I've escaped the lunatic asylum!
I know I don't work at a lunatic asylum, but it sure felt like it this week.

...so I took Friday off work.
If I wake up on time I'm going to go to the forest tomorrow!

Having a good eating day today, staying on track and not over eating!!!

Woke up in good mood. I had a good nights sleep only woke once. This morning i did some rearranging of the stuff stored in my bedroom corner. Everything looks so nice now and will be easier to get to. Now I just have one more area to rearrange the storage space next to bedroom door and still need to do the closet. I started it at least. Lol

I have my meals all planned and will be eating healthy and lite. I took a nice walk around the neighborhood and all is well most everyone is wearing a mask as am I.

Oh, I hate the dark and dreary days of late fall. Nearly constant rain. All I want to do is sleep. At least snow is brighter.

What's done is done, Kathryn! Yesterday is not today. Get up and keep going forward.

Had a good start to my day did ST and 30 wall push ups. Than went to the Dollar Tree store and bought a mess of candy. Binged out on that and now feel really down. Tomorrow is a new day and I can do it up right.

That's how I do the scale, too, Kathryn. The down side is having a doc appt after breakfast with all your clothes and shoes on - it NEVER matches!

I am one away from "skinny", but I'm afraid I got here too fast. I'm going to put the brakes on, I think, and start eating a little more. 10 lbs in a month? Too fast.

I am closing my eyes and ears til election day. All I can do now is cross my fingers and plead with the universe.

Tuesday
High if 78 today but only 48° right now at 7am. I am kind of cold but hubby doesn't want the heater turned on yet. Oh well save a little money on the electric bill.

Today the scale was my friend. I weigh the same way each day, first thing in the morning after going to the bathrooms and without clothes.

Going to midtown today to pick up a dozen bagels and smear. I am making Tuesday bagel day and I am freezing the rest of the bagels.

My exercise today will be walking around midtown and around my apartment. I heard about an 80 year old women who met her weight loss goal by walking around her apartment. Good enough for her good enough for me. I am also going to use the peddler for an hour while my favorite show is on.

Monday
People are stocking up on bottled water thinking the virus will affect our water supply. I don't worry about everything that people come up with. I hear TP will be in short supply again. I stocked up on that in March before everyone else did as my friend in China said to prepare if you have to stay in lock down. A corner of my bedroom is a stock pile of TP.

Today is Supermarket day. I got up at 1:30 ready to face the world. I have masks, hand sanitizer and great out look on the day. I am doing liquid fasting today and have planned an iced caramel coffee from McDonalds. After that will have all the ice water I want, keep em coming I love ice water. I am postponing eating until tomorrow. I like saying postponing instead of saying I can't have any food today. Last night I had the garlic mashed potatoes I was craving and the scale shows it. I just noted the reading and went on from there not letting it get me down. I know it is water weight and will soon be gone. I did my ST in the afternoon I almost forgot all about it. But I got it done. I just remembered I need to do my 25 wall push up. Will go do that now. How are you two doing on your push ups? I have my long mirror set up so I can see my form on doing floor pushups and will try and do them again.

I think I kind of like your grandfather, Jeroen!

I just bought another box of disposable makes - they were reasonably priced and I probably should have bought 2 boxes. I think of that now..

But I hardly go out, so these should last a while. Honestly I have reused a few when I stop in the convenience store and nobody's there except the clerks, and they are masked up and behind plexiglass.

That video is a keeper, Jeroen. Nice views to keep in mind when you need a happy place to visualize (like in an mri tube!)

Oh my, Kathryn, it would suck to have no water for that long, or power! I haven't had to live through that, I can't imagine. The Big East Coast and Canada Black Out was only a few days.

That one was started by some untrimmed tree - here in Cleveland, to our shame - that caused a critical transformer to blow that caused a cascade all around the north-eastern power grid.

Actually, it was kind of fun being in the dark. It was summer and all the neighbors came out and sat on steps, or they brought out chairs, and talked to each other by candlelight. Got old fast, though and I was grateful when it was over.

Not having water would so much harder on our First World selves. I don't think we have a river or stream close by that would be safe to even wash your clothes in!

