Buying Honeydew

Look for: honeydew that is well-shaped (almost a sphere) and is heavy for its size.

Avoid: honeydew with a fuzzy surface that is light for its size.

Seasonality: All year

Storing Honeydew

Refrigerate honeydews up to 2 weeks.

Preparing Honeydew

Wash honeydew before cutting as bacteria may be clinging to the rind. Cut the honeydew in half and scoop out the seeds. Remove the rest of the rind with a paring knife and cut into slices or cubes.
