had a couple of falls this past week to week-and-a-half. recouping. in the meanwhile, i am staying as active as i can and discovered a GREAT wrap at the local grocery which are homemade (local) high fiber wraps. YUM, YUM! Great with stuffed some veggies and a bit of yumminess.

OMG what a week I had last week, I mean every day somewhere to go or something that had to be done and just not the norm. I was so glad to see Sunday and just really take a day of rest. It was so bad I had days I only made it on the computer to check emails and send one off to son in the Navy and do the most basic checking in.
This week should be back to normal I do hope. Had an awesome hike with hubby and son but yikes it was to be 6 mi and we went over 8. Out there in the mountains for about 5+ hours. The day was beautiful and we saw some lovely flowers and plants. It was a super day but I am so tired will be glad for dinner and rest.

Hope everyone is having a great week. Please take care and keep believing in your dreams and goals, you will make them it just takes a little time or better maybe a lot of time but it will happen as long as you believe.

The joints are giving me some trouble and I keep losing count, but I am still here. Where is everyone hiding? I think we need to make a commitment to post at least once a week!

We are having some lovely spring weather here in N CA but still wish we had more rain, but glad for what we got. Working now to get back into a good routine, LOL been a long time since before the surgery and then vacation so now getting things back in order. Had a great vacation and loved the time away. Had wonderful weather and loved dring the pacific coast highway from LA to Half Moon Bay. So many neat things to see and enjoy.
I am also getting back to cooking my meals after being on Jenny for nearly a year. I am enjoying the whole thing again. :D Also we are busy planting our veggie garden. I did plant some things last winter but with all that was going on really didint take care of it, but we still got a nice mess of chard, and I have got nice box full of carrots, Now that was a big surprise I didnt think they would do that good, Also our sweet peas are coming in nicely. tomorrow we are going hiking its been nearly a year so that will be nice to get back to that once a week.

Hey all I am off on vacation. Will be gone for 8 days, will check in when I can. Off to Nascar races and nice drive back up the CA coast. Sooooooooooooo looking forward to this time off and away with DH we are both very due for a little fun been a heck of stuff happening in the last 12 months.

Been just too busy LOL doctor releases me and back to busy schedule faster than I hoped. I have to admit i kind of enjoyed the slower pace, not so many things to do. I am glad to get back to volunteering and exercise just wish I could just slow it down a bit. Will have to look into how to get my schedule a little better for me. I am not having any pain or problems since I was released 2 weeks ago. I am feeling fine and getting stamina back. Just learned something I didnt know I really would like a slower schedule of activities. We have a trip coming up in 10 days and will be gone for 8 days.
Looking forward to vacation with DH time to relax and have some fun, although we will spend 3 days watiching Nascar and that is lots of walking and stair climbing all great exercise opportunities...LOL. Just got to watch the eating out, that is the danger zone.

I have the bestest news. Saw Dr and YES I am released and can get back to exercise, dont need to wear the binder and dont have to sleep solely on my back.....I am so happy for that alone. He did say it might be helpful to wear either biker shorts or light tummy control underwear for a bit many have problems with letting go of the binder. So that is what I did. Last night it was nice but it was strange could feel more and honestly sleeping on my side I felt body I didnt realize I had before the surgery.


Can start doing reps at least upper body so glad to be able to get back.

Ok so we have a new week. I am able to walk a little more and plan by the end of the week to add to that, not aerobic but at least a little more distance even if its still causal walking. DH still wanting me to take it slow until we see dr on the 19th, yes I agree but I know a little more wont hurt if I take it slow. Going to get hair and nails done later in the week. Not sure if he will let me drive yet, but since off pain meds it getting to be about time.

Hope everyone has a great week ahead and keeps working to make February an exceptional month. Hope by March to be getting back to doing more exercise and joining in more.

We had lots of rain but now we are having some sunny days and that is nice. It is a little warmer which is also nice right now. I am missing walking a lot, Dh went out for a walk yesterday and yes I was very jealous, but glad he is getting out there too, I am taking it easy but it is getting harder. Put tracker back on and trying each day to do a little more steps. Gives me a goal which helps. Once I look and wee that its is not even 2 weeks since surgery then I realize I am going ok. See Dr today and hope to get one drain out. Cant weight well did but with the drains and swelling it is of course wacky. I am not sure when i can, right now trying to watch my eating but to eat healthy and not with eyes but with mind.