Here Comes the Sun!

Sub-humans I like it, that's what to call them.

I have not listened to the news in some days so do not know where we are on cases.

I just bought some new masks and I have a friend who is sending me masks she makes. I only wear them one day and put in washing machine. I bought a box of 50 disposable ones if I don't have a clean one for some reason, like we have no water for a few days. One time in the old building we had no laundry room for months. I think masks are the way to go.

Jackie emoticon . on the weight loss. Keep up the good work

People can disagree with what governments are doing all they want, they can even protest against the regulations, all good, it's literally part of the law to have that right to protest.

But once someone takes up to attacking healthcare workers or try to destroy healthcare property such as test locations in The Netherlands, or trying to set fire to the German federal research institute for disease prevention.. then only the title "sub-human" works.

My grandfather (WWII veteran) used to say "just shoot 'em" whenever criminals were mentioned that clearly weren't ever going to learn how to behave. as a kid I used to think that was a bit crude.. but I find myself agreeing with that saying more and more.

..........

ON TO AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT and much, much more relaxing subject.

I released another video! This time not one of my usual hiking videos, but a video that shows just the scenic views that I saw while I was out on my last hike. 10 minutes of various static shots accompanied by the sounds of the environment.

I can barely contain my disgust, anger, terror - all the words that these idiots are trying to make us feel.

I am not a big beer-drinker, but I'll join you for that one.

Record cases in the US, record cases in Ohio. We have 88 counties, most are now red - even the most rural ones who were barely touched initially. And many of them are verging on purple.

My Gov did a good job at the beginning. I'm starting to think it takes a little more than a good leader.

Today is Sunday and it is my 'cheat day', I'm going to stay with the small portions - I'm just going to have more of them!

Stay safe.

We hit ANOTHER new record on Friday: 10,007 cases in 24 hours.

Meanwhile sub-humans are still partying and have taken to vandalising Covid-19 test locations, and of course attacking police and even healthcare workers because they think it's all a fake virus or whatever the hell their lack-of-a thought process makes them think.

I know, I'm sounding more and more like a grumpy old man every day, but I genuinely believe that some of these "people" don't deserve the air they're breathing.

...I need a beer.

Ok, now I won't worry about you Kathryn!! emoticon

I take a whole slew of things besides meds, but except for the multi, they are all prescribed (Calcium and Vit D) or strongly recommended by the appropriate doc. Fistfuls of pills, morning and night.

Cases are soaring in my neighborhood. I found that zipcode map. Scary. I always wear a mask and carry hand sanitizer.

BIL has a gang of Grumpy Old Men who used to meet for coffee once a week. He found out they ARE STILL DOING IT! Crazy Grumpy Old Men.

My very small portions seem to be working, I've lost another 2! Almost at Skinny!!

And Good Job keeping up with the weights and peddler - You Go, Girl!

Yes Jackie I take a daily vitamin and a vitamin C supplement I end my dinner every night with them. They are my dessert.

Today did my strength training routine, walked during retail therapy, and did the peddler for 60 minutes.

Jeroen enjoy your beers this week end and hoist one for me emoticon

My Code Red county is quickly approaching Purple. I don't remember the specifics of Purple, but it's about to be awful. Wait, let me look it up -

"A Level 4 (purple) health advisory indicates "severe exposure and spread" of the virus. Under this designation, individuals should only leave home for necessary supplies and services, the governor said."

I found that on a Cincinnati news website. It goes on to say other restrictions (Business closures etc.) as necessary. AND MASKS. I know parts of the county is having trouble with bars, but I don't have any around me.

I haven't seen one of those zipcode maps with the numbers for a while, those were helpful. i may have to search for it. My county is wide and deep - many zipcodes.

Kathryn, I do hope you take a daily vitamin, because your liquid day sounds like it has no nutrition! Jeroen's joke about beer isn't really such a joke!

Today will probably be our last 70F. It's way above average for this time of year. Tomorrow plunges to high 40s - below average for a daytime temp! Time to break out the winter coat, I guess.

9271 new cases.. roughly 500 more than yesterday, which was already a spike of roughly 600 more than the days before. A spike within a spike, and another new unwanted record.

