Have a conscious contact with God throughout your day. Inner conversations of thanksgiving or a quick word of prayer when thinking of someone. Have a sacred song on your mind if you are somewhat musical.
Hope this helps.

Yes, I am a Roman Catholic. Yes, I need to exercise my Temple of the Holy Spirit. I have let my body suffer as felt that yes, my body's health is important, but I need my job. As I work from home, I have to work as hard as I can. Then, I have cooking to do, cleaning to do, etc.

Would you discuss some ways for a person to take care of their Temple of the Holy Spirit when pressed for time because of work obligations?

Thank you.

Jesus, our Advocate

In Sunday's Gospel from Luke we have another appearance of Jesus to his confused and frightened followers. He again greets them with his gift of Peace and shows them his wounds. They still fear that he is a ghost and so he asks for something to eat to show them that he is truly real and alive. "Then Jesus opened their minds to understand the Scriptures." He wants them and us to understand that his death was his ultimate act of love to free all of the human family from slavery to self and sin. In his death he reveals his Father to be forgiving love that conquers even and especially death.

In the second reading from the first letter of John, we hear that "we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous one." An advocate is a defense attorney, one who argues on our behalf. Jesus intercedes for us and that is what we experience when we celebrate God's mercy in the sacrament of Reconciliation. A crippling weight is lifted and we know his Easter gift of Peace. As the weather warms and the flowers bloom, let us be witnesses that Jesus has risen and is truly alive. Alleluia!

Let Go and Let God!

Wednesday is Ash Wednesday as well as Valentine's day! Reflecting on this I recalledAsh Wednesday from a few years ago and my renewal of faith.

Behold, now is a very acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. –2 Corinthians 6:2 NAB

A few years ago, on Ash Wednesday, I attended a noon mass at a downtown church near our local university campus. As I sat down a small group of students sat in the row with me.

We smiled, and as the mass began, I could tell that they were there for the first time. I help the young girl next to me find the opening hymn and the readings for mass and she did the same down the row, as everyone nodded to me their thanks. As I looked around the church, I could tell that they weren’t the only non-Catholics at mass that day.

When the time arrived to distribute the ashes, I stood and they followed me down the aisle to the distributor in our section.

“Remember you are dust and unto dust you shall return,” the words spoken and each student received their ashes. They made their way back to the pew and mass continued.

At the conclusion of mass, I had the opportunity to speak with each of them.

“Are you Catholic?” I asked the first young lady.

“No, she replied, I am a non-denominational Christian.”

Of the four students only one was a marginal Catholic, having been baptized as an infant but raised in a family that didn’t practice their faith. The two remaining were agnostic.

“What brought you to mass today,” I inquired?

“The ashes,” they responded in unison!

“What about the ashes,” I asked.

They explained, “there is just something about the concept of lent that is very appealing to us. The dying to self, the giving up of something we take for granted, things that others might not have, the idea of a period of time where we reflect on our lives and what are purpose in life is, that is very appealing.”

Wow, I thought! Young people are always searching, searching for some meaning to their lives, searching for answers to life’s biggest questions. And, you know, if they are going to find these answers, then this is a great place to start!

For forty days, we are asked to die to self, rend our hearts and return to The Lord, and to pray, fast and give alms.

We sat in church and talked for a half hour after mass. We discussed the great homily the celebrant gave, and we talked about lent, ashes, and what lies ahead, the life, death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As they left the church, they thanked me. In return, I thanked them for restoring my faith in their generation. At least these four, really got the message.

There is power in those ashes!

Let Go and Let God!

During the Christmas season we read and hear so much about Jesus and Mary as well we should but I like this article about Joseph, to me an unsung hero!

Santa Marta: Joseph, Silent Strength and Faith
Reminds of Joseph ‘who carried forward every paternity and mystery, but took nothing for himself’

Joseph is a perfect model of silent strength and faith.

According to VaticanNews, Pope Francis gave this reminder today, Dec. 18, 2017, during his daily morning Mass in his residence Casa Santa Marta, as he reflected on today’s Gospel, and specifically Joseph’s initial doubt and worry when he learned Mary was pregnant.

When we have difficulties or are down, Pope Francis said, we should be inspired by St Joseph, who knew “how to walk in darkness,” “listen to the voice of God,” and “go forward in silence.”

