I went to Curves today for my weigh-in and measurements. I was very happy to see that I have lost 3 pounds and inches as well. Yay!! I noticed that my slacks were feeling loose around my abs. That is an area I really struggle with. But it has decreased so I am on my way. I did clean some clutter earlier but that is the extent of my work so far today.

Linda - you have been busy! I always buy the skin on salmon also. We had some last night for dinner. It is really good.

My Thursday was also a busy day and a good day! I got the 2nd half of the backyard fertilized and watered the whole thing and mowed the front yard and put down the ironite and fertilizer and weed killer and now it's being watered in. I didn't get much done inside and still have some time...have to give my little Grace a bath and haircut...her summer cut and she'll look like she's lost half her body weight...only wished it worked that way for me!! I hate to cut off her hair..she has turned into such a beautiful little bichon and her cut is just perfect...but she needs too much maintenance for summer and it will be cooler. It will make her look like a puppy again. And I'm sure it will be cooler for her. Her brother already got his summer cut. He could use a bath but that will wait for another day. So when I finish the dog puff up I'll get all my dishes done up and clean out the frig and haul out the bags of garbage. Had a ton of fun with the 27 Fling Boogie today...when I came in to get a drink of water and cool off I grabbed a garbage bag and went to work. Still lots left to do but I'll keep plugging away at it. I didn't get my window a/c in. Didn't get a path cleared so I could hook it up but after I finish shining my sink it's next on the list...and surely will create more garbage and a few more boxes of books to donate. Need to borrow a pick-up so I can haul stuff to a consignment shop and to the salvation army. Have to do a big furniture exchange so hopefully my friend will take my stacking w/d to an auction she's working this weekend. If not guess it will go to the consignment shop. I just can't deal with people calling and coming over to look at stuff. I thought using the internet auction site would be okay but still haven't posted a single thing to it. That might be a better place to start with the washer/dryer. So if my friend really doesn't want to take it to the auction I guess I could do that too. Too many decisions. But had a great food day. Had eggs and some incredible pink grapefruit for breakfast and made wonderful salmon and a mix of steamed broc/cauli & carrot stix and drained them and added in this wonderful citrus vinaigrette. Was really tasty. Just ate another chunk of the salmon cold. I should have cooked more because it's really nice salmon...got the skin-on wild caught at WalMart. 2 lb. bag for $6. The skin-on stays so much moister during cooking and then peel it off and dice it up for the dogs! Got in my stretching tape this morning and will do the yoga before bed. Another late night but feels great to be productive and staying on track with my eating and my fitness and my clutter-clearing.

I'm doing better and my favorite thing is the 27 Fling Boogie. I want to get rid of the CHAOS before 8/18 as I turn 55 that day and want to invite people over for dinner to celebrate. No one has been inside my house in over 3 years. It's so much easier and more fun to work outside in the garden and the yard. I am working on not feeling so overwhelmed and trying that old fake it til you make it attitude..and thanks to all of you and to Flylady e-mails...although I know I am spending too much time on my tracking and reading blogs and huddles and trying to figure out this site when I could be working on getting rid of the clutter. But there is light at the end of the tunnel and I honestly feel like I will be able to accomplish this goal. In fact I am going to put it in my tracker just to help keep me motivated and honest! emoticon

Thank you, Linda.

I had a good day. I did have too many calories but I don't feel too bad because I was so low a couple of days this week. Hubby and I went to a movie this afternoon and afterwards a large lunch. It was fun. I hope you are having a great week.

Well, the weekend is here. Although I don't work outside the home anymore. I still enjoy weekends. Today I went to Curves and took a short walk outdoors. Pretty day. My neice did have her baby and although she did have a safe delivery...the doctors were right. He does have heart problems and will, within the year, have a open heart surgery. Pray for her, her hubby and baby please!

