emoticon Drink the 64. Watch the calories on the horrible over processed food my husband got and is feeding to me. Do 15 to 20 on the recumbent bike or treadmill. We can do this.

After being sick since the 3rd of the month, I can finally say I feel better today. It feels like a new beginning!

emoticon I will do at least 10 minutes of exercise a day for the rest of the week. Next week I'll go up to 15 minutes a day. If I can do more I will but I'm committed to the above. emoticon

My eating plan is hard to define as we're staying at home and eating of what we have in the freezer and pantry. However, I do have control over portions.

I will drink 64 ounces of water a day.

So this is the plan for the rest of the month.

Already day 5 and I'm not doing as well as I thought I would. Hopefully the last party was Saturday and the last of the company has left today. I'm as mindful of what I eat as I can be under the circumstances but it's usually more than what I usually eat.

On the 19th celebrate 2 birthdays - my husband and his twin brother and then my sister is on the 22nd. We usually go to the restaurant of their choice.... they usually choose buffet emoticon Meanwhile, I'll be watchful of what I eat every other day.

HI there
I have suffered 4 years now with burtitis and bilateral hip pain and meds make me feel nauseas all day and night.Just had recent surgery on left hip (now week 6) as surgeon found my pain was also due to my tendons in the hip basically being off the bone. Now reinforced and screwed back to the bone and he took out the bursa. Long time recovery though (6-12months) and then I have the other one to be done!

Pilates and massage has been my best recomendations as I have done these since my back problems 15 years ago. Pilates (at a physio) is in my mind fantastic as it is gentle but also works the body depending on your fitness. So soon I can go back and do some basic exercises to strengthen my hip/buttock muscles and then gradually increase from there.

Hope you find some relief. It's hard to explain to others how much pain burtitis causes. Some days I feel like I am falling apart. Due to my mobility now on a frame I have also developed burtitis in both shoulders. Very frustrating but yes one step/day at a time.
All the best Lindsey

I hate taking pills as well. About 6 months ago, I went cold turkey (I would not recommend this to anyone) and got off of most of my prescription meds. It helped. I had already started suffering from Adrenal Fatigue though so now I have to rebuild my body and no telling how long that will take. (I'm told maybe 3 years) I am on a bunch of supplements now though (hate that too) But you are right, one day at a time! Thats all we can do! :)

Best of luck to you as well. In addition to the pain meds (which cause weight gain), I'm also on Cholesterol medicine (which causes weight loss). If I can concentrate on getting healthy, hopefully I can get off of everything. I hate taking pills.............

I am trying to get off of all and any of my pain pills, which is hard as you know. I just can't stand the side effects anymore. And I think they are what made me sick to begin with.
Good luck in your endeavers!!

Thanks. I'm doing better each day. I think stress and depression are part of the problem. Or I tell myself they are. I have always been very active growing up so I figures arthritis would be my problem. Who knew bursitis could hurt so bad??????

At the moment I'm on pain pills to ease the pain. This weekend I plan to get in the swimming pool since the water's still cool and see if that will help with the inflammation. I can't seem to sit still long enough to work with ice packs... Believe me, today was a struggle to get started on the stairs but by the time I got to the top and back, the muscles themselves had loosened up some. My doctor has also recommended yoga/pilates. I'll try to check those out this weekend as well.

That's awesome! What are you doing for the bursitis pain though? I have a bad back (amongst a list of other health problems) and just wondering what your plans are? :)

I drink a lot of water so I visit the ladies room quite often during the day. My new committment (started a couple of weeks ago but stopped due to bursitis pain) is the walk up three flights of stairs before I go back to my desk. My goal is to be able to do the three flights more than one time before going back to work.
