Thanks everyone! I'm going to try a couple of the recipes this week but will start the whole plan on Jan. 6th. Meanwhile I am monitoring my weight closely now and limiting the variety of foods I am eating. So far this week nothing I've eaten seems to be reactive so this will definitely be an interesting experiment.

Marilyn, there just aren't that many recipes for the twenty days. If you read thru the menus, it's a lot of "approved veggies or protein on a bed of greens", that sort of thing. The sauces are optional. Other than the coconut curry sauce, I never bothered with any others. Also, the carrot soup has so few ingredients, after a couple of times, you just make it from memory. Same with the flax granola - soak two parts flax seed in one part water. Add spices to taste.

Java, to clarify, LG did not recommend doing the cleanse every thirty days. Rather, when people asked how often they could do it, she said it should not be repeated more frequently than 30 days.

As for the flax, some women have experienced strong reactions to it, so be careful. After the first couple wks on TP, you should have the flax only a couple times a week.

Marilyn: The first 3 days of recipes are here but divided into prep steps:

I don't think many of the recipes are online because that would hurt book sales AND because of copyright law, though I have seen some of them posted here and there online.

I hope you also caught the thread on the carrot ginger soup as the tweaks noted there improve it quite a bit!

Because you don't grind the flaxseed, they are not as estrogenic as if you did. There should be no problem in you eating it... I had the same surgery for the same reasons 10 years ago and have eaten the flax granola and have not noticed an improvement in hot flashes, night sweats (those are surgical menopause symptoms I have had since getting off the estrogen patch 9.5 years ago) which doesn't mean YOU won't react differently.

I'm working on being prepared to begin the 3 day cleanse on January 6th.

Question - is there a place where I can find the recipes (for at least the first three days but all 20 would be even better) either here on the team or on the internet? I like to save recipes in my computer 1. so I can print them and 2. so I can find them more easily in the future.

I saw the thread about making flax granola cereal - loved all the tips! I'm planning on making that tomorrow - I am WAY impressed that a cup has 40g of protein!! I struggle to get in enough protein.

One more question (I don't know if anyone will have this answer but thought I'd ask):

I had a hysterectomy with my ovaries removed over 30 years ago (due to enometriosis) and took estrogen until I weened myself off it a couple of years ago. So now I have a number of symptoms of too little estrogen. Given that, would eating the flax granola be ok for me? Perhaps even help that issue?

TIA for your help - I'm getting very excited about this experiment!!

Meg: ie Cleanse Frequency

The Plan book, page 162/163

"I actually recommend redoing the twenty days every six months or so, just to see what, if anything, has changed in your chemistry.

Just about everyone asks how often they can redo the cleanse (yes, it's true: the thing people originally fear the most is what they want to come back to!)"

I recommend doing a full three days [the cleanse days] once every seasonal change."

Meg, if you can point me to where LG (or Cindy) has said once a month, I would be interested in seeing that, as I thought she had said NOT to do it more than seasonally (what equates to 4 times a year.)
At one point, I was trying to document these kind of factoids that they said on the FB page, but that is SO unsearchable, I'll check what I have from there, so far, if you could do the same... thank you.

I believe LG says you can do the 3-day cleanse as often as once a month, but she says not to do it any more frequently than that.

Lora:
LG says we can do a reboot once a seasonal change - we have 4 seasons here, so I think that would be once every 3 months or so.

I just did a reboot at the end of October and called that one Autumn, (I was late, but so was Fall!) and I was planning to wait until mid-February (my 1 yr TP anniversary) to reboot again,
BUT, I am leaning towards doing the reBoot starting January to get back into the game after the Holidays.

You could just start "clean" from a certain day as a way to get back on track, too, if you don't want to do a true reboot.

Will you be getting back on track after the Holidays?
Do you have a day in mind to restart?

I just did it in the Fall. Should I do it again?

That sounds good to me!! I was debating on what day to start - it will be nice to have others on the same 'page'!

Is there a date YOU are planning to Start or ReBoot The Plan in January?

I'm tentatively thinking Monday, January 6th for my ReBoot....

What are YOU thinking?

There will be a thread in the General Discussion Board closer to the start of the New Year for us to support each other!!!!!
