I feel like I am finally truly getting myself on track. I feel more motivated then I have in quite awhile. I just need to hang on to it for dear life.
How is everyone else doing?

heat is really starting to take a toll on me I feel so drained I have a hard time doing anything. I guess when I get used to this it will be a bit easier. Hard to move in the summer from a house with working central AC to one without takes some getting used to. We are making progress but still aways to go.

Still quiet in here lost 3 lbs this week so at the 20 mark. Move is going along slowly so hot emoticon here try to stay in the cool rooms and work in the rest of the house in the morning or evening when it is cooler.
Most my exercise is walking dog (no fenced yard) emoticon and unpacking and setting things up.

Feeling a bit lonely here. How is everyone doing this week? I have had a good week for the most part just a couple of days that were off for one reason or another.

Hi Silver! Labor day wasn't great for my family and I. We went camping and it rained on us. I wasn't feeling well Sunday. (Possibly because the wind and rain were not a good combo for me so I was in bed all day. Yesterday it picked up a bit and I was able to accomplish some things. The good thing is that I dropped 5 pounds???

Well just got the news that I am being moved back to the meat department. Not sure what my days off will be or what hours I will be working now. The move takes place as of Sunday. I will miss alot of the people I have been working with. But, I will see alot of the customers I have been missing. There is good and bad points both ways.

Not my husband lol we think it's his kidneys...but we shall see! Much better place mentally this week. Had a Patty week and just relaxed when I wasn't working. Drank my coconut water and rehydrated more quickly. Tastes like poo in my opinion but it's so good for you...and MUCH better for you than those yucky sports drinks...and the electrolytes from the pharmacy.

Hope everyone is doing great! Have an awesome weekend!!!!! xoxoxox

Been a little quiet in the last week or two as been dealing with my man's health and him being in the hospital, working extra shifts, and I've actually gotten a little dehydrated which was BIZARRE as I drink lots of Ionized Alkaline water! (it's 6x more hydrating)...and I always drink 2 liters+ a day...think I was just rundown...but all good now...coming back with a vengeance! :) Also started working on the gym floor...pretty cool! Hope everyone is doing great in month 2 so far!!! Just keep going...life can hand you heaps of lemons...keep sqirting, keep drinking, and zesting and one day they won't be there anymore! LOL

Load was larger than normal and I ended up working a half hour longer than I get paid f emoticon or. Yesterday thought I might be able to leave early. That did not happen. Back to work tonight. Been off for the last 2 nights. I will be solo again tonight as my co-worker is on vacation. He will be back next week! We are having inventory on Sunday so I am hoping that we will have a small load tonight. Tomorrow we are not receiving anything. I am busy doing laundry and cleaning house today. Hope everyone has a wonderful day and a Spark wonderful weekend! emoticon

I normally take at least 2 bottles of water to work with me and refill them twice while I am at work. If I don't do that I find it hard to drink water. But doing so makes it so easy!!

Drinking water is hard to do when you are working but it truly fills you up if you drink a glass before you eat.

Hi all! I am doing well. I am still motivated. SP helps alot! The only thing I wish is that the scale would move more but my clothes arent as snug as they were so I know something is going on. I will keep working out and work on motivation because that is the fuel that is going to drive getting to my goal. So far so good posting nutrition, fitness and weight. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Back from beach trip. Still not on task with sparkpeople and tracking food and exercise. I did well up to a point and then I got out of focus on tracking my food. My DH got a tooth ache on the trip and it was a little stressful. He had three dentist appointments this week and another on Monday.

We went to Tai Chi on Thursday which is always good and things are calming down.

Jenn - congrats on the 9lb loss!! That's amazing!!

I had an NSV today - Mexican food is my weakness (hence the topic I posted asking for healthy ideas to order when planning isn't an option). But because I couldn't plan ahead to go for lunch today & I had already packed my lunch. I'm opting to eat my packed lunch instead of going out to Mexican & using way too many calories for the day.

Saved about 500 calories by eating my planned lunch vs. a taco salad.

