If I'm coming back from a call and we stop somewhere for a drink and a snack, I tend to go for water and fruit or cheese. I try to stay away from chips, candybars, etc.

As for getting up during a meal, I always try to make sure that the meal is a healthy one. If your co-workers are nice maybe they would put it in the frig for you until you get back. I would then finish the meal when you get back.

I typically work evenings and weekends. I take most of my meals with me that way I stay on track with eating.

Tracking your food is so important to staying healthy.

Good Luck!

I've noticed that there hasnt been alot of talk around here lately. We all have one thing in common, emergency responders, so why are we not talking about what we all know about?

anyways, I had a question for all of yall, since we are all doing this while activley responding to emergency calls. what do you do when your out on the road, answering calls all day long when you want a snack? or, how do you deal with getting up from a meal to answer a call when you know you need to eat healthy? not saying that i get mad when i have to leave the dinner table, or go all day without eating because of a serious call, because that doesnt happen all the time around here. what im saying is, how do you guys stick to your goals everyday, even when your whole day is filled up unexpectedly with calls?

i hope to hear from some of you guys. i think we should really start talking back and forth, get to know each other and talk about how we can do things this way, or that way or share ideas, tricks or tips to get thru the day, or night for that matter!
