Hi! I am looking for a buddy (or two or three or more!!!) for workouts. The key is that I need someone to kick me in the butt when I'm slacking. So, I'm looking for someone who is willing to check in with me EVERY WEEK DAY and be there to provide support. And, of course, I'll be there on the other side.

Usually when I try to do this, the buddy thing is a little half-baked. If we really keep on each other, though, I think it can be successful. Please let me know if you are up for it!

(I am currently doing P90 - just started, and I will be adding running shortly. Exercising 6 days a week and really working on nutrition.)

Ha! I could relate to your post. In my mind I am still the skinny one but you are right... pictures don't lie. I would like a to have a few accountability buddies from this forum so if you are still in the market for one, let me know. I have no kids, 2 cats and my first goal is to lose 30 pounds and then see how I look and feel at that point to determine if I will lose more or not.

Hey all! I would like to have a fitness buddy. It would be nice for us to have some things in common so I'll share enough about me to see if we vibe. I turned 39 in May. My initial goal is to be under 200 pounds by September. I have 29 pounds to lose. I am self motivated and I have a pretty positive attitude most of the time so I won't be a drag on anyone...lol I just want/need someone with whom to check in with at the end of the day and say "Yay! I stayed within calorie range! or better day tomorrow, etc." and vice versa. I like friendly competition and random challenges.

I currently work out at home using Hip Hop Abs DVD's, and strength training (dumbbells,kettle bell) I like Cardio Kickboxing and on a struggle day I will resort to a Dance Walk exercise that is very low impact or floor exercises but I am determined to do some sort of exercise EVERY day. I am determined to reach my goal. It's Do or Die trying!

Hi! I would love to find a buddy to keep eachother motivated to continue exercising and watching what we eat. I am a 30 yo homeschooling mama to 5 active children. I suffer from CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) so it's hard to remain motivated to get outside and walk! :) Not to mention, I'm simply busy! It'd be great to have a fitness partner to email or text.

I'd love to have/be a buddy!

I'm 34, and I have three kids (14,13,12) but split custody with their father. Half a year here, half a year there (Long story)

I am mainly vegetarian but I will eat chicken/fish occasionally. I walk mostly for my exercise, but need to start using my kettle bells/resistance bands/stability ball again due to it being mud season up here in the backwoods of Maine.

I am home most of the week (only work weekends) so I'm pretty easy to get a hold of.

I am 33, step-mom to 3 teens (so it's practically like being childless!) and married to the most wonderful man in the world (for me). In 2012, I completed my first, and so far only, half-marathon. I am currently retraining to run another half-marathon. However, my program is taking it slow, starting with a training to run a 5K, then going on to a 10K, and finally the half-marathon training. So, I probably won't be running 13.1 until the end of 2014 or beginning of 2015, but that's OK! I don't want to cause any injuries due to overtraining.
I'm also doing yoga and strength training to help build my muscles and flexibility.

Hi! I'm new to Spark People/Community. I'm 39 y/o, single female with a very busy work schedule. Was much thinner when I was younger until I hit age 32/33. My hormones/para menopausal body kicked in. I'm at my heaviest 150+ (I used to average about 115 lbs). Want to feel better about myself and look better too. Been to the gym...go through my phases...once I find an excuse to take the day off..I tend to go downhill and end up not returning. Having a buddy to be there for one another, help motivate one another and hold ourselves accountable is what I need. I love meeting new people and doing fun things.

Turning 40 this June and hoping to go away at end of March to Miami. Is love the support and motivation.

I also need a buddy. I also used to be skinny, and still have the frame of mind that I am. When I look in the mirror I see something different than in pictures - in the mirror I'm still skinny, but pictures don't lie. Ugh! I have 38-43 lbs to lose. I have no kids.

Hi Ladies! I am days away from turning 32 and seriously hoping this is the year I get my health, weight and nutrition in check. Every year for my birthday I pick a goal or resolution to work towards for the year. Weight loss healthier eating habits and an increase in exercise are normally on the top 5 of my goal list. I'm new here and am in my 30s with close to 30lbs to lose. I've done it before, but have had some health changes that caused me to gain about 20 lbs over a few months...now having a hard time getting it back off! I work full time so would love to have a buddy for just a quick check in! I will be somewhat slow to start as I'm having hip surgery Wednesday, but even a slow start is still a start!

Mom of 2 here. Just turned 33 on the 8th of Dec. I need to shed about 30 pounds. I know I can do because back in 2010, I lost around 30-35 pounds. Was in the best shape of my life. But, I was so focused on working out, walking/jogging, that I started loosing too much weight. So, I started backing off of my exercise and just kept backing off until finally it was non-existent. I've gained it all back since and want badly to lose it again and this time KEEP it off. Any and all help/motivation is welcome!

I know what you mean. I have been all about my family for the past 14 years and I end up on the back burner. I am a single mom of 2 and I have 43 lbs to lose. It is time to realize I am a priority. I would love a weight lose buddy.

Hello. I too have problems with motivation and accountability. I was wondering if the first poster of the thread was looking for a small group. Something more intimate and personal. If that was the idea we could form small groups and compete as groups.

Build good habits!! Extinguish bad habits!!

I think I really like this group already!!!! I only have 1 child - it has taken me @ 11 years to "realize" my gains!!!! And is a struggle after never doing any sort of exercise or nutrition plan before!! Let's get together and kick these lbs to the curb!!!!

hi! Can I join your little group? I am a mom of 5 with around 30 pounds to get to my goal!


Lost all my wieght by Counting Bites (NOT calories) and now I am doing One Meal a Day Intermittent Fasting Lifestyle in combination with JUDDD (Dr Johnson's Up day Down day Diet. One day I eat a very large meal, the next day a small meal and repeat every other day.

Hi everyone! I am looking fro some weight-loss buddies too. I have used SparkPeople before with pretty good success, and the having people to be accountable to was one of the main reasons. I am a mom of one with 40+ lbs to lose. Look forward to getting to know everyone!

I would love a work out/ weight loss buddy.
I usually eat well and work out on the days I have to work. It's my days off that I fall off the wagon.
I have about 40lbs I'd like to lose.

I am so glad to get your replies and excited..the three of us can be buddies like a small group or something..I am 31 by the way.i am starting a 1200 kcal diet.i started from yesterday .I can share my daily food with you if interested.what I lack is motivation, I mean I stick to a good diet for 2 3 days then damage it..I need consistency and I need someone like you to share encouragement and thoughts with .
How many calories aday are you eating?
R u exercising?
Do you track your food daily?
Would like to hear anything from you girls