Just another day....a pretty good one though. I woke up this morning with a phone call from DD2. Afterwards I played a game on the computer and then took a shower. I went to Curves and saw that they are selling a patriotic tee shirt for July 4th. I am a sucker for that so I ordered one. I had made an appointment to get my nails done so I did that as well. I walked home, and yes it was hot at 90 and high humidity. Next will be a bit of clean up,

I just posted a recipe for Linda's Crack Slaw and would appreciate it if any of you that are interested in a quick, easy low-carb stir-fry would check it out and rate it. Thanks! I got my sink shined and my frig cleaned out for all the new veggies to prep for this week. Still not wearing shoes!

I had a pretty good weekend with exercise. I went into the pool Saturday and Sunday. I also took a short walk each day.I did not have a lot of flying to do because we were out of town and I had cleaned before we left. Swish and swipe was pretty much all I had to do...but in the next couple of days things may change.

I'm starting to do a few things to get ready for MIL's stay here. Hubby came downstairs to the den today to tell my son and me that he wanted things clean while his mother is here. I said in my stage whisper voice, "Hire a housekeeper!" Being the smart man that he is, he actually agreed to do it and without even fussing about it. Yay! I'll still have plenty to do even with help, but that'll help lighten the load.

Also, I called my daughter and talked to her about shipping her stuff to her. (It's in the closet that MIL will be using.) We've got a video Skype appointment on Wednesday to go through her stuff so we're not shipping stuff she doesn't need anymore. So I'm moving forward on getting the room ready, too.

Good morning everyone,
My son helped me this week clean the bathroom, dinning room and the kitchen. We still have some work to do on both the bathroom and kitchen. But I figure that by the time school starts in August we will have the house pretty much in better shape.

I told my trainer this week that I would like to meet or beat my 5% goal of 10.90 pounds by July 4th. She weighed me and said that I only have 4.5 pounds left to lose. She said that is attainable. To start drinking half my weight in water and the pounds will start melting off.

Yesterday I was ready to start working out and my 13 year old son asked if he could join me. I told him sure. That would be wonderful. This morning after breakfast I'm going to work out with the biggest loser again.

Monday I have an appointment the dietician to evaluate what I'm eating and suggest alternatives with summer here.

Hope everyone has a great weekend if I don't see you around tomorrow.

emoticon

Hi Fly Ladies!!!!

This is my first time posting although I have been a member for a while. Unfortunately health problems have made things hard for me. Legs don't work like they should and I use two canes or a walker to get around. I've known about FlyLady for a long time but it has been hard to implement her rules........but before I was down with the sciatica and back probIems, I did get rid of a lot of stuff......and I mean a lot. Oh well I'll chat for a little while.

I rode with my daughter to my "old" house that we lived in before we moved into our brick ranch. I wish I hadn't gone. It was a little four room house that I kept up so nice and decorated eclectically. But the man who bought it rented it out and it was ruined and abandoned. I just could not believe someone would do that. I talked to two of the neighbors and they said that the man who bought/owned the house rented it to bad people. They told me that the side of the house that was all black was where they had a METH LAB that blew up......so that was the end of my little four room house. Very depressing to see it so we went down and took pictures of my Mom's house we we used to live. Much better.

Thankfully God sent us to this small town to live in the NW corner of South Carolina. It's clled Easley and is between Greenville (bigger town) and Clemson (home of the Clemson Tigers).. So I am very thankfu. We have a new super Walmart, a new Marshalls, a new Kohls, Petsmart, Tractor supply......and further down a Belks Dept. store and Penneys. So we are growing in a good way.

I'm so tired. Tomorrow I"ll tell you looking for a recliner that fits my son. He is tall and none of them fit him. Very depressing. That's one thing I waned to get for the kids (23 & 25) to sit in while one is on sofa so we can be "family" and watch movies together. He, Robbie, has alot of back pain and the had an MRI that showed some wierd stuff so that doctor is sending him to a specialist.

Got to go take a shower if I can find the strength. I'm all pooped out today.

See ya later.

As it turns out, my mother-in-law's health issues have pretty much the same cause as what I went through last year. It seems that a doctor prescribed Zoloft to her when she complained of restless legs. She had problems with nausea, but she also developed blood pressure issues. I was thinking about it and made the connection. I even found an FDA publication that made the connection. I tell you, I have less and less faith in conventional medicine all the time. I've been wrapping up the mystery shopping gigs I had already committed to and not taking more so that I can get to the heavy cleaning I need to do before my mother-in-law gets here. I'm definitely going to need my routines as I prepare.

