enjoy your deck. It did cool down when we had a bit of rain---enough that Dh could cook burgers on the grill.
Dianne, sad that something as simple as a headband has to be ordered online and have to pay shipping on top of the price. I agree---nice to see them but have not worth fighting crowds and being hot.
Terri, did you feel the earthquake up there? Saw on the news that they expect a larger one to hit soon after this one. Do you all have emergency plans up there? At least here we get warnings if a hurricane is coming so we can prepare. Did Steve get that wall up or just a good start on it? Did you have to help any? Hope no dust bunnies attacked you while cleaning the dust and cobwebs.
I did clean the bathroom yesterday. Everything cleared off the shelves and dusted and wiped down the walls and the shelves and the stuff on them. Only thing left in the floor and figured I would do that the day before I leave as I know Dh won't do that while I am gone. LOL
Did warn Dh that today we are tackling his side of the bedroom today. Once that is done I can start getting stuff together to take on my vacation. We are going to a scrap book day at least once while I am up there so I need to get some stuff out to take with me but not taking all my stuff--so it will take me a while to sort thru papers and assorted other stuff so I have it with me. Some stuff I can borrow from Joy, so some things I will leave at home---have way too much stuff to cart up there with me---LOL
Stay cool and hydrated.

Hi all!
Terri, hope Steve got much done and that you conquered the cobwebs & dust bunnies!

Dianne, hope you enjoyed your book!

We had a quiet day. We did have to go to get gas for the grill. It was hot out, but by the end of the day it was quite comfortable! We had dinner on the deck and sat out there for over an hour!

Off to work!

Good morning and Happy Independence Day! We don't have any special plans for the day and will probably stay home and work around here. The hay baler is down at the ranch and we're waiting on a part to repair it, so that work is on hold. Steve is building the wall to close in the basement today to try to finish up that job. Not sure if it will be done today or not, but he's got it started--and I need to clean house because we've been gone so much that the dust and cobwebs are starting to take over. There aren't supposed to be any fireworks in our area because of the fire danger, so I hope no one is foolish enough to try that--and Rosie would be very grateful not to have to hide in the closet tonight.

Our SIL asked if we could plan a family BBQ next Saturday here at the log house to celebrate his and gs Tim's birthdays (the 6th & 7th) so we'll be having our family get-together then. I think the kids are feeling like every time we gather may be the last now that the decision has been made to sell the house and Jenny's family has moved to the coast.

Someone mentioned that the housing market in CA has soured some. I'm not sure about that, but wouldn't be surprised with the way things are going. People are SO mad about so many of the policies coming out of Sacramento, the taxes, the waste (corruption, IMO), etc--that they are moving out of state. In our area, houses had been priced out of reach for the average family because of the marijuana growers who were illegally selling their legally-grown "medicinal" plants and had bags of cash in hand. I'm not sure if, or where things will adjust to in the housing market now that it's been legalized and is supposedly regulated. Time will tell.

Betsy, even if you didn't get to attend the wedding of your alumnus, it was nice that you bumped into them and got to catch up a little. Did you get the lawn tractor ordered? Is your lawn getting high while you wait or do you have a different way to mow in the meantime? How did PT go? Is your back better?

Dianne, Cathy and Anne, I hope you can all stay cool and comfortable today and stay out of the traffic. I'm with Dianne regarding the fireworks--we enjoy watching them but wouldn't go far to watch them at this point. It's more fun when you have little kids to share it with, but at this age we've BTDT enough. Besides, it traumatizes Rosie so it's best if we stay home so we can calm her if the neighbors decide to "celebrate" with explosives.

Too funny that you're just now learning that your DH doesn't care for ravioli, Dianne. Good idea to leave a note for Bob if he tends to be forgetful. Maybe you could send him a postcard from Vancouver before you sail. Would he enjoy getting something like that in the mail? I'm glad you enjoyed the books but I don't think I could handle reading the one about trafficking. I have 8 granddaughters and 2--soon 3--great granddaughters and it just turns my stomach to think about the level of depravity involved. I know it's not only girls and women, but they are still the most vulnerable. Jenny is involved with a group that takes an educational program into the local schools to help equip kids to keep themselves safe. There's never a week that goes by that there's not a new face on FB of a missing child.

