Jesus said, Love one another as I have loved you.

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned (Psa 34:1819, 22).

My weekly goal is 70,000 steps. I use the Blaze fit bit watch. I am participating in a 5K (3.1 miles) in April and would like to be able to finish it in 48 minutes so am building up to walking continuously for 7500 steps at the track or on the treadmill where I can adjust the incline up and down as obviously this will affect speed when walking the ground track in Nashville. I also am in losing mode with healthy Keto and intermittent fasting. I do a 16/ 8 schedule breaking my fast around 11 am and eating two meals a day with the last one no later than 7 each evening. It works for me. As of today I have lost 64 pounds since February 1, 2019. I am 41 lbs away from my goal weight. I'm on it! Cannot begin to tell you how this lifestyle has impacted my health in the most positive manner. Will be back later this evening to post my stats for the day.

I would like to keep my goal at 80,000 steps, but I picked up a nasty flu bug, that has slowed me down and feeling poorly. I will see what the week brings. However, it's a great way to lose weight. 4 pounds since Saturday morning.

It turned out to be food poison from a community potluck. A community that eats together, get sick together...Feeling a little better, but lost 5 pounds so far.

Nothing Is Impossible with God.
Each Day Is A New Beginning.
When You Draw Close To God, God Will Draw Close To You.

Spark People Team Leader, GLITTERGIRL, from Team, "I Can't Do This On My Own", helped me reach my goal in 2012. I was able to maintain my weight for several months, but now I have to get serious again as much of my hard work I let go of, putting my focus on another issue. I will keep on, until I get back to my goal.

I think I have achieved the "sweet spot" with regards to my daily goal. 20,000 steps per day or a weekly goal of 140,000 appears to be the numbers I need to achieve. Coming to this conclusion has been a part of my lifestyle change journey that I embarked back in 2009 so I continue to re-adjust my goals as necessary. My goal is to continue keeping my Active Minutes above 120 minutes per day. I will also be tracking my mileage with my goal to walk 9 miles per day. I will also be tracking my floors climbed but as I don't really encounter many floors in my travels I will be interested in seeing how high I can get this number on a daily basis. Keep moving people, I know I will! DON'T GIVE UP!!!

DOING SO WILL KEEP THIS THREAD MANAGEABLE AND ALSO MAKE IT EASIER TO TRACK EACH MEMBER'S DAILY PROGRESS.

An easy way to find your initial entry is to hold down the CTRL key and your F key. This will bring up your FIND box. Enter your SparkName and hit enter. This will take you to your first entry. Click on the EDIT MY POST button and add your steps for that day. Then just click on the POST MESSAGE button and you have edited your entry! (For those using an Apple computer, hold down the COMMAND key and your F key for the FIND box.) If you have any questions/comments please send me a SparkMail.

A BIG THANKS TO ALL OF YOU THAT HAVE BEEN USING THE EDIT BUTTON WHEN YOU POST!!!

I continue to be very impressed by your daily steps! emoticon

I love all the activity on this thread! Welcome to each and every one of you and I hope that you accomplished your goals this week. I WOULD LOVE TO GIVE A BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO JOINED THIS THREAD THIS PAST WEEK! We were an amazing 46 strong this past week! That is four more than last week! I continue to be amazed at your step counts, all of you should be very proud of yourselves! emoticon emoticon emoticon

We are still #1 in the Computer & Electronics category?! That continues to be amazing! As of the posting of this post, we are now at (drum roll please!) 137,224 members strong! Incredibly again, that is 203 more than last week! Compared to last week's membership increase, that is 38 more than the previous week. We have poked our head through the 137,000 level, and are making our way towards the 138,000 level. This is amazing!
Wow! This continues to be mind-blowing!
emoticon Holy moley!

For those who may not have heard the news. FitBit was purchased by Google recently. According to the CEO of FitBit nothing will change. I will keep close tabs on this recent change of events. UPDATE: I recently had to get in contact with FitBit's Customer Service and I am happy to report that my experience was extremely positive. The Customer Service rep went above and beyond the call of duty to assist me. One thing that did stand out is that they have access to the back end of their products and can follow what your device is doing night or day. So if your device is acting strangely, call them, they can walk you though the issue and assist you.

I was recently playing with the FitBit App for Windows and clicked on the floors portion of the app. There I found a link that offering more information on how this data was calculated. The page is called "How does my FitBit device calculate my daily activity?" and it is a wealth of new information regarding how the various data items are calculated and collected. I was familiar with some of the information but the description of how it is used to calculate your personal data was fascinating. This is a recommended quick read. (And, careful, don't fall down any "rabbit holes" while there!) Here is the link for the page:

emoticon Welcome to all of our new team members and thank you for joining our weekly steps goal!!!

