Hey all! Final check-in!

I got back on track in August. I worked out almost every day, and my food choices were...ok. That's definitely where I struggle!

Anyway, my final weigh-in is 160.2! No, it's not the 159 I wanted, but it's pretty darn close. I lost 20 lbs exactly since the start of this challenge and 30 lbs since I started this journey back at the end of March. I have gone down two dress sizes. I can run a 7:40 mile (though I typically run a 9 minute mile! 7:40 was an anomaly! ) I love working out and I am in the best shape I ever have been. I feel really good.

I would like to lose about 10 more lbs. I've been sitting at a plateau for the past couple weeks, and I'm ready to break out if it. Since I only want to lose 10 more lbs, I need to switch groups, as I'm under the 25 lb limit here. :( You're all awesome and inspirational! GOOD LUCK AND WORK HARD!

How did all of you do??

When I joined this challenge in May, I wanted to loose 25 lbs by Sept 1. I only got to 10 lbs, but am sure I lost inches all over the place, plus did a 5K last Sunday with great progress compared to the last!

So instead of being upset for not making it, I will be looking forward to working harder for the next challenge! How about December 1?! Fit by Christmas?! Yay! emoticon

Not the best month for me. I find that when I'm moving away, the dinner invitations go way up, plus I don't really have time to exercise. I decided to give myself a bit of a break, and just do the best I can. I don't want to turn down time with friends who I won't see for months for this diet!

So, my 8/1 weigh-in (a day early) is 167.8, only two lbs down from July 1. Blech. Oh well. I'll get a fire under my butt once I get settled in my new city.

I did not meet my July goal and am very upset! But am not stopping! I joined the virtual 5k to be completed by the first week of August, and a real 5K to do on August 26. I need the pressure!

Original Weight: 195 lbs (my height is 5'8")

-accomplished several times, but then would jump back up 2-3 pounds.
June 9th - Last time I re-reached exactly 150.0.

I actually started my weight loss at the end of may. So probably, since I'm a guy, I've been losing and average of 3 lbs per week. A little unhealthy, but I'm good with that haha. My goal actual goal is to be 150 by October. It'll be a tough road, but I'm sure we can all reach our goals together :)

You can definitely do this! Just take a deep breath when you feel you can't go on. Then think of all you have to be grateful for: friends, a weekend away, an awesome birthday, new opportunities after the move, (grin) plenty of "extra" exercise during the move. You'll find the ability and strength to let go and smile, even through the worst of it.

Here's my update (a couple days late) for July 1. Today's weigh-in was 169.8...I GOT OUT OF THE 170 RANGE! WOOOOOO!!!!

This was a tough month for personal reasons. My boyfriend and I broke up (amicable and expected, but still hurts like crazy), I went on a weekend away with my girlfriends which included a good amount of food, and I had my birthday which meant I let myself go a bit crazy. I'm a bit worried about July, as I'm still struggling with my emotions, and I'm going to be really busy packing up and getting ready to move at the end of the month.

Just need to stay focused.

Here are my goals. I am taking this slow and measured to get to my interim goal weight of 130.
July 1st - starting weight is 152
August 1st - 145
September 1st - 140

Mini goals:
- Run a 10K race on August 11th
- Train 3 times per week
- Run Philly Half Marathon in October
- Drink 8 cups of water daily
- Practice yoga 2 times per week

I am starting late but that only means I will have to work harder to reach my goal and I can, no will do that. I am determined to lose 18 pounds in two months. I plan to follow 5 rules.

#1-go for an 45 minute brisk walk each day
#2-run 2.4k each day
#3-eat only when hungry
#4-when I do eat only eat healthy food/follow the canadian food guide
#5-Keep a positive attitude

That fact that you have not yet lost worries me but how long have you been following your plan? If you have been working very hard then you might have gained muscle not fat. To see if you have lost be sure to measure how large you are around your waist frequently to see if there is a change. Don't give up!!! You can do it!

UPDATE: I fought through my 3-month plateau during June. I did not make my goal for June, but am on track to make my updated goals ...which still end with me reaching 135.

July 1: 167.0 pounds (Actual: 168.2). :)).
****Made 167 on July 3rd! ***
August 1: 150.0 pounds
September 1: 135.0 pounds

That's about 35 pounds total to lose by September. If I consistently follow my lifestyle plan, I know I can do this.

Can't wait to get started. I'm 23 years old 5'1" and 173 lbs and hope to lose 30-40 lbs by September 2013. What a better way to start practicing setting realistic goals.

Update 07.23.2012 I am at 190.6 which means I am closer to my goal but I am not sure I will make my August goal :( I have had many ups and downs recently. Getting on track by writing out what I am going to eat everyday so I cannot fail :)

I'm in! I'll set my goals small as I'm so late starting.

