I slept in.

I made a yummy breakfast (I have finally figured out how make Eggs'N'Oats so it's yummy!)

Went grocery shopping

Read for 3 hours this afternoon

Made homemade pizza for dinner (and ooh...it was AWESMOME!)

Watched an old episode of CSI

Next on the list: do my dishes, watch the final episode of Dexter - Season 4 and read some more. :)

I exercised today for a total of 75mins. I read - A LOT! I also re-read my 2010 blogs and figured out that in 2010 I read a total of 35 books!

I will be going to bed super early as I'm tired ... and going to enjoy a great night's sleep!

1st day AF for 2011 and looking forward to more!

I was AF today and I:

1. Danced around my living room for 47 minutes (created my own workout of sorts with taebo style moves, lots of hip shaking and jumping)

2. Made myself a yummy lunch treat of Eggs Benedict

3. Emptied the garbage and took down my recycling

4. Packed my Avon orders

5. Put away my Christmas ornaments

6. Started to work on a schedule for myself that includes classes, homework, exercise, house, job hunting and fun stuff (cripes...it's hard!)

Next up: a bubble bath and some tea. Then back to work on that schedule.

So far today I have cleaned my bathroom, applied to 2 jobs, washed my kitchen floor, gone to the grocery store to pick up missing ingredients for Saturday's dinner. Next on the list: tidy up the living room and clear off my dining table. It's become a bit of a dumping ground. *lol*

I was AF yesterday for the first time in about 14 days and I just LOVE how I get so much done!

I had energy to spare too!

Worked, went shopping, went to the library, tidied up my bedroom and the 'clutter' (my house is so clutter free when I'm AF).

It feels GREEEAT!! Plans for a couple more AF days as I prepare for the New Year and many 'to do's' including goal setting and scheduling my workout calendar.

2. gone downtown to pick up concert tickets (I ordered them as a Christmas present) only to be told they'd been mailed to me yesterday. Grrr....
3. Got another batch of cookies on the go

So far today I have gone to Walmart and picked up a prescription. I then went to the Dollar Store and picked up a few more things for wrapping gifts. I grabbed a coffee and came home. I then put a pan of lemon bars in the oven (they're cooling now) and did the dishes.

This afternoon I'm running out to Loblaws to get a few things, then I'll come home and do more baking and wrapping. Ok...I'm starting to feel festive, now that gloomy stuff is out of the way.

I was (am) AF today and I did the following:

1. Walked to the seniors' home
2. Played Christmas carols for the ladies at the home
3. Walked to the library
4. Returned 3 library books
5. Went to Carlingwood and went to the bank, bought my last couple of Christmas present and met Grandma and Audrey for coffee
6. Made dinner (mmm...quinoa in the style of fried rice, with scrambled egg and peas)
7. had a little (30 minute) power nap

And now I'm off to get a batch of cookies made, do my dishes, wrap my last few Christmas presents and have a bubble bath.

Gone to Bayshore with Grandma and Audrey
Printed off some Christmas music and practiced the flute and the piano
Ordered another batch of textbooks

I am now going to take down some more recycling (cripes, how many cardboard boxes do I need? *lol*), then do my dinner dishes, wrap my nephews' Christmas presents, take a bubble bath and read

After accomplishing nothing yesterday, I have grand plans for today. This is in no particular order.

1. Take down all my recycling
2. Clean the kitchen so I can get started on my Christmas baking
3. Get started on the Christmas baking
4. Go to the post office and ship my camera to Canon for repairs
5. Go to grocery store and pick up missing ingredients for my baking
6. Clean the bathroom
7. Dust and vacuum the apartment

And with that, I'm off to get stuff done. emoticon

Had a hard time getting going this morning..but now that I'm going, I'm planning on getting a lot done today.

So far I have:

1. spent $800....on textbooks and my culinary kit
2. found a couple of options to reduce the costs on my remaining textbooks
3. Cleaned my bedroom closet and got it reorganized
4. Have a bag of garbage ready to go down, a bag of clothes and purses to be donated and all my recycling organized
5. Sorted my laundry (will throw that in later this afternoon)

I am just finishing up my lunch and then I will get back to work in the bedroom.

