I use to eyeball it and after I started to measure, I found out I was eating less than the measure emoticon Now I use it more often Measure my cereal and my milk, water, use my tablespoon and teaspoon. I'm sure to eat my calories emoticon

Doing okay with my portions. I tend to eyeball my portions now and occasionally check them with measuring cups and spoons. I do use a scale to weigh out some foods especially meat servings.

I just figured out how to find the weekly challenge.
I'm very good at choosing healthy, but not so good at portion sizing.
I definitely need to start measuring portions. It will help me a lot.
Thank you
PS
I love the photo and write up from the flapper!!! You look great!

MWHIGDON007: Thanks for sharing; I'm sure we're not the only ones that overate and made wrong choices. Let's just close that door and move on. I'm working real hard to lose the gained pounds emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Had a wonderful valentine's dinner with my husband. Made good choices with salad, grilled salmon and asparagus and grilled scallops for an appetizer. 3 oz glass of wine, I had half of the most delicious roll, first I have had in a year. We went to High Point Rest in Monteagle, TN which is an historic place where Al Capone had a speakeasy. I loved the atmosphere, I dressed in my roaring 20's flapper dress and was all about the ambiance. We took pictures and had a wonderful time. The food was excellent and my portions were greater than normal. I was not stuffed but was pleasantly satisfied and content. Was a fun and memorable experience that I will remember for a long time. I have been on healthy keto and Intermittent fasting for a year and have lost 67 pounds. I have 33 pounds to lose to get to my goal weight. I have set July 1 to accomplish this but if not I will be there when I get there. I'm enjoying the journey. LOL sorry for the sideways photos, not sure how to correct that.

Dieting is the False God of many for years. A handful got rich by us paying them to get into the "secret plan" and the rest of us got fat. So again I say NO diet, but EAT HEALTHY!

I've been saying for months to be mindful of what you eat. This week your challenge is to MAKE better choices of what you eat. I've been saying that what we ate got us fat and now what we eat will get us lean! A pound of aluminum and a pound of gold is still a pound. But which has more value? The same goes for food choice. A pound if ice cream and a pound of 0% fat yogurt is a pound. But which is the healthier choice?

Example: This Valentine's day, my sweet husband paid me a treat! A surf and turf buffet. I was like a child at Christmas. I ate and yes overate! Even had strawberry cheesecake! Needless to say, that set me back and made it hard for me to reach my weight loss goal for February. Bad enough I didn't make good choices but the portion was way to big. I'm not going to beat myself up for it because this isn't the norm for us. It was a rare occasion. I've closed the door and not looking back. I'm moving forward.

CHOICES and PORTION SIZE is this weeks challenge