Time for this girl to get busy and do something productive. I hope you all have a pleasant and restful day.

Happy 4th! We did sleep in--really felt good! Went out for breakfast--just to take advantage of the day. Stopped at 2 stores to find sweatbands for hubby--he ended up ordering on-line. I did get a pair of sandals at Kohl's -- had $5 off and 20% off and they were on sale. I am afraid the pair I have been wearing will fall apart so I'll take the new ones on vacation. Now--home for a quiet day.

Cathy--isn't quite that hot here but we are hanging around home. I will get out to walk--I am trying to hit 7K steps AND get some exercise. I hope you have a good day. Love having the EZ pass--we will take one with us to WI to use on the one toll road that we have to travel. Always keep the little bag it comes in!

Anne--glad they got the mold--and Rich will take care of the rest. That can be really bad if you are susceptible to it.

Terri--DD1 and SIL will be leaving Oregon today, I think to drive home. Hope the end of their vacation goes better than the first day! Good luck with all the work you are doing.

Betsy--I am sorry it is still raining. WI is just soaking wet! My folks haven't gotten the roof started cause the forecast never gives no rain for 3-4 days in a row. My brother did a motorcycle trip around the US side of Lake Superior--enjoyed all the waterfalls and had a great time--and no rain on them.

Lindie--hi!

So--back to my book. I am reading "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr. Pretty good. Just finished "A Walk Across the Sun" by Corban Addison--about human trafficking. Really good but a disturbing subject--wasn't based on any one factual incident but is based on real instances. (Got the hardcover book at a garage sale for 40 cents--was well worth it.)

emoticon emoticon Happy Independence Day!

Cathy, I hope his appointment is when you are around...extra ears and questions! I love the EZ Pass! Try to stay cool.

Betsy, how did PT go? Did he/she help with your back? When will the new tractor come?

Dianne, great thinking to leave the note for Bob! Maybe his daughter will come while you are away...he will have a visitor then! Do not blame you for not going to the NYC! I have driving through there when travelling South!

Terri, Lindie, & Mestena...Hope all is well!

Yesterday I managed to get everything done that needed to be done, including cleaning those hallway closet floors! The HVAC but cut out most of the ceiling and insulation, so I think the mood has been removed. Rich plans on removing the rest of the piece of sheetrock that the mood was on, so it won't grow back.
I wanted to sleep in, but nope! Instead I am awake listening to the birds at 4:30! I think one was on the chimney because it sounded like a window was open...and none are! I did force myself to remain in bed until 6:30...it was hard!
No plans for the day, so it will be interesting to see what comes up.

Stay cool and safe!

Anne

Betsy, lunch sounds nice but not the mammogram. Will they deliver the lawn tractor? Guessing your day went long and you had to go pick up your Dh at work.
Dianne, good idea to write it down for Bob so he won't think you deserted him. Dh asked me if I wanted something the other day and just looked at him---we have been married for 41 years and he didn't know I don't like what ever it was? Bet he never told you before that he didn't like them. I had told dh that I didn't like whatever it was though.
Dh has to see a urologist now---but think he will just have to take another medicine or 2 after looking up his symptoms. But I do hope that the appointment is before I leave or in August when I am home so I can go.
Shots in the knees were painful but not as bad as the hips. Knees feel so much better this morning. Didn't do much in the house yesterday as we ran some errands in the afternoon and the heat just zapped me. Heat index over 100 yesterday and today will be a repeat. We will either go out to get burgers or I will fix something inside---too hot to ask Dh to cook burgers in this heat. It was hard to breathe outside yesterday.
Michael is supposed to come by at some time to put in my Easy Pass in my car window.. I think I will tackle the bathroom today after I take my shower.

So I visited Bob and made a new recipe for dinner--and hubby tells me he doesn't like ravioli. We have been married almost 40 years and NOW he tells me? So--won't make this recipe for him again!

We should have great 4th of July weather here--hot and humid so beaches will be crowded. I guess it was awful trying to get out of NYC today--trouble with the tunnel so the buses were all backed up and cars even worse. I don't go into the city for reasons like that!