I have a question for everyone. Yesterday I did an intense workout at Planet Fitness. This morning I woke up and my stomach was so sick and crampy I wonder if this has happened to any of you before? I feel better now...

bbgirl--I had a similar experience with flat bread pizza from Chili's. I tought it was a pretty good choice and the bread is flat..........so, I checked online to see the calories when I got home......unbelieveable......1310 for the whole dish......I'm glad I split it with my DH.....so I had a 700 calorie snack.........the sodium was off the charts too......I had not logged that much sodium since I started.

That's why I said part of the journey is not just getting the weight off..........it's learning and gaining awareness of what we are eating........

Thanks BESUSAN75. Definitely takin baby steps here lol. And I'm fighting against all the holiday weekend foods too. Ugh! Totally agree with ya on the vegetable thing. Why is that? Maybe cause our brains know that veggies are good for us and there's no fun in that lol :)

I'm still trying to get the hang of spark. I like it since there are so many great resources but it's a bit confusing too since there are so many links and groups. I just joined teh 28 day challenge with hopes it will help me keep my exercise going for longer than a week at a time. I am good at drinking the 8 glasses of water, but I havent been hitting my calorie goal (not on purpose) honestly sometimes i just find myself skipping meals because i've gotten busy and just forgot to eat. It seems like i keep losing the same 2lbs only for them to reappear again

I have been looking and tracking some but today I really want to be serious, at least track everything and think about it during the day. Have a great one everyone.... We got this!!! I figure if I can raise 6 kids, graduate from Texas A&M with a BS and then later get a masters on line (not in that order emoticon ) that I can do this.... emoticon

Yesterday was a good day. Going out to lunch and leaving for the beach tomorrow. It's going to be harder to track my nutrition. We are going for Thai food today. I think I can make a good choice from the menu. My DH and I are staying in a condo by ourselves next week. I hope I can eat sensibly like I'm at home. It may be harder to track the nutrition but I still think I can eat right. That's the main thing. I'm going to try not to eat out a lot. I mainly want to just go to the beach.

BBgirl--don't feel bad...it's time to feel good..at least you are building awareness of your food choices....these changes don't happen overnight.

Yesterday, I needed to eat some vegetables to get my nutrition for the day in. I started thinking about how I didn't have an appetite for a serving of vegetables. However, I realized that I could put down some pizza if I had it. Why can I overeat with things like pizza and sweets ect but when it comes to healthy things like vegetables I don't want to eat them.

Thanks for the welcome SHERRY and BESUSAN75! :)
Okay sooo Day 1 didn't go so hot other than my actual work out time involved playing in my weekly softball game :/ That's something right? Aside form that I drank plenty of water and tea Lots in fact! But my food choices were not so great, which included papa johns pizza. It was good but guilt took over and now I feel miserable. Oh well, tomorrow's another day and another chance to make it right :)

Today, I went over on my calories by about 100, but I also got quite a bit of exercise. We spent 5 hours at the zoo. We had so much fun! We let our Zoo Friends membership lapse, and I forgot how much I love spending time there. We will definitely be spending more time there this year.
I'm waking up at 5:00 a.m., not on purpose. I need to work on getting a full night of sleep.

Drinking water really helps. I've been drinking enough water. I start early in the day and drink after exercise. I just drink water and decalf iced tea so the teacounts too. I get 4 glasses of water and other liquids.

My nutrition is in range. I really like to look at the numbers. I like being able to manipulate them. I did two exercise classes too.

Don't have plans to do anything for July 4th except look at some fireworks.

I edited my introduction several times. I think I have got it down. Be sure to read the latest edition. It's long when you have pushed past 5 decades and then some.

Hello Everyone!

MYKKISUQ thanks for the tips!

BESUSAN75 I have been on and off SparkPeople since 2006 and still discover new things. I also find it very helpful taking things slow. Right now I am concentrating mostly on 8 glasses of water and tracking all my food and exercise.

I tried Spark People and was not sure about it. I closed my account and then reopened it. I did it last week. I like tracking my nutrition. Using the nutrition helped me a lot. I'm still in discovery mode. I'm really just taking things one day at a time.

