I've found that I do some of my best, clearest thinking while I'm walking. Usually it's on my way to or from work, but I'm trying to get myself motivated to take evening strolls through the neighborhood as well. I also think that the park might finally be reopening their trails, so I'm excited to get back into the woods and do my walking.

I usually walk to and from work with music, but I've just downloaded an audiobook onto my phone, so I'll see how listening to one of those goes.

I want to get my treadmill set up before the cold weather comes back, so I can't use "it's too cold" as an excuse to not move. Besides, one of my biggest goals to is to find inner calm, and walking is such a great stress release!

Hi :) I so know the feeling! I have a trail by my apartment and I love to go walking on it when I can! Of course it has to be in the morning or evening being that I live in Florida and it's like 100 degrees here now. Nonetheless, I also find walking helps relieve my stress. I'm moving in a week and unfortunately the trail won't be as accessible. But this new place has a great gym so maybe I can do my walking on a treadmill :) We will see!

I'm new to SparkPeople. I recently started walking on a daily basis. I average about 4 to 6 miles a day. Walking is my main form of exercise and I do most of it on a treadmill. It is great stress-relief for me to just put on my music and forget about everything for a while. Hoping to make a few friends while I'm losing weight. :)