While he “did not understand,” the Pope said, he knew that Mary was “a woman of God,” and believed when the Lord sent him an angel in a dream to explain how–though the Holy Spirit–the child had been conceived.

“Joseph fought within himself; in that struggle, the voice of God is heard: ‘But get up’ — that ‘Get up’ [which is heard] so many times in the Bible at the beginning of a mission — ‘Take Mary, bring her to your home. Take charge of the situation; take this situation in hand, and go forward.’ Joseph didn’t go to his friends to be comforted, he didn’t go to a psychiatrist so that he could interpret the dream. No… He believed. And he went forward. He took the situation in hand. But what must you take in hand, Joseph? What was the situation? What was it that Joseph had to take up?

“Two things: fatherhood, and mystery,” Francis answered.

Regarding “fatherhood,” Francis observed: This is already implied in the genealogy of Jesus, which explains how He “was thought to be the son of Joseph.”

“He took on a paternity that was not his own: it came from the Father. And he went ahead with that fatherhood and all it signified: not only supporting Mary and the Child, but also raising the Child, teaching Him his trade, bringing Him up to manhood. ‘Take up a paternity that is not yours, but God’s.’ And this, without saying a word. In the Gospel, there is not a single word spoken by Joseph. A man of silence, of silent obedience.”

Turning to mystery, the Holy Father explained that Jesus took in hand the mystery of leading people back to God mentioned in the first reading.

“Joseph took in hand this mystery and helps: with silence, with his work, up to the moment when God called him to Himself. It is said of this man, who took up fatherhood and mystery, that he was the shadow of the Father: the shadow of God the Father.

“And if the man Jesus learned to say ‘daddy,’ ‘father,’ to His Father Who He knew as God,” Francis explained, “He learned it from life, from the witness of Joseph, the man who took care of Him, the man who raised Him, the man who carried forward every paternity and every mystery, but took nothing for himself.”

Pope Francis concluded saying this is the great Joseph, whom God needed to carry forward “the mystery of leading the people anew to the new Creation.”

Let Go and Let God!

Second Chances

"Jesus said to the chief priests and elders of the people: ...'Amen, I say to you, tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you.'" (Mt 21:31)

In Sunday's Gospel Jesus is very stern with the religious authorities of his day because they are justifying themselves by using the law to their advantage, to excuse themselves. He uses the parable of the two sons to confront their behavior. They are giving lip service but not following through with their choices and actions. He contrasts them with the public sinners whose life choices have said No to God but then acknowledged and owned their sins and repented, began living a Yes to God.

We've all had the experience of turning down someone's request of us and then having second thoughts. Maybe it was the look of disappointment on their face or our habit of trying to please others or guilt. Maybe it was the Holy Spirit giving us another second chance to get it right, letting us know that we actually can be that generous with our time and talents. Our loving God is always at work in and through us, nudging us to be more loving, more forgiving, more generous than we can be by ourselves. God always gives us another chance, a second or third or fourth, however many we need.

Let Go and Let God!

The Ascension of Jesus

"And behold, I am with you always until the end of the age." (Mt 28:20)

After his resurrection from the dead the Lord Jesus spent forty days appearing to his apostles, blessing them with his gift of peace and continuing his instructions on the kingdom of God. At the end it was time to return to his Father, to take his place at God's right hand which is a Hebrew expression that means "sharing power with God". As his farewell he promises his constant presence, his protection and guidance for all of us.

Once in a while we are blessed with an experience of his love when we are aware of how blessed we are, how much he has given us. Sometimes we are surprised that we are more loving and forgiving than we know we could be by our self. When all is well and we are happy and content, there is still a longing for more.
It is at such times that we are aware of Jesus' presence in the here and now and his promise that the Father is waiting for us in the future.

Let Go and Let God!

Having a CT Scan on Tuesday. Last week I had an MRI on Wednesday and on Saturday a regular x-ray. Well, hopefully between all of these pictures, the medical team will come up with something that is causing the numbness. It's been a year since I had the carpal tunnel release surgery and there has been no change. Just hoping I will not have to go through any further surgery. This is just one roadblock in my music ministry for the church.