Day 2. I missed breakfast. I overslept and then got held up at city hall trying to get our fireworks permit. I had egg rolls and fried rice from the snack bar. I realize that wasn't healthy, but I was starving. Dinner was Lean Cuisine Sesame Chicken and a big glass of Black Box Riesling.
I did the 10 minute workout on the 28 day bootcamp and walked 1.1 mile and had my 8 glasses of H2O. I may have another couple of glasses of water before bed.
I'm feeling VERY motivated and very excited about keeping this going. Check back with me in 3 weeks. That's usually when I get sidetracked. I won't this time. I won't, I won't, I won't.

@Sherry155 - I totally understand the candy addiction. A couple of tips from the wife of a fruity candy addict and a chocolate addict (that would be me)...
#1 - No candy in the house. If you have to go out of your way to get it, it just makes it too much trouble.
#2 - Mixed nuts. We make Ziploc baggies of 1/2 cup of mixed nuts for my husband to take to work. I realize the calorie count is probably higher than we want, but he's diabetic. So, it replaces the Skittles he used to carry around, and calories from protein are better than empty sugar calories any day.
#3 - Fruit, fruit, fruit, fruit. I go to Sam's every Saturday and buy the HUGE oranges, mandarin oranges & pineapple wedges (in their own juice), apples, bananas, etc. Just don't buy 2 bunches of bananas, because no matter how green you get them, they'll all be overripe by Tuesday.
I hope this helps some.

And welcome Sherry155 & Calmcoolchaotic!

Hi Everyone!

Today is also my day one. I had done weight watchers for a long time, but going to the meetings got too expensive and I love the community here at SparkPeople. I have used SparkPeople in the past, but had never used it as a guideline for my food tracking, etc. I'm hoping I can change all of that!

Yes, well done MYKKISUQ. Yesterday was my day 1. I didn't do so well eating wise but I did exercise. Eating is something I have to work on. I have to find new alternatives to candy. Candy is so easy to prepare(just rip open the wrapper) and you can get it everywhere. I'm wishing I had a chef following me around ready to whip up all kinds of healthy yummy stuff. emoticon Things would be so much easier.

Day 2: Piece of toast with Nutella and one medium banana for breakfast. Chicken sandwich with avocado, lettuce, tomato & cheese with potato salad & a pickle spear for lunch.
I'm currently on my 3rd/4th glass of water (thank you employer for the 16 oz. water bottles - makes it easier to keep track).
I'm doing the 28-day bootcamp workout challenge, so I'll be doing the 10-minute "Cardio Kick Workout," plus I'll probably take a walk after dinner. With the weather in the 80's, it is perfect for going outside and getting some fresh air!
We got to bed late last night after watching a fireworks show, so I'm kind of tired today. I've got a 10 hour day tomorrow, and then I'm looking forward to a 5 day weekend!

Hello MYKKISUQ!
Day 1 is day 1....period...you ate 1/2 a container of ice cream...so just get right back on gtrack at the next meal..NOT THE NEXT DAY! As they say...if you drop your phone, do you automatically stomp on it to ensure it doesn't work anymore!? Silly isn't it!

Secondly...WHY did you eat all that ice cream? No judgment from me..but that's where you should start to examine your choices...This is NOT about deprivation but it is about learning WHY you make the choices that you make and how to improve each and every day!

If you DECIDE to make it happen, nothing will stand in your way...you still might pig out on fatty food here and there...but you won't panic or cave or feel guilty...you will enjoy it and move forward and make sure the rest of the day you load up on lean proteins and lots of green veggies and water! :)

Congratulations on your 10 years! NOW it's all about you. TODAY IS DAY 1! NOW GO OUT AND MAKE IT HAPPEN! YOU CAN DO IT!

Happiness is a choice! Live with Passion!

Day 1. I'm actually planning on starting tomorrow since I already ate about 1/2 a container of ice cream this morning. My husband and I have agreed to start over as of July 1. It's a new year for us since we're about to celebrate 10 years of marriage, today is his birthday so it's a new start, and my fiscal year starts tomorrow at work. So, for us this is the perfect time to begin again.