Good morning all!

Angie it will take 6-8 weeks to return to all exercise, right now its getting the drainage tubes out that will mark he next big step.

Just a update I am going better and feeling good most days. LOL we are not even at the week mark yet. See Dr today and will see how he sees things going . I would love to get the drains out today but will see, I am not hoping for it. I have to wear a binder 24/7 and its like a sausage in a casing and not comfortable most of the time, but it does keep the strain off the abdomen so its a must. Eating is also proving a problem being in the binder gives little room. So today going to try 5-6 small meals same total amount but spread out and see if that helps. I get a little frustrated since I want to eat but just cant seem to eat. Oh and miss showers going to ask today when I might get one of those again. DH being a super guy taking care of me and dealing with the mood swings due to pain and fatigue. I have not until last night been about to really sleep a good night. Have to remain on back with knees up and back does not like it at all.
All in all I am feeling better and that mental state is helping.

Hi all surgery went well. but due to factors, blood pressure dropped and when I was home Friday mrniung had a fainting spell and ended up with an over night in the hospital. But the ok to go home and so glad to be here. they are not fully sure why but think it was was mix of meds and needing more fluid. So home and hyrdrating better, Gatorade dilutued not something I like but hey if it helps I am all for it.

Dr said I just need to be more careful and right now need to accept help so I am, LOL even have a walker just for support. But will do all they say. Dr said he feels things will be fine and he is pleased with surgery and healing so far. Mostly that i am older and need to go slower...LOL me the energizer bunny. So I guess that is my challenge to just slow down and I am trying.
Sitting here at puter is a nice change from the bed or recliner. But soon heading back to recliner.
Will get back again soon. Thinking about you all.

Hi everyone!

Just one word about Deb and her journey- inspiring! She has stayed strong and steady- no quick fixes for her! She has always been a great friend and support to me and I am so happy for all the success she has had!

I think a 25 day streak is awesome! If we strive for perfection, it is hard not to get let down. My goal for this month is to stick to my streak more than I don't stick to it!!! I am hoping for at least 51% with the idea that I'd like to get as close to 100% as I can!!

Huyana, I hope you are still streaking and working on those abs- because every little bit will add up to a big change in your body!!

I guess this is my first time visiting this particular thread. I read back a few posts and saw that Deb has lost 1/2 her body weight. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I hope that everyone is having a very happy and healthy holiday season! Is there anything you hope to accomplish before the New Year? I'm committing to completing 5 miles per day until New Years Day. I'm also starting my 100 reps streak back up.

My 1st streak of 100 abs reps per day lasted 25 days! At first I was feeling really down on myself for breaking the streak and taking 4 days off. But then I realized how impressive a 25 day streak like that is - especially considering that I started from zilch! I'm back at it this week. My goal is to meet or beat my last streak.

Hi everyone. Hope you are all having a great Holiday season. We had a massive cookie baking marathon last week, but most of those are gone out as gifts to friends and family. My oldest son is home on leave from Navy till Sat when he returns to VA. We are enjoying his time here with us, busy but good. These last few days are going to quieter and that will be nice. Even with all te holiday stuff i have been able to maintain my weight, which is a great surprise to me, normally this is a terrible time for that. But I am so close to goal that I am determined to keep being healthier this year. I am enjoying some goodies but taking them in smaller doses.
I really wanted to stop by and wish everyone a Very Merry and Healthy Christmas and Happy Holidays! I hope that as we close this year it has had more ups than downs and that next year will be even better.

Thanks for those good words, I just keep trying, I and not a quitter, I really think that is the key to just keep trying, never give up.
Been on of my busy weeks, but got stuff done and had a little me time, which I needed.

Got our living room all cleaned up and set up for the holidays. Had to empty and clean a couple more book cases and then put everything back. Finished it this morning it looks great. Only rooms left to get holiday ready are the family room and kitchen, we are working on the family room next week and then finally the kitchen by the weekend.
Son going to come home of leave for Christmas its been a year I am excited to see my sailor son very much.
I cant believe that November is half over, really where did it go? I swear that this year is in super speed mode to get over. LOL

Hope everyone has a nice week ahead. Keep focused on your goals. We can do anything that we want to we just have to keep trying.

