Thank you everyone for asking for this walking buddies and workout challenge. I'm closing this particular thread as we've already setup a new group of walking and fitness workouts. Check it out.

For those already joined and participating, we're having lots of fun and getting ton of exercise. If you're interested in exercising and don't have any particular program, check out the new group team and also click on the team goal under steps and see how many participants are enjoying everyday walks. Next month will be my 5th month for walking daily and I am so much enjoying it. It has made a tremendous difference in my healthy from immediately the first few days of starting. I also have a Fitbit and am so addicted to it. If you need any support just ask on the message boards or ask me.

Pampa, I checked my settings and you are correct, the box for Sparkmail was not checked. I changed it so now I should be able to receive the emails. Thanks!!

The email you received from your other team was an automatic reply for any new member joining that team
Go to your SparkTeams (under Community) and click on Manage My Team Emails/Settings. Very last column called Team SparkMail. Make sure it's checked. If it's not, you won't receive any email from team leaders.

Pampa, my email is set up to receive emails. Matter-of-fact, I get a lot of emails. And my personal email gets blown up from all the notifications I get. No, I never received an email about you becoming leader. I joined a menopause teams and I've received emails from a couple of their co-leaders.

Lucy, you might have setup your SparkPage not to receive emails. Because not only you would've received a SparkMail but notification on your personal email about the SP Mail.

Did you receive emails when I became a leader of this team? Please let me know and we'll find someone at SP to look at your Page.

I was wondering what was taking you so long. emoticon No, really I was.

Took a long weekend to see my parents and sisters this weekend. Since I missed my walking club distance on Sunday, I dragged them along with me. Knocked out a 3 mile walk with just the sisters, then the whole family walked into town and back (checking out the library book sale). A little slower pace than on my own, but a very enjoyable and gratifying 5.3 miles for the day!

Sounds like an excellent idea! I'm trying to do at least one online video (Cardio & Strength) per day.
I record my achievements in another team (in an old Challenge thread), but none has joined me for the last couple of weeks, and I feel alone for the moment. If anyone here could motivate and challenge me, that would be great to support each other towards our goal.

My idea was to get people into groups in a private team as there's no room on our message boards. I wanted to combine cardio (walking) with simple strength exercises which requires 'working out'.
It'll be helpful for those who do not have any plan of action on how to or what to exercise but willing to put in the effort to lose weight. If you already belong to another team and you're happy with your steps then you'll definitely be bored or over worked.
When it comes to exercise, well other things too, I don't like to be told as I like to pick and choose. Only because I get burnt out easily and lose interest. So definitely a variety but I haven't reviewed all the SP videos.
For those of you who are nervous (aahhhh) not sure why???? If we're in groups, it'll be a group effort. Which means if you're in other teams, then you'll have to prioritize your exercise schedule.
And you can be a 'fan' of your group but not your competitor, right? LOL. emoticon Well, of course there's going to be some competition. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fun.
The results we can post with our team here including your names.

The reason I'm interested is because I'm doing good with my steps (can always increase with group effort) but I need variety for my strength workouts. And a lot of the times, I don't have time or not committed because I'll find something else to do. I'm sure I'm not alone in this so if anyone is interested let us know.

(excuse my misprint as it's past my bedtime and I have to get up real early) emoticon

Great start to the day with a walk in this beautiful "autumn-like" weather! It's only lunch time and there are already 11,326 steps on my pedometer.