My job's so chaotic lately, I'm hitting the 10k steps mark while I'm working.

My liquid diet's definitely going to be a couple of beers this weekend. only one more day!

On liquid fast days I drink mainly water and have a little Snapple tea diet drinks. And I have a treat of an iced caramel coffee from McDonalds

Good morning,
The scale was down today to almost my small goal of 155 lb it was 155.8 lb close enough for me. I am rewarding myself with a book from Amazon " 100 More Days Of Weight loss". I got a good used copy from of all places the Goodwill. I had to go through Amazon but I am getting it. My next small goal 150 lb.

Today no caregiver coming so will be doing my peddler and caring all day for my disabled hubby for my exercise today.

I'm a while away from skinny and won't be getting any closer this year emoticon

8743 new cases today, another explosion compared to the low 8000's we've had for four days in a row before. A lot more people are starting to wear masks now, and I'm still only going out for work and my one supermarket trip a week.

Great pic, Kathryn - you are looking fab!!

I am down a surprise pound this morning. 3 to go before the weight where daughter greeted me at the airport with "Hey, skinny!"

Not that I was skinny, but the last time she saw me I was all blown up from steroids, but it sure felt good to hear that!

Then I put the 10 on that I have struggled with for years. I'm not really sure why this is coming off so fast. Some is, I'm sure, flab replacing muscle, but I am also eating very small portions. My goal is another 10 lower than "skinny".

That's where I was when I walked with my first walking buddy - who pushed me further than I thought I could go.

She has since joined an evangelical church and travels to Africa several time a year. She does good works, but evangelism isn't my bag.

Still I am grateful to have had her in my life for a few years!

I need Spark People. I get on here first thing in the morning answering Sparkmail and i go back any free time I have. Great to do while Ron is sleeping. I end my Spark time just before starting dinner. Tonight making some chicken in my new air fryer.

Today I went to midtown to pick up a med and than went to the Goodwill thrift store, walked for an hour. I wore a pair flowered jeans that I could not fit in before. I posted a photo on C-feed, from size 20 to size 8. My weight says around the same three pounds up or down. I am going back to my intermittent fasting.

Ohio is breaking records and the local schools (I have 3 close by) are going back to remote learning. I can't believe they ever opened the schools to begin with. Makes me nervous to know there are enough cases that close that they are closing again.

I know it's hard to have the kiddies home, but still. My daughter is in an ideal situation, hubby has a good job and can work from home, she's been a stay-at-home mom since the older one was born.

She is going crazy making sure the kids are learning! All kinds of trouble as the schools figured out how to handle distance learning. It's better now, but not ideal. And still hard.

The older boy is in accelerated 5th/6th grade - what a time to have to learn on your own! He's been getting help over Skype from my niece's hubby - who is an ACTUAL ROCKET SCIENTIST, so that helps. (he does classified work, so if he told us what he's working on, he'd have to kill us...)

Kathryn, we are here for you. You have done a spectacular job (as have we all). It's hard to keep it up, that's why we are here - for the support. Even Jeroen, who says he isn't pushing it too hard for now.

Face it, people - we need each other!

I have been wearing a mask since March and feel weird not wearing one around other people. I think I will wear one from now on. I have a Spark friend making me some now. I look each day for the package like it is Christmas. Lol

I am glad you are here and thank you for all the help you have given me to lose 50 pounds but I still need your help daily. I face food addiction every day. I am handling it as best I can but it is hard when our caregivers give us food or need to go to McDonald's for coffee every time we go out shopping. I was good today and just had a Diet Coke from McDonalds.

Hubby had s good night last night and did not need me until 8am. He was fine to be left alone while our caregiver took me off shopping at two different Goodwill. Wednesday when she comes back we are going to a one the next city over

In pretty much all of Asia, people are simply hardwired to wear masks when there's virusses about, it kind of comes with the whole extreme overcrowding thing. Even a simple flu virus could spread like crazy with that kind of high density population, so wearing a mask is pretty much a normal thing to do in various cases.

