InMycocon...I know several people on prednisone who gained weight despite diet and excercise and doing everything right..so it's not your fault.

Check with your doctor, but it may not be possible to lose the weight until you get off prednisone.

you don't have to see the whole staircase. Just take the first step.

Hi - I am glad that you have finally gotten a diagnosis. It explains the symptoms you have had over time.

Talk with your Dr about exercise before you start on it. It might be that just some gentle walks is all that is advised at present. Also, ask for a referral to a Registered Dietitian, and use the Nutrition tracker as mentioned in The Wall Post.

Everyone with GERD OR Crohn's Disease is affected in different ways by certain foods, so it is really a case of trial and error. Hubby was very lucky in that he could eat virtually whatever he wanted without negative effects, and really the only time he had to pay close attention to food is when he was actually having a flareup and needed a low residue diet.

You are very welcome to start you own threads, which will help to keep the initial post on this one easily visible.

Good luck,
Kris

I want to be comfortable in my skin. I want the swollen legs, feet, face and hands to stop. Anyone else have weight gain? I was given Delzicol and Prednisone (for 6weeks) when i was diagnosed. The bleeding has finally stopped for the first time since April. I also developed GERD for which i never had before. PLEASE HELP!!!! ANY INFO IS APPRECIATED.

Of course, input from a Registered Dietitian must take precedence.
