KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CLEANING AND DISINFECTING YOUR HOME—AND HOW OFTEN YOU SHOULD BE DOING EACH

I would say that I’m a pretty conscientious cleaner. I’m a bit of a germaphobe and dedicate a decent amount of time to keeping my home clean and tidy. But with COVID-19, I want to make sure I’m doing everything right. Apparently, cleaning and disinfecting aren’t the same thing, and to remove and kill germs, you need to do both.

Here is the most recent some of which has merit but has been twisted within correct information

Chinese now understand the behaviour of the virus from various autopsies that have been carried out.
This virus is characterized by obstructing the respiratory pathways with thick mucus that solidifies that block the airwaves and lungs.
They have discovered that to apply medicine you have to open and unblock these airwaves so that the treatment can be used to take effect.
Their recommendations for what you can do to safeguard yourself are

1. Drink plenty of hot liquids, coffee soups teas, warm water. In addition, take a sip of warm water every 20 minutes because this keeps your mouth moist and washes any viral virus that has entered your mouth into your stomach with the gastric juices that will neutralize it before it can get to the lungs.

2. Gargle with an antiseptic and warm water like vinegar, salt or lemon every day if possible.

3. The virus attaches itself to hair and clothes any detergent or soap kills it but you must take a bath or shower when you come in from outdoors. Avoid stopping for any reason head straight for the bathroom to shower. If you cannot wash your clothes daily hang them in direct sunlight which also neutralizes the virus.

4. Wash metallic surfaces very carefully because the virus can remain viable for up to 9 days.
Be vigilant about touching handrails and door handles etc. making sure to immediately sanitize wiping them down regularly.

5. Don't smoke

6. Wash hands every 20 minutes using any foaming soap for 20 seconds.

7. Eat fruit and vegetables elevate your zinc levels not just your vitamin C

8. Animals do not spread the virus to people. This is a person to person transmission.

9. Try to avoid getting the common flu because it weakens the immune system. Try to avoid drinking cold beverages.

10. If you feel any discomfort or a sore throat attack it immediately using the above methods.
The virus enters the system this way and remains for 3-4 days before it passes into the lungs.

What one should be doing for protection and prevention.

1. Self-quarantine.

Even in your own home, keep all surfaces clean and sanitized wiping them down with an alcohol-based solution or Lysol wipes.
If one must go out wear gloves, a facial mask and abide by the guidelines of keeping the 6-foot social distance.
If you have to sneeze or cough, do so into the crook of your elbow.

WASH, WASH, WASH YOUR HANDS. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!

Using an antiseptic soap or foaming wash.

You can help yourself and your loved ones stay healthy by washing your hands often, especially during these key times when you are likely to get and spread germs:

Before, during, and after preparing food
Before eating food
Before and after caring for someone at home who is sick with vomiting or diarrhea
Before and after treating a cut or wound
After using the toilet
After changing diapers or cleaning up a child who has used the toilet
After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing
After touching an animal, animal feed, or animal waste
After handling pet food or pet treats
After touching garbage

Washing hands under the faucet Follow Five Steps to Wash Your Hands the Right Way

Washing your hands is easy, and it’s one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs. Clean hands can stop germs from spreading from one person to another and throughout an entire community—from your home and workplace to childcare facilities and hospitals.

Follow these five steps every time.

1. First wiping down the tap with a Lysol wipe, turn on the tap. Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap.
2. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with either an anesthetic soap or foaming wash. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails and up to your elbows.
3. Scrub for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the “Happy Birthday” song from beginning to end twice.
4. Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
5. Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.

Excess Abdominal Fat is Not Only Ugly but Extremely Dangerous to Your Health - This is More Than a Vanity Issue!

The difference between subcutaneous fat and the more deadly "visceral fat"... Plus the simple steps to REMOVE this fat permanently

There are two types of fat that you have in your abdominal area. The first type that covers up your abs from being visible is called subcutaneous fat and lies directly beneath the skin and on top of the abdominal muscles.

The second type of fat that you have in your abdominal area is called visceral fat, and that lies deeper in the abdomen beneath your muscle and surrounding your organs. Visceral fat also plays a role in giving certain men that "beer belly" appearance where their abdomen protrudes excessively but at the same time, also feels sort of hard if you push on it.