Whereas we in the west think it's weird and many refuse to wear a mask even during a freaking global pandemic because of that reason alone. "but it's weird"

8000+ for 3 days in a row at this point, we're not rising AS fast anymore, but the numbers are definitely still way too high, higher than the average for most European countries.

China is an authoritarian, Communist state and Xi can order the people to stand on their heads if he wants to, and the people have to do it or risk prison and maybe worse.

Our Federal government doesn't have the right to do that. That's up to the state Governors and some mandated masks and some didn't.

But a lot of the ''''People" decided that infringed on their right to "freedom" and apparently are too stupid to equate their freedom with other's deaths.

That's it. That's my post.

Jeroen It is so sad there are so many people getting this virus. Masks could have stopped it, worked for the Chinese. They mandated masks right away and advise to wach hands. They were checking temps coming and going from apartment houses and going in to shops and work. While we were all running wild.

Jackie you are doing great emoticon emoticon happy dance for you. I am staying steady so far but am working my but off to stay on track. emoticon

I don't really know what's driving our spike, but then I live in a corner of nowhere, and I don't see with my own eyes what's going on. My 4 places I visit, everyone is behaving well.

I know there have been family parties that have spread it - probably bars and restaurants, too. Hard to eat and drink with a mask on. And it's getting too cold to have patios open - 40F nights, 50+ during the day.

All I can do is make sure I am doing the right things.

Yes, Kathryn, the last time I went to the doc, that was the routine, too. It must be in the guidebook ; )

Scale is really behaving!! I am happy. 5 lbs below magic.

7984 new cases today, yet another new record.
Germany also hit a record at 7334 new cases.

This means that The Netherlands (17 million people) are getting more daily cases than Germany (83 million people) at this point, which really shouldn't be happening.

Too many dumb people. Partying and living like there's not a problem going on at all, not realising that their ignorance is only going to make this whole thing take longer. I'm glad I don't deal with people much.

I clean everything that comes in my house and my hands after I touch anything.

We did not get a new bed as they could not find anything wrong with the bed but the joints needed to be oiled. I did have them switch the bed control to the right side as the way they had it hubby had to sleep on the cord to have the controller handy for his right hand.

Jeroen sorry so many cases are coming up. Is it all the young people who were hanging out at night clubs?. I believe that is what our cases are. And the mass of young people protesting with no masks on. The last protest they were wearing masks. There is a mandate that you have to wear one in the street.

Jackie when I went to the doctors for blood work they took my temp at the door. And they had the waiting room chairs really spaced out. They had the child's play area boarded up. And the child's book shelves gone. I have to go there again on the 29th.

Scary stuff. 17 States are spiking up (including mine) here and my county has moved back up into the red zone.

Jeroen, I think you are smart to curtail your walking. I will continue to carefully visit my 2 groceries and 2 drug and convenience stores as infrequently as possible.

I've got a couple doc appts coming up, They are at a hospital, and although that is where sick people are, the offices aren't close to the patients, and I figure they are more vigilant about screening and disinfecting than the local "stop and shop" is.

Another new record! 7791 new cases today.

My walks are definitely gone at this point. I did my weekly shopping trip yesterday and that's by car as I now take a week's worth of groceries in one go.

Yesterday I got home with a smashing headache, so I went to lay down after dinner and... that was the end of my day. When I woke up I had to go back to work!

Today we are getting a new hospital bed for hubby. They are coming between 12 & 2. We have no caregiver today so I am staying home. I am doing my peddler while watching TV. I am cooking BBQ chicken legs in the crock pot. I will serve green beans and rice -a-roni with it

Ha, Kathryn!

eeew, mommy, look what that lady is doing!

Speed walking is good, gets the heart rate up and burns the cals. Keep your arms bent and pump.

Chilly day, today.

And it's amazing how much better my back feels - I've been doing my yoga kind of regularly, especially the floor stuff, using my block and strap. It kind of straightens everything out.

I have to push buttons on the elevators. I use my right index finger and than put sanitizer on it. I roll those my finger and thumb around untll they are dry. People probably think I'm rolling a booger around. LOL

My shoulder is not hurting today so I did my strength training routine. I have not done it for months as I had tried to increase my routine to 30 minutes with little rest in between and that hurt my shoulder. My doc wants me to get it X-rayed but I think it healed it's self.

