You can layer under it when cooler and if warm but wet, you won't be so hot if it is loose---see, it's a win! And easier to keep clean!

Soooo I have a hooded jacket. It's light gray. I don't particularly look good in light gray, but I have it.
Then one day last year, I forgot my jacket when we were driving to a lake, so we stopped at Walmart real quick to pick another one up for me. This time I searched for blue. There WERE none, so I got stuck with gray again. A lighter version.
So now I've got TWO gray hooded jackets.
Monday, I finally found a BLUE hooded jacket and spent the extra money that day, because they'd been hard to find all year long.

NOW.....I can declutter my TWO gray jackets.
emoticon
But now, even though they are the same size, the blue one feels kinda too big. lol Ah well, at least I'm done to ONE jacket, instead of three.

Gretchen, good for you---if you don't love it, donate it. Nice to have freshly painted walls.
I worked on decluttering some of my planting beds yesterday and then cleaning up the leaves and weeds I raked up from them from the patio. Those beds look so much better now.

We've also been busy decluttering. We had to take everything off walls and clears shelves, etc. since we were getting most of the inside of our house painted. We currently have much of the stuff in the garage and are slowly and methodically bringing stuff back in. Love the freshly painted walls and everything feels so pristine. Trying to be very selective to not just clutter everything back up.

Susan, Did you already get rid of 2 books to make room for your new ones, or are you adding to your library?

I got my books in the mail the other day, and I'm so excited.
The first one is called, How to Mange Your Home Without Losing Your Mind, and it focuses on daily things.
The second book is entitled, Decluttering at the Speed of Life.

I'm reading the second one first and am really excited.

Why do handymen not put things back where they belong? My dh does that and then blames others for not being able to find his own tools---he knows better than to blame me---I am hopeless with tools so I don't bother them---but he knows if he borrows my hammer, he better darn well return that to where it belongs----LOL

Is a 2-week massive declutter like pulling a band-aid right off instead of little-by-little? Is it less painful than the slow-but-steady (hopefully) decluttering strategy. Well, slow may work if one has the time, but sounds like you've got a deadline, MAMA. Wishing you all the best with that. Just try not to feel overwhelmed.

I don't have a garage, which doubles my tool problems. Organizing - again, is high on my list. Having caregiver & handyman help increases the problems as they shove tools anywhere, & when I can't find something, I buy another one.

Currently I'm paring down my kitchen dishes. I no longer need all the extra plates, bowl's, etc.

Mama, at least you know you need to get rid of stuff for the move---that is a good motivation. I know I got rid of stuff when we were moving 9 years ago---and then still found stuff to get rid of once I unpacked, too---LOL
Susan, that is the hard part, the stuff from others. My Dh has tools from his dad---but if he doesn't share that info with the boys, most of it will go after he is gone---mine needs to really organize all the tools and get rid of the multiples. I refuse to buy him any more. Did you warn the brother to come get his stuff? LOL

Oh my GOODNESS!

Yeah, cars are EASY to get cluttery when you're always on the go.

I think WE are about to have a massive declutter in a week or so. It's time to clean out the basement and garage. But here's the thing.
It has OUR stuff.
It has hand-me-downs from his brother-in-law the former carpenter/plumber....like a gazillion tools and gadgets.
And it has many, many things which were passed to him when his father passed away. His dad was a CAR guy, so there will be LOTS of tools.
Hubby wasn't ready to go through them yet, but thinks he can emotionally handle it now.

Over the next 2 weeks I am doing a massive declutter because I am moving into a smaller place. I also work full time overnights, and spend 12 hours a week or more in my car. Add using the laundromat etc and I'm gonna be exhausted.
