I'm sorry if someone has already asked this but are we allowed to choose the 5 days we do the cardio alongside the daily videos?

Thank Sarah! If I do videos 4&5 today, and 6&7 tomorrow, I'll be right back on track and starting week 2 on Tuesday, right on schedule! I'm very excited and hopeful

PUNKINPIE, No need to apologize, we were all new to the site at one time :) Here is a link to all the SparkPeople videos. You can choose any one as your bonus video, but you won't need to do this until Week 2.

That makes great sense to me, thank you for the quick response... I only have one other question. Where do I find the bonus videos? Again, I apologize for the silly question but I'm new to this challenge and new to the site. (I joined the challenge like a wk after joining the site)

PUNKINPIE, You don't need to start over. Doubling up on videos is a great way to catch up. For Week 2 you are asked to pick a bonus video and add those to two of your days, but you only need to do the bootcamp videos once in addition to your five cardio sessions. Hope that makes sense!

Okay, I signed up for this challenge on Tuesday and caught a stomach bug from my kids on Wednsday. I had to skip my workout on Wednsday and Thursday. I did do videos 1, 2 & 3 and plan of doing 4 tomorrow. My question is do I have to start over or can I double up to catch up?

Also, after wk 1, do I need to start doing two videos a day for it to count as having fulfilled my challenge goals for the day? As well as doing cardio daily? Sorry if this has been covered but I want to really do this right and earn my trophy at the end of this month...

COFFEENGRACE, Doing two videos today is a great way to catch back up. It's okay to do this whenever you fall behind. Good luck!

What happens if you skip a day? Yesterday, I had so much running to do that by the time I got home all I wanted to do was go straight to bed. Can I do day 4 and 5 today? How do I do this and get back on track.

Thanks :)

I was 1/2 way through the challenge this Monday and then Monday night I started with a stomach virus. I am still not strong enough (kind of light-headed today) to exercise. I am hoping that tomorrow I will be able to do at least 10 minutes of cardio.

My question to you is, do I have to start all over from day #1 or do I pick up where I left off on Monday (Wk2/Day6)? Thanks.

LAURAWILLBEFIT, You only need to do the video once. The 2 sets of 12-15 reps is just the default entry and doesn't apply to the videos. It's just what SparkPeople automatically enters it as. Hope that helps!

I was wondering if we should count the strength training as 2 sets if we do it one time, or do we have to do the video twice in order to make it 2 sets?

Carol, You can make any necessary modifications to the videos in order for them to met your exercise level, but if it's just too hard I would suggest you substitute another video. The Day 1 video is the only video that is cardio. The rest of the videos are strength training and you may find them easier to complete since they don't involve jumping around. Maybe you could substitute a chair exercise video for Day 1 and then use the rest of the bootcamp videos for the other days. Hope that helps!

I joined this team yesterday, but had such a busy day I never got a chance to do the day 1 exercise or any exercise for that matter. I left the team and rejoined today so I could stay on track. I hope this was okay. I will post my before pic sometime today.

OK I'm not sure if I should have even joined this team. I belong to the chair exercise team and thought this would be a good team to join to keep me focused on exercise.
I went to do video 1 of week one and the walking in place is no problem if I use a chair for balance BUT then the jumping jacks. No way can I do those. Is it possible for me to use the chair exercise videos and log those as the videos for this team? If not, no problem,I'll just do something else.
Thanks
Carol

4METIME,The Day 1 video is cardio and can be added on your fitness page by clicking "Add Cardio", typing "bootcamp" in the search box and then choosing "10 Minute Cardio Bootcamp Video Workout" from the list. The other videos are strength training and can be added by clickiing on the "Add to Fitness Tracker" button located at the bottom of the page underneath the videos. Hope that helps!

I do kettlebells regularly for my workout but find the 10 min videos are good to add a bit more movement into my day. They target different muscles actually so I think it's a great supplement and really it's 10 min!

I track my fitness minutes by going to My Trackers; my Fitness and using the Quick Track Fitness Minutes.

There is no drop down box to make selections (for this challenge or any other workout), so how am I to enter that data and still get the 28 Day Bootcamp medallion posted on My Page when I complete this?

Please advise me.

BUFFALOWINTERS, The SP videos are great and only 10 minutes in duration, which is easy to incorporate into your day. It's up to you though. If you would rather use your own videos that's fine. The main focus of bootcamp is to get people exercising consistently and as long as you are doing that you're on track. Good luck!