Took an almost hour long walk around my neighborhood going away from the heart of town. It was cold when I set out. I walked as fast as I could and broke out in a sweat. Had my heart really pumping. I am going to do this more often. My other walks are fine but this speed walking is fun too.

Jeroen, 7400 cases - that's crazy! And sounds like sensible precautions. Maybe almost not enough. How is it in your town?

Kathryn, I too, don't go anywhere without masks, sanitizer and wipes. The 4 stores I go to all require masks, as do all stores per the governor. And 2 of them, the grocery stores, have crews that wipe down the carts before they even bring them back inside.

Ohio has increasing cases, but at a slower rate than almost all the states. Probably not for long, though.

I talked to bro about his Christmas plans, if he was feeling well enough to make the drive. He said it didn't matter, Ohio is on the list of states that New Jersey requires you to quarantine for 2 weeks if you visit.

Fall has definitely moved in. I'm afraid even 70F days are gone. But the leaves are spectacular! Probably start falling in less than 2 weeks, though. Sigh.

All stores in my town call for masks as does the bus and train. Of course the doctor's office too. Our restaurants are take out or outside dining. I have yet to eat anywhere but at home. I do take a drink of water while out but not where other people are. I am always using hand sanitizer. I think people must think I am crazy but I have to have things this way.

Today took long walk to pick up med. It was 60 minutes non stop walking I loved it but my glasses kept fogging up. I took them off for awhile but had to put them on to see what train was coming to the station going home. I don't want to get on the wrong one. They both go up town but one has a station near my home. I had had enough walking, I needed rest. The train trip is only five minutes so not a long enough rest time.

New "record".. just a few shy of 7400 new cases today.

The country's gone into partial lockdown as of tomorrow, for 4 weeks.

Businesses have to close at 8PM (except for supermarkets.)
Supermarkets can no longer sell alcohol past 8PM.
Bars are closed, restaurants can only open their takeaway section.
Masks are about to be mandatory in all public buildings.

It is scary be safe both of you, don't let your guard down

Had a nice day today. I took the light rail train to midtown and walked around for an hour. I stopped at the thrift store and found two pairs of jeans that fit just right. One pair was midnight black like I really wanted.

Good grief, Jeroen! Those are frightening numbers! Please, please be safe. I have always worried about you going in to work every day, but I know you are a sensible sort.

Have you heard anymore about the 'new guy' and the 'old guy'?

Kathryn, I salute you back with water.

I only drink 2 cups of coffee in the morning, no sugar, just a little unsweetened Almond Milk. Then I drink water all day. I have a water filter pitcher in the fridge, but this time of year, I can't drink it cold.

So my salute will be with cool-ish - and not ice - water, but the sentiment is the same!

We've officially passed the USA.

In the USA, about 130 out of 100.000 people are testing positive daily.
The Netherlands.. 161 out of 100.000 people are testing positive daily.

During the first wave, the highest total daily amount of new cases was 1335.
This second wave, the peak so far (yesterday) is 6499 cases in a single day.
The government is announcing new measures on Tuesday, and are saying that a full lockdown might not be far away if the situation doesn't improve..

I stopped taking Meals on Wheels meals as I was tired of having to eat one a day as more were coming. I wanted to sometimes just have a PB&J for lunch like my hubby does every day. I am going to pass on food not made by me this week. I am going to McD Wednesday but just having iced caramel coffee. I looked up the calories for it and it was the same as my Starbucks Peach Green tea lemonade 190 calories. I can work that in my program. Today passing on caffeine. I am drinking lots of ice water. I want to make my caffeine drink to be special drinks not like they have been of every day. I salute you all with a large glass of ice water

Well, thanks. Now I'm really going to worry about my neighbor. And ME and Bil, too, come to that!

I pray that you are well and stay that way, Jeroen. Please keep us posted.