Both subcutaneous fat and visceral fat in the abdominal area are serious health risk factors, but science has shown that having excessive visceral fat is even more dangerous than subcutaneous fat. Both types of fat greatly increase your risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, sleep apnea, various forms of cancer, and other degenerative diseases.

Part of the reason visceral fat is particularly dangerous is that studies show that it releases more inflammatory molecules into your system on a consistent basis.

One of the major reasons that some people accumulate more visceral fat than others can be from a high carbohydrate diet that leads to insulin resistance over time (years of bombarding your system with too many sugars and starches for your pancreas to properly handle the constant excess blood sugar) ... and studies show that high fructose intake, particularly from high-fructose corn syrup, can be a major contributor to excess visceral fat.

Kale is considered one of the healthiest foods you can eat.

But if you fall into one of these 3 categories…

I would NEVER eat kale.

Here’s the first one…

Stay clear of Kale: If you have thyroid issues

One of the compounds in raw kale is called progoitrin.

Progoitrin BLOCKS your thyroid from working right (it stops it from absorbing iodine). which can lead to serious health complications.

In one case, an 88-year-old woman fell into a coma after eating too much!

Now to be clear, she was eating the equivalent of 3 POUNDS of kale a day.

Can food really be addictive?

Many scientists think so. Addiction is characterized by activation of the brain’s reward system, use of the substance or behavior despite negative consequences, loss of control, tolerance, and withdrawal. Although food addiction is not yet recognized as a psychiatric disorder, compulsive consumption of calorie-dense foods fits these characteristics.

Research suggests the excessively sweet, salty, and/or fatty (“highly palatable”) foods common in the standard American diet can produce dysfunction in the brain’s reward system, driving loss of self-control, overeating, and weight gain. There is evidence that the neurobiological underpinnings of compulsively eating highly palatable foods are similar to those of addiction to heroin or cocaine.


Stimulation of dopamine receptors

Hunger is not the only reason we eat. When we eat calorie-rich foods or engage in other pleasurable behaviours, the brain’s reward system reinforces that behavior with a neurochemical called dopamine. The drive to consume large amounts of calorie-rich foods when they were available was advantageous for early humans, allowing them to store enough energy to survive through periods of food scarcity. But in modern times, that same drive for calorie-rich foods promotes obesity, type 2 diabetes, and other chronic diseases.

Research in animals
An early study published in Nature Neuroscience showed that rats given extended access to junk food developed binge-eating behaviors and gained weight rapidly. As this experiment continued, the rats had progressively higher “reward thresholds.” This means that their brains’ reward systems became less and less responsive, and a greater amount of junk food was therefore required to satisfy their appetites – essentially, they developed tolerance. The scientists traced these effects to a decrease in dopamine D2 receptors in a certain region of the brain. These same neurobiological changes have been shown to occur in rats that are given extended access to heroin or cocaine.

Sugar alone was found to produce a powerful reward response, as demonstrated by a study in which rats were allowed to choose between pressing two levers: one lever gave them access to sugar-sweetened water, and the other a dose of intravenous cocaine. The rats preferred sugar over cocaine.

Research in humans

Studies on brain activity have provided preliminary evidence supporting the idea that, similar to rats with access to large amounts of junk food, overeating alters the dopamine reward system in humans, which then acts to drive further overeating.

Reduced numbers of dopamine D2 receptors have been reported in obese compared to lean people, and in women with bulimia compared to healthy women. It has also been shown that the dopamine reward response is diminished over a period of weight gain or in response to frequent consumption of ice cream. Another study suggested that higher-glycemic meals produced more activation in brain regions associated with reward and craving. Together, these studies suggest that overeating highly palatable foods results in a diminished dopamine reward response and therefore tolerance, leading to a constant cycle of addictive overeating.

Withdrawal and “toxic hunger”
In addition to the effects on the brain’s reward system, withdrawal may also contribute to overeating and food addiction. Animal studies have shown characteristic signs of withdrawal in animals, such as anxiety or teeth chattering, after access to sugar has been restricted.

A diet low in micronutrients and phytochemicals and high in calories is associated with inflammation, oxidative stress, and the accumulation of toxic metabolites. A few hours after eating, as the body begins to eliminate these waste products, uncomfortable symptoms arise, such as headaches, light-headedness, irritability, and fatigue; symptoms I refer to as “toxic hunger.” Many people recognize these symptoms as hunger, because eating ceases the detoxification process, diminishing the uncomfortable symptoms. Misinterpreting these symptoms as hunger leads people to chronically consume more calories than necessary.

