Another week done. Woohoo! Here's how it went...

emoticon Understanding My Children's Need for Exercise: I felt weird having a "structured, chaperoned, planned activity" for the children to do, so I just tried to monitor their activities. Other than one rainy day that coincided with returning from an exhausting camping trip, they stayed adequately active just being kids - running around the yard finding bugs, helping me with chores, etc. I suppose we did do some slightly structured activities - walking / hiking, swimming, biking.

emoticon Get Active as a Family: I touched on this above, but we walk / hike, swim, and bike as a family. My husband and I both work for school districts, so the summer is always the easiest for us to be active as a group.

emoticon Make Exercise a Priority: As overweight as I am, I like my children watching me work to better myself. They are both usually stumbling out of bed when I return from my wog (walking with a bit of jogging) and like to ask me about it. My daughter loves watching my do videos, knows my favorite online instructors, and occasionally join me.

emoticon From the Previous Weeks: Aside from camping (which I designate as tech-free) and the rainy day mentioned above when we watched two movies, we are still averaging 30-90 minutes of screen time. There has no been another family meeting, but there has also not been a need for one. The planning I did when I joined this challenge has paid off when motivation was low and I wanted to eat out instead of cook. Much like I suspected, the fruits and veggies have been difficult during the end of the month. We have some canned stuff on supply, but my intake has been drastically reduced. I just need to make it 5 more days until payday and grocery shopping. I have not made over any other recipes, but I have been focusing on serving sizes for the entire family.