I didn't end up volunteering today. emoticon It was way too slippery out and I didn't think I'd even be able to make it to the bus stop without falling.

So I stayed home. And I made turkey stock and Eggnog Spritz cookies (except my cookie press was being a PITA so I ended up rolling the dough into balls and using the cookie press discs to press the shapes into the dough balls *lol*). I currently have a curried carrot and potato soup cooking for dinner. After I've eaten, I'm going to clean my kitchen and bathroom. Once that's done, I'm going to make myself something warm and festive to drink (mm....decaf coffee with eggnog maybe?) and then read my book.

Today I am still AF, but more importantly...I was on Thanksgiving. Some typical drama and I handled it by walking away, grabbing a diet coke and shedding a few frustrated tears by myself. I was able to look at what happened objectively and without the filter of booze...that makes me really happy. And it was just a blip. Nothing important, and I'm just so freaking happy I dealt with it and moved on.

Ok, made it through another evening. Spent an hour after dinner working out with my daughter (12 yrs old). She was on our treadmill while I did a workout video. I'm hoping to instill some fitness in to her life. She so loves the computer & tv! lol

So far today I have paid bills, and worked. The list of things i did at work to day is just too over whelming to list! I'm a teacher!
Right now I'm getting ready to go to my weights class, then have dinner with the family. I will not be having any drinks since I have tracked my food today and am right on track. I do not want to spoil it with a glass of wine which always turns into 2 or more glasses!

I know the day isn't done yet, but I also know that I won't be having anything to drink tonight.

So far I have had breakfast and done the dishes, gone for a 10km walk with a friend, had lunch with that friend, and picked up some photo collage mugs I had ordered from Walmart.

Still on the list: pack my bag to go to my friend's house and aquafit class.

I know today is only half done but still. :)

So far I am AF and I have accomplished the following:

1. exercised for 20 minutes
2. had a yummy breakfast
3. washed breakfast dishes
4. showered and dressed
5. changed my sheets

Still up for today: my nephew is coming back (we're going to try the sleepover again *lol*), we're going to a movie, work on our puppet theatre and make some puppets.

And here's how the rest of my day went:

Brady and I walked to the movie theatre and saw Megamind. We came home and I made homemade oven fries and hotdogs (and salad for me) for dinner. Brady and I read a book, then he fell asleep on the floor, where he had a little accident so I had to give him a bath and get him cleaned up. I read him another story and got him into bed. Oh yes...I also did the dinner dishes.

I've been AF for 5 days in a row and I think I'm going to keep it going because of all the energy I have to get things done!

This past week I've done the following:
1. Applied for more jobs (daily)
2. Organized for my chapter meeting
3. Organized one of my dressers, threw out some clothes and starting another donation pile
4. Hung up more items around the house
5. I'm making my house a real home by just taking care of all the great things that surround me!

I also logged in major activity minutes this week (415 so far)...

1. got up at 8am and finished my housework before my nephew arrived
2.spent a wonderful afternoon with my nephew (he ended up going home at 8:30...said he wasn't feeling well :( Poor little guy). We spent almost 4 hours outside this afternoon.
3. Made homemade pizza (including the dough from scratch)
4. Did all my dinner dishes and have a sparkling kitchen for tomorrow

Exercise definitely puts me in a better frame of mind to stay AF. Right after work my husband and I went to the gym and to an abs class. Afterward he wanted to try a yoga class (which he has NEVER done before!), which I encouraged him to do while I went and worked out on the elliptical. Driving home I asked him if he really didn't feel like having a beer (I know I didn't after all that feel-good working out). He acknowledged he didn't and had iced tea.

So... this is the kind of routine I'd like to keep going for both of us; but then there are the tempting weekends...