High-nutrient foods are not addictive

However, the perception of hunger changes as you improve the nutritional quality your diet. Despite a lower calorie intake, headaches, lightheadedness, and other uncomfortable symptoms decline; feelings of hunger occur less frequently, are less uncomfortable, and are felt primarily in the mouth and throat: “true hunger.” These findings from more than 750 participants have been published in a peer-reviewed journal, in which 80 percent of respondents reported their perception of hunger changed.

Health-promoting foods do not produce withdrawal symptoms or dysfunction in the brain’s reward system. The way out of food addiction is a Nutritarian diet: consuming primarily vegetables, beans, nuts, seeds, and fruit helps you resolve toxic hunger and prefer high-nutrient foods.

The avoidance of addictive foods and focus on whole plant foods also results in dramatic weight loss; in a study of 75 obese people who had switched to a Nutritarian diet, the average weight loss was 55 pounds after three years.

In the modern world, we have around the clock access to inexpensive, low-micronutrient, high-calorie foods. This puts everyone at risk of developing addictive eating behaviors leading to obesity and its health consequences. To stay in good health, we must opt out of the standard American diet, avoid addictive foods, and focus our diets on natural, health-promoting plant foods.

By now I'm sure you've all heard that we have legalized medicinal cannabis. Well, after giving this some long consideration I've looked into it. There's no cost but there are strict guidelines one has to adhere to. There was a medical form I had to fill out and submit. They are in contact with my doctor. So it's all above board and the dosage I will be on will not in any way inhibit me the way "recreational" cannabis does whether smoked or eaten. The dosage I will be on is specific to my pain and stress levels.
I will have a medical professional assigned to me that I have to check in with on a regular basis.
It is delivered directly to my door.
I have a video conference call next Wednesday at 5:30 pm to finalize everything.

I've tried everything else from prescriptions to organic as you know and eventually my pain and stress levels have changed so that I needed to find other solutions for quality of life.

No matter what our weight, we can use the cues from our physical and mental selves to judge how healthy we are.

Health is not and should never be a numerical concept and cannot be defined using statistics. As human beings, however, we tend to want to quantify well-being into easily understandable figures. We feel compelled to ascribe numbers to every aspect of wellness, from the qualities of our food to our fitness levels to the physical space we occupy. As a consequence of social pressures, we turn our attention away from health and focus instead on the most contentious of these figures--weight--checking our scales to see how we measure up to our peers and role models. Yet each of us is equipped to gauge our relative healthfulness without any equipment whatsoever. When we have achieved a state of wellness, we feel buoyant and energetic. Some of us are naturally slim, while others will always be curvy. No matter what our weight, we can use the cues we receive from our physical and mental selves to judge how healthy we really are.

When you throw away your scale, you commit to a lifestyle that honours the innate wisdom that comes from within your body and within your mind. It is logical to examine how you feel while considering your health--a strong, fit, and well-nourished individual will seldom feel heavy, bloated, or fatigued. If you have concerns regarding your weight, remind yourself that at its proper weight, your body will feel buoyant and agile. Movement becomes a source of joy. Sitting, standing, walking, and bending are all easy to do because your joints and organs are functioning as they were meant to. When you are physically healthy, your mind will also typically occupy a place of well-being. Mental clarity and an ability to focus are two natural traits of whole-self health. Surprisingly, promoting this type of easy-to-discern wellness within yourself takes no special effort outside of satisfying your hunger with nourishing, wholesome foods and moving your body.

The numbers you see on the scale, while nominally informative, can prevent you from reaching your healthful eating goals by giving you a false indicator of health. You will know when you have achieved true health because every fibre of your being will send you signals of wellness. When you choose to listen to these signals instead of relying on the scale, your definition of well-being will be uniquely adapted to the needs of your body and of your mind.

Aside from needing to lose the weight towards a healthier you, me, we all have other health issues.
With the initial weight, I've lost I've alleviated a number of issues but still have some to deal with.
Presently mine is mostly asthma and weakened muscles in my back.
I'm on ventalin and Advair for asthma and doing strengthening exercises for my back.
So yes, it is very important for me to shed this weight.
