Hello again, I finished my week 5 training but before I could do my virtual or actual 5K race I have come down with pneumonia! What can I do? I need to rest to make sure I recover, but I don't want to let my training go. Any suggestions? Also I just read the side effects on the medicine they put me on and one of them is tendon damage! Help!

Smurf1227- I think your husband is probably right. I've noticed on hot days it is really hard to recover, especially if I haven't been drinking lots of water.

I just had a great W5D1 run. I ran a 14 min/mile for the first time and if I hadn't had to tie my shoe, I wouldn't have had to stop at all! Yea!

I ran my day 1 today but I really found it extremely difficult, I had no energy and when I got back from my run I had to lay down and when I did get up I thought I might pass out. Does anybody know what could have caused this? I have been doing fine in all the other weeks, did 40 minute run the other day with no problem which is why I was kind of surprised at my run today. My husband, who is a runner, thinks I wasn't hydrated enough because it certainly was warmer today than it has been since I started training. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

I ran for 30 minutes today. during which time I increase the speed on the treadmill and I was surprised that I was able to run at 5.0 for over 5 minutes. I have to use that rate of speed more often. I had a nice run.

All things work together for good!

When you do your training for week 5, come by this thread and tell us about your accomplishments for the day.

(Example )
How far did you run?
How did you feel on the day you did it?
Or anything else you want to talk about for your 5k training for week 5

Lets support one another and cheer each other on.