I got my 2nd day AF in for the month and boy... I love what I do when I am AF (so much more beneficial than sitting on my tush and watching TV):
- did 80mins of activity (ST and walk by the river in the beautiful sunshine!!)
- applied for 1 more job directly
- had an interview with a placement agency = 2 more job prospects
- went to the library, read some more (finished one book, started another)
- pampered myself with a nice bath and heading to bed to rest up

Good night team!!

I was AF today and I went and introduced myself to a new Avon customer. She was thrilled that I knocked on the door, rather than just dropping the books in the mailbox. I then walked to the movie theater to meet friends.

i'm down to 23 days before the wedding, and it's really just taking everything i have to not let every day get to me!!

good news is that i got up and walked this morning because i wanted to feel good without the drink. and again at lunch, instead of heading down the street to BJs to drown my frustrations from work and home.

it's not my first AF day this month, but i hope it's the beginning of a better trend. emoticon

On my first AF day of this month, I returned all my empties from my latest daily drinking and went tanning for the first time since Sept 25... my color was fading away. Being AF means having more time to do the things I truly enjoy, like reading, meditating, and enjoying a nice soothing cup of herbal tea.

Well, after the Cookie Episode at 1:45 this morning, I don't have the calories for wine. *lol* And that's fine...because my back is still bothering me and I plan on taking 2 Extra Strength Tylenol before bed. Don't want to mix alcohol with that.

Today I had a nap, read some of my book (Reading Lolita in Tehran), did 15 minutes of yoga (which felt really good), played the piano, had lunch and dinner. I'll see how my back is later and I will do my dishes.

Best of luck on your interview! And as for having that glass of wine - no drowning in sorrows my dear - you have so much to be proud of!

Don't forget - if it's nice one night this week, we can go for a walk together!

Thank you...I don't feel particularly amazing. I feel particularly close to pouring a glass of wine. But I am not giving in tonight. I have a job interview tomorrow, for a job that I really, really want. It would certainly be a great career boost. :)

I don't think I'll be finishing the month AF though...I have told myself that tomorrow I can have some wine. I will either be celebrating how the interview went or drowning my sorrows. *lol*

I did not do too much today...emotionally I have struggled today and I think it has to do with my impending trip to Barbados. Mom was supposed to be coming with me...we were having my birthday party on the beach. And here I am, 2 weeks out from my departure date, and Mom isn't coming with me. She's been gone 6 months already and I am still struggling to accept it.

I had a whole list of things I wanted to get done today...and since I've done none of them, I will have to tackle some of them tonight. Especially the laundry. I'm running out of underwear. *lol*

But, in spite of all the emotional turmoil today, I am still AF.

Today is SO going to be 10 days AF. I'm not breaking this for ANYTHING! :D

So far today I have had breakfast, met some Ottawa Sparkers for a walk, come home and had coffee and lunch. I have played the piano (are you tired of me putting that in there yet? *lol*) and had a pear. Oh yes, I've also taken Chicken Jambalaya out of the freezer for my dinner.

I'm currently listening to some music (Royal Wood...this man's songs make me feel like I have just fallen in love for the very first time) and I'm going to tackle some more housework. Stuff still needs to find homes! :D

I am working on Day 9 AF today...and so far my day has been awesome!

I got up at 7:30am (whoa...on a Saturday?!), I had a cup of coffee, then breakfast, then another cup of coffee. While doing that, I played around online (checked the news/weather/facebook/livejournal/etc). Then I cleaned out under my bathroom sink...boy...did I ever get rid of a lot of junk that I wasn't using. I reorganized the stuff I decided to keep and now I have room for more stuff! :D

After that, I unhooked my stereo receiver. I'm letting friends of mine borrow it. Since I live in an apartment, I have no need for such a large stereo setup. Plus, I bought a really sweet iPod docking station and that's what I use to listen to my music.

I have dropped some garbage down the chute and organized some recycling (which I will take down when I go out later). I have made lunch, done my dishes and started a book (Wednesday's Child by Peter Robinson). Now it's time for some piano playing.

Tonight I'm going out for Vietnamese food and then to a hockey game. Yay! Hockey is back!
