We had 7 people take up the Pre-Thanksgiving Challenge

Two did an amazing 9 out of 10 Days Friendly!
Two of us did 8/10 - wonderful!
One did 7/10 (or 0/10 depending how she looks at it) - pretty good!
Two did 6/10 - over half the time is really good!


I did not ask for permission to post names with numbers, and some did not post it here...
(learning experience in running a challenge)

and anyway - We all tried and we all did really well!
every day friendly is a gift to your body!
making us ALL WINNERS

Ham is SO SALTY Lora, it is a good bet that ham would be an issue based on that alone. At Easter time I had ham well-supported by potassium foods to balance the sodium and gained 0.2#, but it was a well orchestrated menu for the day.

On the upside, any gain from salt tends to come off pretty quickly!

Ham must not be friendly for me the three days I had it I was up and not in a small way. Two days I was blaming other stuff but now looking back and I am pretty sure it was the ham.

Sorry I haven't been checking in. I got the email from JAVA, so I'll give you a summary of how this challenge went for me: I have a really hard time having a "perfect" friendly day, so I'm considering this all relative. I would say I had 7 relatively friendly days out of the 10, but probably none were perfect. My weight kept fluctuating around the 3-5 lbs. below my "scream" weight, but was probably at its highest just before we left town for Thanksgiving. We just got back in town about an hour ago, so I'm anxiously awaiting the tale of the scale in the morning. There were definitely some things at Thanksgiving that were not friendly to me, based on the bloating and gas that I was feeling. It all tasted so good, though!

I'm going to re-create a full Thanksgiving meal now that I'm back home, but I might try testing one suspicious food at a time to see if I can narrow down the culprit(s). However, if it's something that I only eat at special occasions, I won't worry about it -- just catalog it as something to be a little wary of in general.

Now I'll go back and read how everyone else did. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, regardless! We sure did!

I did pretty good leading up to Thanksgiving. I had only one day with a bad hiccup, I nibbled on an unfriendly cookie (paid for it in itching and discomfort). My Thanksgiving day dinner plans got changed when friends gave us a turducken. I think turducken is mostly friendly for me. Turkey is not friendly for me, so yesterday I ate just the chicken and duck and a bite of the stuffing. Between running my 5K (definitely not friendly exercise for me) pretty hard and eating a few foods not friendly to me, I was up 2 pounds yesterday. I did maintain today, so I am hoping I will have a big drop tomorrow and most was running inflammation.

Today I am eating all friendly and no heavy exercise. The next few days will be eating friendly and going for long walks. I hope that I can recover quickly. I usually only run twice a week and I have been recovering faster as I get in better shape.

Congrats that is awesome. I am so happy for you!

I was up a little due to a few parties prior to the holiday but had dropped back down to 125.0 after yesterday though it is horrible I am at 127.6 I have not been that high since summer, I know it will go down though, I had some soda, pecan pie, wings (during game that Lions won WOOT!, ham, cranberries, sweet potatoes...)I am sick of thinking of all of it but I am good only two parties between now and Christmas so far so I am good I think LOL.

I got it off before I can again I know it!

I ate Friendly 8 out of 10 days leading up to today, Thanksgiving Day
and am down ~3#
and I hope my mind is in a better place to work through the Holiday Season of Foods that starts today.

just today left of our 10 Days to Thanksgiving Challenge!

yesterday, I ate an untested restaurant meal AND walked an unfriendly 5 miles instead of my friendly 3.75 and gained.

so, I am calling yesterday an UnFriendly Food Day for this challenge.

I am 7 out of 9 Friendly vs UnFriendly Food Days in this Challenge.

I thought I ate friendly yesterday but stayed same for last two days 124.8 still trying to get back down to 122 or 123.
as long as stay below 125 though I am happy!

I ate Friendly yesterday -

I emoticon TP Chicken Parmesan. I have fresh basil growing on my windowsill and this is such a fresh and wonderful tasting dish and the closest thing to a pizza taste I can do right now - may even be better!

Hubby brought home a piece of baklava last night, and I suspect it would have been friendly for me but I decided to *hug* "THANK you for thinking of me, but NO THANKS, no baklava for me today." Day 4 completed Friendly - emoticon

Aim for more Friendly Days than not through Thanksgiving or a string of Friendly Days until the day!

I'm still doing well. I'm very glad to be eating all the veggies again, which can be hard when one is traveling and visiting friends.
I especially enjoyed the different textures in my roasted veggies last night - not only the different tastes, but the vastly different textures.

Ok - I'll start!

Mon 11/18 Friendly!!!!

reminders: you can post it here or in the Daily Check-In, I'll tally it from either place.

This challenge is not about losing weight, if it is your TOM or you are stressed at work or whatever DOESN'T matter to this challenge. You don't have to mention your weight results unless you want to!

This is about choosing to eat as many FRIENDLY Days as you can before Turkey Day!

Even if you are still testing - go ahead and note that yesterday was a testing day and if it ends up Friendly, I'll count that! - if it ends up reactive - you still may end up having more friendly days than some of us who sometimes slip-up (hey, it happens)

I'm throwing out a challenge!
Most of us have been here awhile and are well past the first 20 test days.

Counting today, there are 10 days until Thanksgiving!
People generally responded in the Holiday threads that they will just eat the traditional foods and suffer the consequences rather than prep ahead with testing....

SO

The Challenge to you is to eat FRIENDLY as many of the next 10 days as you can!

Rules:
-Pop in here OR post in the Daily Check-In thread after each day AND SAY "Friendly Day" or "Not Friendly Day" in your post.
-You should account for every day of the 10 days somehow, example: "Mon 11/18 Friendly" or somesuch.

No judgements! just support!
SparkGoodies will be awarded, but more importantly, you'll be further on your journey before the Holidays really hit!
