Doing better with the sweets - so my husband buys me a box of Thin Mints. I had 4 (one serving and put them out of sight. Slept much better last night. Makes for a much more positive day.

I am really struggling with eating sweets the past few days - have given in and binged on candy. Haven't been sleeping well due to leg and back pain and not exercising well. Got to turn this around.

I gave in today and had a cranberry orange muffin. Let's see if that starts me off on a binge. Usually when I buy chocolate candy I end up getting 3 candy bars at once and eating them all. I can't remember having just one in a long time. I seem to be an all or nothing kinda gal.

Glad I always drink my coffee black, nothing to sweeten it. I am never tempted to even purchase a Starbucks anything except plain coffee.

Raspberries with dark chocolate sounds really yummy! I bought some 72% cacao chunks the other day and I enjoy them with raisins. It reminds me of a chocolate bar I've had in the past that I can't for the life of me remember the name!

I don't have a good solution for sweetening your coffee unless you use an artificial sweetener of some kind. I drink mine black so I don't have that issue. Like you, I do enjoy my 2 cups of coffee each morning.

I have been drinking more coffee in the morning than I usually do. Its not so much the craving for the sugar that I put in it its more for fact that I want then 1 cup of coffee. How can I make my coffee taste sweet without doubling the amount of sugar?

How do you feel about having an occasional small treat?
Sometimes you need to stay away from sweets if you know you won't be able to control yourself.
Sometimes if you deny yourself too long it can be hard to maintain it without going overboard. Just some food for thought.
For me having a small amount (usually less than a serving) on occasion keeps me from going overboard.

I spent almost an hour waiting for my massage therapist who finally called me to apologize and change the time to later this afternoon. Went to take movies back to Safeway and was ready to give into my sweet tooth. Walked around the bakery and then past the girl scouts selling cookies. I am back home and luckily no sweets in the house. Hope this craving goes away before I go back later today.

Good going guys! I had the munchies yesterday afternoon - not for sweets, but just needed to feel full. Ended up eating popcorn (which I'm OK with) and going out with hubby to walk the dogs. That seemed to take care of it. I also had a frozen Amy's vegan meal for supper along with a corn bread muffin I had baked the day before. I couldn't tell how much added sugar there was in the frozen meal, but sugar was way down on the list of ingredients - so I figure it probably wasn't that much. So yesterday afternoon and evening were definitely a lazy time for me and one of the rare times I had a processed food and added sugar. I feel like I handled it OK.

I had to take a family member to a doctor appointment. I didn't bring any snacks and checked out all the treats while ordering coffee! I didn't get anything! Made it through to lunch and then had my mixed nuts and raisins when I got home!

The less added sugar you have in your diet, the sweeter fruits will taste and even some vegetables! I fixed roasted veggies for lunch yesterday which included some fresh beets. The beets actually tasted sweet - I guess that's why there's such a thing as beet sugar! Fruits will definitely taste sweeter including grapefruit!

Way to go eating fruit instead of candy! Great job!
