Hang in there Jenn. I have very low white blood cell counts- all well below the lowest range of normal. I hear you as far as symptoms. Stay in touch.

Hugs
Nancy

Hi Allie- Yes, I am gluten intolerant.

I have also have had a chronic low WBC. This last test, I was on the low end of normal. All of my labs are ok except for the wonderful CD57 count. I see my doctor on June 14 to see how things are going. Well, I can tell you that it all sucks! I don't think there is a part of my body that doesn't hurt, I could sleep all day and I swear if I could talk in a complete sentence that would be wonderful. haha!!

Hi:

Allie is Epicor a supplement??
I also have a low white blood cell count. Have either of you had that??

CD 57 has to do with the strength of you natural killer cells- part of your immune system. Jen: That is a low number. It is also a gauge for how well Lyme treatments are helping you. If the count does not go up eventually supposidly it means the lyme is still there. My doc says in order to not have a relapse CD 57 should be 160 or higher.

Mine is 82 but I still have horrid symptoms , fatigue, pain and neurological.

Hugs to you both. Hang in there
Nancy

Are you gluten intolerant? Your gut is a huge part of your immune system. As much as you can stay away from food allergens ( i developed lots of food allergies from Lyme so have to be careful). I've also found eating coconut oil and eating low carb/higher fat diet helps immensely. A great probiotic like Therelac helps the gut/immunity as well. I'm feeling much better (basically cured these days) but still working on getting that number up. My doc has me taking Epicor. It's helps immunity--so you don't get colds, etc. It worked for me over the winter not one cold! Good luck with it. I hope you're feeling better soon! Keep in touch!

I read that under 20 is severe and I am awefully close. I eat a vegetarian diet and have been non compliant with my gluten free diet. I am on Zithromax 500 Tondamax and grapefruit seed. I haven't been taking my supplements lately because it has been very overwhelming. This is my 3rd round of treatment. My pain has been horrible this week.

That number is very low (mine is 32 and it concerns my doc). Normal is over 150 or 200 I think. Over 100 is the number to shoot for. Immune system support is essential for low numbers like ours. I take/eat whey protein and take immune support supplements.Im due to get retested when I see my doc again in September.

Does anyone understand the CD57 results. I got mine back and at 22. Though I should understand these numbers, I find it confusing.