Goals:
1) Work on upping my protein and reducing my fat/carbohydrate intake.
2) Walk for at least 15 minutes every day.

Current weight: 216ish I have NO access to a scale :( but I will in 1.5 months!
Goal weight: 180
Ultimate goal weight: 140

Since I don't have access to a scale, or any of my usual exercise equipment, I will do my best to use online videos & at home exercises, and just mainly focus on tracking what I eat and planning meals ahead of time! Then in August I will be back home where I can double my efforts and I'm sure make even more progress!!

Motivation:
*Show my family that it IS possible, and that we can do this together :)
*Show up at school in the fall looking a little better than when I left (last year!)

Hey everyone I just saw this challenge so I am a little late but would love to join.

I want to join, I did the summer one but I wasn't consistent enough and I would like to continue to try!

I'm late (I'm new) and I'm in!

ULTIMATE WEIGHT RANGE: 160-170 lbs

Objectives for plan:
1) Drink More Water - I'd like to drink more water... and stay away from soda.
2) Exercise 3-5 times a week, but do little toning things everyday whether it's wall push-ups or thigh exercises. I'd like to run a full 5k by the end of the summer... I'm doing one on Sunday... I'm at about 1.5-2 miles. It's a huge step for me because I never considered myself a runner EVER.
3) Cook and try some healthy recipes - I LOVE Pinterest and I find so many delicious looking, low fat items to cook. It'll be something new because I don't cook much, and hopefully I'll find some delicious and healthy new recipes to add to my arsenal.
4) Be more adventurous (and active) this summer - kayak, go out dancing more, take a hike, explore new towns (yada... yada... you get the point) ^_^

Thank you KOLOR! It really doesnt matter what I eat, if i'm going on a binge I will binge on ANYTHING! usually I have some really awesome snacks at home so that doesnt help, but if I'm binging at work, i can binge on fruits and veggies. Although they are healthy, they are still calories and LOTS of sugar (i tend to binge more on fruits than veggies). I am working on it, although last night I slipped up with the chocolate emoticon BUT this morning I made it a point to wake up 30 mins early, make my meal plan, prepare it, and track it ahead of time! i've also got my gym clothes packed and ready to go!! emoticon so i am hoping to head straight to the gym after work! We'll see how it goes!
How did you manage to get your binging under control???

PBLITZ - in terms of binge eating, does it matter what you eat, or are you more specific? When I emotionally ate, I often ate everything but the kitchen sink!
Now, I find that I can eat a lot of veggies, and a few small chocolates in between. The veggies really do help. It's also been a while since I emotionally ate. I sort of weaned myself away from it.

I LOVE eating fresh cut strawberries with a little dash of stevia. (I normally hate stevia, but I like it on strawberries.) I can eat a huge bowl of them, and the calories are quite low

OK. here's my update:

June 1: 150 - accomplished three different times. I keep reaching this weight, and then I suddenly gain like 2-3 pounds the next day. Anyway, I reached exactly 150.0 pounds (again) on Saturday, June 9th.

July 1: 145

September 1: maintain 145, or weigh less

I'm pretty pleased with my progress for June 1st. I'm currently at 157.5 which is 1.5 lbs away from my goal, but I haven't been sleeping as well with how busy my weekend was. So, I'm hoping with a little more sleep I'll drop back to 156 by the weekend.

I'm not really sure what occurred over Memorial Day weekend, but my body somehow gained ~4 lbs. I tried to keep everything in check on what I ate, but I'm not really sure what occurred. Since then, I've lost that weight but I didn't quite make my goal for June 1st. This month, I am going to keep up the weight loss, exercise regime, and eating healthier! Go June!

Current Weight: 205.5 lbs (5/14/2012)
Goal Weight (for challenge): 178 lbs
Weight to Lose: 27.5 lbs
ULTIMATE WEIGHT RANGE: 145-150 lbs

June 1st: 200 lbs, 1st weight in 203.1 (6/2/2012) (a little off)

Personal goals:
1) Continue to eat healthier
2) Exercise more -- I moved my goal up to 300 minutes of exercise a week instead of just exercising three days a week.

June 1 Update:

I hit 177.4, which is pretty close to my 177 goal! I'm having a bit of a tough time sticking to eating well. I definitely just want to eat when I have nothing else to do. No bueno. Going to keep at it though!

I have been pretty good about sticking to my exercise regime though. I really do love running! Took me years to get to this point, but I'm so glad I made it.

Here's to having an awesome June! Hope to be down to 171 by July 1!

Off to a good start, not necessarily weight wise, but have stuck to working out and eating well regularly. Hopefully the scale will start reflecting my work more.
