Late in posting March results.
We vacationed for most of March and so did not meet my goal of 9 AF days.
Only made 3.

But April is a new month!!!!

We'll, it's still early on the 31st here, but I plan to be AF today, so I will have reached my goal of 20AF for the month (just). This was a challenging month for me, and I am looking forward to starting fresh in April.

Measuring in and happy to report a confirmed 17 days AF for the month!!

Had set a goal of 15 days so I'm very pleased.

We're on the home stretch to finish up the month team! How have you been doing? Have you met your goals... are you reflecting at what plans you will make for April.

I had set out to have 15 AF days for the month and I am as of today at 14 days and plan on finishing the month AF - to reach a total of 17 days for this month! I also managed that 10 day streak and hope to improve upon the 'streak' next month too!

With every step, every change, we make things better! This team is simply amazing and I thank each and every one of you for 'being there'! Your support is truly, greatly appreciated!! emoticon

I got 10 days AF streak in and going to finish the month with another 10 day AF streak to make it 20 for the month - my highest number (breaking my 19 day record of last January 2009).

Yay! Today was 4th day in a row without drinking. I'm feeling pretty good the last few days so I'm glad that I haven't drank. How is everyone else doing?

I just came back to sparkpeople after a long hiatus. I am going to try to finish out March AF. I made a goal to go 14 straight days without drinking and if I finish out the rest of this month, it will be 15. Last week I drank 3 out of 7 days and I think it was 1 or 2 the week before. I'm much better than I used to be!

It's amazing how having NOT set a specific goal for the month (with my holiday plans) has led me to a 9 day streak. So for March I am hoping to beat my highest number of 14 days - should be manageable since I will have 11 days AF before I leave on holiday.

Spring Break has put me behind on everything - including setting my AF goals for March! Oh well, we had fun :-)

I am 6 days AF so far - I felt sooooo bad after the one day I did drink that I'm not feeling too keen about drinking at all. But, let's be realistic - I will likely have a glass or two of wine this month.

I have a standing goal of 25 AF days - there's nothing major on the horizon, so I'm going to stretch myself a tiny bit and aim for 26 days this month (hey, baby steps, right?)

I feel good about life and being aware of drinking in my life. How it affects how much I eat after drinking? How it affects my desire for dessert and snacks after dinner? How it affects my weight? All related.

If I can stick to 1 or 2 beers I still have control over eating correct portions. More than 2 and control disappears.

:)
I just realized what AgingSlowly60 stands for = AS* (the last * or s is for sixty). LOL. I might have to change my name now that I realized what the initials are.....

I'm going for it for sure! We should make a rhyming song for the dates and AF days lol.

Got my 4th day in and accomplished so many great things! No plans for drinks tomorrow. I may have company on Saturday, so maybe then, but we'll see. I'm feeling so good about my progress and after that last month's stretch of drinking days I'm due for a long AF stretch!

I think my goal for March should be 10 days AF. So far, I am 0/4.
Congrats to everyone sticking to it!!

I have 2 out of 3 AF days this month.

I have read that 'drinking' deadens the negative thought patterns that occur. I know this is why I drink some evenings.

Sometimes I drink to celebrate positive thought patterns. So either way I am choosing to drink.

I also notice that on days that I might have a larger late lunch - I do not feel like a beer at 5:00 as I am full.

SEPTEMBER: You are doing good - keep it up!!!!

I went through my calendar and going to face up to what February's totals were...

9AF days in February (but a streak of 9 days that started in January into February).
I managed to get 14 days AF in January.

Goals for March... well given I will be taking a week's vacation, I'm not sure what that will entail and not setting myself up for any goals during that 'off' time. Just going to enjoy and do what feels good in my gutt!

I think that getting sick in February, led to more drinking days as I tried to manage the stress/anxiety of it all and it just propelled me into a darker place.

It felt great to get my first AF day in yesterday after 17 days of drinking... I'm feeling good and taking things one day at a time.

The book I read from Allen Carr I think threw me for a loop a bit as it refers to alcohol as devastation and it's how I felt in February. My sub-conscious mind works in crazy ways at times...

So I think I'm going to concentrate on following my instincts and doing what feels good rather than what makes me feel 'guilty'... and go from there!

I do not log onto Spark very often, but I find it imperative that I log onto this team and commit to something and admit to something. Both seem essential to me right now.

January goal 8 for 8
February goal 6 for 8

MARCH GOAL (gosh I would like to write down 10 here, but).... (or should I stick with 8).....I guess I'll try for....

9 AF days.

I am, once again, going for every other day AF, with a few longer streaks in there, and never more than 2 glasses per day.
Good luck, everyone!

Hi Team! Well I only managed 3 days AF in February and so I'm aiming for 4 in March. I'm actually hoping for a lot more but if I make my goal too big, I seem to get anxious and sabotage my plans.

Hi everyone! I'm sorry I have not been very active in February but March is here and it's time to get back to business!

Life has a way of throwing us curves at times and I have taken enough time out and have avoided things long enough so here's to an improved month ahead!

I didn't even count in February and almost afraid to profess what March will bring because of my lack of success this past month but I'm pushing forward and aiming to make it a better month!

Wishing my wonderful team continued success is whatever AF goals you set for yourself!
