I have been reading a lot. Handmaiden's Tale, Who are the Celts?. a Tony Hillerman mystery "Thief of Time, and a Alex Cross mystery. About out of books, need to go shopping at the thrift store or some such place. I am visiting my sister in Idaho, she lives in a small town that does not have many places to get used book. Oh I just remembered as I was typing this that the local library has a used books for sale shelf. I will go there today. Yep, when I am reading I am not eating. Such a nice bonus.

aye, seems like many of my teams alternate between busy and crickets. What are you reading these days?

I woke up this morning wondering if there were enough people in this group to pick a book and we all read the same book then talk about it. But there appears to be only the two of us. I think it is not a good idea, but people can post and make me wrong.

GREBJACK, So glad you found the little free library..

What a great idea! Not only did I find one six blocks from my home on their map search, but then I also opened an email gothamtogo.com/commissioner-mitchell
-s
ilver-on-a-working-walk-through-in-mR>arcus-garvey-park/
today about the parks commissioner touring a local park to discuss improvements with local residents and IT included a mention of little free libraries in that park! It's meant to be.

I had heard about "little free librarys" before but just last week our local newspaper had a short about them and gave locations where to find them Maybe if you google little free library in your town you can find one close to you. The place where you used to leave books sounds like it may be one, but maybe there is one closer to your home.

I also have very little space - I live in a room in someone else's apartment - but even when I owned my own home I didn't keep books except for reference things like a dictionary and cookbooks. I mostly get my books from the library, but sometimes I'm in a hurry for bookclub or my library doesn't own it, and then I buy used books, mostly online since I'm looking for a specific title and browsing at the used book stores and thrift shops is inconvenient for that. I have traded books through paperbackswap and bookmooch, but users on those seem to have dropped off. in 2016-2017 my job was near a subway station with a "library" swap box, but that's way out of the way now. So I have five books sitting in my closet that need a new home...

I rarely buy new books. I am a fan of used books stores and libraries. I take the finished book in and get another one I haven't read yet. Most libraries now have a used book shelf where you can buy/trade your books. If I get one that is really special to me I may keep it but I live in an RV and don't have big book shelves like I had in my stick and brick house.
How about you and your books.

curious to hear what folks do with books you've bought when you're done reading them.
