My goal is to "de-clutter" my fridge and cupboards, no more junk foods or sweets, all healthy wholesome foods. I will be pre planning my meals for the day, also shopping for new and interesting veggies and fruit, things I haven't tried before...

My goal is to start planning ahead so I don't just grab whatever unhealthy food I can find when I wait until the last minute.

I'm going back to work in a few weeks (teacher) so I need to begin creating this habit now so I can continue it once I'm back to work, making my life easier.

I love the idea of post-it notes in the cupboard. I never know what I have anywhere. I have cleaned out and organized my cupboards, and completed my first week of meal planning. It does make life so much easier. My goals for this week are:
1. plan meals
2. have healthy food on hand for when I don't
feel like the planned meals.
3. spend less on food by planning/shopping smart

My goal is to use the food I already have and build meal plans around that and sticking with the meal plan. Yesterday I went through my entire kitchen and put post it notes on the inside of the cabinet so I know what is in there and went through my freezer. My husband and I then created a plan.

Hi Nancypat, I am having the same problem...frozen and afraid to start. I guess I was expecting to be walked through planning a week of menus as it is something I have never done.
So I have decided to try one new recipe a day and if I like it and it is easy emoticon it will go on an index card to choose my menu from.
I also need to clean out the pantry and the counters.
That should keep me busy this week!

I joined this challenge team hoping to be motivated to start:
1) planning meals
2) making shopping lists
3) buying what's on the list
4) fixing and serving what I planned
5) sstop wasting so much food.

So far, I haven't done Week 1. It's like I'm frozen...afraid to start...

I'm not sure what my problem is...

I KNOW that I have to master this in order to get a firm grip on healthy living.

I joined the challenge to learn some new recipes and tips and tricks for eating healthy as I am getting bored of the same ole foods day in and out and that is leading me to "stray" from the healthy living lifestyle that I am trying to move into.

My Goals for the next four weeks would be:

To consistently plan my meals

To prep my meals for the week ahead of time

To stock my fridge and pantry with only healthy eating foods and not stray to far from the frey

Some fast tips from a newbie

1. Only shop on the outside of the store this is where everything FREASH is kept, fruits, veggies, milk, eggs, chesse(easy on this one) stay away from isles UNLESS you need canned veggies or meats. NEVER go down a cookie, chip, soda, snack isle just dont go down it.

2. Plan your meals a week at a time they dont have to be five course meals but something like

Chicken Breast (skinless)-baked in lowfat dressing of choice

Asapragus Spears grilled/baked(spelling)-DONT USE CANNED ONES THEY TASTE BAD!!!

Cawliflower mashed potatos with spices of choice

and some whole wheat flat bread on the side

Makes a GREAT meal

Salad to any meal ROCKS there are SO MANY low fat low cal. dressings out there you can make it a whole meal just trying dressings out I have like 20 diffrent ones in my fridge and they keep for a LONG LONG time once opened!!

And remmeber no matter how well you eat and do you WONT lose weight if you dont burn some cals. you can eat 1000 cals a day and unless you get up and do something to burn some of those off you are never going to lose the weight if all it took was eatting less and better alot less people would need this page get up and move!!!

im hoping to find a way to cook better for me and my kids without losing the taste and spending a bunch of money. I become overwhelmed checking ingredients and seeing whats healthy and whats not so I think the planning meals will help because ill already know what im making and not spend the time each day checking for healthy things quick

I joined this challenge to learn to put some variety in my meals. Right now it is fruit by itself, some protein and a salad/veggie or the protein and salad made into a sandwich. It is getting boring! Those are quick, easy instant gratification meals. I need to learn to plan ahead and make the meals more exciting.

I joined this challenge to learn some new ideas. I like to make quick healthy meals, but I am so tired of salads.( I mean leaf lettuce & cut up veggie salads.) I have a basic concept of healthy cooking and would like to use more fish.

My goals for this challenge are to really try new recipes and focus on incorporating fresh produce into my cooking for so that my husband and I are eating more fruits and veggies. Also, I want to hone in on meal planning so that we are scrambling for dinner and end up with pizza or something! I want to have a good, reasonable plan that we can stick with!

At the moment, I will have only one goal. I will star planning my meals, using as a guide the menu of Spark People on the nutrition tracker. So first thing, tomorrow, print out the menu and the shopping list, study it and if I do not want or like something, change it taking into consideration the calories, fat, sodium and so on.

This means a lot of discipline for me, so I expect your support, all my Spark Friends.

My goal is to get back to planning my meals like I was doing. I haven't done it for a while and what I've been eating lately shows that. Beginning tomorrow I will be eating and preparing planned meals. I've also planned what I'm preparing for company this weekend. I don't understand why I stopped doing it in the first place because planning makes it so much easier and less work really.

My goal: get into a routine of planning my meals for the upcomming week. So when I go grocery shopping a have a list and don't just wander through the aisles and pick up junk...so that's my other goal...sticking to the items on my list.

I'd like to achieve a couple of things:

1. Keeping my kitchen clean!
2. Writing down recipies I'd like to try.
3. Cook one NEW and healthy recipie once a week.
4. Learn to eat better 'on the road'
5. Organize my shopping list and meals (especially lunch and breakfast!

Ok, here goes...

My goals for week one are:

1. plan meals for the week to include a "left over day"

2. pack either breakfast or lunch each workday

3. clean out the refrigerator and freezer. Due to an evil ant attack, the cabinets got cleaned out and reorganized last week. (something good out of something bad!)

Week One's goal is to use the menu planner/grocery list for a full 7 days. I figured out when I first filled it out that part of my cooking/eating challenges on the weekend probably stem from the fact that I only plan Mon-Fri and leave the weekend to dh. So, I will plan through and see if I don't benefit from a bit more control!