Hello there.
I was slowed down the last couple of days due to a carpal tunnel flare up. I had to get a replacement organist for the weekend, and music is something I love to do. I think the flare up was due to walking with nordic poles - I probably over did, but there was no swelling until after I had done a music practise with a cantor the next day. Oh well, it is much better today thank goodness.

Hello team! Sorry for a boring form letter, but I want all of you to know I am here for you now.

I missed my faithful teams as-well-as my new teams. While on vacation, I do not always have access to Wi-Fi, which explains the absence.

Have you been getting in those 10 minutes? Have you been drinking enough? What is for dinner? Treat fitness and nutrition like a job... You are more than likely to get it accomplished if so. They say to make it fun though. I disagree.

The local library has gotten strict with me about taking out coupons. I may only take out a few circulars instead of all of the circulars. The librarians upset me because if I do not take all of the coupons, the coupons just lay there until the expiration has passed! So, why the big deal if I take them all?

I need to work on a newspaper article. The deadline is soon!

Hopefully, the local grocery store has produce on clearance so I may make some good smoothies. I love the taste of Slim Fast, but it is just not filling. I almost bought a juicer at a yard sale, but the woman wanted $8.00. I refuse to spend more than a buck or two. She would only come down a dollar. So, no deal. I have to use my blender which does not always work as good.

Do you need some spare money? Are you good with blogging? This is a freelance job that pays by PayPal. You write for whom ever you like whenever you like.

Well, I will close for now... Be good and Spark on!

Today has been OK. How about with you?

I played BINGO . A bunch of us get together and play for prizes as opposed to playing for money. I like to win items for gift baskets or stuff for myself to snack on. Today, I won peanut butter and pretzel sticks. Not sure if I myself want them or to place in gift baskets yet.
Hey! Don't laugh! LOL

It poured down raining earlier today, also, but now it is just cloudy and cool.

I am having my iced coffee but there is something not right. Anymore, my iced coffee just does not taste good. I make the iced coffee like I always do. The devil is NOT going to win this battle! If I do not drink booze and do not do drugs, then I AM going to drink iced coffee. Any suggestions?

I found a health coach job to send a resume to, but not sure if I will. With my present job, if you think about, I have it made. I do not have to pay for my own websites, I can write and edit and publish whatever I want, make a difference in people's lives, be seen all over the world, I can telecommute. This means, no car payments, no having to spend money on lunches, not having to buy expensive clothes, (heck, I can work in my jammies), I can make my own hours, never get bored, see?

I thought I would help out the Easter Bunny and use coupons @ Dollar Tree to get chocolate for Easter. I had 4 coupons good for 8 huge bags of M & M's. Who should the Easter Bunny give it all to? This should be interesting...

Well, I will sign off for now. Be good and Sparkmail me!

Sincerely,

thank you for the encouragement.
I've borrowed the nordic poles from my TOPS group. They should help motivate me to get out and walk and hopefully help me walk straight and tall!
Hard to believe that March is almost at an end and that Easter will soon be here. I better start practising "The Holy City" as it is an Easter traditional to play.

I'll have to check that web site out sometime.

Granddaughter is doing better, just taking lots of time to heal - and they saw the surgeon today. It was confirmed that the tonsils were also removed during surgery because they had been quite swollen. Ava needs to learn to drink more water. She is an active 5 yr old and talks a lot so that probably brought on the bleeding. lt had happened again on Friday night..

I am doing very well after having hip replacement. Now I am even on both sides. Trying to learn how to walk straight again. I waddled for so many years! I see the surgeon on Wednesday - hoping to return to my group home job on Friday.

QUENNEVILLE, I left you a comment on your Sparkpage...

Remember how I was searching for an on-line Mass? 1 or 2 of them, I just did not feel comfortable with. Well, last night, I became a parishioner of:

thesundaymass.org

The Mass was how I like it...short, sweet and to the point.

I liked the priest, the lector, the cantor and the music.

You can have candles lit and one may request prayers.

A huge burden off of my shoulders.

