Happy belated Easter everyone!!

I haven't checked in a few days, so I figured I would. I have been doing Blogiates on Youtube for a few days now. I don't do them 4 times like she recommends, just because I usually do other stuff along with that video. I decided to take a leap and sign up (I thought everything was free..no :( but I'm going to start with the April plan-if I ever get my email in, and if I like it, I may spend some money on a hardcore plan).

I though I had been doing pretty good, and that I lost some weight, but the other morning I was getting for class and none of my pants would fit! I tried to tell myself it's because I'm working out and using new muscles, but it was really just disheartening to me. I'm hoping I'll lose more weight! Trying to stay optimistic!

Hello
Its great to see you posting and we appreciate you sharing your progress and Blogilates.
I will check it out. Everything you said is so true and inspiring. I struggle from time to time and feel like giving up. But I know that I would gain back all the weight I have lost plus more. It is important to be patient and look at the inches and not totally rely on the scales. We all should keep going and the rewards will be so sweet.

Sorry I haven't been on in so long!!

I've been doing ok with working out. I am usually able to get a workout in at least 3 days a week, sometimes 4. Yoga, on the other hand, isn't going as good. That's something I really need to work on!

I weighed myself the other morning and it was about 130 (I have one of those scales that have the lines-not an electronic one, so it's hard to read). But I had a doctor's appointment late yesterday afternoon and it said 139, but I never really trust doctor's scales anyways.

Hope everyone else is doing good on their goals!! And if you haven't lost weight weight, don't be discouraged. Sometimes you lose inches before you actually see a change, so just keep up the good work!!

I was working out last night and this video I was watching (it's on Youtube- Blogilates, it's amazing! It's hard, but you feel it!) and the instructor said something I thought we could all relate to; "It's not about losing the weight-it's about seeing how strong you're becoming"

I did make it to the gym today and had a great work out. Headed to the beach in 3 and half weeks. I need to get rid of these 10 pounds. Got to get busy.

Lost another pound and a half. Only missed one day of working out last week (just slept all day - felt glorious). Down two and a half pounds since I started. Half way to my 30 day goal.

Reduce Calories

Reducing your current energy intake by 500 to 1,000 calories a day will help you meet your .goal of a 1- to 2-pound per week weight loss. According to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, most women should aim for 1,000 to 1,200 calories a day for weight loss, while active women and women over 164 pounds may require 1,200 to 1,600 calories each day to achieve safe weight loss. Reducing your intake of empty calories, refined grains and added sugars is a good place to start when trying to cut calories.

Sorry for the delay. This week has been crazy.

Down 1.1 pounds since Saturday. Worked out every day except Saturday (sick) and Tuesday (migraine). Stayed below my calories every day. Lost an inch in my waist so far.

Avoid white foods.

There is some scientific legitimacy to today’s lower-carb diets: Large amounts of simple carbohydrates from white flour and added sugar can wreak havoc on your blood sugar and lead to weight gain. While avoiding sugar, white rice, and white flour, however, you should eat plenty of whole-grain breads and brown rice. One Harvard study of 74,000 women found that those who ate more than two daily servings of whole grains were 49 percent less likely to be overweight than those who ate the white stuff.

Hi everyone!

I know we're supposed to post a picture, but I'll post it in the morning, just because I just saw this and it's about 8:30pm for me, and I'd rather have a "clean" picture for my start. However, I wanted to go and join!

Starting Weight: 135
Weekly goal: 1.25 lbs
Choose calorie goal: 1300-1500
30 day goal: My 30 day goal is to lose 5 pounds
Your Personal Self Challenge: My personal challenge is to work out at least 3x a week (hopefully more!!), walk when it's nice out, do yoga more than once a week, and to work on my posture.

I know this isn't included, but I'm not the type of person who can stick with things for very long unless I break it down into pieces, so I'm going to set a mini weekly challenge for myself to add up to my 30 day goal.

This week, my goal is to work out every day and do yoga at least once this week. I also will try to reach for water when I am feeling hungry, instead of snacking.

I didn't count my calories for today, but I don't think it was bad as it could've been. I had a small brownie, and some salted caramel ice cream along with two small cups of Ginger Ale (totally healthy, I know). But I did have some dried mango and a half bottle of water so far. I worked out for about 40 minutes all together. I did a 5 min arm workout, then a 15 min abs and leg workout, then since it was nice out, I walked for about 15-20 min at a steady pace. I plan on doing some yoga tonight (if I don't fall asleep doing homework that is).

(Getting the weight off)

Getting the weight off—and keeping it off—is a slow process. Watching the number on a scale can be depressing. Plus if you're focused on losing a set number of pounds in a specific amount of time, missing that goal can be very disappointing. Losing weight should be a secondary benefit to your overall health gains—not your primary goal. The steeper the mountain, the more difficult the first step is. And if you're carrying a lot of extra weight, taking that first step toward a healthier lifestyle can be especially daunting. With that being said, by setting the bar too high, you're setting yourself up for failure. Start by setting modest goals and avoid the pitfalls of burnout or the debilitating repercussions of missing your targets.

You may post a progress picture each week at weigh in, if you like. But a MUST at the end of 30 days.( Take pictures at same time of the day and same pose).

Oh, I understand now! That's fine, just let me (and everyone else,lol) know what you decide. I think if you hit "add a link", that might work? When you reply, there's little green buttons next to the word "message", and the third one over is "add a link". I've never tried it though, so no promises.

On the other hand, I got your message about walking for 45 mins. I did not walk for 45 minutes (it is raining and cold), but I did work out for about 40 mins, with very little breaks. I have recently started doing tabata and did a 30min video for that and did a 10 min standing ab workout.

I have a couple that asked, just waiting for them to jump in. I think I will tweak the guide lines and start it Monday to give everyone a chance to join. I will let you know. I am new at being a team leader and I have not learned how to post a link yet. Any helpful tips would be great. I am going to try, let me know if it works.

Hi There Friends
I am looking for 10 to 25 friends who are SERIOUS about LOSING weight and exercising. I want to make it a 30 day challenge because it gives a clear time line for meeting the challenge with little room for excuses. It is much easier to commit to a short term challenge with smaller goals. I myself need to really challenge myself to pull out of this winter funk and get my butt back in gear. I need dedicated Friends who want the same and are willing to meet this challenge by being totally in and sticking to the guidelines for this challenge.

Choose a workout that is short, but gave/gives you great results, and or instructor. It’s so important to like the instructor, no matter what workout you chose, because if you don’t like listening to the person then you’re less likely to turn on or show up for the workout.

Accountability. Accountability is so important, without it you will probably end up quitting. This is why It will be a must that everyone will check in each day. If one of us does not post, everyone will email that member to inspire them to keep going.]