Hope to connect with you all tomorrow!

Morning! I am off to the dentist but just wanted to say hi in case I forget to get back here! Nothing much planned--yes, Bob knows when I'll be away but I will write it down for him again. No sign of his daughter yet.

We have hot and humid today but shouldn't be as humid tomorrow--we'll see. No fireworks in our town and we aren't going to drive to find any. We know what they look like. LOL

Terri, we do plan to use our peach "jam" as ice cream or pancake topping. DD1 will also put it in her oatmeal. I don't know what went wrong, sigh. We knew we have had trouble in the past so at least we only made six jars.

DH is almost ready so I only have a minute. I am taking him to work so I can get a mammogram and then hopefully have time to order the lawn tractor before I go to my PT appointment. After that I am going to lunch with a friend who wants to share her "buy one get one half off" coupon.

Have a great day! If my back cooperates, I will be back this afternoon.

Wow, Anne, you were up early and on the go. Hope you get everything done at the rectory that you want to get done. Not surprised you have to work Friday---most retail places are open---afterall, the 4th is not really on a weekend day. Our governor decided to make Friday a government holiday so people could have a really long weekend, otherwise they would have to take a vacation day if they wanted off. That was a surprise for everyone that works for the government. I guess he wants everyone to go to Ocean City for the weekend----LOL Woohoo to the win at the Casino. Betting J wants to go again on Friday and will lose it all there. Or maybe he wants to get that truck on Friday. Did he find what he wanted when you looked the other day? Howard loves his F150 but it is a single cab with extended bed---too long for me to drive and too big, too. His is a 2002 and just last year was the first time we had any major repairs to do on it.
Dianne, that makes sense to not pay for a membership when you won't be around that much. Luckily I can just add on to the end of my time with the time I miss when being gone. They don't keep track---but we are supposed to. I can't go in the pool today after my knee shots so that is one day I will add on. Plus I will probably miss 3 weeks with my vacation. Nice that you visited Bob. Does he know that you will be away and won't be coming to see him?
Betsy, sorry to hear about your back. Did the pt person work on it? Too bad the timing for that visit won't suit your Dh. I can understand not wanting to go without him.
Terri, glad you didn't stay as long this time at the ranch. Both of you need to pace yourself there and not overdo. It must have been really noticeable if the neighbors are already making comments on how much better it looks. They were not good neighbors to the others in that area to let it get so rundown. How does the livestock like their new home?
Man, my bedroom was really dusty. It's a wonder the dust bunnies didn't carry me away---LOL I dropped something behind my nightstand and had to move it out---oh, my, the dust back there. I only really cleaned my side of the room yesterday---still need to tackle some of the other side but want dh to get in there to help with that. I also need to make him get rid of some clothes in his bureau---he never wears anything in there but his socks and underwear, so some of it can go, then he can have room for clothes he has piled on top of it. I did wash all the curtains and rugs in there and vacuumed the rug on that side, so really only have about a third of it to work on and I can tell it is really dusty over there, too. I haven't decided whether I will take everything out of the closet and clean in there. I did do that earlier in the school year when Dh put in new rods.
Just the bathroom to do after I finish the bedroom, then I need to gather stuff together for my trip to Joy's.
Dh has a prostrate test today with a full bladder---not going to be fun for him as he has to go way too often---then I have shots in my knees---we both might not want to do much this afternoon.
Have a good Wednesday.

Hi all!
Terri, I wonder if anyone has any pictures of what the ranch looked like with all the debris around. It would be best to have before us, when purchased, as we clean, and we are finally settled in pictures!

Betsy, I hope your back feels better! Do those core exercises! Glad you were able to visit your friend. Sorry the son is having such a small wedding that you are not on the guest list. Bummer DH has to work and can not attend the get together!

Dianne, nice that you got to see Bob. Has his daughter ever come in? Is he still mad at his son about the lack of gifts on Fathers Day?

Cathy, Lindie...are you lost in cleaning?

Lindie, Happy Canada Day, 2 days late!