You and I have been on teams together since way back when....
and are still here!!
I have always admired your determination. You have been steady and committed, always reassessing what needed to be done. I remember just a few months ago when you weren't losing and you decided to try Jenny Craig. You have never been afraid to challenge yourself or to try new things or to totally turn things inside out.
There are not many people who can do what you have done-
you really are a standout!

I am with you on hunkering down for the holidays! Nothing would be worth not making that goals you have worked so hard for!! Not one bite....not one thing!

I wish I could hug you in person- for all the times you have lifted me up, encouraged me to keep at it, reminding me to think of what's important...all the while you are chipping away at your own battles!

Wanted to share with you all some news, first the reno is all done. But the bigger news is that since I started SP in Jan 2009 I have been hoping one day to meet this goal and as of this week I have finally made it. I have lost 1/2 my body weight!!!!! Yep I weighed at the Dr in March 2009 and weighed 306 and as of this week I am just below 153!! I am rather shocked that is has finally happened. many long years in the hoping for this day. I mean last time I saw this weight was in my early teens and now at 62 here I am again. So this makes me 13 lbs from my healthy goal of 140. I am both happy to see the end nearing and scared all at the same time. Changes are coming and I am not so sure I am ready for them all. I am also waiting to schedule a tummy tuck it is the final part of my journey...had this pouch since well as long as I can remember and it will not go away without some help.....sadly my body just cant do this by itself, age caught up with me. I so wish I had started all this so long ago.........but I didnt and so know I will celebrate being where I am at this moment and being my healthiest ever.
I wanted to share this with you here since some of you I have known since those early days.

Angie WTG!!! on your weight loss. You are making good choices and working hard. Now what is your next goal???? I love having goals to challenge me.

Yes the holidays are hard but when you really want something it is easier to give up something short term to make that goal. Keep trying you will get there. For the holidays this year I too have a big goal, but I really want to make it so time to hunker down and work just the little hard and be willing to let go of some of those treats to make it happen. You can do it too. I know you can!!!!!

Wish you all a great rest of the weekend and week ahead. You can reach your goals, it may take time but it will happen all you have to do is believe and never really lose faith is what you can do.

My end of the year goal is 179, I have 11 lbs, will be hard with the holidays, but I am doing a 21 day walk challenge and getting 100 reps in of st most days. Lets keep pushing !

I AM BEYOND EXCITED....my plan was to get below 170 by November 1st....and I weighed in at 169.6. Moving forward and staying steady will be a big challenge...but I am just so darn happy today that I met my goal!!! I needed to celebrate!

My last week weigh in floored me...it's why I dislike the scale...this week was much better! Water weight, bloat and all of that gone. I will struggle with candy and all sorts of temptation...so mentally getting ready to overcome that and hopefully move into the 160's...a place I miss so much!

I am doing good this week, well I was until yesterday after work, got a tetus and flu shot one in each arm, so am sore and it bothered my sleep a bit. Will be doing 100 lower body moves tonight.

I had a similar week, I feel I ate too much comfort foods and not enough freebies. Did good with exercises up until mid week. Will work on doing better

I had an up & down week this week. I missed a couple of days that I shouldn't have.
I have not gotten stress eating under control, even after all these years it still takes over. My weigh in is tomorrow so we will see.
This week I am going to do the 100's everyday so I don't get off the wagon.

Trying not to overwhelm myself. Doing a 55 pirate work out for strength and cardio.
Each day doing 55 step ups and 55 wall push ups, for 110. Completed Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and today.(Thursday).

Hi everyone, Yes I am still about. Busy but that seems the norm for me. We are getting near the end of our 7 mth reno and yes very glad. Once the my dresser is done, then I will take pics and post them. Everything else is back, only exception is the cabinet DH is making that will take a little time. The bedroom which was the last room is really looking nice we are both happy with all our choices and although it took longer than we hoped we are enjoying the lovely space. All the other rooms look great too. We will have years to come to enjoy them and that is the nice part about all the hard work and time it took
Hope now that this is winding down I will find a little time to get back to my teams and sparking . Still sticking with Jenny Craig and that is going well I have lost 25 lbs since May I have not about 15 lbs to get to my goal, which I will see by the end of the year. It will be good to have this phase done and go on to the next and really start to enjoy my life and DH and have tome to do the things we like.
Have been working on my 100's and I am getting better. Enjoy the challenge of getting these done.