Even with my very carb - and downright sugar, and fat day, scale is still down 3 1/2 from magic number. I'll take it. I want to get body used to this as "normal" before I aggressively work on the next few. I know my body, it'll spring back to one above magic without even trying. That seems to be a place it likes. Too bad I don't.

Even staying safe and barely going anywhere can put you at risk..

We have a new IT guy at work as of Friday morning, he's being trained by our current IT guy, who came into my office to get some computer parts which I handed to him.
All of a sudden the new IT guy had to go home in a hurry.

Turns out that last Monday, the new IT guy was talking to a former colleague of his old job for about ten minutes, and the wife of that former colleague tested positive a few days later.

With that former colleague's wife testing positive, the former colleague has to go into quarantine to get tested, until that test result's in, the new IT guy also has to quarantine himself.

Chances are that former colleague will test positive, then our new IT guy will have to get tested as well. if he also tests positive then our current IT guy will have to quarantine himself, and as I spent some time with him sorting out computer parts, I'll probably have to quarantine as well.

No matter how much you try and stay away from people.. it could literally be the wife of a former colleague of a new colleague being trained by an existing colleague who comes in to collect some items.

Scale's ok, so I am having a cheat day, sort of. I just splurged and ordered DoorDash Wendy's.

I got 2 Jr. Cheeseburgers and a Southwest Salad with chicken for tomorrow. I ate the 2 cheeseburgers. Ok, that's kind of okay, they're small, and since all I've had today is a small bowl of whole grain cereal with plain original Almond Milk. BUT, I am about to eat a big spoonful (maybe 2) of Chocolate Fudge Frosting - no cake.

Thanks for the heads up about coffee filters, Kathryn! Grocery store tomorrow, and that is on the list.

Got my ballot postmarked at the Post Office this morning. Off and gone, and I've done my part.

Daughter and fam drove 11hrs straight, up to Colorado to visit with niece and fam, last Friday. They've all been confined to home with occasional forays to grocery stores, so they figured they were safe together. They came home last night, 11 hrs straight, and discovered that the freezer had died several days earlier. She said it's a gross soupy mess. Welcome Home.

Went on a mission to find coffee filters. Hard to find as people are putting them in their face masks. I need them for making coffee. I got the last pack on the shelf at the drug store. That was part of my exercise today.

I am doing good on my eating today. Our caregiver Lydia and I were out and got a take out meal for hubby but I passed on getting anything for me and just got an iced coffee instead.

BIL stopped over yesterday to fix something in the garage, I made some coffee and we took a break on the patio.

Neighbor, 84 and battling colon cancer but still gets around pretty well, came over to sit and chat. We were almost socially distant.

At one point, he grew alarmed and said we were not wearing masks! I said, I'm safe. I don't go anywhere and when I do, I wear a mask and wash my hands. BIL said the same.

But, I can't help but worry about him, and OMG, am I a carrier! What if he gets it and dies? I will blame myself and be miserable. Even though I am 99.9% sure I haven't been exposed.

I want this to go away soon, but my guess is it'll be around for years, even with a vaccine.

Scale is behaving so nicely!

We hit nearly 6000 new cases today, at this rate we'll be hitting 10,000 cases daily in about a week.. which is way too much for a country with "only" 17,000,000 people.

What causes the spike? Well.. idiots.
People gathering and partying (illegally) because they refuse to believe something's actually wrong. People protesting the "oppression" put onto them by the government, just all-round complete idiots. Then these idiots leave their illegal parties and go back to their jobs or wherever they go, and spread the virus around some more like a bunch of idiots. They're just.. idiots.

My mask doesn't cause my glasses to fog up anymore: I put a few small holes through the back layer and inserted a piece of metal wire so I can bend it and make the mask fit around my nose. It's the only way I'll be able to wear a mask AND be able to see where I'm going at the same time.

It doesn't do any harm to the purpose of the mask, it's meant to stop the breath and any 'particles' from the wearer from spreading around, and me blocking the upwards airflow definitely means the mask is still doing its job just fine.

I made 3 masks like that, I'm trying to keep my shopping trips down to one or at the most two a week, which means I no longer walk to the supermarket as I get a car full of groceries instead. I'm not getting as many walks in because of this, but it is what it is. I'd rather gain some weight than get COVID.