I finally got the clothing Fr. B asked me to send him packaged up, but was interrupted so it did not get into the mail. Task for today! I is miffed because I have to work at the station on Friday and he has the day off. I'm actually bummed, but not mad about it. That is retail for you! I do have Friday off at the rectory...so I have a lot to do there today, including a grocery run! Heading to work now!

Have a great Wednesday!

Anne

We didn't stay as long as we have been, but Steve was able to pick up several piles of pruning and old wood decking and fencing that Sarah and I have made. Every time we meet up with a neighbor, we hear how beautiful the place is looking and how it hasn't looked like this in decades (since the previous occupants took it over); however, we haven't really done anything more than clean up and mow. Most of the garbage and dump stuff came from inside the barn, but I guess there was quite a bit out in the yard too, and visible as people drive by.

Betsy, what's wrong with your peach jam? Is it not setting up? I've had that same problem with peach and apricot jams, but have found that I can easily "sell" them as ice cream topping. Just a thought.

Now we're off to bed. See you in the morning~

Cathy, we have beaches all over, just no ocean! There are beaches in the city, county and state parks. Minnesota is billed as the land of 10,000 lakes but it is a fact that WI has more lakes than Minnesota. I like the sand area large so children can have their own space and not be as worried about someone crushing their sand castle or whatever they are creating. I would also like to put a Little Tikes play structure ion there instead of on the grass. Malachi drove his motorcycle after drinking too much and spanked her, that's enough for me to keep her away from him. She did come to church with us and he wasn't there. She still goes to church, she just joined a different one that is actually closer to our home. Yesterday DH and I finally attempted a small batch of peach jam again and it still didn't work, grrr! We will try ONE more time and this time we will crush the peaches instead of cutting them into bits. If that doesn't work, we are done and we'll stick to our raspberry peach or raspberry, two favorites. We also went to visit our friend with cancer and just missed their adult son , one of my alumni. He is getting married in a barn near Wausau this week and then I'm sure he'll honeymoon and head back to his place in Nashville,TN. We were disappointed but understood that they have planned a small wedding so we were not invited. We are invited to Waupaca on Saturday as DH's brother from OK and his wife will be staying with another BIL
but the invitation was for any time after two and DH has to be at the park by 4 :(. I haven't decided if I'm going or not yet, it's not as much fun without DH.

I know I promised to catch up today but my back decided to shift out of place last night so sitting for long periods of time is not a great idea. I do have PT for my shoulder tomorrow and if it's still bad, I'll see if he'll treat the back instead, sigh. I WILL catch up someday...

I'm on the fly again, so will catch up with the chat later. We're off to the ranch again to deliver Sarah's Amazon order (delivered here this morning), take her some more gas for the lawnmower (she's mowing her lawn and ours), take out a window that we've decided we don't want (brand new to replace one of hers that's broken), and take out the 4 loads of laundry I brought home last night. Since the boys have been staying there with their parents, she's got a ton of laundry and no machines hooked up yet.

I hope all is well with all here~

Morning! I have been to the gym--did weight lifting class. I will stop going to the gym on July 10 until sometime in Sept, most likely--no reason to pay when I'll be gone so much so went on vacation "hold".

Yesterday I did visit Bob--didn't get much else done. I found stuff in the upstairs freezer that I had forgotten about so we have been eating that--I need to cook today! I get sweet corn in the farm share so we will likely have that tonight--it was likely picked yesterday (maybe this AM but likely yesterday).

Anne--you have been busy--too bad we couldn't connect. We will--I just don't know when! Sounds like you got a little time for yourself--good! Pick up trucks are expensive--I hope you can find something that isn't too pricey.

Cathy--you are a whirlwind! I just don't have the oomph to clean. I will if I can get sorting.

Betsy and Terri and Lindie and Mare--hi!

Betsy, lots of play sand, lots of fun! Did DD2 go to church with you? That was a quick visit by DS & Simonne! Any special fun plans for your time off? Can you go online to check out the jury information?

Dianne, sorry you will have to break your streak while away. Once I broke mine a couple of years ago, I just don't care any more about streaks! Hope the doctor will be able to take care of that cataract for your DH!

Cathy, you are moving right along with all that cleaning. Good for you getting Howard to assist! Is he grumbling because he doesn't want to do it or he's exerting energy? You must be getting excited about getting together with Joy!