Nancy- so glad you are feeling better! It was a rough week for you!

Diane- I could just do a cartwheel I am so excited for you! In theory, of course because if I did a cartwheel for real, I might break something! You keep on going...you are determined and trying hard....your effort us paying off! I am so happy that this year, you are getting further and further into onderland! Embrace that feeling and don't go back!

I went against my no scale rule over the weekend and I think that is why I gave myself permission to cheat. I know that sounds silly, but seeing a number on the scale one day made me feel like I was justified in eating pizza...and popcorn, etc etc. does anyone else do that? the scale is back in the closet on the shelf. I need to get back on plan!

Nancy, I am counting my relay towards the 100, I know i do a least 100 becuz I usually do extra of some of the strength exercises,
So the scale says 191.2 two days in a row, SO EXCITED! That is down 2.5 lbs, almost too good to be believed. I am such a slow loser, i think drinking more water is helping and staying in calorie range most days

I am finally feeling better after being sick all last week. I am doing a relay with one of my other teams. Tomorrow I will try to start the 100's again. I need to rebuild my stamina!

HI everyone!

The weather is thinking about changing here- more cold days, dark in the morning. I know this will present challenges- wanting comfort food- but I keep thinking about how Thanksgiving will feel with being able to wear some of the smaller pants in my closet. I would love that!!!!

HI everyone!

So, here's a question to ponder....
what are you going to do differently this challenge than any others? Remember, if you want different results, you have to do something different!

Mine are a few of the things I know have helped me in the past-
1. BE ON SPARK! When I look back, the times I lost weight were the times I was active on a team or with a group of friends. The support really helps me.
2. My husband and son know how important this is to me...I turn 50 in February and want to weigh less- so they have been assigned the job of "tough cop!"
3. I am trying hard to keep myself prepared. I will grill chicken, etc.
4. I am trying NOT to deal with my trigger foods. I have a family of 6...so this one is hard. But, the other night when cheesecake was served, I told my sone he would have to serve it, wash the knife and put leftovers away- no chance for me to pick and sample and then just jump in if I am not touching theses things I love!
5. No scale...so far, this is helping me stay focused! I am realizing that losing 3 pounds is not something everyone else notices on me. I get so excited for any loss....and then I celebrate....and then I sabotage myself. Without the scale everyday, I focus much more on how I am feeling. I will admit that I check the tape measure sometimes! That doesn't show quick progress, but it doesn't make me feel bummed like the scale, so I like it! I will try...hard...to just weigh in weekly during the challenge.

I think I am going to put this in a blog, too- so I can remember what I said I was going to do!!

OK...weighed in...not what I wanted, but better than where it was!! Now the scale goes back in the closet so I can focus on my behaviors rather than results!

I am enjoying not facing the scale every morning. I feel good because of the effort I am making...and my scale didn't spoil that with a "not so nice" number. Helps me focus on the positives rather than starting my day feeling bad.....but I am hoping it makes me smile on Thursday. Need to get my expectations in line with reality on that!

I posted a new challenge that starts 10/8. I put my scale away for a while, so nervous to weigh in on Thursday but excited to finally feel some motivation again! I am not looking for huge results or anything...I just need to get further away from where I started the year. I have sat in the same spot for a few years now and am starting to question if I will ever make progress. Deb, you have been such an inspiration because you just keep moving forward! You have made such great progress....but it has been a steady journey for you since I have known you. I could learn a few things by watching you!

I am hoping there are others in my spot who could use an extra push to end 2015 with some happy successes!

WOW!! Nancy, I hate doing crunches!! Wow!! You are an inspiration!! This week is taking forever!! but am Loving it, cuz school starts Mon. Which means back to work 5 days a week!!

How is everyone doing? Last week I did 555 crunches, Sunday thru Thursday 100 to 135 per day. I am feeling it!

I DID ADD 100 THREADS DOWN BELOW FOR SPECIFIC THINGS...LIKE 100 PUSH UPS PER DAY-FEEL FREE TO ADD ANYTHING YOU WANT. I JUST HOPED IF ANYONE NEW WAS CHECKING US OUT, THEY WOULD BE ENCOURAGED TO TRACK AND CHAT ABOUT THEIR 100'S WITH US!!