I continue to love my Ionic watch. This past week my Ionic watch's step count was a 12,172 less steps than my One or a -7.43% difference!

It appears that even for the top of the line watch, Ionic, activities involving the hands continue to contribute to the step count. (I wonder if Apple Watch users experience the same issue?) I continue to compare the data and the steps, distance, active time, floors, and distance are relatively the same. The calories are very different and I think that is more due to the heart rate device on my Ionic miscalculating my calories burned. I tend to trust my One's calorie calculations much more (although I am starting to think that the Ionic's calorie reading might not be as out of line as previously thought. I need to do more investigation into this emerging idea). emoticon

FitBit has introduced several new fitness trackers to their product line. The Versa -Lite Edition, which appears to be a low-priced version of their Versa. The only difference I can see is that the Lite Version does not calculate floors, allow storage of your music, or have the ability to pay for purchases. It truly is a lite version. FitBit also introduced their Inspire and Inspire HR activity bands. These are low cost version of their products. You can even ditch the wrist band and wear the activity device like their classic One model. It appears that FitBit is trying to bring activity trackers to the masses.

I still continue to lose more weight. I attribute my recent weight loss to a change I made in my eating habits. I love to eat and I never seem to get full. I have to make a very conscious effort to monitor my calories on a daily basis. I begin my day with a light breakfast, some milk and some type of egg sandwich. At work, I don't eat during my breaks, instead choosing to use this time for walks inside our building. I listen to podcasts or music and use my phone to catch up on emails, read, and play games. I find this is very helpful in achieving my daily step goals since I stopped attending the gym (Due to a recent lifestyle change). I drink 6-9 cups of water during the day and eat my "lunch" in the evening. I will have a small dinner later in the evening. I have been also trying to get to bed earlier so this change has definitely helped, too. All of this has resulted in a noticeable drop in my daily calories and my relationship with food. I have literally cut close to 1,000 calories on a daily basis (and sometimes have to push myself to hit 2,000 calories! This is a good change and one not certainly for everybody (or anybody in fact) but it appears to be working for me.
UPDATE: I continue with following this radical plan and it continues to work for me as I am losing more weight. I have dropped 34 pounds in the last eight months! Also, I have done some further research into this new lifestyle of mine and think my method can be classified as fasting. Now I am not starving myself, I am merely choosing to stay away from food for a certain period of time. I am still getting all of my necessary nutrition on a daily basis. I am really loving this lifestyle.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE
I am truly amazed at how this change in eating habits has positively affected me. I have plenty of energy, find myself sometimes "forcing" myself to eat, and getting much more sleep. While my initial foray into the healthy living world back in 2009 was life-changing, this intermittent fasting lifestyle has been life and mind-altering.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE TO THE UPDATE
I continue down this path of delaying my lunch and dinner to the end of my day and I continue to enjoy success. The recent holidays did proved to be challenging but following this path has allowed me to get back on schedule with my healthier lifestyle. I am truly pleased with these results.

ADDENDUM: I continue down this "fasting" path and have maintained my recent weight loss. I am amazed at how this one change has impacted my life.

Our organization is starting its annual "Let's Get Healthy" drive and part of this drive is a push to lose weight. Losing weight can sometimes be very simple while the hard part is keeping the lost weight off. Often times, in our quest to lose weight, we attempt to follow a current fad or try to remove something from our diet. Having been a SparkPeople member for close to 10 years I understand that this is not the solution. The solution to losing weight and keeping it off is moderation and activity. Duh, right but these really are the keys to losing and maintaining weight. With this in mind here are some articles that address these issues.
But whatever you do, don't give up hope if you "fall off the wagon." Tomorrow is another day to re-start your journey and pick-up where you left off.
AND REMEMBER, KEEP MOVING! emoticon

Here are some articles that I have found very helpful in my quest for a healthier life. Enjoy!

Well another week in the books! This past week I took a total of 170,897 steps for a daily step average of 24,414 steps. I was active for 1,202 minutes this past week or an average of 171 Active Minutes per day. I traveled 84.20 miles this week or an average of 12.03 mile per day and I encountered 44 floors (some of these were wind-aided). I am coming up on a very important milestone, one I will be sharing very soon. (That is what is called a tease emoticon )