Thanks for the Anniversary wishes.

I went bowling today with my son. We had fun while there. The owner came over to us and told me that Robert missed the first week of the summer bowling league. I told her that Robert loves to bowl but not with kids that are going to cuss. She told me that none of the kids here does that. I told her that two did and I was not happy and you weren't here. Your son was.

With the water park opening in three weeks Robert wants to go swimming and cannot do both. Next week is band camp and then one week after that is church camp. She said that Robert can prebowl for those two weeks. I said we will have to think about it. She pulled Robert aside and talked to him while I was bowling. When it was his turn to bowl, Robert said that he would like to bowl during the summer league. I told Robert that I would have to think about it. Because it hurt my feelings to called a name that is insulting to women. The league isn't what it used to be. It used to be a good Christian center where you could go and have a good time with friends. Now it's about making as much money as possible.

Came back and cleaned house all afternoon until dinner time.

I hope everyone has a good evening with whatever you do.

Things just got interesting. I just found out today that my mother-in-law will be coming to live with us, at least for a time. She's had some additional health issues lately, and hubby wants to have her nearby. I've got some decluttering to do by the end of the month. I'll also be bringing in a cleaning crew just before she gets here.

Iím doing well lately. I seem to have finally recovered from a medication error from November of last year. I had tried Cymbalta to help deal with some aches I was having, but I quickly developed very high blood pressure and an increased heart rate. That was just unacceptable, and I was on the lowest dose of the stuff that they make. Since one canít just stop an anti-depressant cold turkey, I had to go through a withdrawal process that involved splitting doses for a couple of weeks. I slept a LOT while all this was going on and decreasingly so for some months afterward. But now Iíve got my energy back, and Iím working my routines again. Yay!

Sharon: Happy anniversary!

GOOD EVENING EVERYONE,
Today was my 17th Wedding Anniversary. The day started out emoticon with my son and husband singing the Bryan Adams hit Everything I do I'll do it for you and then sung the Beatles hit when I'm 64. My son is in choir and can carry a tune but my husband can't. But I still enjoyed it though. Then my son went in to the kitchen and made us breakfast. Which was real thoughtful. I went out and got us lunch. Then tonight my husband brought supper. He said that he didn't want me to cook.

I have written a blog about our first week as a couple and also put a picture of what we looked like then if anyone is interested.

I hope everyone has a good evening with whatever you do.

It is nice to take time to relax but I need to "get in gear" also and deliver items to our church yard sale.

Today started out well. Sharing coffee with hubby and DD2. Now I have gotten on the computer to just play around and it has been two hours. Uhhh, I think I had better get off soon and actually do some work around the house, exercise and just get moving. I hope that you all have a fantastic Friday!!

GINGERPAWZ, good for you...dont let them sabotage you and say how good they are. Imagine a donut size ring of fat near your belly....you made the right choice!

I have a new way to deal with cravings. If I serve the kids dessert, I start to salivate. I worry I will give in to a craving. So, I allow myself one teaspoon if it is something like ice cream or one fork full. That way, no guilt, I know I get to have it, I savor it, and I don't end up guility devouring more later!

yesterday after church there was a church picnic. I know I told the Mom of the kids I babysit (I help the Dad who has had a stroke-parents divorced) about the picnic but she said if she knew she would have sent the kids in tennis shoes not flip flops. Oh well the kids had fun anyway

I'm proud of myself today. My husband sent me out to the store for DOUGHNUTS. I'm happy to say that I didn't have one of them. My son told me that I embarrassed him. The doughnuts had a sign that said 12 for $4.50. They rung up nearly 8 dollars. I told the cashier and she returned them and it said 6.60. I told her no that the sign said 4.50. She brought over the csm and asked how Robert was. I said good. Pat said the customers are always right. I said Sam Walton slogan. Robert said that I was cheap and that he wasn't going with me again.