And that said, I hit the 10K steps mark while I was at work today, I've been doing a LOT of walking around at work.

(And here's hoping Sparkpeople doesn't block the word "idiots" or I'll have to type this whole post again!)

Wow, Jeroen - what happened in The Netherlands to cause that spike? We are seeing increases, too, but my county dropped out of the Red zone over summer and so far, we've stayed out.

The gov came up with this elaborate scoring system for the 88 counties of OH, with 4 levels, green, yellow, orange, red - you can kind of figure out what they mean. We've been orange for a while now.

I don't think any county is green.

I'm planning on sealing the patio tomorrow when the temps will be in the 70s. So today, I'm going over it with a good stiff broom. That oughta burn some calories!

Nice hair cut and mask. Do your glasses get.fogged up when wearing a mask. I heard you put the mask on first than the glasses. Some times I have to keep putting my glasses off and on. My hands are always clean I use.hand sanitizer like it was free, oh yeah it is with Hubby's health insurance.

Jackie I posted photos of my cut on C-feed and my page yesterday. Not the best photo as I had to take it myself.

I had a nice morning our caregiver Lydia took me to pick up a med and than to a bigger Goodwill than I go to. I bought a new purse and will not be wearing the waist pouch for the fall and winter. For those who know me I love purses. After shopping we picked up lunch for hubby breakfast for me and coffee for Lydia. I am going to have to try their iced coffee some time. I use to drink ice ocoffee all the time. Now I drink iced flavored tea.

I may not get much exercise in the next while.. With massive* COVID spikes going around.. I'm not going around! I did my groceries for basically the whole week today, I went to the supermarket with my car so I could load up, and I won't be going to the supermarket until some time next week, and it'll be with my car again!

I'm still walking quite a lot at work, I'm still hitting 10,000 steps a day, just not getting the extra steps in after work at this point.

My haircut tomorrow might be the last in a while as well, I wouldn't be surprised if we go back in lockdown soon and the barbers get closed by the government again.

Masks are "strongly advised" at this point but still not mandatory...

* and by massive I mean.. MASSIVE. Remember how I said we had like 50-150 cases a day during the summer when all was well, and then we bumped up to about 2000 a day? Well, that's 5000 a day at this point. yay.

Well, we'll have to see a pic of the new 'do!

Mine is longer than it's been for a while - I am afraid to go to a salon. The grocery store is the biggest risk I take.

Down another half pound. We'll see if it sticks, or if it has to think about it a couple times before it decides to stay off.

I try not to think of the coming months

Had a nice day today. I went walking around a park in Midtown than stopped and got my hair cut super short. I than walked over to the Goodwill. I found a really nice pair of jeans with embroidered flowers on them. They are a tad bit tight and know they will be just right by the time cooler weather comes around.

He's so disgusting. Left the hospital, I bet against docs recommendation, stood out on a balcony like Mussolini, visibly struggling to breathe normally, and saluted his helicopter. Unbelievable. And ripped his mask off. Such a pig.

If he wins the election, but the Senate goes Democrat, they can impeach him again, and CONVICT this time. Or call him incapable, if not incapacitated, and use Article 25 to throw his arse out.

Less than a month to go, and those states that have opened early voting have loooong lines. I am hopeful.

My dear bro, who helps me out financially by paying the property taxes and the phone bill, had my internet upgraded today! Nice birthday present, huh? should be easier to Skye and stream movies now.

(technically, my folks estate -the house- hasn't been probated yet - 10+ years - and he's the executor, so really, the taxes are on him.)

Today went grocery shopping with our caretaker. We have a system to get the groceries cleaned up. I stocked up on soups and crackers. i also got tuna and peanut butter to eat on the crsckers. I got lots of cereal and almond milk but I only got enough for two weeks in case we have to stay in for 14 days. I still have T-paper from February stocked up. I only bought a little at a time I never had big carts full. I thought of other people too.

I have a couple packs of disposable masks and a couple washable, I wash then in the bathroom sink. I don't go out all that much, so they have lasted.

I paid a lot less for the first package of disposables, bought long before the pandemic, than I did for the second one. And less for that than they are charging now.