Maybe our bodies don't like change! Your soup sounds good and tasty.
Sorry to hear about the panic attack. I went to visit at my daughter's place for a couple of days. They had an incident with my five year old granddaughter. The young one had surgery for adenoids removal a week ago. She all of a sudden got up from a chair in the kitchen on Monday and leaned over throwing up a whole lot of blood! My daughter got on the phone to call 911 and my son-in-law got into a real panic attack. I stood by my granddaughter while the parents were doing what they needed to do, 5 yr old was quite relaxed by the time paramedics showed up - the paramedics looked into her throat and were pretty sure that a tonsil had been removed - which would indicate there may have been a blood clot burst. Off to the hospital and stayed for about 5 hours. Doctor confirmed that a tonsil had been removed. Boy we all are sure upset with the surgeon - surgeon had not given them any indication of a tonsilectomy having been performed - had only told them that everything went fine during surgery. Last night was pretty rough for the parents, neither got much sleep - the young one has been waking up screaming during the night. I am back home now - hoping they will all get some much needed rest tonight.

I was away on vacation for a week and am finally able to do my Sparkteams! Did you miss me? LOL

I just do not understand my weight... The entire week I had been on vacation, I drank coffee and unsweetened iced tea with lemon. I gained 2 pounds! I have a book called "The Ultimate Tea Diet" and thought I would 2 things...incorporate unsweetened iced tea with lemon into my lifestyle and also be able to save money by doing so by making homemade iced tea with inexpensive tea bags. What did I do wrong? uuugh

I have dinner fired up in the crockpot... Vegetable Soup! What I like is that veggies are "free" food and I used up tomato juice that was just sitting there in the fridge. I like to have 1 to 2 meatless meals every 7 days. I would never survive as a vegetarian but I look at animals and think "How could we do such a thing to them..." Know what I mean?

Last night was really rough. I had an panic attack and anxiety. I would not wish it on my worst enemy. I attempted to control it by staying in front of the television with "Impractical Jokers" on. Kindly pray it will not happen again.

Well, my 2 cents for now... Have a blessed Sunday and be good!

Can't say that I have. I have been around people of many other different faiths. No matter how convincing they can be be, I have never left my roots of Catholicism. I think we learn from each other. There is much beauty in the Catholic church that you don't find in other churches. I play the organ in a Protestant church on Sundays - I use quite a lot of Catholic music resources with the choir there. I appreciate that I can still attend Mass on Saturday evenings - share my talent with both denominations. I am not a accomplished musician but enjoy the opportunity to share what talent I have - which is a love for church hymns.

So glad to hear that you were acknowledged and remembered by your parish. I find that sometimes we can just be taken for granted. I say this because I am involved in music ministry. We have many people that take part in music ministry in my parish, so it is hard I am sure to acknowledge each and every one of us. I had major surgery in January and have been away from doing music - I'm looking forward to getting back into playing organ again starting in March. I also play the organ in a Protestant church - it is a very small town congregation - today I received an email message from one of their choir members stating how much they miss my leadership in music. It brought tears to my eyes.

I am not aware of anything that you can get via internet on computer for Mass. Maybe someone else can give us this info?

I have quit leading the Joyce Meyer Ministries Sparkteam. I simply have been missing the Catholic faith.

Around Christmas, I got a letter from my church stating that I was missed at Mass. Last week, I got a letter stating that pictures will be taken of church members. It felt good to be wanted. and missed. I really did not think people would even notice me not there.

I would like to take part in Mass via computer rather than watch EWTN. Do you know of any good websites?

Well... Last night did not go as planned...

I had wanted to do reviews, read Eat To Trim again and make some make-ahead salads. I got really sleepy. So, I thought I would take a little siesta. I just laid there. But could not sleep. So, then anxiety kicked in. So, I started to review and just got frustrated. So, I did 10 minutes of a Joyce Vedral walking DVD. I got frustrated. Got on my laptop. I got frustrated. Why I was so frustrated is beyond me. I wanted to make some make-ahead salads but the jars needed cleaned and cleaning jars in the middle of the night seemed a bit insane. LOL

Then, I have 3 ice cube trays in the freezer for my iced coffee. This morning I went to make iced coffee and a person used 2 of the trays and did not refill the ice cube trays... Of course, neither housemate will confess.

A friend is taking me to the post office today to mail my mother a care package. I cannot wait! It is a very very healthy care package.

I cannot seem to get past this plateau. I STILL weigh 160 pounds. The scale just will not budge.

I wanted to take on a pro-life team, but got afraid. In the past, I was punished by people for being active in the pro-life movement. I do not want to step on the wrong toes again. I will just keep my beliefs to myself.

