I'm new to these message boards, but not so new to Spark People. I've been overweight all my life & have been trying since Jan to lose weight....it seems like the more I try the more I gain. So I am going to join this challenge and hope that it will work & I will be able to see progress.

Hi everyone!
I'm challenging myself to 1-2 lbs a week and so happy I found this topic here. It's a very reasonable and healthy goal and we can totally do this!

Today my weight was 191.8- so I'm hoping to see 190 on the scale next Monday morning. Though I do want to switch to a different weigh-in day. Maybe Thursday or Friday? I'll see how it goes!

Focus on progress other than the scale!! Are you lifting heavier weights, feeling less tired? Have you taken measurements' lost inches? The scale is just one measure of your hard work. Sometimes, you have to gain a pound for your body to process all the work you are doing. Weight also can fluctuate day to day and throughout the day.

You are working hard and making progress. emoticon emoticon

June 22: 162- the yoyo continues! hoping I can break the string
June 29: 162- at 1-2 pounds a week, it will take me until November to get back where I was before my thyroid went crazy! Frustrating, but I have to be realistic about it!

another week and the scale didn't move A BIT even though i'm burning 1000+ calories a week AND eating within (but not under) my recommended calories. sigh. at least i'm getting healthier and stronger.

was up and started June higher than I'd hoped, left 6/1 for vacation and ended up sick during my trip but weight came back down!

So frustrated because the scale is going up instead of down. My clothes are fitting looser, but I weigh MORE! GRRRR!!!! anyway, def need to join this challenge. AND if anyone has super duper ideas for getting healthy, please share!!

Hi all

had a Sunday weighing and disappointed, gained a KG. My in law is here to stay and she just doesn't stop making yummy food and me eating more than what I had targeted. Reasons I know but wont stop in taking those large portions

I would like to join this challenge and be an every week looser

Hi All,

I am also looking to lose 1-2 lbs a week. I am also struggling with baby weight from 2 years ago. I'm shifting my mental energy to taking care of myself, with weight loss my number 1 goal.

I have started eating better, cutting out treats and drinking more water. This week I will focus on adding exercise back into my life. It's been missing for quite awhile!

I'd like to join this challenge! My daughter will be 2 in July and I'm not proud to say that I never lost all of the baby weight from when I had her...and I was already overweight before I got pregnant with her.

Unfortunately, I've just gone through a rough miscarriage (we've been trying for baby number 2 and have gone through 4 miscarriages now) which took a great toll on my body. I'm hoping that turning over a new leaf and becoming healthier will help me get through this miscarriage and through all of the upcoming testing that we will be going through.

I'd like to loose 1 lb a week.

It is so on! I started again with SP after being gone for a couple years and really lost control over my portions and gained weight. This week I am off to a good start. I have lost 1.6 lbs so far. This is a great challege. I hope to accomplish this so I can lose 15-20 lbs before we go to Florida in June.

I am going to jump in on this challenge. I am really trying to re-motivate myself. So, I am hoping being accountable for a challenge will give me the extra push. I would like to lose 20lbs by the end of summer. It is Tuesday, so I plan to try 1lb a week, weighing in on Saturday.

Started last tuesday, with a drastic but much needed change in my life. After having twins, I gave up on myself, spending all of my time on my 16, 8 and now 3 yo twins. Went to scout out gyms, and while there, I jumped on a scale.. only to see I weighed as much as I did when I delivered my twins :( So I joined that gym last monday and went to a class 6 days last week. I think I am addicted to the feeling of just being there. Some of the classes are really difficult and I am a little intimidated, but I would like to be down to 144 by the end of july... approx 44 lbs. I have lost 3 last week, which is a great step.. hope to continue on 1-3 lbs a week... Good luck everyone!!

I gained about 30 lbs over 6 weeks due to meds and have 10 weeks before DH and I leave for Cancun, so I definitely need this, too!

1-2 lbs per week, I could be down 15 pounds by the time we leave. Hoping it comes off as quickly as it came on!

Hi! I'm challenging myself to lose 1-2 lbs a week for a total of 25 lbs and am hoping there are people out there who want to join me!

I have an 8 month old baby - so I cant cut too many calories. I definitely have lots of room for eating improvement though! I am only a few lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight, but started out a bit overweight.

My goal is to work out at least 5 days a week and to eat healthy while cutting some calories but mostly making better food choices. I have 18 weeks until my son's first birthday and I would LOVE to be 20lbs lighter for the party!

What is your goal and how do you plan to do it?
