Elderberry helps with allergies, too? Wow!

My ginger tea is Traditional Medicinals brand tea bags. I used to try to keep ginger root in the house, but I don't use it frequently enough to stop it from getting moldy. And I find the Trad Med brand works really well.

I just discovered elderberry this year too. Sure helps the spring allergies. I also take a B12 daily and of course my airborne whenever I am exposed to someone or feel off. So far I am okay.

Weather was fabulous today. We had snow Saturday and Sunday and then the temp hit 62 today. Getting whiplash with this weather, but I really was glad to see the snow. We needed it on the mountains or the water sheds and the freeze to help reduce pests in the garden.

Secret to Success: If I can fight through three days without sugar the cravings decrease.

Oh, TOPS cancelled all meetings.

How does that taste? I used to swear by Ginger tea, but got away from using it. Maybe I'll go back. It just tastes so bad...even with a bit of apple cider and sweetener mixed in.

I have been doing a couple of new things to strengthen my immunity: Black elderberry syrup. B12 capsules(for energy). A detox tea in the mornings, soak ginger and lemon and tumeric in hot water for 30 min. then strain and drink it. I don't do it daily but pretty often.

I'm a month in now, with this weird illness, and I'm down to just clearing my throat multiple times a day, blowing my nose like 10x a day, and sneezing a few times. But mainly I FEEL better, and that's what I really needed. I hope my immune system is strong enough to fight off any weird Corona mess that comes to San Diego!

Yesterday at Sprouts natural food market, there was a HUGE basket at the checkout, that usually holds fresh bread loaves, and it was full of Sambucol-Elderberry packs! I thought of you guys!

I tried the gummies and don't think they work as well. I only use it when stuffed up or coughing. Read the ingredients labels. Make sure you are getting a product that is what it says and not filled up with soy or ingredients you can't read. I am now wondering if dried elderberries might even be better.

It was peeled and I did squeeze it a little before dropping it in the glass.

I just discovered elderberry for helping the phlegm issue. Works well for me. I put a couple droppers full in water or tea and drink it up.

A friend told me as long as she does not eat sugar and high carbs, her cravings are OK. As soon as she eats that stuff her cravings go to town.

Maybe I am limiting my sugar and carbs enough... who knows???

I used my blender this morning to make a drink to reduce toxicity .

I'd love to try juicing sometime. Haven't gotten around to it. Maybe in the summer. For some reason, large glasses of cold stuff doesn't appeal to me in winter.

I think roasted parsnips are awesome, but not sure if beets roast well. I'm kind of into roasting everything at the moment. Prep time is fast, and they taste extra special with the crispy bits from roasting. Hmm, maybe that's dinner tonight.

I haven't been out much because of the weather. I just can't bring myself to take it down to the river and stand in the rain trying to get a decent photo. However, Buds is tired of being house bound so we may get out today. Had a skiff of snow yesterday and some rain and snow today. Nothing sticking. Lots of heavy rain for the last week. Creeks were pushing their boundaries. That is why I like to buy vehicles in January here. No one wants to leave their house let alone get soaked on a car lot, so it is much easier to get a good deal. Bought the Blazer in a foot of slush ten years ago. LOL

Secret to Success: This is new, but I got my first delivery of "Imperfect Food" The box was crammed full of produce. So it is juiced and made into yummy soups. I wasn't tempted by any of the typical grocery store stuff, so I am eating soups and drinking green juices. I know I feel better eating the healthier food. Oh, there were parsnips and beets in there too, so I cut them up and put them in my soup too. Made a nice change of pace. I still have more parsnips and beets, so I need to look up how to cook or use them.

Oh, wow that really sounds drool worthy. I have had all those ingredients in my smoothies, but not the avocado. I bet that does wonderful things to the taste and texture.

Bought a grandma van. I am road worthy again. Of course now I can't afford to travel for awhile, but I love having the new rig. I can actually camp in it. Woohoo!

For the first time in ages, i made a smoothie yesterday. I bought a big bag of pre washed kale and spinach. So the smoothie had that and blueberries, banana, avacado, and water. Oh a little stevia. I really enjoyed it!
