Hi. I was wondering if you heard from anyone... I am disappointed you've only posted twice and have made your SparkPage inaccessible...

Hello Everyone! I'm looking for an accountability partner.

I'm thinking we have an arrangement where we check in with each other a few times a week (at minimum) to make sure we are staying on track with our respective diets. Words of encouragement and little pushes here and there recommended. :)

(Can we see each others trackers on SparkPeople? It would be useful to be able to monitor each others' intake and exercise.)

About me -- I was a traveling language and arts teacher / indie film composer who has returned to the US to go back to school, studying psychiatric mental health. In my mid-30s I started putting on a lot of weight, and I really want to address that. Especially since I've been studying a lot about the body, I realize more and more how important it is to lose weight. Did you know, for example, that fat cells release their own hormones? These hormones are generally designed to inhibit hunger cravings, but in people who are overweight the mechanism has often broken down. Kind of like how insulin resistance works. Similarly, when you're very overweight, your body often feels that something is off and, long story short, you'll operate with low level inflammation consistently engaged. I could go on an on about how obesity creates or exacerbates health complications, though I think most of the people here are already aware of much of it.

Anyone want to join me? It doesn't have to be just one person, we can make a chat group and keep in daily contact, pushing each other and encouraging each other!
