I believe I got it all in except exercise- I walked a ton around DC this weekend, so much so that my calves are killing me- but I dont know if it was 165 minutes worth.

I didn't mean any of the goals for the day :( I didn't get a whole lot of time to eat- 6 veg. Like 30 minutes of cardio for a total of 120. I don't know about protein. I really didn't eat a lot. Nothing special so far this week :( But tomorrow I think I am gonna do mani/pedi. I bought the polish a little bit ago, just haven't gotten around to doing it. And I am going to do a facial. Good enough for me!

I have met all my goals each day, but haven't even had time to track all my stuff yet. I did go get a pedicure after work tonight, so one treat to myself down. I'm probably going to buy a BodyBugg this weekend, so that will be two, but still trying to see if I want that or a Garmin as I'll only allow myself one of them now.

I am behind as well- but I think I have done everything except exercise this week. I feel as though I dont actually have time to sit and count protein but I am pretty sure I am getting it all as I have been conscience of what I have been eating and I usually meet that goal anyway.

I did not actually count my protein grams, but I know I made it, same as produce.
I did have a gorgous piece of baklava so I had a sweet treat.(are we watching those again this week?)

Ladies- that is the sad thing- I am at the last resort. I dont even have money to do pay a deposit on a new place- savings is gone- and I am in debt for the first time in my life.
I have thought long and hard for quite some time, and I know it is an awful thing to have to do, but with Ali starting college (need money) and with her graduation (I cant say no to the trip at this point) and with moving to a new place, I have to. I will also end up saving money in the long run by paying off one of my credit cards (not saving, but the interest I will save will be about equal to the interest on the cash-out).
And oh yeah- I dont actually make enough money to pay my current living expenses (minimum living expenses).
This is too much for our challenge forum...

Teresa - I agree with Louisa! Don't cash in your retirement!!!! strictly LAST resort, ONLY! You know you will have to pay not only REGULAR income tax on what you take out, but also a 10% PENALTY!!! That gets you only $10K in cash, but a $15K withdrawal!

I have to Louisa. Unfortunately.
There is no other way to survive until I move. And I promised Ali a grad trip- it was supposed to be Europe, but I have been gradually downgrading until we finally got it down to 5 days at the beach. I have to give her this one, she has been through as much as me during the past couple of years.

Monday is over ! Woo Hoo!

I really need a haircut- maybe I will do that (it's been 6 months!).

Today:
Produce: met
exercise- I am not going in the rain today and my dog destroyed the house again so the rugs are a mess and I am not feeling like vacuuming (lazy Teresa). so we will see how it goes later.
Protein: 63.8 (I had to add in my veggies for the day...the tomato just kicked it over 60!...yep- tomato has protein!)
Something for me: well, I am finishing up watching the Blind Side, we started it last night even though my daughter didnt want to...just for me! Woo-Hoo! I got one!

Hello Team!

I was successful in getting some cardio in last week and making good choices. But was not able to complete the challenge. It did help me have a 3.5 lb weight loss. I had not been doing much walking prior to last week so it was great to have a goal to work towards.

So I will continue to strive to improve on the challenges we are repeating from last week. I have no trouble getting in my protein so #3 shouldn't be a problem. Now #4 might be a problem, since this week is all about my daughter's graduation and getting ready. I will try to find some down time to work on me but it might be hard. I will try to do something that doesn't cost money since I will be spending alot on the party. Maybe just sitting in a quiet house with no one to bother me!!

Cardio-I'm going to do the same minimum of 150, but I'm going to up the intensity of that 150. (I do considerably more than 150 minutes per week now)

Fruits and veggies-piece of cake! I add veggies into everything as it is.

Protein-I'm going to aim for a minimum of 65 ( I struggle to get to the sparks minimum of 60 each day now). Thanks for the ideas Louisa...I boiled a dozen eggs today and bought some string cheese.

Something special for myself: I'm going to set aside an hour this week to take a long, hot bubble bath and I'm going to set aside another hour to work on my cross stitch (thanks for the idea Wanda!)

Louisa - yup, that's me... just being difficult! Of course, that's how I GOT to be 200 lbs, too!

I can treat myself to some "guilt-free Kindle reading" this week, and perhaps some "guilt free Cross Stitch Time"

Wanda- now you are just being difficult. emoticon

If you guys can't figure out how to treat yourselves, then this is a very appropriate challenge. Start putting on your thinking hats.

1. Cardio - 311 minutes this week.
2. 8 fruits and veggies per day. Need to really work on this one!
3. A minimum of 65g of protein this week.
4. Do something special for yourself 2 times this week. I really need a pedicure. I will try & do this. I have my monthly hair appt on Tuesday, but I consider this maintenance since I will be getting my roots touched up and can't/won't go w/o getting it done each month. Maybe a good facial scrub & mask (been slacking on this).

hmm...
1. Soak my feet - no place to do that where I live
2. Pedicure - have one, don't need another
3. Facial - don't like them
4. Magazine - don't read any
5. Full Body Scrub in Shower - as Teresa says.. "That's Maintenance!"

1. Cardio- 165 minutes
2. 8 fruits and veggies per day.
3. Get 60g protein every day.
4. Do something special for yourself 2 times this week. Anything non-food

I think Leah and I should just go treat ourselves to some yummy food and red wine! Just kidding- cant be food related.
Ok- I like the magazine idea (I saw one I wanted the other day but put it down since it was $6.)I do masks and stuff all the time just so I dont look older than I already do, so I see that not really as a treat but a necessity- great ideas though.

I do have a friend coming to town this weekend that I havent seen 2 years so that will be a treat!

Soak your feet and give yourself a pedicure; give yourself a facial. Buy a magazine you would never buy and spend some time reading it; do a full body scrub in the shower....

Teresa - I'm with you on the 'treat' thing. I just don't know how to treat myself. It either costs money, or is something I don't care for in the first place (I don't do baths, which so many really love).

any ideas, ladies?

I may need some ideas of what is special for myself...it's been a while. And I cant think of anything that doesnt take money (massage, facial, new book)!

You are making me get to work with the protein thing! I know I get enough but it is hard to count sometimes when meat is not included.

but I am game for the challenge!

This challenge starts tomorrow. Don't forget that you can still catch up on cardio for this week's challenge.

Many of us struggled with making the veggies and fruits goals so we are repeating that one for this week.

There are 4 challenges this week:

1. Cardio- 150 minutes or 10% more than you did last week which ever is greater.

So if you did not make the 150, that is your goal. If you went over, add 10% to that number and tell us what you are striving for.

2. 8 fruits and veggies per day.

Let's really try to make this goal. This is important for your health. Sneak in veggies and fruits as snacks- you can pack grape tomatoes, carrots, celery, sweet pepper strips and fruit and take with you everywhere.

3. Get your minimum protein allowance in every day.

Sneak a little in with every meal and you should have no problems.

4. Do something special for yourself 2 times this week. Anything non-food related. emoticon
