Yes, it is better to be off workouts for a short time than to have an injury. Injuries can put you out of workouts for several weeks. Take it slow.

thanks so much for the advice. yes i hate listening to my body even though when i didn't it got worse in the past. you would think i would learn my lesson.

i'm gonna stay active just be very careful not to over exert my hamstrings.

That doesnt mean you have to stop your activity but you just dont want to make it worse so monitor it by toning down your intensity of spinning and be sure to ice after. Just listen to your body not your mind. That is tough part of being injured, you have to be patient and smart.

IBUPROFEN is a great anti inflammatory. The ice will also help.
For preventative problems with my "tweaky" right knee, I put ice on it after every workout before it starts to hurt.

Thanks for the advice! 10 days huh??? man. I really want to atleast do spinning on saturday. what about that?

Start RICE now and no kickboxing today. Ice for the next 72 hours, with about 1000mg Ibuprofen for the next 10 days straight with meals, not to miss a day. Then see where your at. You can still workout but nothing with that kind of exertion until the inflammation goes down.

I lifted legs and then did kickboxing 2 days ago. I have felt fine until today where I'm feeling a little pull in my left hamstring. Not excruciating just a little pull feeling.

Should I skip out on kickboxing tonight???