On the way home though I nearly had a n accident. A car was backing up on me and wasn't going to stop for anything. I laid on the horn and she stopped backing up. I don't like people you do ugly things. She flipped us off and ran a stop sign.

My husband and son was telling me how good the doughnuts were and that I should have one. I guess the goals are staying true.

Today I went to church. I also got in a walk. I cleaned underneath one of the bathroom sinks. Oh my, there was a lot of JUNK under there. In some cases I found a few things that I was happy to "rediscover".

Good afternoon everyone,
Yesterday I went to the fitness center and worked out on the treadmill and the weight machines for a total of 96 minutes.

Thanks Linda. I'm glad that I live in the river valley. My house has only been hit three times once in 1980, 1984 and 2011.

Today I went to church and served in the cafe. It was hard today because we were giving out chocolate covered doughnuts and regular doughnuts. Temptation was present tapping me on the shoulder saying you know that you want one. My co worker told me that one won't hurt and you have a whole week to work it off.

Hope everyone has a good day with whatever you do today and have fun with it.

Geeze Sharon, you sure did have a crazy time last week. Is Robert a teenager? Thank goodness my kids are all grown up and my grandkids are better than their Fathers were. At least I think so. Being a Grandmother is a lot easier than being a Mother. Congrats on your award. Wow!

We were lucky with the rain yesterday. Got a lot of it but no damage. I hear that they had another tornado Friday night in Oklahoma. 9 dead or so the paper said. I'm so glad I live on the side of a mountain. Most of the bad weather goes right around us.

Hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday and can rest up to tackle next week.

WOW Sharon - you sound like the definition of Super Mom. I don't know what else you do but that sounds like a lot.

The Fly Habit for the month is to drink water. Marla said that we need to talk with our doctors about how much and to drink. I know she sells those stainless steel bottles but I want to hear - how do you drink your water and what do you put it in.

Personally I was reusing fast food cups and water bottles that I bought while I was out running around. When I got the job I have now I bought myself a 32 ounce bottle with a screw cap. At home my goal is to drink at least a glass after I go to the bathroom. At work I drive a school bus and I take my bottle out with me on my bus routes. On hot days I finish my bottle during my routes and refill it from the water cooler on base.

HUGZ

Hoping everyone in OK and MO are safe and sound. It finally stopped raining here in Clarksville. Sorry I haven't been around this week.

This last week of school has been time consuming. On Monday my son told me that my husband of 17 years didn't love me anymore. Last year my son had told his counselor that my husband had been hitting me. She confronted me and told me to get out with Robert before I get hurt. I told her that my husband has never laid a hand on me in 17 years. I said that Robert doesn't like his father and doesn't want to live under the same roof. But why should I leave a home that was left to me from my late mother.

So Tuesday my son had one semester test. So I took him to the fitness center with me and he came to me while I was working out with my trainer and said I'm ready to go. I told him go have a seat I'm not ready yet. So when class was getting ready to start my son said I feel sick and need to go home. I knew that he was not sick. The owner came in and said that I needed to Take Robert home. So he got his way after all.

So Wednesday Robert had two tests and I asked the school if Robert could stay all day. They said yes. So I left him and went over to the fitness center for my one on one with the trainer.

On Thursday Robert told me that he had one semester test and needed to be picked up at 9:39. I told Robert that I would pick him up after class and one on one with Sharri. Friday was a sleep in day cause school is now out. So I rested but plan on going back to the fitness center after lunch to work out more.

I was called to the school to come by and pick up some goodies and was surprised when I walked into the 4th grade special ed classroom I helped with each year. I was told that I was the Volunteer of the Year with 700 hours and needed a picture of me with the Principal to put in next year's annual.

So that is why I haven't been around this week.

I have let things slide this week. I am going to do some slow cleaning today. After so many weeks of medical issues I am hoping for a break and some home goddess time.

Morning all! Woke up to heavy rain today. There goes my plans to work out in my compost heap and in the garden today. I guess it will be mostly barn and house work today. At least until things dry out. Really glad we didn't have any hay down.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Linda
