It was a beautiful day after the snowfall of 12 inches! We strapped our snowshoes on and had a fabulous trek at our local park around a lake. Since I no longer ski, snowshoeing is the next best thing when you want to play in the snow!

LUVS2BIKE101,

It sounds like fun! Biking everywhere...

Years ago when I lived in Seattle there was a huge snowstorm and the city positively shut down. I found that I was one of the few people in my neighborhood getting around as I had a mountain bike and it loved the snow!

I walk pretty much every day....but my favorite thing to do outdoors is Cross Country skiing in the winter, and I do enjoy hiking during the summer as well.

My favorite outdoor activity during the winter months is snowshoeing. However, if rail trails are cleared for biking, I will ride any time of the year.

What is your favorite outdoor activity?

1. Walking is my favorite! When I was younger I was an avid runner and loved being out-of-doors.

2. Hiking has been something from my past that I loved. Although it has been years since I've really done any serious hiking. When I was in my late twenties I hiked almost 3/4 of the GR5 which is the premier long-distance hiking trail of Western Europe (about 1,500 miles long) & is laid out to traverse along, or to cross as many mountain ridges and highlands as possible. This was one of the greatest experiences of my entire life.

3. I also used to love to downhill Ski (although since I broke my right dominant arm and found out that I have Osteopenia my skiing days are over). I LOVE although to take long walks in SNOW..there is nothing like the quiet of snow. I think that I would like cross-country skiing also but have only been ever a handful of times in my life. I would imagine also that snowshoeing would be fun.