The New York Times is starting to make the comparison to Boris.

Gathering up all the documents that DHS wants from me and heading out to renew my Drivers License.

I'm betting Trump has the STRONGEST and WORST COVID doctors have ever seen (please read that in his voice!) and he'll be out of the hospital by Monday, just in time to resume work as if nothing even happened.

It definitely looks like he's copying Boris Johnson at this point.

I don't know if Boris Johnson's staff were dropping like flies at the time, I don't pay that much attention to UK politics, though as I know a few people from the UK, I did hear some things about it.

Having a slow weekend, masks became almost-mandatory so I won't be getting as many shopping walks in anymore, I'm going to try and reduce my shopping trips to two a week so I don't burn through my masks as quickly. They're washable, but I'm not going to turn on the washing machine just for the sake of washing a mask. They'll have to go with the regular washing.

Yay! The scale held steady!

Chilly and rainy today. Supposed to be dry tomorrow, but I don't believe them. Tomorrow is my birthday, and it almost ALWAYS rains on my birthday.

I did get my yoga block and strap, and I have been using them more or less diligently, and I am slowly loosening back up. Plus, my back doesn't hurt as much.

I doubt we'll have classes in Spring semester (starts in late January), but I really hope summer semester will be okay (not holding my breath). I really need the discipline of a class.

Well put, Jeroen, Kathryn.

Did others in Boris' circle come down with it? Trumptown seems to be dropping like flies. Republicans and a few White House reporters so far.

Odd times, for sure.

The good news is my scale has held for another day! We'll see tomorrow, though. I ate some bread yesterday.

I'm still waiting to see if he's actually got COVID-19 or whether it's the "Oh look people, it's serious, please wear your masks!" version like Boris Johnson (UK) seemed to have.
Boris Johnson said he was infected with COVID-19 and was working from home, only go to straight to Intensive Care a few days later. After only 3 days in Intensive Care he went back to a regular hospital bed, and a week later he was discharged.

COVID-19 doesn't take just a few weeks to recover from, especially if it's gotten so bad that you require Intensive Care. A lot of Brits say it was just a stunt to get sympathy and to scare people into wearing masks, and it sure looks like that.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Trump is pulling the same stunt right now.

If he's not pulling some stunt, I do hope he gets better, of course.

Maybe he'll start wearing masks everytime you see him, even when speaking from 200 feet away he might now wear the biggest mask we've ever seen. ;)

Good planning, Kathryn! Stick with it!

I have been eating small portions, mostly protein with lots of fiber (veggies, whole grains). Seems to be working - down 3 from the magic number for a couple days now. Down from here!

Don't want to be snarky, but Karma's a bitch, isn't it, Prez. Some hoax. Well, I do wish him well.

Today started the day off doing 30 minutes on the peddler, it felt good. I want to take this month and work it back up to 120 minutes a day.

I ate a good breakfast and a healthy lunch. I have dinner planned out and will make it heathy too. I am going to stay on track. If I feel the urage to eat what I should not or when I should not, I will write it in my journal and close the book on that urge.

Thank you for the good wishes, Jeroen. I can't believe anyone would ever vote for that clown.

The best part was Biden saying "Shut up, man".

I got so chilled yesterday, I broke down and turned the hear on! In September! Off today.

Laundry and vac'ing today. And maybe storming the bank.

I try not to think of what may or may not come in the months ahead. It is bad enough we have Covid-19 with out having the rest of this mess.

Today went to the 99¢store and spent $75. I got some fun things but was good and bought no junk food. I did not find any cookies for hubby so will have to go to the $ store or supermarket on Friday.

I walked for 47 minutes around the store, that was today's exercise. Tomorrow I start back on the peddler. I am looking forward to that. I am going to start slow with just doing 30 minutes at a time and work it back up to two sessions of 60 minutes like I was doing it before.

I'm actually watching the debate on YouTube right now.
You don't have to be into debates, it's actually quite the comedy show!

...to me anyway, I don't have that weird orange person running my country, and his debate style makes me extra happy that it's not the case.

Good luck, America!