Question. I signed up some time ago for the group but due to health issues my doctor didn't want me to start up anything till we resolved a few issues. I'm all clear to start but have a question. I would follow the basics of which days to do this type but would like to use the work out videos I own (kettle bell, weight training, walking, dancing) can I do this and still follow the group of does it need to be the videos selected for it.
Thanks for the help!

KIMBER, It really depends on your current fitness levels. If you've never used weights before I would start with 3-5 lb dumbbells. If you already lift weights I would use the dumbbells you are used to using. You may have to experiment to find the weight that is right for you. You want to choose a weight that you can perform 12-15 reps with, but that leaves your muscles spent by the end. If you can't perform the exercise with proper form for the entire set, you need to use a lighter weight. If when you are done the set you are feeling like you could keep going, you will need to choose a heavier weight. Hope that helps!

What would be the best weight for dumbbells in this challenge? I know it varys from person to person, but there must be some kind of average... Just wanting to see about what that might be. Thanks.

KNURLHALL,It's up to you. You can do the videos twice and count that instead of the bonus video or you could pick two days to do the video once and add in the bonus video on those days. It's up to you. Either way is fine. Good luck!

I am sure this question has been asked and answered but I could not find it.
on the Week 2 action steps is says:

"Do one bonus video this week. To amplify your results and keep your body guessing, choose one bonus workout video to add to your routine two times this week. Choose from over 40 free titles, then tell us which video you chose in the Week 2 forum."

I am doing the the boot camp videos twice through (I was planning on doing this all week) would this count or should I pick a new video to add on to 2 of the days?

I want to make sure I get all the action steps in correctly.

Thanks,

HEPHZIBAHBEULAH, That's fine if you want to do extra videos to catch up. If you've done the videos that's okay if you want to check them off in your "Other Goals" even if you did the video on a different day. The important part is that you completed the video, not what day you did it on. You will still get your trophy at the end this way.

I messed-up!
I got a bit confused about this bootcamp and got off track right away as far as what I was suppose to do and where to track what. I stayed very active this month but didnt do the bootcamps last 3 weeks.
Can I start a new one or do I have to wait until the month end til the one I am in now is over.

Confused? I am ... lol

thanks! :)

Hey Agassisfan. Just saw your question as I was looking for an answer to mine. The seven videos are the ones you're meant to do - just do a whole set each week, then start over with Day 1 the second week, and so on :) You have to rotate them throughout the month.

As many have said, I'm sorry if this has been asked before!! I've read some similar questions and answers but none of them have *quite* answered my question.

If I miss some days doing my bootcamp workout videos, should I start over from the day where I pick it up again? Or can I catch up three videos on one day? If I were to do the latter and catch up, adding to my tracker the days that I have missed on one day, can I tick off on my 'other goals' tracker that I have done my bootcamp workouts on the days I missed even if I didn't ACTUALLY do them on those days, but caught up later?

I am really keen to complete this and get the sticker for my profile, so I want to do it right!! Unfortunately, sometimes life happens and I just can't get those 10 min videos done. I'm doing ok with everything else, and I'm getting better at doing the 10 min videos.

I have restarted this challenge 3 times and don't want to start again!! So I am just wondering if I will still get my reward for my profile if I have missed days and then catch up :)

ADYLEIGH, It's completely up to you. If you'd like to start over you can, but if once you feel better you'd like to carry on from where you've left off, that would be fine too.

NEEDENERGY2, On the team page look for the "Challenge Details" box. Click on the link that says "Complete Week 2 Action Steps". You will find all the instructions for the week as well as a link to the videos. Hope that helps!

Can and how do I start over? I started last Thursday but travelled on the weekend and was unable to do Day 3 and 4 videos, although I did get in lots of cardio. However, now I'm suffering from a bad cold and not so sure if I will feel up to today's video either. Suggestions?

NEEDENERGY2 - I'm pretty sure you just start at Day 1 again and repeat the same videos schedule over again for each week. Change up your cardio for variety.

I bought the DVD Fit, Fire and Fired Up because I thought it would have the same work outs as the 28-day challenge. I was hoping to see the workout on a larger screen. My mistake. The question is does it count in the 28-day challenge if I use the dvd instead.
