emoticon Hi! Remember me? Yes, I know I've been pretty scarce lately. Not only have the holidays made life hectic, but at the same time I have been working to get a job working for my church, which finally officially happened on 12/23! emoticon It's the perfect part-time job that I've been wanting to do forever, doing accounting work for the current treasurer (I used to be the volunteer treasurer for 5 years, but had to resign since it was a time-consuming job that was hurting my efforts to succeed at my paying job).

Unfortunately, a big part of the job involves me being at the church office on Mondays, which I've done since December 16. This has totally wrecked my efforts to eat friendly on Mondays, I must admit! So, looking back, between the colonoscopy and the new job, I don't think I had a single Monday that was all friendly. OTOH, I have stayed as close to it as possible most days of the week. Well, maybe not THAT friendly lately, with all the Christmas goodies lying around!

I was going to restart the cleanse starting tomorrow, but knowing that we have two holiday parties to go to this weekend, I think I'll start next Monday instead. That will give me time to get stocked up, and get all the Christmas temptations out of the house, along with the decorations.

I'm glad that you ladies are hanging in there, and managing to lose some weight on occasion, even during the holidays. Pat yourselves on the back!

Have a happy New Year! emoticon

Thanks Lora!

For me a no gain, but stay the same result is NOT friendly - that is only true for those of you so close to goal! - you lucky duck!

but crab IS friendly for me, I've tested it before! - even some slices of birthday cakes have worked in the past, but I'm just going with the flow today, eating friendly and having cake and celebrating my boy!

Tomorrow is the last "Make Amends Monday" of 2013 - a friendly day between the weekend and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day.

Is anyone planning a Friendly Menu Day tomorrow?

Tomorrow is my son's birthday - he requested crab legs for dinner, which are friendly for me - so I will be eating friendly up until cake time...

Had my cereal no blueberries so I had a cutie (very small orange and half a banana), very small spinach salad with 2 mushrooms and another cutie.

Planning on lentils tonight and then some dark chocolate.

I was up 1.2lbs this morning, ate friendly yesterday but we spent an hour stacking wood and and hour shoveling so I think that may have put me over but that much? Not sure. Did not sleep well either.

I am the same way Java. I have to be ahead, one extra all that or to easy for me to slide, I have been sliding. Yes I had pasta with cream sauce (red) and a half a soda (Squirt), 2 mini cupcakes and an Egg McMuffin then I was over on my water since I had some green tea after we got in from shopping. My boyfriend made it and I could not say no to him.

Thanks, JAVA! The colonoscopy results were fine, so I don't have to go back for 5 years now. Woo hoo!

My weight results from the Monday Challenge are hard to calculate, but I'm still down about 2 lbs. or so from my pre-fasting weight. I'll take it! I'm back on my flax cereal breakfast, and planning the broccoli soup and salad for lunch. I'll try to stay friendly as much as possible this week so I can keep the weight off. Unfortunately, I have a lot more weight to lose than many of you on this thread, so it's going to take some long-term commitment and perseverence to get the 40-50 lbs off. I'll keep plugging away, because the alternative is not acceptable!

I would relish the scale being down that much!!! Just like after having the flu, though, I don't envy what you went through to get there!! LOL At least the colonoscopy is an important reason to suffer through that!

Hopefully your weight results won't be too bad this morning and you could have a friendly Tuesday to help balance it out again. Good Luck! (and of course, I hope your test results are good as well!!!!!)

JAVA, I have to laugh about your question on Sunday, asking whether we were "prepped" for today -- since I was prepping for my colonoscopy for today, I guess you can say I was doing some serious prepping, lol! emoticon As a result of 41 hours of fasting by the time it was done, I had dropped something like 6-8 lbs. during that time (I'm sure the ghastly Suprep that I had to drink to get "cleaned out" had a lot to do with it). I'm sure a lot of it will come back now that I'm eating again, but I'm going to enjoy that low number on the scale while I can!

I made DH take me out for a very late lunch (like 3 pm) right after leaving the doctor's office, and we ate at the restaurant where we had our first date 32 years ago! We both had the shrimp angel hair pasta that had sun-dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts, so I'm figuring that wasn't exactly the most friendly thing I could try, but I was HUNGRY! Then I had a turkey sandwich for dinner a few hours later (turkey tested friendly for me last week, so I hope it's okay). All in all, I had a relatively friendly day, unless you count the inflammation that JAVA warned me about from the colonoscopy. Here's hoping I can hang onto at least some of that loss tomorrow morning!

You ladies are all doing well to start this challenge. I'm sure being accountable on here will help each of us to think twice about what we eat, at least on Mondays! emoticon

Java-wtg for saying no to the mac & cheese

I'm on day 9 of doing this plan. I've had a good plan day so far since I've been at home b/c of the ice & snow. It's easier when things are prepared and I can eat/drink when I please.....blueberry pear chia compote for breakfast, baby romaine/sunflower seeds/baby carrots/avocado/veggie soup for lunch; ns chips for snack & chicken/greens/kale/carrots/onion for dinner. I also added homemade paleo dark chocolate (less than 60%) today (I had it after lunch) since it's on the menu for the friendly day. I didn't do it after dinner b/c I usually run out of time trying to finish dinner and fit my water in. Hope that's ok. I didn't get a migraine headache following that I worried about, which was really good. We'll see about weight loss tomorrow.

Six of us so far
- planning to work this Challenge as many December Mondays as we can!

You do Not have to share your menus to participate -
share as much or as little as you wish to!

I have my flax granola, almonds and dried cranberries with Silk UnSweetened Coconut Milk beverage ready to eat once I hit 45 minutes since I drank my water!

My plan for lunch is carrot ginger soup and a salad of lettuces, granny smith apple, avocado, and pumpkin seeds with lemon juice and a light EVOO.

I'm not sure I will get a chance to have my snack today - (afternoon meetings) but will take some nuts and a pear with me in case I get the opportunity or NEED to snack.

My plan for dinner is EITHER - Culver's fish dinner (battered cod/green beans/coleslaw/bun) split in half with hubby and NS chips (which is very friendly for both of us!) OR leftover chicken/broccoli/potato/carrot from yesterday. We both will be too busy to really cook dinner today, so it has to be easy tonight.

Here is to a KIND start to this December week!

Welcome SATM31 and BlessedLoser/KarenW !!!

Karen, Your Monday/Tuesday weighins could be a really good ones - your body already knows how to get rid of the extra water, etc! lol just don't panic if it goes up a little Wed, stuff like this changes your weight with good reason - there may even be a little inflammation connected to having a colonoscopy.

To Everyone:
even if you see you can't meet the Challenge all 4 Mondays - join us anyway!

Great idea! I will have an odd day this coming Monday, though, since I'm having a colonoscopy in the afternoon. That means a clear liquid diet all day Sunday, and nothing to eat or drink at all on Monday until after my procedure. emoticon But I can try to eat clean the rest of the day, and I bet my weight will be down by Tuesday for sure! emoticon

This Challenge is to Make Amends on Mondays in December
by eating a very Friendly Menu from your data
on the rest of the Mondays in December.

Parties and gatherings tend to be on the weekends or later in the week.
Christmas and New Year's Day are Thursdays, with their Eve celebrations on Wednesdays.

It looks like Mondays may be a good day for most of us to eat Friendly.
Choose TP Day 2 or Day 3 or maybe another Day's Menu that you have identified as being really Friendly for you, (not Day 1, per LG's suggestion,) and Eat that on Mondays.

Who will take up this Challenge
to eat a totally Friendly Menu on the rest of the Mondays in December!?!?!
