Hi Throoper and all!

I'm 60, in Wisconsin, pretty new to Spark.
I'm sprouting grains today in hopes of making my second batch of sprouted grain bread. The first batch turned out so good, I have to do this again. I'm sprouting red wheat, white wheat, rye, lentils, and barley, then adding ww flour, flax/chia meal, oatmeal, water, yeast, gluten.

We have a bunch of gardens that need watering and I wear my pedometer daily to see that I get in a mile or more. I need to do more lifting daily and I'm going to work on that today. Latrek

Hi there!!! Sometimes I feel my bones ache a little. Never had that feelilng before. Not sure if it's because I am getting back into Strength training or (age). Anyone have similar?

I have lost 7 pounds again and again and again. I have been losing the same 10 pounds over and over again for about 10 years. At least I am consistent. Any way at least it isn't more than that and I do maintain for quite awhile before gaining it all back. Have a great day all!

I was reviewing my team list this morning. I realized I met my goal and have been maintaining a weight that is a bit below those last 10 pounds I tried to lose a few years ago.

Tracking foods & exercise is def the key. It's a slippery slope (for me) otherwise. Hubby & I are making slow & steady progress. I'll take it. Sometimes, life gets in the way & we have slight setbacks/hurdles. I haven't been very consistent with ST. It is def something I need to keep after myself about.

I have been tracking for over 2 months now. The weight has come off and I am almost at my goal weight. I am trying to exercise most days but have to add more strength training. I have been active on the site on and off over the years. When I stopped logging the weight came back and then some!

Hubby & I, both making steady progress. He's using the SP trackers, as well. (I used to be the one entering stuff for him.) Walks, bike rides, swimming + continuing to eat healthier + watching portion sizes = win.

Keeping up on my walks, sometimes bike rides. Weight is going down, albeit VERY slowly. I'll take that, anywho. It's better than it creeping upward (which, as in reading thru some previous posts, someone else mentioned the same thing; when I am active on SP & using the nutrition tracker, I lose weight. I had reached my goal weight at one time, then quit using the tracker. Sure enough, slow weight crawl upward!)

Am back @ the nutrition tracker & weight is finally going down, again. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Yes, weight loss/maintenance gets harder as we age. As long as I know I'm eating right and exercising, I try to ignore what the scale says. More to health than that.

Hi BARBIEE52,
How are your clothes fitting? Have your measurements decreased? Don't count on just the scale alone to assess your progress. You're fit and you feel good! That's gotta count for something!

I am 61, and now weigh 136. I have 6 more pounds to go, and am finding it so hard. Even though I do a lot of biking ( many miles in a day). But my legs and thighs are the firmest they have ever been. I think maybe I have acquired some muscle. Maybe that is why I have not lost anything?? Otherwise I feel really good.

I enjoy walking and add in some abdominal exercises and hand weights. In the past I found that I could control my weight with just exercise, but in the last year that has stopped working. Hopefully tracking my food and exercise and being more involved on SP will get me back on track.

DRACHEL1, just curious, but what are you doing as far as exercise. You might have it somewhere else and I've missed it. Just doesn't seem like you have a lot of fitness points.

Hi Everyone,

Well so, here's my deal... whenever I stop SP the weight slowly creeps back up. It doesn't even seem like I'm doing ANYTHING different. But I stop paying attention and stop entering the numbers and Voila! My pants don't fit so well anymore. I know some ppl think I'm crazy about worrying about my weight, but they don't understand about the dangerous "slow crawl" and the depression that can follow from clothes not fitting. Anyway, I'm back... AGAIN. When will I learn? Hopefully this time. :)

Hello everyone!

I'm a current WW Lifetime member trying to get back to my original goal (105). When WW came out with their new points plus, I quickly gained 5 pounds. In order to remain Lifetime and not have to pay, I changed my goal weight to 110. But I am not happy at this weight and have been trying, unsuccessfully, to get back down to 105 ever since.

My daughter joined sparkpeople and was having success, so I decided to join also. And.....my weight has been dropping again. I am so excited about that. I post on the daily weigh in team. My utimate goal is to be around 102-103. That's where I was happiest.

By the way, I'm 62 and 4' 9" tall.

I've been at goal weight since Nov. and I find it very hard to keep it steady. Sometimes I may lose a lb. or sometimes I may gain a lb. It's when I gain, I have trouble getting it off. I can hear all of you snickering, but it's true. Let me know if anyone else has this problem.

I don't know what happened, but this team icon popped to first place on my homepage. I did not move it but since it was brought to my attention, I thought I'd stop by and say "Hi" emoticon

This past year I gain the 10 I lost, I also started strength training and I'd like to think I gained muscle. However, my eating needs a lot of work, so I am back to square 1 and it was a successful day.

UH OH! ok, I'm back with a little shame dragging behind me... just got off the scale and I've slowly put on 7 pounds since hitting my last big goal which was 115. I actually liked my body better at 118. and decided that was a better weight for me, but since I was so successful at losing the weight, I got a little cocky and stopped paying attention. So now I'm back, ready to jump in, but I really need to connect. I used to do this with my sister, but she quit and I feel it doesn't work so well, trying to go it alone.

I'm in total agreement, Drachel--the last ones are harder. But they CAN happen.

There's a really good article by Coach Dean--somewhere, of course I don't remember the name!--that goes into why. Helped me a lot, and I may try to find it re-read it--if I do, I'll share it with you.

I started SP about 6 weeks ago with a goal of losing 10 lbs. in two months. I've lost 6 lbs. with 4 to go! These last four... trying not to seem negative, but my experience tells me they are clingers... Thanks to all the people who give such great support on this team and SP in general! I love it. emoticon