Well, I will sign off for now. Be good!

Thanksgiving message: (Adopted from St.Vincent de Paul ideology)

Thanksgiving...A Time to give God Thanks

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep ...
you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace ...
you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ...
you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ...
you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death ...
you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful ...
you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder ...
you are blessed because you can offer a healing touch.

If you can read this message ...
you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

THANKSGIVING is indeed a time to BE THANKFUL ...
so count your blessings and remember how blessed you are. Amen

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Let Go and Let God!

Hello? Do any of you participate in Mass via television? Such as EWTN?

What about via radio stations?

Kindly explain to me...

I am told to pray to God for Himself and not for wanting something.

Then,

I am told you have not because you ask not.

Which is right?

Both are correct and one should go to God and praise and adore as well as tell our Daddy our needs.

Woo Hoo!!!!! Two people applied to write for me today!!!!! I approved both!!!!! Now I do not have to stress!!!!! God is good!!!!!

I have been drinking water with a new water enhancer...Squirt water enhancer. It tastes really good. I thought it woudl leave a bitter grapefruit taste. However, it does not even taste like grapefruit...More like a light lemonade. Only a $1.00 a box.

On the other hand, I do find myself wanting more coffee lately. I simply cannot afford to buy all-flavored coffee for every day. I just find regular ground coffee to be so yuck.

I still have not given up all hope on finding a man. I know God is doing the matchmaking in his own little way...

Does anyone know anything about the Tea Party or the Independent Party running for President? Would you kindly educate me on these two parties? Thank you.

I cannot buy crockpot liners anywhere near here...It is such a pain to soak and scrub every day! I use the crockpot every day, unless I it is a day where I make Acapulco Tuna Salad, eat lunchmeat or microwave something. As-soon-as I get more JoAnna M. Lund cookbooks off of eBay or Amazon, I will mainly be making her recipes. Her cookbook "Party Fare" has more recipes I want to make, but the tuna salad has won me over!

How is the weather where you are? I am freezing. I do not live on the east coast yet not the midwest. We are lucky to get a good 2 monthes of summer. The rest? Yucky weather. Our winters are forever. I am a sun worshipper and am thinking about becoming a tanning bed person again, like I was when younger.

Have you clipped coupons lately? I have TONS to clip. A friend wants me to make up more toiletry crafts for him to give to those in need. He gives me a donation for the crafts. I do not charge him for labor or anything. So, maybe there will be personal necessities coupons.

Yard sale season is almost over. Whoa is me.

Well, that is about all. Be good. Spark on.

Then, remember to pray for those who cannot pray for themselves.

So how is everyone?

I had an unexpected experience on Sunday -- I went to a church where a friend of mine is a priest. I have been attending since he was posted there and Sunday I was to be sacristan-but the lector did not show up, and no one else would volunteer to do it.

So I did..they had a visiting priest, and I thought he did not need the added stress of no lector.

All I can say is "how do people do that each week?" I almost passed out.

Sigh

For the past few weeks, I have been going to a neighboring church, where is a Perpetual Novena to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal with a prayer service for healing and deliverance...It's such a beautiful service...the priest reads the gospel of the woman toucing the hem of Jesus and being healed...he then takes the Monstrance to each person, who then touches the "hem" ...so powerful!!

Bob, how did the talk go?

So, it's been quite the summer here...too hot to do much and I have a fulltime job and a more than full-time web-development ministry.

One of the parishes I work with is a merged parish and it is so divided that I am getting emails that I have more pictures of one worship site than the other and even that the parish phone number is closer to one site than another on the header...please pray for this parish to heal. It's been six years and there is still this feeling of "us vs them" --it's heart-rending really.

Thanks in advance.

Finding God in the Soundtrack of Life

I once read that the music we listen to becomes the soundtrack of our life. I just love that sentiment! As in a movie with a great soundtrack, music can transport us in time and evoke in us emotions we had thought were long gone. Have you ever noticed how certain songs bring you right back in time?

For me, “The Servant Song” youtu.be/k-Pk2NHKg_o is one of those songs. I remember singing this song in my high school choir, joining in the soulful rendition of our college folk choir, and raising this song with prayer-filled communities as we prepared to go out and serve Christ among us. Every time I hear this song, I am transported back to these times in which my heart was filled with a special awareness of the Holy Spirit at work—present and alive—in the unity and fruits of these communities rooted in Christ’s love.