Terri, best wishes for Anna. I hope her bf/husband (didn't retain what he is) will get more comfortable with your family and more responsible in general!

Lindie, I agree with you about not paying for cigarettes for your sister! I think I could use orthotic in my shoes since I tend to wear them down on one side more.

We did have some fun over the weekend. We went to a nearby casino and enjoyed a nice late lunch/early dinner, then played on the machines. I left J at the poker machines and walked around and popped on a machine here and there. When I got back, J was up. It took me a while to get him to move along. He went to another machine on the way out and it played very nicely with him. We ended up coming home with an addition $500! Yay! Sunday we went truck shopping...booo! Now he wants a 2017/2018 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Lariat! He's going to drive me to drink over this truck, lol! Yesterday I had breakfast with my older sister and ended up losing the morning and early afternoon due to how long we yakked! It was good, but I ended up not getting a lot of things I had intended done. I did force myself to take care of a few things instead of going to lie down for a nap, lol! Today I need to get Fr. B's alb and a few other things he asked me for into the mail. Until J gets a vehicle, I can't drive down to see him. If I could have I would have driven those items down and stopped to see Dianne! Oh well...maybe later in the summer we can make that happen!

Time to get ready for Mass and work at the rectory. I've already finished my work at the gas station.

Have a great day!

Anne

Living room is done. And Dh did his stuff but had to be prompted to dust. It sure looks a lot better around his chair. But you all should have heard his grunts and sighs. Lol
Dianne, I have water aerobics tonight but won't be able to go on Wednesday did to shots in my knees.

Morning! I got to the gym--great workout today in the water. Last night's concert was very nice--we didn't stay till the end cause hubby isn't seeing well in the dark and didn't want to be walking with all the other people. Last year it was beastly hot--this year I should have taken a light jacket! Wonderful!! And the music was great--played some Duke Ellington and some lovely pieces by Mexican and South American composers. They just said the names so I don't recall.

Cathy--I will be "around" for July but will miss at least a week here in August--my long log-in streak will be broken when we go on the cruise. DD1 says WiFi is $$ and we won't pay for it. I am sure you are looking forward to your time with Joy.

Lindie--I do have orthotics in a couple of pairs of shoes but they are not a requirement. I just need to find a place that carries the shoes I want so I can see what style I want. I do hate buying shoes!

Not sure what I am going to get at today--likely NOT cleaning! LOL

This chat is for 2 months since I will probably still be in PA at the start of August or just home from there.
Betsy, maybe you should put a barrier up and make that sand area a bit smaller so it takes less sand. Glad the kids are about the age to be able to use it again. Hope you had a lovely time at the brunch. Where was the water at that they wanted to go swimming at? I didn't realize that you were close to any beach. Just wondering if something more happened with Malachi that she is not telling you. Remind her that she is letting him win if she stops going to church there because of him. Hope you all did something fun together yesterday and today.
Dianne, glad your duet went well. Guessing you are not really happy with the combined services. Attendance does drop in the summer time but it's hard for some people to change their time schedule like that. I have seen raised beds that have fencing around them on Hometalk that are pretty cool. But since you hope to move in a few years, probably not worth all the effort and work to set them up. I picked 24 grape tomatoes when I got home from church but the squash was not ready.
Lindie, do you feel that the orthotics are helping? Reagann has some now----but she came over wearing non-supportive flip flops the other week. I am sure she won't wear them very often this summer so doubt they will help with her issue---have no idea why she needs them---they don't tell and I don't ask. Good idea to tell your sister not to plan on a raise until it happens. I think I get another step this year but I will see what it is in my first paycheck of the new school year. Then I think I won't get one for a couple of years after that or not at all if I retire----LOL
Terri, guessing you are tired and/or busy.
Anne, did you do anything fun over the weekend?
Lazy day yesterday but did tell Dh that today I start in the living room and he is expected to go thru his junk around his chair and get rid or better organize it. It is a small hoarding spot---LOL I did go thru magazines yesterday and that pile has been bagged up and ready for a few things by Dh's chair, then can be taken out for the recycle run.
Have a lovely start to July!