This song doesn’t just bring me back in time though; it impels me forward too. Every time I hear it, I am reminded that the Christian call to serve is a personal and lifelong call. And it reminds me that those we are called to serve may not always be in a far-off country. It might also be that we are called to “hold the Christ light” that we sing of in this song for our best friend, child, or spouse—whomever is vulnerable at the time. Mother Teresa said, “Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time and always start with the person nearest you.”

When I hear “The Servant Song,” I remember too that the call to serve requires accompaniment. Serving is never a one-way street if we’re doing it right; it is a special privilege that requires a certain vulnerability on the part of both giver and receiver. Pope Francis reminds us almost daily not just of our call to serve, but also of the need to accompany those whom we serve:

The call to serve involves something special, to which we must be attentive. Serving others chiefly means caring for their vulnerability. Caring for the vulnerable of our families, our society, our people. Theirs are the suffering, fragile and downcast faces which Jesus tells us specifically to look at and which he asks us to love. With a love which takes shape in our actions and decisions. With a love which finds expression in whatever tasks we, as citizens, are called to perform. People of flesh and blood, people with individual lives and stories, and with all their frailty: these are those whom Jesus asks us to protect, to care for, to serve. Being a Christian entails promoting the dignity of our brothers and sisters, fighting for it, living for it. That is why Christians are constantly called to set aside their own wishes and desires, their pursuit of power, and to look instead to those who are most vulnerable. (Homily of Pope Francis in Havana, September 20, 2015)

In the soundtrack of my life, “The Servant Song” is a powerful reminder of God’s presence in my life and my response to God’s presence. What about you? Where do you find God in the soundtrack of your life? What songs in your soundtrack bring to mind those who have held the Christ light for you? What songs remind you of times when you held the Christ light out to others? Whom might you be called to hold the Christ light out to in the future?

Let Go and Let God!

No, I don't do that Friday thing.
I am a church musician - had carpal tunnel release surgery on June 9th. So, I am going thru music withdrawal. not an easy thing for someone who is so faithful to her ministry. I am trying to enjoy the break but it is hard. Please pray that these left hand fingers will soon be back into the swing of things.

So, we seem to be loosing the capacity for conversation here--I hope we can get it going again.
I have a question for you all --does anyone else here do the USCCB Call to Prayer Fridays?

http://www.usccb.org/beliefs-and-teachin
gs/how-we-teach/new-evangelization/yea
r-of-faith/life-marriage-liberty.cfm

I have been doing it for years and am running out of ideas for what to eat, so I am going to ask you all what are your favorite meatless meals?

Do you do the call to prayer Fridays?

Venting Follows ____I've been struggling of late....the parishes I attend have gone off the deep end in many ways, while the priests are wonderful, my sister and I have gotten some extremely nasty comments about attending Mass together and how we "need to realize that this is a service for Families and that parents don't want to have to explain YOU to our kids" --- Umm, ok so sisterhood is an issue for you? At another parish the parents refused to allow their children to shake hands with my sister during the passing of the peace.
Really folks, the fact that you have kids should not impact my relationship with my SISTER at all!! If you have such a hard time explaining sisters ( who do not kiss, hug or touch each other at all before, during or after Mass-- we even bow for the Rite of Peace) you need to deal with your prejudices, but I am not going to stop attending Mass because your idea of "family friendly" is offended. If Jesus could hang out with prostitutes and tax collectors, I can attend Mass with my sister!
The priests in said parishes have been told - not by us, but by a deacon --and the next step is to talk to the bishop. This is insane --- I am not feeling too family friendly at this point, it;s a good thing most of my family is away on vacation ( that I could not go on because of a new-ish temp job)

Take Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will, all that I have and possess. Thou hast given all to me. To Thee, O lord, I return it. All is Thine, dispose of it wholly according to Thy will. Give me Thy love and thy grace, for this is sufficient for me.

I'm reminding everyone to start the Divine Mercy Novena today...

Our church went to St Paul's to walk through the Doors of Mercy last night...a powerful experience...God's mercy is unlike anything we can imagine...His love knows no bounds...
Even when Jesus was going through the torture and death, He knew there would be those who would still reject Him...but, He loves them still... What a God we have!
